Printing pictures using Quarkxpress 4 on OS 9

I'm new to using Quark. I have created a document in Quark 4 with pictures, everything prints out ok except the picture. I've overheard a guy who works in a printers talk about embedding pictures, do I need to do this and how?

I've used Quark for years and the only time I had problems was usually printing to a Non Postscript printer...
Quark, especially back at version 4, just works... As long as you have the right hardware around it.
I would ask what printer you are trying to print to and what format is the picture you have placed ?
Tiffs and EPS's (hi-res) are the best for that version as I recall...
BUT there is an option when printing to print a proof ??? maybe I can't recall, and that setting makes the pics print out as boxes.
Also I think the person you overheard was talking about Adobe Illustrator or the like. You don't embed pics into Quark until you do an EPS or PS file.
Lastly check the version of Quark you have vers 4 got to 4.11 here.

I have tried everything to make my new printer print photos on my hp notebook onto photo sized paper using the photo paper tray on the printer. I am not a novice and don't understand why it doesn't work. BUT I have heard from other that they have the same problem.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am sorry you are having problems -- it is perhaps a problem with the printer - it can happen, although it is rare that a new printer just won't print photos at all. There may be something that can be done.
I just replaced a nice Photosmart 7520 with a new Officejet 8630 - the 8630 is a great printer; like your 7640, the Officejet 8630 lacks a separate photo tray. I do miss that photo tray. Sigh.
Your printer should do this -- assuming that there is not something actually wrong with the printer -- and that you have the Full Feature Software installed -- that you have the Printing Preferences set up properly -- and that there is not something else odd going on.
For example, it may be something as simple as the Printing Preferences not being able to detect that the Paper is the right Media type, that the paper is in the right location - tucked into the temporary "photo tray" with the paper guides shoved against it - or that paper is in the right orientation. Something...

Since the new library gives you the same message log into another user account on your Mac and see if you can run iPhoto without getting that message. If you get that message there also a reinstall of iPhoto seems indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
Calibrate the monitor

What is the resolution of the picture that you are trying to print?
Go to Image>resize>image size, read the resolution in px/in, then report back, please.
Also, are you in a position to try printing with another printer in an attempt to narrow this down?

How can I print direct from my camera? This printer does not have any ports for accepting the card from the camera as my old photosmart printer did.

What kind of printer are you using? Most of our newer printers still have memory card readers which would allow you to print pictures directly from the printer. If the printer truly does not have the memory card readers (some of them don't), then you would need to use a computer to transfer the pictures from the memory card before printing them.

There is no Apple print service for iBooks, and iPhoto can also only print photo books created in iPhoto.
Print your iBook to pdf. Then you have several option:
Save the pdf to a thumbsdrive/stick and take it to the nearest print shop close to your home.
Search online for "self publishing" services available in your country.
Recreate your book as an iPhoto Book. This will be a lot of work, since iPhoto's templates are more suitable for Picture books than books with lots of formatted text. To speed things up, you could use "Preview" to export the pages of your book as jpegs (high quality, at least 300 dpi) and add themas full-page photos to a new PhotoBook. This can be sent to apple for printing.
But the first two options would be much less trouble and probably be less expensive.

Colors don't match when printing pictures on J4860 all-in-one

When I print pictures, the colors are not true. It doesn't matter what software I use, but usually it's Photoshop CS3. I thought it was my monitor - that I wasn't seeing the true colors in my files. But I've been able to verify that the colors on screen match the subject in the photo. The prints from the HP J4860 do not match the screen images. I currently have new ink, and they are new HP cartridges, not generic or refilled cartridges, but this has been a problem through many ink cartridge replacements.

I don't know if there is much we can do to improve your output. First off, I want confirm you are using an OfficeJet J4680. We don't have a J4860.
Could you post an image that is unsatisfying, and let us know what you dislike? I'm going to involve a color expert here, and he'll look to see if we can do anything.

Printing Invoices using T VF03

Hi
I am trying to print invoices using Vf03. I can print most of the invoices (or the numbers that they gave me) but two.
When I enter the number for one of those two and tell it to print from the menu it says on the bottom "output could not be issues"
And if I double click on the error message, it opens up an window saying what might have cuassed the error, but not in detail.
This is what it says
"Output could not be issued
Message no. VF304
Diagnosis
An error occurred while output was being issued. It is possible, for example, that the form to be issued has not been activated or has an error. An error may also have arisen while the data to be issued was being edited.
Procedure
Check possible causes of the problem.
Now it prints othe invoices but these two. These are old invoices and needed to be reprinted.

Please check the text elements in the smartform.
I mean there will be no error in the form but there may be some problems in the text elements. That too it will be while printing
For eg: if there are three text elements but you have only 2 Boxes to print it ( take it in Main window )
So if for some instances if all the three text elements are getting printed, then it will definitely give you an error like Output cannot be issued.
So you need to confirm these kind of errors also in the form. This will come into picture depending on the data what you are printing in the form.
So please check the othe data which is getting printed with the data which is not getting printed.
When ever " Output not issued ", Please check the text elements mostly. This means it is not finding proper place to print the data.
Some times in a row there will 2 columns. IF you pass 3 rows, then it will be definitely an error.
This is what i faced in 4.6 C Version.
Mostly In higer versions you can have the line and column number in the Text elements when you put them in Templates.

Printing Pictures

How do I print 4x6 pictures on HP Everyday Glossy photo paper. The application I'm trying to use is Adobe PhotoShop Elements 9. When I go in a click print then setup the printer to use borderless 4x6 paper and click print it prints a small picture. I tried printing on 4x6 paper from Windows Vista photo gallery and it will print just like it should so I think it's a Photoshop setting of some kind I don't have right.

Please save picture from email first and print after that. Do you have HP Photo Creations on your computer ? You can use this software to print to get good results. If not, you can download from the following link and install to your computer:

I recently upgraded to PSE 13 and the old way of printing picture packages no longer seems available. How do I print a picture package? thanks.

Which operating system are you using with pse 13?
Which version of photoshop elements and operating system were you using before?
How were you printing the picture package in your older version?

Printing Pictures of materials in smartforms...

We have a requirement here that is the following:
1 - All materials in the system will have a picture assigned to it. (tens of thousands of them)
2 - We need to print a photo catalog (using smartforms); with all these pictures. (around 30 per page)
3 - We want to store this data(pictures) only once and have it accessed by ECC and BW.
What is the recommended approach?
I know I can use SE78 to upload pictures but I probably would not have it shared easily.
If I use DMS, how can I read from there to put it in my smartforms (only BMAP and TIFF accepted...)?
Any suggestions?

Trying to print picture package.

I am trying to print a picture package ... once it is ready, I hit print and nothing happens. I can print a single pic, and could print a package last week.. I have tried again, and again, and am getting frustrated.

Though I can't tell you how to fix your problem, you can use a work-around to print your picture photo.
You can easily save your picture package as a pdf file which you can print at your convience.
install any print-to-pdf application.The application would register itself as a printer and whenever sent a page to print, would convert and save it as a pdf
prepare your picture package and print it using the print-to-pdf application
load the saved pdf file and print it
Adobe has its own print-to-pdf application too. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/print-to-pdf.html

Paper jams completely with either single or multiple sheets.
No changes to the system. Plain paper feed just fine.

What kind of glossy paper are you using and what is the weight ?
