Printing pictures on a contact sheet

I have iphoto 7.1.1. and my printer is a Canon iP3500. I am trying to print photos on a contact sheet in three columns with multiple rows. When the print preview comes up it just shows one picture on the page verses multiple pictures. Can anyone tell me how to print out multiple pictures?
Thanks

select the photos you want to print, click print, in the left hand section of the print window click "contact sheet" and click print and click print

  • Minor bug in Print module (numbering of Contact Sheet pages)

I have selected one image from the Library or the film strip, went to the Print module and selected "5x8 Contact Sheet" from the Template Browser. On the top/left corner, it states "Page 1 of 2", while obviously there is one page only. Adding more pictures to fill in multiple pages, and moving from one page to another, the indication on top/left is recurrently wrong, e.g. indicating Page 2 of 2 when I am on 1 of 2. Numbering in the lower right rectangle is correct, instead.

Lightroom automatically wraps text under the thumbnail in contact sheets. The Text Template Editor does not allow you to enter line breaks. So, if your Filename is long enough to fill the first line, the caption will start with the second. If not, you can tweak the template somehow so that it looks the way you want.

  • Printing file & caption on contact sheet- Problem seeing full string

I am attempting to print a two column, 4 row contact sheet with file name & caption below the image. I can tweak the cell spacing vertical size slider which reduces the size of the image and can see all the file name & caption, which may be 2-3 lines.  I have selected file & caption along with a space after the string in the photo info section on the right and clicked done, then control clicked and saved template settings. I can print that sheet with all info. When I switch to another group of images using that saved template, all I can see is a single line of text. If I slightly tweak the vertical size slider, the image becomes a bit smaller and I can see the full text string, but in order to see full file & caption info, I have to tweak the slider for each sheet. If I go back to the previous group of images, the image is larger, I see a single line of text and I have to re-tweak the vertical size slider. I have a large number of sheets to print with file & caption info. How do I configure settings so I can save the full text string and don't have to tweak each sheet.

    Ben3C,
I have found the same problem.  What I have done is saved a template with the number of colums and rows desired.  I went into the 'Photo Info'under the Page area and using custom set up what I want to be printed below each image.  As I said, this is saved as a template.  Then when I select a group of images to print I select the previously displayed template.  This is when the caption will revert to only one line.  Then just select a different template (I usually select the filename.  Then reselect your custome template that you built.  All the lines of the caption will then show and print.  I have printed contact sheets with up to 10 rows of information and Lightroom will automatically resize the image so both the image and caption will fit within the cell area.

  • Printing EXIF Data on Contact Sheet

Is there a way to add to the contact sheet printout pre-selected EXIF data? I would like to have Original date/time, ISO, shutter speed, f stop and focal length on the contact sheet. I would also like to have full path with file name printed as well. How do I accomplish this.
    I am using PSE 4.0.
    Thanks for your help.

I'll be interested to see what people post back to you, because I actually
have the choice to do this... excepting that it is greyed out. If no one
responds, I'll look around and see what I can find.
    Cheers

  • Customizing iPhoto print contact sheet

Using the new version of Photo and cannot figure out how to manually sort pictures on the "contact sheet" option for printing. The older version allowed for dragging and moving images to customize the order.   I'm not trying to change the size of the images but need the capability to change the order of appearance on the contact sheet. Any suggestions?

Print the photos from an album you create for printing, and arrange the photos in the album before printing. The contact sheet will have the sort order in the album.
To sort an album manually by dragging use the View menu:

  • Contact Sheet Printing Problems

I have been trying to print contact sheets starting with version 1.1 and I'm still not able to print them in 2.1.
Ligthroom will generate the file but the printers (I tried 3 printers) are reporting error messages (Status Error - Printing). The file just stay in the queue for ever or I delete it. First I thought it had to be a printer problem so I tried to print the contact sheets in Draft Mode. That worked and everything was fine except the quality of the pictures on the contact sheet was so bad - unusable.
Now I have tried different relosutions from 150 to 250 and nothing works. Well, not quite nothing. I can print out one contact sheet with up to 20 pictures, but as soon as I need more than one sheet it fails.
I'm also running into the same problem with color shifts printing from Lightroom compared to Photoshop. Also, the speed seems to be very slow. I have about 30,000 slides in my library and I'm constantly waiting until LR catches up.

I was experiencing the same thing (in 4.1RC2). Tried to print a 158-image contact sheet (4 pgs), and it would want to render every image first.
    Here's my solution:
I went back to the Library module, selected all the photos I wanted to print, and made sure they all had standard previews rendered. Then I was able to go back and print as draft (to printer, pdf, and jpg) with lightning speed.
    Hope that helps,
    Cory
    **UPDATE**
Today I tried to print another contact sheet, with all previews rendered, and it's being slow again. Apparently my solution doesn't really work 100%. Yeah, it's like Jeckyll and Hyde...

  • Can I print a landscape contact sheet in iPhoto

I am unable to print a landscape contact sheet in iPhoto (latest upgrade, Maverick OS). I can get an image to switch to landscape when switching through the options, but this often results on cutting off the image (the only option iPhoto offers is to move the image or make it bigger, which cuts it off even more). I can't find any print settings as suggested in previous questions and answers and when I click print, there are no other options for me to change it. I have included screenshot for reference

That's right.  We haven't been  able to do a Print Setup since iPhoto 8 (09).  Whether the image is oriented landscape or not is built into iPhoto for single photo printing but for the contact sheet we've only got portrait orientation.
You can report this deficiency in iPhoto to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html in hopes they will incorporate that feature in the new Photos app that will be released sometime this spring.

  • Manual photo placement contact sheet

Using iPhoto, I am trying to print a contact sheet with the photos in a specific order.
I have them in an album and I arranged them as I want them printed.  Upon printing to PDF, the images scramble.
I have tried, but without success, the following:
Tried setting the sort to "manual"
Tried "batch changing" the dates and re-dated them sequentially by one minute and then clicked "sort by date".
Tried changing the file name and clicked "sort by file name".
Have spent hours trying to fix this. At my wits end!
My goal is to print 5 contact sheets with comparable photos in identical locations.  Specifically, each contact sheet depicts a house on the market.  There are 5 houses = 5 contact sheets.  The upper left corner picture on every contact sheet is the house's front exterior.  The upper right picture is that house's kitchen and so on....so that we can lay out all the printed contact sheets and compare quickly.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Banana

Use a word processor like Pages to do this.

  • Contact sheet question

I have one picture I want to put on a contact sheet but when I select it tit only shows one picture of it. I would like to be able to put the same picture on the contact sheet about 4 or 5 times so that I can print it on one 8 x 10 shhet at the photo developer.
How can I do this? Is the contact sheet the right way to do it?

Thank  you everyone. By the way I am using Windows.
I guess I was confused by what my children bring home from school those are like picture packasges not contact sheets. My Mistake.
If the pictures I have created are 2 by 2 will I have to select that size when making the sheet or being that is the size I saved it as will it go on the sheet like that if I copy them over?
Sorry I am not at home to try it out.
    Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Contact Sheets (Passport Photo's)

    Hi,
I have a picture I would like to print on a contact sheet.
When I select the picture, and choose contact sheet, Aperture kindly creates a contact sheet preview of all the pictures in my project - Not what I want.
I'd like to print off the same picture as a passport kind of photo, like 16 copies on a single A4 sheet.
I'm sure Apple would make this simple, but I can't figure it out.
    PLEASE HELP!!
    Gav

Actually you need to do this using the book tool inside Aperture by creating a custom page layout and printing it. - your best bet would be using one of a thousand tools to create multiple layouts on a single sheet from the same image - there are hundreds of things that do this.

  • Snow Leopard contact sheet layout changes possible?

Unable to change contact sheet layout to suit my needs. E.g. I want 6 photos per page in two columns. The default option for two columns seems to be 2 or 4 photos/page. Ask for six and it creates two pages. The layout within the contact sheet seems to have lost some of the flexibility that OSX Leopard had. Is there something that I am overlooking?

    Thanks for your response.
This what I do without getting the results I would like for 8.5x11 paper:
    1. I select 6 photos
    2. Hit "Print"
    3. Select "Contact Sheet" - the 6 photos are shown at the top of the 'page' in two rows.
    4. Select "Customize"
    5. Select "2 columns" (in the hope of getting the 6 photos arranged on one sheet - with the sheet in portrait format. Instead I get 4 photos on one sheet and lots of blank space.
    6. Select "Layout" icon. I see a sheet with 12 rectangles and a "1" in the margin. I am unable to make changes to the layout as shown.
Hopefully I have described my situation well enough for you.
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know if there is a way to customize a contact sheet in iPhoto 9.5?

The older version allowed moving of images as well as choosing which images to use in a contact sheet.  I was using this feature to email PDF sheets of work photos to clients.  Now,  if I try to print the pre-arranged contact sheet to PDF the images so very large, and impossible to email.  Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

I fixed this myself.  Deleted Iphoto 9.5 and restored 9.4.3 from Time Machine.  All is good.

  • Photo contact sheet

I have folders with bunches of photos that I need to review. In Windows Explorer I could print out a contact sheet of the photos so I can tell at a glance what I have.
Is it possible to do this in finder or any other program?

Just to add a bit to buckster's suggestion--
Once your photos are in iPhoto you can then print a contact sheet from iPhoto. From iPhoto help:
To print photos as a contact sheet:
Select the photos you want to print.
    Choose File > Print.
Choose a print setting from the Presets pop-up menu.
Choose Contact Sheet from the Style pop-up menu. The preview area shows how your photos will look when you print them.
Select options for the style you chose.
For example, you can select how many photos to print across each row of a contact sheet or show the title of each photo.
Photoshop Elements is cheap, will allow you to do anything with your photos a non-pro could possibly want to do, and also will print a contact sheet. If you are getting into photography I stongly recommend you get yourself a copy.
