Printing problem in Web-templates

Can you please help me out with my WAD printing issue, please?
I have some reports designed in SAP BI using WAD. Some of the reports have data tables, where as others have data tables as well as graphs in them.
When I right click the reports with graphs and data tables, and choose option "Print Version" from the context menu, (to generate a PDF) I get a standard pop-up (where I can do my print settings), but after I click OK, I donot get the pdf generated out of the report.
The funny thing is that the printing (pdfs) works OK when there are just data tables in the report. I have checked the properties of Web-items/web-templates but havnt found anything wrong with the setting.
There is no setting as such for printing/generating pdfs that I could find for web-templates.
Have you had such a problem before? Can you help please?

PS: There are some other reports which my colleagues have developed for another sub project and the printing works absolutely fine !

Hi,
Since PDF print is working for tables,it looks you have ADS installed correctly.
I would ask you to refer to note 1069368 and check the supported and unsupported PDF prints.If this does not resolve the issue then as per note 1052659,check the default trace file.This should give a vital information on what exactly the issue is.

Problem applying web template

We've recently upgraded from SharePoint 2010 to 2013. We created a new site under the 2013 environment then created a template from it. When we try to apply that template to a new site we get the following error:

It then list the following features as not installed:
List Feature
Module Feature
Web EventReceivers Feature
Property Bag Feature
Here is a screenshot of the error
We haven't noticed any other issue up to this point. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

Problem with web template (WAD ) in BI7

Hi All ,
I have designed a web template where i have added a buttongroup which contains some buttons like open,save as, print,export to excel,filter,settings where in some of the buttons functionality is not working properly
Those are Filter,Open,Settings.
Iam not sure whether iam have choosen the right command for these buttons.Can any one give a solution for this.
Note :-These buttons functionality should be same like the buttons when we run a bex report in Portal ( we get all the above buttons in portal )

Problems displaying Web Templates in Enterprise Portal

Hi folks,
I'm trying to create an iView showing a BI-Webtemplate. Both systems, the BI and the EP are running on different servers in the same domain and are both using Netweaver 7.0.
I've created a new system using the "SAP System Dedicated Application Server"-Template. I've also configured all necessary options for a connection via the WAS and logon with UIDPWD. The connection test also succeeds.
From the Web Application Designer I got the following URL to my web template:
http://<domain>:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=Z_BL_GP_RW_01&DUMMY=1
I've then created an iView (BEx Web Application iView (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Format)) pasting TEMPLATE=Z_BL_GP_RW_01&DUMMY=1 as web application query string and entered the correct system alias.
The problem is, when previewing I can enter my credentials but then I receive a 404 error. It's not that the template isn't there, the URL generated by the portal to call the template is wrong, because the wrong port is used. The generated URL is:
http://<domain>:8000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher
Well, it's the right port for the WAS, but apparently not the right port for the web template which should be 50000. When I set the the port in the system configuration for the WAS to 50000, the connection test fails, but I don't get a 404 error when previewing the iView. Nonetheless the template is not displayed correctly...
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Logon to the BI system and go to transaction SE37 and execute RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET to get the portnumber, try applying this and test your iview again.
If this does not resolve the issue I suggest you to refer to SAP Note 937697 - Usage of SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool, it is a pretty simple tool and helps in resolving most issues with regards to BI Portal integration.

Problem with Web Template

Hi,
We are facing some problem in WAD.
We have developed some reports based on views and as well on queries.
As per our requirement we merged all the reports in a Standard web Template, and we are using table and graph as web items for the template, here the user can select any report becoz we have query selection option, then it will display the particular report. But we are getting the problem with the Template.
While publishing the template we will get three tabs 1.DATA ANALYSIS, 2. GRAPHICAL DISPLAY 3.INFORMATION. in the initial screen that means in the DATA ANALYSIS tab it should display only the table, but in our case it is displaying both table and graph.
And also if you select graphical tab then that should highlight the particular tab and with the particular graph, but the tabs is not highlighting when you selecting that.
If you have any solutions please let us know.

I have having almost similar problem. The difference is that it is other way around.
The problem is from Development server instead from production. I am not using slandered template.
I have done following but fail to resolve it-
1) Loading templates using WAD gives inconsistency error. Object "...." is inconsistent.
Recalling query in QD returns following two errors "BEx transport request is not available or not suitable 0", "Choose an existing request 0"
2) While running the query using TX RSRT2 (Query Monitor support package X), returns error "An error has occurred in the script of this page" Line 11039, Char 1, Error Access is denied and so on...
3) ICM ok, Services are checked.
4) SM50 log does not give any clues
5) There is no URL issue.
6) BW Functionalities are active.
Could some suggest?

Problem with web template calling another template

Hi all,
We have a Web template which when gets executed displays result in table form.Now one of the fields in that table is Europe. My requirement is when i click on that field Europe it should execute another web template that was designed for Europe.How do i link this field to another template?

Hi Suchitra,
     You can't create link between a field and a query view. You can change your template by using the tab strip, so that each tab will give you the details of different country.
    Or else, you can use buttons to navigate from one query to the another.
Steps:-
Button -Right Click -Data Provider- specific command -select the query - ok
    You can also use hyperlink in BEx to move from workbook to the another.

Variant Problem in Web Template Precalculation IMP

I am having a peculiar issue with Reporting Agent in Precalculation of Web Template.
I created a web template for my query, had all relevant options set in Reporting Agent and scheduled the package. I also created a variant(ZVARIANT_1) for the main query(no control query used/needed).
When the job is scheduled, it takes close to 2 hours to precalculate. When I fire up this URL:
http://app_server:1080/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=TEMPLATE_NAME&VARIANT=ZVARIANT_1&DATA_MODE=STORED
I get, No Precalculated data found for DP.
But instead if I insert the variables individual values in the URL by using the code given by clicking the "Add URL parameter" Green button, it gives an editor screen with variables initialized and assigned, I get the static report I want.
1) Why cant I use a variant, or am I missing something?
2) Why do I get filter & drill down options and variable screen only in stored mode but not in hybrid mode?

Printing problem in Web report (PDF)

Hi All,
I have got a report in 6i, which is running fine on web as PDF file. But when i give print command to that report, it throws an error 'Could not start print Job'. This message comes from 'Adobe Reader'.
Please guide me to resolve this problem.

I have resolved this, there are two ways to do it.
1. Save the report to hard drive & then give print out.
2. Reduce the length of URL less then 254 it will work

PDF printing problem using generic template

Good Morining,
I am having problems displaying mulitple rows in my report heading in my pdf report.
ex:
      Report Name
       Reported as of :       15-JAN-2014
       # of Units:                  All Units
       Compoment Type:   All
This displays correctly on the Oracle Hosted site. On my site I will only see the first 2 lines and everything else gets cut off.
I am currently using Apex 4.2.2.00.11.

All SAP said was review note 1993576 ... which I did, and that requires SP13 to be implemente, which is not available yet.
I imported the note in transaction SNOTE, but still I only get the first line of my headings appearing

Print Preview in web report problem

After Clicking Print buttonn on the web report, i select Print Preview from IE Explorer and here the variable values passed to the print function in web template, are getting displayed and actually it is part of URL , getting displayed in the Print Preview.
any ideas ..
i have already cleared the value of title and footer in page setup.
and this is a junk data in the header in the print preview
it will be something like this,
User%20ID:%xyz%20printed%20 etc...
actually i am passing below values to the print function,
&P_FOOTER_RIGHT='+SYUSER + '&P_HEADER_LEFT='+REPTXTLG +
'&P_FOOTER_LEFT=' +INFOCUBE

Do you use a field for coloring a column or cell?
If the coding is not too large it could be helpfull to post the coding as well.

Problem with Viewing Web templates

Hi,
Iam facing problem with web template view which is designed.it is giving error even in preview mode and even on web.
I would like to know which particular service in Sicf is needed to activate so that i can work with webtemplates in preview mode and in web mode.

<application Name> i didn't get exactly what you mean iam seeing lot of services inside here,which service in particular i need to activate..
If iam trying to test any service as they are some in active state .iam getting an error message that ICMAN not active.

Order of Input-Variables in Web Template

Hi,
I have a problem with Web Templates. I have prepared Web Templates in BI 7.0 WAD in which I am displaying multiple queries. Some input variables are common to all queries and some are only in the main query. I have set the correct order of the input vars in the main query, but when I run the Web Template, I get the common variables first and then the rest which is not okay for me.
Can anybody suggest how to overcome this problem? And display the variables in the order I want in the Web Template?

Why dont you insert a table in the WAD template and move the "buttons/variables" into the table rows/columns in the order you want them to appear.

WAD, execution of Web Template doesn't work

HI,
I have a problem with Web Template created with Web Application Designer.
If I publish webtemplates to the portal,
it works correctly, I can see my webtemplate on the portal.
if I execute it from Web Application Designer,
I see only a general report with buttons for: New Analysis, Open, Save as, Display as, etc...
but not my webtemplate.
I tried to execute many different webtemplates (custom and standard) but I saw always the same thing!
I don't know why, but the results are the same for:
     ....2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=myWebTemplate
     ....2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=StandardTemplate
and also if the link to the portal is like these:
     ....2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=
     ....2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?

I resolved my problem!
In the Content Administration of the portal:
-Portal Content
--Content Provided by SAP
---Platform Add-Ons
Business Intelligence
iViews
BEx Web... right click, Open -> Object
I've deleted the value in the property "BEx Web Application Query String", I put in it nothing.
Now, it works!

Web template not showing "force variable property" under generic tab

I have a problem regarding web template property.One web template is not showing "force variable" property under generic tab in DEVELOPMENT sys but the same web template showing "force variable" property in QUALITY sys.I want property in DEV sys also.

Hi Priyesh,
Are you sure youhave the web template properties open and not those of any web item in this template? If you can;t find the option you can try coding it in HTML (look at the code in the Q system and copy - paste it into your template in Dev)

Use two different printer services in one web template?

Is it possible to use two different help services for printing in the same web template (for the same table item)?
Print1:

I was thinking that you maybe could change the param name values for the "Help_service" and the "help_service_class" at runtime using the properties for the table item, so that you could choose which one to use, but I havne't been able to do that so far.
Does anyone have an idea?

This is not a problem. Just put the print service for the print to excel on an object other than the table web item. As long as these print services exist on any web item, you should be able to invoke them. I've tested this with putting the "Print with Excel" service on the Navigation Block Web Item and the other print service on the table web item. Hope that helps!
