Printing problems from iPhoto 6
For some odd reason I just can not print anything from iPhoto 6, it goes through the processes of printing, then brings up the Printer utility as if it's ABOUT to print, but then it fails and the Printer utility simply goes to "Jobs Stopped" without any further details as to WHY it stopped.
I can however print from all other apps, and even saving image to PDF, then print the PDF from Preview works...
What's going on?

I can no longer print photos from iPhoto.
When I try to print photos from iPhoto, I get the error message: There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable. The solution offered by iPhoto help is ridiculous as it assumes that you can get past the error message and on to the option to choose a theme. No so. The error message is the end of the road. This is a new problem for me. Apparently there was an automatic update and now I am updated to no longer being able to print my own photos. Apparently (according to traffic on Google) this is not a new issue, but I haven't seen a solution. Can't deny that I am royally ****** off.

I am using iphoto 6.06 for my intel imac. I have been trying to print pictures from iphoto and i keep getting a message that states " unreadable file: the following file could not be imported. the file is in the iphoto library folder" also when i try to print a picture from iphoto i get a message that says "no page was selected"
not sure what happened but i can pnly print when i drop the photo onto my desktop as an 8.5 x 11 size picture and i am trying to print 4x6'sSince the new library gives you the same message log into another user account on your Mac and see if you can run iPhoto without getting that message. If you get that message there also a reinstall of iPhoto seems indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all available updates to it. -
Why do i get lines when i print photos from iphoto
does anyone know why i get lines across my photos when i print them from iphoto to my HP printer. Photos are ok when i print from iphone or other? seems to have something to do with Iphoto??
Go to your imports for the last 12 months then click on view>sort photos by date, that should group them together. Click on the first picture in the group, then hold down your shift key then click on the last picture it should select all in between, then delete and empty trash.

Reverse & Print Image from iPhoto?
How do I reverse/flip an image and print it from iPhoto?
I tried another way as well....I have been able to save to desktop from iphoto....view in Preview & flip that image using Preview Tools, but I am unable to print the reversed image from Preview.
So, the ultimately question remains...*Can you reverse an image in iPhoto and print it?*

However, when I try to print the edited image, which is still under the preview option, it pulls the original image from iPhoto.

"The easiest way to do this is in the Tools menu in Preview. You can set Preview as an external editor, or use an image editor for the job.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
Note that iPhoto sends a copy+ of the file to Photoshop, so when you save be sure to use the Save command, not Save As... If you use Save As then you're creating a new file and iPhoto has no way of knowing about this new file. iPhoto is preserving your original anyway." -
Hi-I am trying to print pictures from iphoto. I selected a picture and tried file-print. But instead of giving me size/layout options, it gave me a message, "no available themes". Not sure what to do next--something I need to install?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -
Where can I find the themes, possibly formats, for printing photos for Iphotos? Are these still being used or have they been upgraded to another program such as ilife?
You'll need to reinstall iPhoto. If you MBP came with Lion preinstalled move the iPhoto applicaiton to the Trash bin in the Dock, go to the App Store, go to Purchases, download and reinstall iPhoto.

Can't Print Book from iPhoto or Preview, but Can Print from Adobe Accrobat
I have spent 2.5 hours on the phone with HP, an am now unsure if the problem is with HP or Apple.
When I try to print a single page from an iPhoto Book (or a group of pages), I receive an error message on the HP 4650 printer (49.4C02). I saved the book as a PDF and tried to print from Preview with the same results. I then opened the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat and WAS able to print. I am able to print individual photos from iPhoto.
I searched this discussion board for problems printing to the HP 4650. One suggestion was to use the driver for the HP 4600. I tired that and it produced the same error on the printer.
Using Adobe Acrobat is a viable work-a-round, but I am curious why I cannot print a book from iPhoto. Any thoughts as to why Adobe Acrobat works and iPhoto and Preview do not?

Printing problems from Photoshop Elements to Epson XP-800
I cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem. The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi. I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded. This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
Any suggestions for solving this rather than just a workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
Grateful for any help.

I have a macbook pro w exisitng iPhoto library. I now have Canon printer and loaded Canon software for same. I cannot access iPhoto library for use from Canon software. I can print from iPhoto directly to new printer without problem. How can I use iPhoto library with Canon software? I would like to try the software to see which I prefer...
Simply export some photos from iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and experiment.
Without telling us even what this program is, not to mind what it does, that's the best anyone can suggest.

I have been trying to print 5x7 pictures (or other various sizes) from my iPhoto library, but the printer is printing the actual iPhoto page (i.e., the menu column on the left which includes the listing of events, albums, etc. is actually printing along with any photo thumbnails that can fit on the page) Does anyone know if this is a printer problem or and iPhoto problem?

If you see the actual iPhoto window with the sidebar and everything when you print, that would quality as "super weird" in my book. I'm assuming when you go to File > Print you see "iPhoto" in the upper left hand corner right next to the Apple yes?
Lets try the basics:
Ensure all your software is up to date (Apple Menu > Software Update).
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
Home > Library > Caches (I remove the whole folder. It will be re-generated upon restart.)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)

Cannot Print book from iphoto (network issue)
I cannot get a book to print from iphoto or access itunes music store through my school network. My school has a PC network, I am the only teacher to use macs in my classroom. I can access the music store through XP on parallels so I know the network connection is good. I believe the problem is a network setting either on my macbook or in our server. Our Tech cannot identify the problem. I just updated all applications to the latest versions.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. -
When printing photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 with my HP inkjet printer the multitude of colors in the photos are reduced to two, Magenta and Yellow. If the photos are exported to my desktop (MacPro) and printed from Preview, the colors in the prints are fine. How do I get iPhoto to print the colors correctly?

What settings did you use in the Export Dialogue?
When you go File -> Export you get a tabbed box with various options. In the File Export tab you can choose to scale the pics, or keep them the same size, change or retain the format.

Printing problem with iPhoto 9.5.1 under Mavericks 10.9.3
When trying to print even a single photo from iPhoto, the printer hangs after competing about 10% of the job.
The printer is an HP Deskjet F4580. It still works fine from other apps.The printer.
iPhoto is still active and I can do other things with it. The job has been sent tothe printer so I guess it's the printer where the problme lies, or the communication between the Mac and the printer (which is wireless, though that shouldn't make a difference). -
When I try to print photos in Iphoto 11 I get a message saying there are no themes installed and it will not let me print. This never happened in previous Iphoto versions and there is no link to get themes. How can I get these themes?
