Printing problems to ir C2880 canon printer!!!!

Hi There,
I have a MacBook Pro OS X Lion 10.7.5 I have recently installed the ir C2880 drivers for my Mac and everything "Seems" ok but when i go to print it just prints gibberish. Any clues on how i can fix this.
When I installed the printer i put in the network location and it automatically detected it as a "Generic Postscript Printer" however if i change the driver it no longer prints.

OK, well, you're going to want to do yourself the favor of learning color-management.
LR is forcing a crash course in color-management on a lot of people.
Given that no one in their right mind could sit on these forums and advise every person separately (this is why books are written!), please buy and read Andrew Rodney's book on Color Management:

Photoshop by itself cannot process raw image data. That is why the Camera Raw plug-in was developed. You could try the DNG converter and convert your images to the DNG format and then the Camera Raw that you have would be able to open them. I can't recommend Lightroom because you are using Vista, and Lightroom 5 cannot be used with that operating system. It may be time for you to get a new computer and upgrade your software.

Problem finding driver for Canon iP4500 for network printing

I'm using a DLink DPR-1260 as a print server which I share between OSX and Windows boxen. I've installed the appropriate Canon iP4500 drivers on my Mac and if I attach the printer directly via USB everything is good. However, as it's a shared device I'd prefer to access it over the print server. The problem is that I can't get the Canon drivers to appear when I use it in that mode; all the regular Gutenprint options appear but that doesn't include this particular model. I'm guessing that Canon has written them such that they only work when directly connected, but is there a way around this?

Borderless printing problems - Aperture 2.1/Canon Pro9000 II

Problem: photos don't print borderless. I have selected the appropriate paper from the "paper size" dialog (in my case, "4x6 borderless"). Things used to behave nicely but something has changed after Snow Leopard. The "calibrate" settings do not solve the problem. The border appears only on two edges of the print and the calibrate settings can't move it back. Other software (Preview, Photoshop, etc.) print borderless without issue. Anyone else out there having a similar issue?

I also have struggled with the borderless printing problem. Tried calibration has some unpredictable results. Tried preview, pretty much the same problem. Spent much time, ink and paper to come up with a solution I can live with. I accidentally printed a borderless 4x6 that actually had a 1/8 inch white border all the way around, not the borderless print i had intended but one that i can live with until there is a SL fix or a Aperture fix... I am just waiting. This is just one of many print problems since installing SL.

Hi - my problem relates to my Canon Pixma MP560 printer. Other solutions found in the community threads have not helped.

Like other community users that have encountered this in the past, all was well until about 3 months ago when I started to get a communication error message intermittently. I managed to resolve this by following the solutions I managed to find in the community posts however, this problem has now started again but worse in that once I have resolved, I print one document and the very next time I try to print, I get the error message and have to remove and reinstall the printer to get it going again - really frustrating. I know the wi-fi works fine as all other devices linked through it work as required. The printer itself is OK because we can print with no problems from a Windows laptop we have. Haven't been able to find any other posts where the problem is similar so hope someone out there can help and if you can, I would really appreciate instuctions to be in simple terms as I am really not technically astute!

Problems with AEX, a Canon PIXMA MP530 and German 1&1/Telekom DSL

Got a new printer today - a Canon PIXMA MP530. It prints directy via USB.
I would like to use it connected to by Airport Express.
I know, only the printing will work - that's okay for now.
It does print, if I use the AEX Firmware version 6.3.
Unfortunately though, with 6.3 my DSL connection with German Telekom and 1&1 ceases to work.
Going back to Firmware 6.1.1 my DSL is back on, but as soon as I connect the USB cable to the printer, nothing goes: neither printing, nor DSL.
Any advise?

And while I'm not expecting my MP780's scanning feature to work via the AEBS, I would expect--and I think reasonably so--for the print function to at least work.
I'm just hoping that it's a matter of an update to the driver or firmware to get it to work as intended.

Problems in connecting to canon IR C 3220

Hi guys.. have 2 canon printing machine with me one is canon image runner 6000 and one is a IR C 3220..tried almost a million times to connect to these machines but no luck at all..Can anyone guide me from the scratch to setup these machines to my mac book pro OS X Marveicks. I tried downloading the respective drivers for the machine also but all in vain. it will be a great help..

If you are connecting the Ethernet cable from the printer directly to the Mac then you will have to set a manual IP address on the Mac's Eithernet port and on the Canon.
If the Canon and the Mac are connecting to a network where there is a DHCP server or a router that can provide IP addresses to connected devices, then you can set the Canon to DHCP.

The IP address that you enter will be the IP address used by the Canon. So in the scenario where you set a manual IP address in the Canon, then you would enter this IP address in the Printers & Scanners > Add Printer > IP window.
As for the Use menu, if you have installed the Canon PS driver, then for the C3220 you would select the entry shown as "Canon iR C3220 PS"

You can check if the Canon PS driver has been installed on the Mac by navigating to the Canon folder located in Library > Printers. Here you should see a folder called "CUPSPS2".
If you are not sure how to get to the Canon folder, with Finder open click on Go then Go to Folder. Then type (or copy) the following
/Library/Printers/Canon
and then click the Go button. This will take you to the Canon folder and here you should see the CUPSPS2 folder.

Okay. That confirms you are using the internal Canon print controller and not the optional imagePASS print controller. So you have the correct driver. You just need to get the copier configured with an IP address that is correct for your network and then you can add the printer.

Photo problems between iphoto and Canon Digital Photo Professional

Hey people,
So I've copied all my photos from my SD card and iphoto asked if I wanted to import them so I said yes. I've put them in folders, albums etc and have since installed my Canon software for its editing programme but cannot seem to open my photos in it.
The folder 'iphoto' in the finder or 'all images' aren't available when browsing in the Canon programme, and I cannot drag and drop them into it from the all images folder. The only way I've found to open them in the Canon programme is to copy them and put them into a new folder and having 2 copies of the same photo.
Is there a way of being able to access the photos in both programmes, such as creating a single shared folder with the photos in and then setting them both to have access to it?
Any help would be great!

Recent Problem Scanning with a Canon Lide 600F

Hello, I'm using Acrobat v10.1.9 on a Windows 7 64Bits OS and with a Canon 600F Scanner (latest drivers installed).
During few weeks after a fresh installed I was able to use my Canon with Acrobat X. The scanner was recognized and I was able to put some presets etc...
Since today, and perhaps after an Acrobat update, the scanner is not recognized and no communication can be settled. I'm able to use the scanner through WIA interface but is is very limited compared to what I used to have !
I uninstalled the drivers of the Scanner and Acrobat and reinstalled but still the same problem : the scanner is not recognized by Acrobat (only in WIA).
The scanner works perfectly and is fully recongized by other software that can use it in normal mode and not through WIA.
Did somebody had this problem and succeeed in solving it ?

Problem Importing photos from Canon Rebel XTi -- Iphoto '08

When I plug in USB cord to camera and MacBook, then turn on my Canon Rebel XTi, iPhoto opens up but will not read the CF card. The status light on the camera just blinks red as if it working on it but it never does show the photos in iPhoto08 and the camera doesn't show up on the sidebar either although it used to but doesn't anymore.
I know that my CF card is ok because when I use it in my Canon Powershot S400 it works fine, and I'm able to import photos fine.
Help please?

Problem tranferring movies from Canon T2

I have been attempting to tansfer movies from a Canon T2 - works fine when transfering to Laptop but iPad 2 does not work.

I do the same as Smtr in letting the Canon reformat the card instead of just erasing the photos from the card. Also I never let iPhoto do the erasing as there have been too many reports of incomplete uploads and complete erasures. Not a good thing.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. RAW Highlights Problem with conversion from Canon 5D

I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon 20D to a Canon 5D. I shoot only RAW and I recently shot a couple of images of a beautiful sunset out West. I was bracketing the exposures all over the place since the light-drk contrasts were really large and the light was changing so fast. The images looked great on the Camera's LCD but, when I ran them through Aperture I got some really nasty artifacts on the conversions around the highlights. Here are examples:

the problem I see is with the nasty transition from yellow to white in the blown highlight. I also don't like the broad areas of flat yellow - the tonality is completely missing. These are the default RAW settings exported to JPGs and the poor image quality of the highlights looks identical on screen between the RAW images in Aperture and these JPGs, so it's not a JPG artifact.
I don't recall having this problem with the 20D - is the 5D conversion more difficult for Aperture? Might I be doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix this? I ran the RAW file through lightroom and it didn't have the same problem. Please help!

I have the same problems when I shot the sun rise and sun set.. It is very nasty transition from yellow to white or white to yellow from the sun. I don't think Aperture can fix that. It was over the exposure with the sun. And yes, it looks great on 2 inches LCD. I think you need to use filter when you shoot the sunset or sunrise to get the perfect lighting. Let me know, if you know the tweak with Aperture.. I will check out lightroom... I have alot of sunet and sunrise photos to correct.. and i checked out this place http://www.all-creatures.org/pics/sunset.html they have the same problems with yellow to white...

Problem getting photos from canon powershot

Just recently I have not been able to get photos from my SanDisk card. When I put the card into my HP Photosmart printer, either nothing happens or I get an error message on the printer. I have an iMac (intel) and I recently upgraded everything to Snow Leopard.
I then thought to bypass the printer altogether and go straight from the camera to the computer, but then I get a message "failed to initiate" . . . any ideas?

Problems with Audio from Canon SD1000

Hi,
I've been taking a lot of video lately with my Canon SD1000 and I'd like to edit it with titles and effects. It's a point and shoot still picture camera, but it takes pretty decent video.
I import my clips to iMovie HD, everything is fine, they play. The problem comes when I add titles to the clips. This causes the audio on the clip to be replaced by this put put put sound.
I then tried editing on Quicktime Pro and it also didn't like the clips.
I tried using Mpeg Streamclip to turn the AVI's from the Canon SD1000 into...well I tried turning them into everything from Mpegs to DV files and everything in between. Still, like before, the audio works until I add titles to the clip.
Does anyone have an idea if the SD1000's movies are just incompatible with iMovie HD? Or is there some fix I can implement?

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos they only show the video and no sound since iMovie (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.
One way that might be able to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...
