Printing Portal Reports

Does anyone have a deployed method of having a "Print" button once a report is displayed from Portal? Maybe such as a javascript that send the report to users local printer.
Would like to have documents stored in portal, query, display as report then option to "print" hard copy.

Printing a report with print sheets from the portal

It is my understanding that a print sheet uses a variant to make a connection between the variable settings set in the web portal and the variable / filtering settings that are used when printing a report. It is also my understanding that without a print sheet and variant that when a user prints a report from the portal that the printed report would not have the same filtering (variable settings) as what the user sees in the report. I have created a report and a print sheet that uses a variant, but when we view reports in the portal there is not a print icon... we can only print from the browser. Printing from the browser only prints what is on the screen, not a formatted report set up in the reporting agent. How do I print a report that uses a variant and a print sheet set up in the reporting agent to be available to print from the portal... i.e. display an icon to print the report? If you have a better or more detailed explanation of what a print sheet is and how to set it up, please include that as well.

The BW Reporting agent print settings is used for batch printing of BW reports not online printing from the web.
Currently there are no SAP delivered formatted reporting print functionality for BW. BI 7.0 will have formatted reporting and PDF export options.
SAP had recently released a How to Document on printing using MS Excel. See the attached link for the same.

Printing Crystal Report decreasing font Size in web.

I am using Crystal report viewer to preview and print the report in which print mode is "pdf". I tried with "ActiveX" mode but its generate error...

BUTTON FOR PRINT A REPORT

Hi Guys!!
Hey, I need to print "directly" in the local printer or in the default windows printer, a report without download it to excell or PFD. Is there a way or a scrip to create a button to do this on the Web Application Designer?

Thanx for your replies, both answers are very usefull, but i still have some issues applying your solutions, first, the pice of javascript that Arun shows it's very usefull and it works in an excellent way, but, is there another pice of JavaScript that i can use to print without the header line and the footprint and also in an horizontal way?, this is because some reports are to wide to print it as the default print option. i search on several pages, blogs and forums but i cant find something that can correctly apply on this.
And about the button with the command "[LAUNCH_BROADCASTER]". that Pradnya shows, i made the button and insert this command, but when i hit the button instead of the Bex Broadcaster wizard, it shows me an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" window. my reports are published in the BI Portal, not via Bex Broadcaster, is it could be the problem?, do i have to make a setting or how can i solve this issue?

How to give the table in a Portal Report an ID?

I have a report created in Oracle Portal 10.1.4 using the standard Portal Report feature. The results are output in HTML as a table. How do I give the table an ID attribute?
This is what teh output looks like now:

you can increase the table size by using the table properties.
table properties-->Additional formatting options--->give the values of height and width like 800,600 etc.

Printing abap report from Transactional Iview

Hi All,
I have a abap report and i have created a transactional Iview to embed the report into Portal.
Now when i try to execute and print the report from portal end i am unable to print the report.
It opens another window saying please wait for the formatted data to be displayed in the window and please do not close the window and the download option comes at the top block bar. Aftter clicking on download file it promts to save the file . When saved and opned the file is corrupt and cannot be opened by adobe reader.

Unable to print the reports from Transaction iViews

Hi Experts,
We have configured SAP Transctions iViews in portal. These transactions are basically of reports, when we want to print the report from EP. When clicking on the Print from the Transaction iView we are getting the error "File does not begin with '%PDF".
iView launches in HTML Gui.
When we launch the same report from ECC directly login with GUI we are able to take the print.
Is there any settings need to be maintain in "FRONTEND_PRINT" service.

I am using my Crystal Reports to link into YARDi (real estate program), When I print some reports I recently created the words and letters get mixed up??

Print Quote Report

Hi All,
I have a requirement to develop the custom print Quote Report. When i review the standard pring quote report ,I found a call like <?call-template:TermsTemplate?>.
This statment itself is getting all the Terms and Conditions for that report. when i looked in the ASOPRTXSL.xsl, I see the below statement

I'm fairly new to Oracle Quoting and trying to get familiar with it. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone answers them
1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

No, there is no conc program getting called, you can directly call a report in a browser window, Oracle reports server will execute the report and send the HTTP response to the browser.4) If we want to customize the jsp pages can you please let me know the steps involved in making the customizations and testing them.

Print crystal report without using the print button on toolbar

Hi,
I am working on Crystal report XI. I need to print the report w/o using the toolbar. So I have inserted a print icon in the report. On clicking that icon it should call a jsp page which will print the report. I am not able to call any print methods provided by JRC to do this.
Can someone help me with this problem.
Is there some other way to implement it ?

Print the report where? On what printer? The server's printer?
Java code runs on the server. You can't affect the client's computer from JSP.
You can write javascript code which can call window.print() but that is working through the browser to display the print dialog box (as if the user selected file:print)

but when I print the same report on doc format truncate data on left and right side.

Reports does not support .doc format. Are you referring .rtf format?
In any case, you must contact Oracle Support to get the issue resolved.

Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

Hi,
I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....

Hi Anil,
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
width and page height of the report.
But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:
