Printing problem in seagate crystal report 8

Plz help me to solve this problem
The report in preview mode looks very good when I print it the paper appear not as in the preview mode.
EX. the report in crystal 1 paper . in the printed copy 2 or 3 papers and the design is damaged.
the printer type : HP Laser Jet P2015 Series PCL 5e.

What tool did you use when preview the Crystal Report? In VB6, .Net or etc., If it is development stage what is your printer settings? Dot Matrix or the Laser Printer, this is one of the cause, Try to print in the other printer let see if we have the same result.

Printing PO's using Crystal Report

Hi,
I am printing Purchase order using crystal reports. And when I print single PO, it is printing perfectly and I am printing one PO per page in pre printed stationery. But when I Print Multiple PO's i.e., mass printing, the first record gets printed correctly but when the printer scrolls to second page, the header section jumps one line above and when it scrolls to third page, it jumps two lines above and so on. And I am using continous stationery in dot matrix printer. How to print multiple PO's with Correct page header alignment. (Also I found the same problem when I print A/R Invoice).

Dot matrix printer has the inherated weakness for linefeed control.
You have to change the page setting quite a few times before it can be fit.
If possible, laser printer will be much better. What you see is what you get.

Seagate Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer error '80043ac4'

Website slows down when users are running reports. Users start getting errors when running any crystal report. After sometime main page itself stops loading and only static html is visible. Following is one of the errors users see:

Other errors seen on reporting site at that time are
Active Server pages error 'ASP 0115'
Unexpected error
/opera_mort2/report/rpt_level.asp
A trappable error (C00000005) occurred in an external object. The script cannot continue running.
authentication and network errors.
Rebooting the Web Server temporarily fixes the issue however the error recurs again after a day or two. We are seeing this problem in both our PROD and DR server. There was no change done to either of these boxes recently.
Also at this pint IIS was crashing. Microsoft Support analyzed the crash dumps created from IIS and came up with the following:
"All the memory dumps captured showed the same DLL that was accessing corrupted memory. This same DLL would also be the one that had originally written to those addresses. The DLL was craxdrt.dll from Crystal Reports 8.0 ActiveX Designer, which was version 8.0.1.0 from 1/28/2000. This DLL should be updated to see if this issue has already been fixed. Other options are to recycle IIS more frequently and move to a new version of Crystal Reports."

The issue appears to be heap corruption. Normally these are difficult to troubleshoot, however, in this case every memory dump that I looked at had the same component involved.

This component is from the year 2000 and needs to be updated. I searched our old cases and found several where old version of this component caused the same heap corruption.
Please help as this is a production issue. Please let me know if you need any more information.

Something must have changed. Were any patches or auto updates done to the OS?
CR 8.0 has been out of the support cycle for some time now.
As Microsoft suggested please log in and download the patches for CR 8.0 from:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-support
If that does not resolve the issue the only option will be to schedule sn IIS restart each night.

Save printer to layout in crystal reports XI R2 and windows vista ,7 , 2008

Hi ,
I have a problem with the crystal report design , I use CRXI R2 SP6 and with windows vista , windows 7 and windows server 2008 .
The problem is that when I built the report and I go to set page from file , in the page setup form I don't have the printer select button and so I can't save the printer in the report.
With SO earlier it's all ok.

Error from the seagate Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer

Hi guys,
I get the following message when I running a report application based on Web. The Message is as following:
The Error Message was Error detected by database DLL from Seagate Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem wiht an add-on and needs to close.
the following add-on is running when this problem occured

I think the crystal is old version , the IE is version 7

OK, an upgrade of Oracle causes Crystal Reports to throw "Error detected by database DLL". It may very well be that version 8 report will not be able to run that version of Oracle. E.g.; version 8 of CR will not run Oracle 10 g for sure...
Something to look at; can you run the report in the CR 8 designer when connecting to that updated version of Oracle?
You'll have to locate the platforms.txt file for CR 8 and see what version of Oracle it supported. I do not have a link or even an idea of where that may be as CR 8 has been out of support for soooo long.

Print layout different with crystal report 2008 runtime

Hi,
I have reports which I print on a pre printed stationary. With Crystal report 11.5 run time it works fine.
Now I am using Crystal Report 2008 run time and with this I found that layout on the print is different than the actual layout in the design.
The print with CR 2008 run time is not exactly matching with the pre printed stationary. Whereas it is working fine with the 11.5 run time.
Can anyone please help?

Problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on windows application ("specified type is not valid ")

I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
Please see the Code sample below.

VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

ele esta em producao fazendo a consulta em um servidor mas quando eu acesso passando parametro connectionInfo.ServerName = <endereco do servidor> para um servidor de teste pelo VStudio 2005, ele nao busca os dados deste e continua acessando o servidor de producao.
gostaria de saber como consertar isso

Good afternoon, I have a problem with the crystal reports XI. him this in production making the consultation in a servant but when I access passing parameter connectionInfo.ServerName = I address of the servant > for a test servant for VStudio 2005, he doesn't look for the data of this and it continues accessing the production servant.

Fabiano, here is what I understand of the issue:
1) You are using CR XI (I am not sure if release 1 or release 2)
2) you are using .NET 2005
3) you are trying to change the server name, but the report keeps giving you data from the original server
Please answer the following:
1) Are you using CR XI release 1 or release 2?
2) Can you change to the new server, using the Crystal Reports Designer?
3) Can you duplicate the issue on your development computer?
4) What Crystal Reports service pack are you on?
5) Are you connecting to the database using OLE DB?

Printing font Barcode3of9 from Crystal Reports XI

I have an issue with printing font Barcode3of9 from Crystal Reports XI utilizing Manhattan Associates Performance Management (PM) UI application.
The font is applied to a field that is converted from a number to a text using the CStr formula in Crystal Reports XI in order to display the value as a barcode.
The barcode on the report is converted successfully in the PM UI 100% of the time. However the business tries to print the report using the print or the export the report functions and the barcode is not converted 100% of the time into a barcode only the value of the field displays.
The font is installed on the server that the business accesses and I have installed the font on the web server for our testing environment, but it still does not aide with fixing the issue.
Does anybody have any experience with this issue?

Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error

I am using Crystal reports Version 8 and frequently get the error 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' when I try to open a previously working crystal report file. The error occurs when I click on the Database menu. Every time I get this error I end up redesigning the report as the I have not yet found a solution and I cant run the report.
The error is a message box with the title 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' and an ok button - nothing else.
Its very frustrating!

What database are you using and how are you connecting to it?
What are you clicking in the Database menu: Set Location, Verify Database, Show SQL Query?
Before opening the report, can you connect to the database first then open the report?
I would have expected an error code or a more descriptive error to follow.

VS2010 will support Seagate crystal report 6.0?

This is to inform you that we are currently using the VC++ 6.0 and Seagate Crystal Reports 6.0 in our application and we are successfully upgraded vc++ 6.0 to VS 2010.
but We tried Seagate Crystal report 6.0 to lastest version ,but rewrite application in our side , so we won't possible to rewrite application.
My question is, VS2010 will support Seagate crystal report 6.0?

Hi Esha,
VS supports Managed Code now, using unmanaged C++ code may or may not work. As we've all told you, CR 6 is 12 years old now and it had no concept of Visual Studio 2010 or managed C+. It's still c+ so if you get it working then great, if not there is absolutely nothing we can do for you. There should be no reason it won't work as long as the C++ dependencies included with VS 2010 still supports 1997 VS 5/6 C++ runtime. If those dependencies are not available then Cr likely won't work.
For the last time, upgrade to CR for VS 2010 and move to CR Assemblies, you can still write and use CR in Managed C+, lots of people do, we don't have any samples for you though. Lot's of C# samples which is MS's replacement for unmanaged C+.

Bottom line is we can't Confirm if it will work, you are mixing 1998 and 2011 technologies so there is absolutely no guarantee from SAP this will ever work and you will never get one from SAP. You are on your own....
There are so many reasons why it likely won't work to list, OS's, DB clients, Windows Dependencies, SECURITY, to name a few that even if it did work does your Company want to sell and support something that if your users have issues there is no way of ever getting it fixed?
Seriously, It's time to talk to your Product team and catch up with current technologies and Crystal Reports.

Jesus, I can understand this is a shrinking planet, Global community, and all that happy horse pucky. Typos or small grammar errors are no big deal, I make them all the time. But when I have to spend more time interpretting the question than figuring out the answer, it drives me crazy.

Problems printing pdfs generated by Crystal Reports X

The printers in our office area were recently upgraded to Xerox Work Centre 5632 printers using Managed Print Service. We are now having issues printing reports from within the application to any of these newly defined printers. The Arial font, which is commonly used on the majority of our report templates, is displaying as a series of squares with readable letters or numbers thrown in randomly. I don't know if the issue is limited to Arial, or if other fonts behave similarly. I have tried to print several different reports to several different print servers and printer combinations, all with the same result. When viewing the report online, or saving as PDF and viewing, it looks fine. If we save the report as a PDF, then select "print as an image" (on the advanced tab of the print menu), the report will print correctly.
Is there any way to either change the report design or a setting in Crystal Reports to prevent this from happening ? This problem did not occur when using a different printer.

This is not a Crystal Reports issue. It is a printer (or printer driver) issue. Does the printer support Arial font???
