Printing, please help!

I am still having so much trouble printing to my HP Photosmart B209a printer. I have tried everything, and nothing is working. Whenever I print the colors do not match up at all. I am using a Mac OSx and again printing to HP Photosmart B209a.
Please help!

I have tried that .. and still no luck! The colors still look significantly different.

Is the C7280 able to make a perfect copy of a document if you lay something on the glass of the printer and select color copy?
If so, reset the printing system (don't pay attention to the OS listed in the document) on the Mac and then install this HP driver package for Mac: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X. Restart the Mac, add the printer back into System Preferences.
Try printing at this time and let me know what happens.

Check printing ,Please help : Urgent!!!!!!!

One of the user printed wrong information on a check.She wants to void that check and reprint a new one.The information also came on next check,But the information of second check is not the check lot ,I mean in the system,where as first check information is in the check lot.Which T. codes do we use and how do i deal with second check..Do i need to do anything in FCHI(make changes to next available check number).Please help me as she needs it immediately.

hi first check in FCHI - as to what your range is. post your range here. Then go to FCh1 and view the check info. maybe you have the test out put checked so the first check is voiding automatically. Aslo check in FCHN

Canon IP7250 - Color won't print - Please help

I have a Canon IP7250, two day ago, my printer showed me error C000. I resolved this error, but now my printer won't printing in colour. Black working properly. I tried many times to cleaning a toner in mainteace. When I go to "print head alignment" then shows error 2500. ? In nozzle check black colour is excellent but no other colors on paper.

Again, the username/password, would either be your logon username/password or your "root" username/password if you have enabled it.
Another option would be to update your CUPS software. Multi-functional printers are usually "tricky" to get full-featured drivers for. It's possible that a newer version for this particular printer may exist with an update.
Still another option (and possibly a better one) would be to download and install the latest Gutenprint printer drivers. These were formally known as Gimp-Print drivers. (ref: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3)

Your first step would be to upgrade to Snow Leopard (10.6). To do that, you would need to purchase the Snow Leopard DVD. Following that you could determine how much further you could upgrade.

Kernel Panic When Printing -- Please Help

I used to have the Kernel Panic problem all the time because I stupidly did not keep my computer on a hard surface. Once I started leaving it directly on my desk, the kernel panic subsided.
Now it's back. Every time I try to print something, a few pages print, followed by Kernel Panic (my screen darkens with symbol of the power button and error message tells me to restart my computer). I have 23.1 GB left on my hard drive (out of 120). I don't think this is the problem but I figured I'd mention it anyways.
Last time this happened, I had all other applications closed. The only thing open was the printing que and kernel panic still happened.
Please, please help me. I just started school and I really need to be able to print things and not have my computer shut off every time. Thanks so much!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I work at an elementary school and I was recently trying to set up one of our iMac computers with a new printer. The printer is a HP LaserJet 1320. I installed all of the drivers from the disk into the computer and it told me that I had to set up the printer in the "Desktop Printer Utilities" file. When I went to do that I found that there was no such file in the system. I was wondering if there was a way of getting the printer to work. And if so I need detailed instructions so that I can set up the printer properly for the teacher. PLEASE HELP

Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
I believe they are referring to Desktop Printer Utility, which is a program, not a file. It is one of the standard OS 9 utility programs installed by default. Try doing a search on your hard drive for it - note that the spelling of its name is a bit different than the one you gave.
If it is indeed missing, you can use the utility TomeViewer to extract (expand) any files you want from an Installation Tome on an OS 9.x Install CD or download disk image, without running the installer.
How to use TomeViewer
The item Desktop Printer Utility can be found in the Installation Tome located here on an OS 9.0.x Install CD - (CD) >> Software Installers >> System Software >> Mac OS 9 >> Installation Tome.
Note that this requires the use of an original OS 9 disk named Software Install, or a retail OS 9.0 or 9.0.4 Install CD.

Problems printing - please help!

I have an Epson R800 that I am using with Aperture 1.1. My printouts don't match the colors on my LCD screen. I am using the proper ICC profiles (for premium glossy photo epson paper). I have two questions:
1. Is there any way to print out the same image multiple times on a contact sheet with different gamma settings?
2. when I select the Print settings, it keeps defaulting to the
"standard paper setting" (instead of premium glossy, which i keep having to reselect). I have several presets, but it keeps defaulting to the STANDARD setting. It also defaults to the color controls setting under COLOR MANAGE (I keep turning that off)....please help.
one more quick question, I paid a lot of money for this program, where do I actually get tech support from? I would like a phone number with a live operator....:-D

Now try fiddling with the saturation and other settings. Sometimes it is virtually impossible to have the print look exactly like what is on the monitor, so you have to fiddle the various settings until you get the print you want. So much depends on the calibration of the monitor, and the lighting in the room, and the kind of paper you use, and many other factors. The acid test is the print. You have to fiddle until you get the print you want.
If your colors are too light, you could start by tweaking the exposure, or the saturation. You may have to have a too rich image on the screen in order to produce the right image in the print.
Recently, I needed an 11x14 of a superb 8x10 print, and I had to have the 11x14 done by a specialty lab, because the Epson R800 won't go to 11x14. So I took in the print and the image file, and my friend was able to produce an 11x14 precisely like my 8x10 print. He had to do quite a bit of fiddling to accomplish it. It was by no means simply a matter of matching my print on screen. He had to work to get his system to produce precisely the colors and exposure, etc. etc. that I had in my print.
You may want to go through a major calibration effort in order to bring your screen image closer to your print.

Stopped printer please help

I did some printing and stopped the printer as it was printing.Now I can't get it to start again. I've reset the printer after trying everything i could think of but it still won't work. Help me please I'm at my wit's end! Teresa

Normally you would start the printer again by pressing the start jobs button in the print centre - the same button that you pressed to stop the jobs.
However, I have found on many occasions that this just doesn't work (still haven't found a reason why) - but this alternative generally does.
In the print centre. highlight you printer and then press the delete printer button. Now you have no printer. Close the print centre.
Open it again and do an Add Printer. Hopefully your epson will appear in the window. se3lected it andf do add and ho[pefully you problem will be gone.

Can't find printer Please help

Just got my MacBook and am trying to find the printer on my home network.
I have called apple, not much help, I have called ATT (my internet/network provider) not much help there either.
I have 2 desktop pc's.The main one has a 2WIRE gateway modem/network wireless adapter, runs Vista and has an HP psc 2410xi printer hooked up with a usb cable directly to it. The other desktop is running XP and can locate the printer on the network without any problems. ( I set it up in control panel>network & sharing center in windows.
Apple did have me download and install the printer driver from HP.
Can someone tell me what steps or what I should do on my MacBook to find this printer on my network? I can connect to the internet using airport without any problems just no printer to be found....

Have you Added the printer via the Print & Fax preferences? Select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "add printer" without quotes. Several articles will appear to help you.

Printing from Reader XI crashes HP 2605 printer, please help

Hello all,
My HP 2605dn printer reboots whenever trying to print PDF files. Here are the steps I’ve performed to determine that the issue is with printing PDF files only and not other file types:
Mac OSX 10.7.5, HP 2605dn, Apple HP driver v19.6, HP firmware 20061114, 20071108 and 20120413 (per printer’s webpage.)
Disconnect printer from power cord and Ethernet cable for at least 24 hours.
Attach power cord only, power up, and print demo page directly from printer menu successfully.
Attach network cable, reinstall printer, open printer queue, and attempt to print test page from OSX menu; however, page doesn’t print, though printer queue says it did
Open Microsoft Word, and print “Hello World” successfully.
Second attempt to print test page from printer queue succeeds.
Print one page from Safari 6.0.5 successfully.
Open recently created PDF in Preview 5.5.3 and print two pages, two-sided successfully.
Open same PDF with Adobe Reader 11.0.03 and attempt to print first page with Language Level 2 and no download of Asian fonts, but encounter printer error. Printer itself is displaying “Printing Document”, but the printer is unresponsive to any button presses.
Delete print job from printer queue.
Attempt to print test page from printer queue, but the queue displays “The printer is not connected.”
Disconnect printer from power cord and Ethernet cable for at least five minutes.
Attach power cord only, power up, and print demo page directly from printer menu successfully. Previously submitted test page is printed as well.
Attach network cable, and print test page from printer queue successfully.
Print one page of same PDF from Preview successfully.
Print Service Page directly from printer successfully.
Print Network Configuration Page directly from printer caused printer to reboot.
Printing one page from Microsoft Word caused printer to reboot.
Printing Demo page directly from printer causes display and buttons to freeze.
Toggle power button, and attempt to print Demo Page directly from printer results with “79 Error” and a reboot.
The same results are obtained when repeating the above steps, beginning with step 2.
I’ve gotten pretty much the same behavior when trying to print PDFs with the generic PCL and PostScript drivers, selecting PostScript language level 2 and 3 in the PDF printing advanced options, and after updating the printer from HP 2605 Firmware 20061114 to 20120413 to 20071108. My printer is perfectly functional until I attempt to print a PDF under Adobe Reader XI.
I would appreciate any guidance in resolving this issue.

Thanks for your help. But I am afraid it still doesn't work. I tried to uninstall and re-download and re-install the driver last night. After that I got an update from apple for the driver of my printer, I installed it but it doesn't help with the two-sided printing.
I can see the option for two-sided printing in the 'layout' section, but it is in grey colour, I can't choose it.
