Printing Postage labels problems

I purchased a new HP p6203 computer with Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit O/S....
I Attached my not so new H/P c4240 printer which worked fine with Win XP... now when I try to print a Postage label via the U.S.P.S with Paypal  that use Pitney Bowes system, it will only print 1/2  of the page with the word "SAMPLE " in red thru it.I have tried both buttons ,meaning the "Print Label button" and the "Print Sample Label" button ,both with the same results.
I am just trying to narrow the problem down  .... H/P... the U.S.P.S....Pitney Bowes....Win 7
,or a new printer driver for the C4240 for Win 7 ??? ,any help would be appreciated . Thanks, Yorkvette

Ohhkays.. Can you try installing Reader 10.1.2 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise.
And then follow the instructions as indicated on: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html to see if it fixes the print issue on your end.

  • How do I set up the system to print 4x6 labels via paypal and ebay using a DYMO 4XL Thermal Label Printer (through airport)?

We bought a DYMO Label Writer 4XL. We want to print thermal labels from our Mac and PC, wireless. The good thing is that I already have the printer set in the network and added on each of our computers (Mac and Windows 8). For printing regular labels you can use the Dymo software; for printing postage labels from ebay or paypal has been impossible.
From ebay I even tried one label at the time but still did not work.  I sent the the print command from the mac-print-window, changing each of the settings (such as paper size) but did not work. Each time (no matter if you want to print one label only) it advances more than one lable.

Through Paypal is a different story. It should be easy cause it seems the Zebra Driver in Paypal works with this DYMO. The issue is how to get the system to send the print command to the DYMO printer through the Zebra LP2488? please help! I know some people have succeded making all these work. What am I missing?

To whomever is reading this post I just wanted to let you know I returned the Dymo 4XL. Their customer service is horrible. Technical support does not exist at all. The issue was extremely frustrating and time consuming. I do not recommend this thermal printer at all. Good luck finding one... if you do, please share.

  • Trying to print USPS label.  Never had a problem before

I have been printing labels with postage for years now with no problems.  Suddenly, I cannot print any labels ...   The help desk at USPS has had me try various remedies but no success.  Should I uninstall Reader X?  and, if I did that, how could I install an earlier version.  Any answers will be greatly appreciated.  I have wasted a lot of time here.

  • Firefox does not work with the USPS self ship web site. Will not allow printing of postage labels.

Some months ago, user "junkbondman" asked this question somewhat poorly, and partly as a result got a non-responsive boilerplate answer by someone who did not read the question's key (if cryptic) point:
    > Select a service type. THIS IS WHERE THE WEB SITE FAILS TO WORK PROPERLY
That's too bad, because 16 other users identified "HAVE SAME PROBLEM" - as had, no doubt, a large majority of the 677 viewers of the question. However, maybe to get a better answer we need to start with a better definition of the problem.
The way that the USPS site <cns.usps.com> works to print a label is that addresses (return and forward) are defined, the package weight and value are specified, and then a shipping mode is selected before paying and printing the label. The shipping mode is selected in a section titled "Select a service type", via an embedded table using a vertical scroll-bar that Firefox cannot handle. [Firefox is not alone in that. For example, Safari under iOS cannot scroll the embedded table, but USPS provides a mobile app which mitigates that problem by presenting the table differently.]
Now, it should be stipulated that the table is the worst element in a bad page that does not begin to pass W3 validation [71 errors, 19 warnings - looks like government work]. However, other browsers (like Google Chrome) handle that table with apparent ease. The question is whether Firefox should be able to do so - and, if so, how? As of Fx 33.0, this still does not work.
    NOTES:
    (1) Unfortunately, to examine this problem requires setting up a USPS account in order to see the shipping page. Setting up the account is easy, but it is a small extra burden to examining the problem.
    (2) The problem has been reported to USPS, but has elicited no sign of intelligent life.

''I get the "pointer" mouse cursor when mousing over the blue bar, and I can click on it and scroll the contents as with any other scroll bar, but the bar doesn't move up and down in sync with the content being scrolled: it just stays put. If I do not slide straight down, the blue bar may twitch a pixel left or right.''
Great description! - sorry if you implied that earlier and I misunderstood, but I think that description adds crucial details:
    * must hover over the ''blue'' part of the bar (representing the visible part of the table) and
    * get the "selector" cursor (the pointing finger), then
    * hold that click while scrolling (inside or outside of the table doesn't matter, as long as that click is held) to the needed table row, then
    * release the click, and the table stays in place to allow a selection.
Most pages with an embedded scrollable input form (like the box I'm typing in on this page) do not change to the selector cursor when hovering over ''any'' part of the scroll bar, either ''blue'' (representing the visible part of the input form) or ''white'' (the invisible part of the input form). And it is common to click in the ''white'' part of the bar as a way of saying "show what is not visible". You can't do that with these USPS input forms, which behave differently.
Now, even with this method, that remains a very unintuitive (because the scroll bar does not reflect the position, and because the actual ''selections'' never get the "selector" cursor) and awkward way to work, so there is no visual feedback on either part of the operation.
And, I must try to understand why some browsers treat this differently. For example with Chrome (like Firefox), the cursor changes to "selector" in the blue part of the scroll bar, but not in the white part, but with Chrome (unlike Firefox):
    - a ''click'' in the white ("invisible") part of the scroll bar or
    - a ''drag'' on the blue ("visible") part of the scroll bar
causes movement in the required direction - altogether more intuitive behavior.
Bottom line: At least there is a way to make this work with Firefox, but it is awkward, to say the least. It will require a lot more thought to think about:
    * how and why some browsers handle these non-standard input forms with such intuitive behavior (that is, behavior that is familiar in more standard input forms),
    * whether the fact that Firefox is less accommodating in that regard is a reportable bug, or whether Firefox should not have to worry about sites (like usps.com) that can't be bothered to comply with standards.
What do you think about those questions?

  • Help with printing Ebay postage labels

Hi. I always use Firefox to print ebay postage labels. Recently when I print labels firefox seems to miss out labels and just prints blank pages in there place. Does anyone know a fix for this. I have checked and Firefox is up to date and Adobe is set for my Portable Document Folder. I am literally tearing my hair out as I need to use chrome and then adjust margins but still each label seems to move up or down slightly to the point where half a label will appear on the next page. Firefox was fine up until recently. Thanks

After months of no answers I bought an iPad and started trying to print postage from it from eBay. I had to use browser instead of eBay app, I had to get an app for my printer, I had to click PRINT POSTAGE on item sold and then touch image of the postage on screen and SAVE IMAGE to photos. I then rotated it since I use labels and then open printer app and select 5x7 and the photo of postage image and CLICK PRINT or send to printer.
This worked for me using new iPad 2 I bought so am sure it will work on my iPhone
Note: I had to use iPhone app on iPad since I like that version better for my printer.
If no app exists for your printer I am at a loss to help, I will be buying an air printer instead of my wifi one soon.
If this helps in anyway or makes someone explore a method that works I will be glad and please share your methods so we all do not boot up gaming rigs just to send packages lol. Hope it helps

  • Cannot open, save, or print ship label on USPS website using Acrobat 11; Win 7; Internet Explorer 9.

USPS tech and supervisor spent 1 hour walking me through fixes of uninstalling, installing and changing options to no avail. The provider software (USPS, Adobe & Microsoft) works using other browsers (Google Chrome and Firefox) but not with Internet Explorer (any version as I've tried it with 8 and 9). No virus, malware or defects in any of the software. This problem seems to reoccur every time there is a new release from Adobe, Windows Explorer or the USPS. Has anyone found a solution?
Specifically, either of the "print or save label" prompts in the online postage software opens a dialogue bar that give 2 choices: save or cancel.  The cancel option doesn't work at all; the bar stays open. The save option opens the operating system software to "desktop" but when the "save" option is selected there is no response.  No way to get out of the dialogue bar without closing the usps web site. Each time I've had to go into the account history file and claim a refund for the unprintable label. Options I've tried to solve issue:
    >added usps.com to trusted sites in IE under tools
    >enabled manage add-on for Acrobat Reader
    >disabled protected mode in IE options
    >unchecked "require server verification"
    >uninstalled and reinstalled latest versions of Acrobat 11; tried Acrobat 9 and 10 installs
    >did "repair" of Acrobat 11
    >reduced security levels for IE and USPS web site
    >uninstalled/reinstalled IE 9 and IE 8.
Each software provider claims the other's products are at fault, not theirs.

Thank you for your interest in my problem. USPS is the US Post Office.  Mailing labels can be created, paid for and printed on their website, usps.com. The labels are in pdf format and their application uses Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the file where the label resides and then print it.  Normally, you can  select either "print" or "save" to open the file where the label resides and then you again have the option to immediately print the label or save it to your "desktop."  I have printed or succcessfully saved  hundreds of these labels, despite changes in the various versions of Acrobat Reader, Internet Explorer (IE) and the USPS software. After returning from a 2 week vacation on Oct 1, I rebooted my PC to create and print some labels and the fun began.
The USPS software works perfectly until the print or save stage.  Using either prompt opens a bar in the lower part of the screen which then only offers the options of "save" or "cancel." ( So no way to print directly.)  If you attempt to "cancel" it does not respond - just starts the bar blinking a golden color.  If you attempt to "save," it opens to a screen to save to your desktop. When attempting to save at that point, the file will not save, there is no response.  The bar can not be closed, the save to desktop doesn't work, and there is no way out of the loop.  Even when closing or signing out of the website, the bar remains on the screen.  Only by closing and reopening Internet Explorer will the bar disappear.
USPS supervisor and tech persons claim the problem is with IE since their software works with other browsers, e.g. Google Chrome and Foxfire - which I have confirmed. It's just annoying and time consuming to have to exit IE everytime I want to create and print a label.  All other pdf files (whether downloaded from IE or created by myself) will print from IE using Adobe Acrobat Reader, just not the one associated with the USPS. What's astonishing is that the US Post Office doesn't mind that their program doesn't work with the world's most used web browser and they haven't been able to figure out why.  You would think either Microsoft (IE's publisher) and the USPS would want to do a fix.
I have scoured and tested all setup and setting options in the Adobe, IE, USPS software, including roll back to earlier versions and haven't been able to solve it on my own.

  • How can I print address labels from numbers spread sheet

How can I print address labels from numbers spread sheet

    CAB,
The 5163 template has the following dimensional specs:
    Dimensions & Info
    Length: 4.00000"          Height: 2.00000"
Top Margin: 0.50000"          Bottom Margin: 0.50000"
Left Margin: 0.18000"          Right Margin: 0.18000"
Hor. Spacing (gutter): 0.14000"          Vert. Spacing (gutter): 0.00000"
Intended Use: Mailing Labels, Shipping Labels, Address Labels
There's a great vendor site with this data readily available, better than the Avery site in my opinion. But, you can get the same info in the Contacts Print dialog pane.
You can grab a template matching these dimensions from that vendor site, Copy the table after opening the Word Template in Pages and drop the into a blank Numbers Sheet.
I found that Sheet side margins of 0.15" worked better than 0.18. For some reason the table wanted to flow to the next page to the right with 0.18". Turning off the Headers and Footers and setting Top and Bottom Margins to 0.5" worked well. These adjustments are made in the Sheets Inspector.
So, that will put the template you specified into a Numbers document and you can print labels properly aligned from there. Since your problem statement is a bit lacking in detail, that's all I can offer you at this point.

  • Printing avery labels in address book - margins not right

I'm using Address Book to print out labels for my Christmas card envelopes.
    I've got Avery J8173 labels form Staples - 2 columns and 5 rows - 10 labels per A4 sheet.
    My 2 problems are:
I can't print any more than 5 lines per address - no matter what font size I use - this is annoying with a good number of my addresses, but to get round it I put 2 address elements on one line in Address Book - not a big problem.
The other problem is that the left margin of my addresses is barely 2 mm in from the left edge of the label. This doesn't look very professional. Any ideas? If I try to create a custom label I can indent the addresses in the left column by increasing the margin for the whole page, but I can't do anything about the margin in the right hand column
    Any ideas?
I downloaded Avery DesignPro for Mac, but the labels I've got (J8173) aren't listed, and there are no labels in their list which match the dimensions I need. Bet the PC version is better ...

Well it all boils down to the difference between the US and the UK versions of DesignPro. I hadn't realised that I'd downloaded the US version. I trashed this and all associated files and downloaded the UK version, which has all the necessary 'templates' including J8173. Annoyingly the UK version does not have the graphical elements included with the US version. UK Customer Support told me that they were 'working on it' though why that should be such a difficult job when the US version already has this feature is beyond me!
I've still not fathomed why Address Book ...
    a) makes such a mess of printing these labels - margin way too close to left edge of label
    b) doesn't ley you print any more than 5 lines in an address, even when there's plenty of space
    c) doesn't let you include graphical elements on labels.
Thanks, Apple for another bit of half-done software! I won't begin to mention how hard it is to print pictures from iPhoto formatted the way you want - that's for a different forum!

  • Printing Mailing Labels from Address Book

Stupid question, but one that is driving me crazy.
How do you print a sheet of mailing labels from Address Book but when the entire sheet of labels is the SAME label?
I can print labels successfully in address book, can select the label type and number, etc.
However, when I select a single contact, I can't find a way to print up an entire sheet of labels (e.g. 14) of all the same contact - it only prints one label of the single contact.
Please help! I know it must be a simple fix but can't find it anywhere to select as an option.

OK, weird that this morning (one day after you posted this question) I had the same question. I just want to print some return address labels for my own company. While I haven't been able to find a software based way to do it, I did think up a workable (if a bit ridiculous) hack. Copy the address you want to fill the sheet of labels with however many times there are labels on the sheet and select those however many copies and click print! I created 30 copies of my own company's address in Address Book, selected them, and printed a sheet of labels without problem. A bit dumb, but it works!
    Hope that helps.

  • Can not print shipping labels on FedEx with Firefox 4

I print shipping labels from FedEx's website using their ship manager online. Now with Firefox 4 I can not get shipping labels to print with any of my printers. I had to use IE to get it to print a label. I spent almost an hour with FedEx tech support and could not get it to work until I tried it with IE. I have had no problems with previous versions of Firefox.

If you use Quickbooks software, you could try the fix mentioned on the [http://community.intuit.com/posts/cannot-print-shipping-labels-from-ups-or-fedex-shipping-applet Intuit forum] It's the 4th post down.
The Fedex shipping label app was written by [http://quickbooks.intuit.com/product/add_ons/shipping_manager.jsp Quickbooks], so it might work.
Alternatively, maybe one of the Add-ons listed here will work: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=print&cat=all&x=0&y=0 Print Add-ons]

  • Can't print shipping labels

I haven't been able to print a shipping label since yesterday morning, what's going on? I've always had issues with this but never so long. Called customer support, no help. Cleared cache, different browser,... nothing works.

I haven't been able to print shipping labels in three days now. Usually when this happens I simply go to CP's Ship in a Clic, but those geniuses have removed all but domestic  shipping from their online options. Going into the CP outlet is an awful experience and the items are always double in price to ship. What is wrong with Paypal you might ask? You would think they would be in their A-game after being dumped by eBay, but instead of common sense, we get a lower, more indifferent service from them. I phoned them about this problem and was immediately told that she hadn't heard of this problem, then was told that CP was updating it's services and it affects PP, and then told it was an issue that was being 'looked into', although ten seconds earlier she hadn't heard of the problem before. The good old run around.

  • Use Numbers to print Address Labels

I know Excel allows you to export a spreadsheet to print labels with, but being a die-hard Apple guy, there's no way I'm going to fork over that much money for a M$ product when I have a perfectly good spreadsheet app right here.
Does anyone know of a way to use a Numbers spreadsheet to print address labels? I have a list of names and addresses that I want to print on some postcards but I can't seem to find an option to do that.
    Thanks

If I took time to build a script to do the trick it's because I undersatand that some users wish to be able to print labels from an other source than AddressBook.
But, given that, it's not because some users wish to have this feature available that the fact that it isn't is "inacceptable". Remember what is written in Apple Human Interface Guide.
    +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
    Apple Human Interface Guidelines:
    Apply the 80 Percent Solution
During the design process, if you discover problems with your product design, you might consider applying the 80 percent solution—that is, designing your software to meet the needs of at least 80 percent of your users. This type of design typically favors simpler, more elegant approaches to problems.
If you try to design for the 20 percent of your target audience who are power users, your design may not be usable by the other 80 percent of users. Even though that smaller group of power users is likely to have good ideas for features, the majority of your user base may not think in the same way. Involving a broad range of users in your design process can help you find the 80 percent solution.
    -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
It just seems that you doesn't fit in the 80%. Is it serious doctor ?

  • Since Adobe's last update, it will not launch in Firefox-I am trying to print postage on the USPS site-and the printer dialog box is in Adobe-Thanks

I am using Firefox 4.0.1 as my default browser on a laptop running Vista home premium. I routinely print postage on the USPS site. The normal routine is to create a shipping label, click print and pay, wait a couple of seconds as Adobe launches which shows a thumbnail of the label and the setup data for my network printer. Since last weekend's update, Adobe will no longer launch on Firefox but will with IE. Thanks for any solution. /Mike L

When you updated to OS10.9.4, did you do a clean install or an inplace update and migration. The CS3/10.9.4 combination is unsupported and you will be on your own with this. Try running the cleaner tool and reinstalling the CS3 from the original media.

  • Printing DVD labels to Epson Stylus Photo RX700 getting error

    Two Parts
I've got a 800mhz G4 PowerBook running 10.4.11 and I can print to printable CDs/DVDs using either "Epson Print CD" which is HORRIBLE software, or Roxio's Disc Cover RE (Roxio Edition) from Toaster 9 (which is great) with no problems.
When I try to print from my white 24" intel core2duo with 10.5.3 with either of those the Printer Settings are crossed out so I can't select the settings it tells me to in order to print the label for the printable CD or DVD.
I've downloaded the latest print driver from Epson (2.3.1). I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it and I get the same thing. Any ideas?

i have a similar problem and mine just say no drivers availible during the installation.
