Printing problems Photoshop CS6

When I am trying to print (Espon r 3000) I'll get the following message: There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.
I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Epson (no result). I uninstalled Photoshop and reinstalled the latest version, with  no result (the message keeps coming back). Printing from other programs is no problem!
Opening 'printers and scanners' shows the Epson with the green dot, but marked as 'inactive'. My system: Apple OS X 10.9.5 .
There must be a wizard out there who can solve this problem!
Regards, Joep

I just tried it again, with the file I sent you..with this result..

Having problems printing from photoshop cs6 the colors are way off. How do you collebrate the printer to print whats on screen?

you are going to have to try and match your printer colors to the image colors. many questions involving color management and your settings in PS: is CMYK set? set your "printer handles colors"?
    for color management:
    1. calibrate and profile your monitor
    2. set up an image color space
    3. configure your printer driver for the print.

  • I can't print with Photoshop cs6.

I can't print with Photoshop (CS6). My printer (HP iP6700D) works correct with every program, except Photoshop. When I choose File>Print, there appears only an error-message. And the command-line turns into grey.

In the meanwhile I detected the problem. I made a new user account in windows and now it works correctly. So it isn't a photoshop problem but probably a register error. I have to find out furtherThanks for your reaction.

  • I can not longer print from photoshop CS6

I get an error message when I try to print from photoshop CS6
    Nothing I've done has helped.

These suggestions are not the problem and I have contacted HP and they have run all the diagnostics and they say the problem is not with the printer or the software. All other browsers print, just not Mozilla

  • Why am I having problems printing with Photoshop CS6?

My problems started when I upgraded to Adobe CS6. Colors are off, and prints are dull, almost murky. I thought it was the printer at first, so I swapped out all my ink (big mistake), cleaned the print heads (another mistake). None of these measures were necessary. I adjusted my CS6 color settings based on advice from sources like Linda.com. No improvement. Finally I saved my Photoshop file as a flat Tiff and printed from Mac Preview. The print was gorgeous! CS6 is the problem, I just don't know how to fix it. I'd hate to have to use Preview everytime I want to print from Photoshop. The printer is fine, the paper is fine, changing RGB settings doesn't help. Any ideas?
    Later that same day:
I think I figured out a simple solution. When I selected the printing option to allow the printer to control color, rather than Photoshop, my print came out better. I've been reading threads all over the tubes and no one suggested that

Yes you solved your own question, use printer handles color, whcih shodul have been the default. If you do want to experiment with Photohsop manages color, try the CMYK profiles, and send a cmyk file. Only exception is if you print to one of the few RGB printers like a lambda.

  • Photoshop Help | Printing from Photoshop CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/printing-photoshop1.html

My CS6 has crashed several times due to this issue - and I've barely had it a week or so.  Usually it happens when I try to print to a PDF.  I think there is a major bug in the program and it happened several months ago after a Windows 7 update - I still had CS4 and my adobe acrobat 9 pro crashed when trying to print to the Adobe PDF printer, it would just lock up the whole system and I would have to do a cold re-boot (hold down the power key).  I need this functionality - to be able to print to Adobe PDF printer.  What happened with this printers ability?  I've seen many posts on this same issue, so I'm curious as to why it hasn't gotten more attention from Adobe.  I upgraded to CS6 thinking this would solve the problem, and it hasn't helped, I wouldn't have spent the money if I knew it wasn't going to help.  I'm totally bummed out about this.

  • Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer ejects 3.8 in of a 4X6 paper and prints only 2.2 in of the image printing from Photoshop CS6, I'm sure I set everything correctly - what could I be missing?

Using Mac Pro running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) & editing & printing from Photoshop CS 6.
Have new Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer and set it up yesterday.  First thing printed was a
document from MS Word (a letter) 8.5 X 11 plain paper - this came out OK.  Next I fire up
Photoshop and open a 4 X 6 inch image to do a test print.  I set it up in the print dialog as
4X6 paper, Canon's Pro Glossy paper profile, rear tray, standard print quality, Photoshop
manages the color.  I load the paper in the rear tray close the covers and hit print.  Now, when
it starts to print the printer moves about 3.8 inches of paper out of the printer and starts printing
on the remaining 2.2 inches then spits the paper out.  It does this in Photoshop (any image it doesn't
matter), and it does it printing from Capture NX.  I have been able to get it to print on the paper
correctly using Apple's Preview program but that that's not going to do me any good.  I was on
the phone with Canon tech support for about 2 hours and they were completely puzzled suggesting
I would have to use Canon's printing apps instead to print - that doesn't do me any good either.
I want to be able to print from Photoshop.  Any one every heard of this or experienced the same
    problem? Thanks JamesD!

Hello again. I recognize that a print is good if you like it and bad if you don't, despite what others might say, but I will at least share my experiences. They might help you or others who are following this thread.
My monitor is calibrated with Spyder 3. Gamma 2.2, 6500K, 83 cd/m^2. Contrast at 50%; brightness about 52%. My monitor lets me choose blackness level - it defaults to 50%.
When I print the test image I linked to above, using Lightroom, with no adjustments, my technical output is as follows:
Middle step wedge shows twelve disticnt steps. Whitest step is color of unprinted paper.
It varies from paper to paper, but I can discerne at least the 252 step and on some papers 253 - telling me I have good highlight detail.
On the black side I discerne 8 or 10, nothing lower. (That sounds like what you are reporting).
Artistically I am very happy how my print looks - nice red strawberries, good flesh tones, etc.
One my monitor, the on-screen image is almost identical to the print. I am surprised that you can see the 2 wedge step on screen at a very similar brightness.
I also checked out this B&W test image:
    http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/bw_printing/bw-test-image-2.html
You are probably aware of this since you are printing with Print Studio Pro, but others may not be.
You can print a series of test images:
find the one that best suits your taste, enter the calibration values in PSP, and save them as a custom setting. Then, each time you want to print recall the setting.
You can do a similar thing in Lightroom using the printer driver and User Templates.
There would be some one-time trial and error to that approach.

  • Academic Verification Problem Photoshop CS6

I purchased Photoshop CS6 Academic Download from Amazon.com. The Adobe academic verification keeps rejecting the product code provided by Amazon. What can I do?
    I am on Mac 10.7.3.

Yea Amazon is a tricky one because depending on how you purchase the software they may or may not be an authorized reseller.  There is really nothing more which we can do though within the forum.  I would recommend having your proof of purchase ready and contacting our support team.  For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.  Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you have described.

  • Problems printing from Photoshop CS6 on Epson 9890

I don't know why when my partners print on this plotter, it makes some blank spaces and not is head cleaning because my partners do it and continue having trouble with it. If someone knows about it, please let me know. Oh, we are using Adobe CS6 Bundle. Thanks.

In conjunction with Jeff's suggestion, I suggest that you remove all of Epson's preferences for your preference folder especially if you are experience some other issues with other software. And especially if you have 10.6.1 installed.

  • CS5 color print problem using CS6

I upgraded from CS5 on XP to CS6 hosted on Windows 7, 64 bit.  Images loaded into my new CS6 system from my camera or the web display and print perfectly. I am using the same printer for CS6 as I did for CS5, an Epson 3800.  However, when I open and print older CS5 generated images using CS6, the images print with what appears to be reversed grey tones and off color but the monitor displayed colors appear just as good as they did on CS5. In summary, images generated in CS6 print ok, but images generated under my old CS5 system print with off colors using CS6 but display ok.  Thanks for your suggestions and help.

  • When I print in Photoshop CS6 the image prints narrower than stated image dimension.

When I make a print from CS6 the image on paper is narrower than the stated dimension in the program. The height of the image is faithfully reproduced. I know that there must be a preference setting to correct this but I can't remember which one it is.

I just finished watching a segment of Luminous Landscape's Camera to Print and Screen 2 video series on printing to canvas. Problem Solved;  I feel foolish that I didn't mention that I was printing-on-canvas as the solution to my dilemma would have been obvious. I measured a canvas print that I did last week and it has shrunk even more than when I first measured it. I have since printed large images on Epson enhanced matte and the dimensions were spot on. Thank you for your responses and great job on the video.

  • Can't print from Photoshop CS6

I'm on an Intel Mac running OSX 10.8.4 and Photoshop stopped printing to my Brother HL-5050 laser printer. No error messages, no dialogue boxes, it simply prints a blank sheet of paper. I can print from Acrobat, Pages, Word, and Illustrator, but not PS. I tried the usual suspects-trashed the prefs, restarted, replaced the Brother printer drivers, but nothing works.
However, If I switch to a different login ID, I can print normally. That, I assume, means that there's some combination of parts and conditions in my user preferences that are causing the problem, so what are my options? What is the simplest way to get around this problem?

    Hi Birk,
Wait, did you try just clearing your Photoshop preferences? If you haven't I'd do that first since that's easiest:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-mos t-issues.html#Preferences
If that doesn't allow you to print, I'd confirm that a new Admin user account allows you to print:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-mos t-issues.html#Permissions
If that does allow you to print, you can try and repair permissions, but as I note in the link above, it's not always bulletproof way to correct permissions. You may just need to bite the bullet and create a new user account if Repair Permissions doesn't correct it.
