Printing pictures with titles / captions

I want to print a series of pictures, each with a title / caption underneath. I'm happy to fill in some metadata to achieve this. Using a contact sheet would be ideal, and I know I can select some metadata to be printed underneath each picture. However I can't seem to find a way to only have the metadata without having to have the metadata title as well (eg 'Caption: A walk in the woods', when all I want is 'A walk in the woods')
Can anyone help?

So, presumably I have to do this by creating my own contact sheet as a master page in a book, containing photos and linked metadata boxes. OK. Unfortunately, when I do this I don't seem to be able to find any way of choosing my own font style for such master page linked metadata boxes. Aperture offers a selection, but if I go for anything else my linked metadata boxes become unlinked. (I realise I could alter each box individually on the actual pages, but .....)
Am I missing something, or is it simply not possible to print photos with a caption in a chosen font style in any kind of automated way?

  • Printing iPhoto Pictures with Titles

iPhoto provides for titles with pictures and a description with the picture as well. Is there a way to print pictures with their itle and description?

Within iPhoto the only way is using the contact sheet option as Daiya pointed out. If you want to put the info on the photo itself you'll need a 3rd party editor link Photoshop Elements, Seashore orAcorn. If you go to VersionTracker.com and search for "image editor" you'll get a number of candidates.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Printing photos with titles/burning photos with titles to CD

I have taken photos that show hand positions for particular physical treatments and wish to print them with their titles so that I can remember what is what when I look at the photos in my notebook. Likewise, I would like to burn the photos WITH THEIR TITLES to CD so that I can share them with my classmates and have the photos make sense. Is there anyway to do this with iPhoto?

    Janel
Burning with Titles is easy: File -> Export. In the resulting dialogue choose Use Title under the Name panel. Export the files to a folder on the desktop, then burn that folder. This is certainly the case with v6, it may also work with 5.
Captions are more difficult. You cannot add text to a Pic using iPhoto, but you could create a document in Pages and very easily add captions to the Photographs there. Setting other apps as external editor would allow using PS or PE to add text to the pics.

  • How do I patch print pictures with the filename?

I have 1000 student proof pictures to print on envelopes.  one per envelope.  I'm trying to figure out how to print the picture with the file name included.  I need the file name printed under the picture so that when the students turn in their order
I can find their pictures.  I've been doing a contact sheet of one coloumn and one row. this gets the name included with the picture, however, the system crashes if I try to do all 1000 at once. So I have to break it down into separate folders.  I've found that if i try to this with more than
76 pictures photoshop freezes and I have to restart.  There's got to be an easier way to do this.  Please, help.

If you have InDesign, you could set up a data merge to do this.
Your data file would have one text column with the image name, and one image column (header beginning with '@)
Set up the first page and run the merge.

  • Printing pictures with too much blue color

My HP Photosmart C5180 is printing my pictures with to much blue ink so that the outcome is not looking as it is supposed to. What causes this issue?

    Hello Dikte,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the quality of the colour prints.
I do have a few suggestions that we can try.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located two document that deal with this sort of issue.  The first link is for when the Colors Bleed into Each Other.
The second link deals with when the Printed Colors Are Not the Colors Expected.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to write me back.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • How can I print a picture with a caption and EXIF information?

    Hi,
I want to print a picture and use the caption from the meta data and the information about shutter speed, focal length and so on. I figured out that there is a way to print this information in the print module, but it is attached directly to the image, which does not look good. Question is there another way? Maybe involving Photoshop? I would like to have the flexibility I have with the slide show designer, where I can put caption to the left side of the image and ISO, shutter speed and so on to the right. Is this possible somehow?
I am looking for an easy preset that I could apply to a lot of pictures.
    Thanks!

There's a Lightroom addin called Mogrify that will do this (and a lot more). Just google it. It's something you have to buy but it's not a lot of money.

  • How to print pictures with ipad ??

    Hi..
I'm using Canon M620 printer that has a wireless print capability. When I got pictures folder in my ipad and select  a picture and the go to options I can see a printer option. When I select it my ipad cannot detect my printer. What do I have to do ? I'm using windows 7 64x and the latest drivers for the printer is installed and for the ipad ios 6 is installed.

iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
These options enable you to use any printer available to your Mac, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer.

  • Printing pictures with intel imac

I have a 24" imac with an hp8150 printer, evertime I print a picture it turns out green and dark not showing the true colors of the picture, I am a little new to macs and printing, so I am not sure what to do, I win xp installed in boot camp and printed a photo win xp and came out great. just have this problem in mac os x 10.4.9

    Paw,
Just so you know, when this happens on my iMac, it's because the color ink is low. Can you check the levels on your ink tank via OSX? I have no idea why it would work via Windows, unless you need to update your OSX driver. This is not SOP for iMac.

  • Print spreadsheet with title.

Is there any way to print a multi-page spreadsheet with a Title on the first printed page only?

You can put a Text Box at the top of your Sheet with a title in it, or you can add a additional Header row to the table at the top of your Sheet and put a title there.

  • Printing photos with Titles?

    Can this be done? How?

Yes and no. Yes, you can add a title. Click on "Customize" in the print dialog, then pick a layout that includes a line of text. No, you cannot automatically make the photo titles appear there. You have to enter the text by hand for each photo.

  • My hp all in one printer d209a is printing pictures with very light black streaks on picture

What can i do remove these very light black lines?

    Hi Babs1955,
Yes, online drivers are available for downloading so you will not need an actual installation disk. I am unsure of which model of printer you are working with and operating system, therefore, I am going to post you the direct link to the drivers page.
You will need to input your printers model number and follow the steps from there until you see your driver.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html
If you are unable to find the driver, please let me know your model number and OS and I will be happy to find it for you!
    Take care

  • I need to know how to copy pictures to a cd with the captions showing, elements 8 and windows 7

I need to know how to copy
pictures to a cd with the captions showing, elements 8, windows 7

Here are some suggestions.  Perhaps others will have even better ideas.
1 -- for viewing on a Windows computer,  you can experiment with making a PSE Organizer slide show creation in which you specify to show the captions. Then save the Output of the slide show as a WMV file that the recipient could play on a computer with Windows Media Player.
If you have a DVD burner on your PC, you can also use that WMV file as input to the Windows 7 DVD Maker program for making a TV playable DVD. And if your recipient(s) who will view on a computer have DVD readers, you could make video DVDs playable on computers or TV DVD players instead of using CDs.
The limitations of this approach are that this wmv file you create is really a video file so
-- it advances photo slides at the rate specified when you create the slide show
-- the choices to save a wmv file are not very high resolution so that recipients who have high resolution monitors will not see the photo images are not getting the benefit of seeing the photos at their best
-- your recipients can't print from this video slide show
2 An entirely different approach is to
-- For each individual photo, make a copy of the photo file and depending on how high resolution your originals you might want to resize down to monitor viewing sizes.
-- Then use the PSE Editor Text Tool to place the caption on a layer above the photo. (I think that you could display the existing caption and then do a copy and paste so that you don't need to retype everything.)
-- You should save this photo copy with the text as a uniquely named JPEG file. Use the file names to control the sequence in which you want the viewer to see the photos.  (Don't save as a PSD because others probably can't read the PSD format).
-- Then use your computers CD burning software to burn a folder containing all those jpeg files with the captions to CD
This approach is a bit of work for each photo and you did not say how many photo files you will be doing. However,
-- computer users should be able to display  the jpegs as high resolution photos on their computer as well as optionally print from those photo files
-- many TV DVD players can play (display) jpg files from a CD disc which also gives recipients the opportunity to view the photos on their larger TV screen
Process 2 may seem complicated but once you get started I think it will be more of a production line.
    ADDITION
Do you have any portrait orientation photos included with those you wish to send ? If yes, we might need to discuss some additional processing for them.

  • Printing photos with captions

In a photo album I've put a caption into the Description box of each picture. I haven't been able to figure out how to print the photos with the caption beneath each picture. I can make a web page with the text in the Description box beneath each picture so surely there is a way to do it with printing. My goal is to print the sheets of a simple photo album -- two 4x6 pictures per sheet with the Description text below each picture. Can you help?

If you want the captions beneath the photo then use the Contact Sheet theme in the Customize section of the print window. In the Settings page you can check the Comments box to have the comments printed under each photo.
You'll have the option as to how many columns to have per page which determine how many photos will be per page.
