Printing questions on AIO 8500, choice of paper and settings..

hi,
so i recently purchased  the officeje all-in-one 8500.  i installed the printer and was going to use hp primium photo paper to test out some picture printing.  but when it came time to choose what paper type it was, i couldn't find one that match perfectly..  there was 'Advance Photo Paper' that was not it, 'HP Photo Paper Matte'..  that was not it.  'HP Primium Inject Paper', that doesn't seem it.  what do i choose?
my 2nd question is  what is the best setting to use for best printing?  i only try a couple sheets.  i didn't want to waste ink trying every possible combination.  but using 'Advance Photo Paper' and best setting, the picture turned out SUPER dark.  print quality was great but everything, especially the dark colors, turned out super dark.  using same paper, and 'normal' quality setting, the print quality was crap, but the color was more true to the actual picture color.
any help, suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
k

  • What paper and settings am I supposed to use?

I have a batch of Bright White inkjet paper left that I bought for my previous HP printer. This paper is from what I can tell still sold in Europe.
There is no profile for Bright White inkjet paper in the B210a, which I bought in Europe. The HP inkjet papers that have dedicated profiles in the B210a seem to be available only in the US and Canada. Only the photo papers have consistent branding and properties between markets.
What combination of European paper and US settings am I supposed to use for best quality on this printer? Should I import inkjet paper from the US while waiting for you to make the B210 drivers and printer firmware support the papers you sell in Europe?

and there is no iDVD anymore
    Sure there is.
Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.
With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.
IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

  • I am trying to print invitations on a 6 x 12 paper.

I want to have the wording twice on this sheet of paper then I'll cut the paper in half for two invitations.
I keep setting everything up, but the printer still prints this off center on the 6" wide paper.   It prints as if to center
on an 8 1/2 x 11 paper.   How can I get it to print centered on the 6" paper?

Have you tried using a different paper size in the application you are using. For instance you can select
A5 which is 5.83 X 8.27. This will tell the printer that you have a different size paper and it should adjust. Also there is a customer option and you can tell it exactly what size you have. You may have to play with it to find the right one. The option is under page layout or setup depending on the application.

  • Just bought a 8500a, when printing a photo on HP Premium Plus paper, the prints come out not glossy

Just bought a 8500a, when printing a photo on HP Premium Plus paper, the prints come out  flat, not glossy.
On my old HPL7680 a photo w/same paper come out glossy & shiny. This maybe what should be expected w/8500A and is not a problem w/the printer. The 8500A is set to advanced photo paper, best quality. I worked w/HP tech support and was told to send back to the Amazon where I bought it for replacement. But if this is not really a defective printer than it doesn't make sense to send it back. I also purchased a HP C510 Photosmart and the quality on photos is excellent, so I have solved my photo printing problems per say. Has anyone else noticed lack luster, non shiny photos coming from the 8500A?
My thought process was that if the L7680 printed a shiny, glossy photo, then the 8500A should too. But this may not be what I should expect...
IS MY 8500A DEFECTIVE OR JUST WHAT SHOULD BE EXPECTED FROM AN OFFICEJET PRINTER AS OPPOSED TO A PHOTOSMART PRINTER.
    thx Jim

The Officejet 8500 uses pigmented inks which have different characteristics than dye based inks.  HP Premium Plus paper is not really very suitable with pigmented inks, a better choice would be HP Advanced Photo paper.

  • Why do I not have access to all the features of my Canon MG5320 printer in all applications which use a printer? The printer has two paper paths. The rear path is used for photo paper and other specialty papers. this is only one "unavailable".

I have an iMac late 2012 with OSX 10.8.
The MG5320 has two paper feed paths; one at the rear for photo paper, brochure paper, and other specialty papers and a tray for regular 8½x11 paper. It also can print on CDs and DVDs and has an automatic duplexer. Canon provides a utility for printing on the CDs and DVDs and also for printing photos and other specialty items. This is available in Mac format also. I installed the most recent drivers and utilities.
I also have a HP IBM Compatible computer on which the above printer as well as an Epson are installed. Every option of each printer is available in every software application that has need for a printer.
The Mac printer dialog varies from one application to another. The only applications that list the option for selecting paper quality which includes photo paper are Office for Mac, Pages, and Numbers. Not likely that I would be using any of these for photo printing. Auto duplexing, however, is not available here or in any other applications.
The print dialog in Aperture, Photoshop Elements for Mac, ACDSee for Mac, or iPhoto provide the choice of numerous sizes of paper but no option for paper quality. Therefore, I attempted to use the print utility supplied by Canon and updated by Apple for printing some photos. The photos are selected in this utility. When the print command was given I was shown a message that the printer was being reset. It then began printing a spreadsheet, which was not even open, from the front tray on regular paper in fast draft quality.
It is essential that the rear feed be available for printing photos. The printer will not accept photo paper from the front tray. The greater proportion of my printing is photos or other specialty items all of which use paper that must be fed from the rear feed.
An acquaintence who considers himself to be somewhat of a Mac expert insists that the printer options that I require are available and all I need to do is look for them. The print dialog should be clear enough that "looking for options" is not a necessity. Even so, I have dilligently searched every variation of the Mac print dialog on my iMac and only the office type applications named above included anything other than the basic printer functions.
I have also searched numerous locations online without finding a solution. I did, however, find that printing and printing problems seem to be common with several versions of the Mac OS and Mac computers in general.
I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a solution. I have no desire to upgrade my Windows OS to Windows 8 which is perhaps suitable for "smart" phones but not desktop computers. However, because of the printing issue I have temporarily put my iMac aside and reverted to using my PC with Windows Vista.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless second paper tray under Snow Leopard

He there, I have a strange problem with the second (extra) paper tray from the Office Jet Pro 8500. I have setup the tray and activated the option on the driver page on the computers, but no results. No paper is loaded from the tray and there is an error that no paper is loaded in the machine. The printer is connected via ethernet (and a time machine) and I am running snow leopard on all the machines that are connected to the printer. I have installed the latest drivers from Apple and from HP. I know that the paper tray is working, because when I make a copy on the machine localy and force him to use papertray number 2, then there is no problem.
Does anybody have the same problem?? Thanks

I also just tried connecting my 8500 wireless printer directly via usb and then downloading the HP printer drivers from Apple downloads and reinstalling.
The install hangs nearly forever on the final step, but eventually says the driver install was successful. However, then when connected via usb, I am unable to print. Printing works when you reconnect via the wireless on the 8500.
So connecting via usb and reinstalling HP printer drivers does not solve the issue. And it's puzzling, because the list of supported printers under Snow Leopard lists the Officejet Pro8500 Wireless as supporting both printing and scanning.
    Somebody has it wrong.
If this scanning problem continues very long, I may be forced to uninstall Snow Leopard, because my printer is brand new.

  • Printer has paper, but computer says it is out of paper and won't print from web

I am having trouble getting the computer to recognize that the printer has paper. The printer will print copies that I put in it, but when I want to print from the web, it won't let me do it; it just tells me that the printer is out of paper. I printed a number of pages from the web yesterday with no problem at all. I have an HP Deskjet F2430.
    This question was solved.

I was trying to print off some material I had looked up on the web. When I saw what I was trying to print was going to be 40 pages, I did not want to continue printing it, and I did not know how to stop the printing, so I just pulled out my paper from the loader thing. I have since put paper back in the loader, but now my printer will not print anything, and says I am out of paper. I have tried and tried to fix this problem, and I really need to be able to print stuff, so I am pretty frustrated with this. I am a senior citizen and will admit that I am not all that astute with tech stuff. I would certainly appreciate some guidance with my problem. Thank you very much.

  • How to print the PLD document in A5*2 paper size?

    Dear All,
I am trying to print the pld Document in A5*2 paper size. Is it possible in SAP B1 PLD?
    please help me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mahendra

    Hi,
i don't think it depends on the print layout designer.
when you print it you have the choice to select the printer and change the settings.
when your printer driver supports it you should be able to print it.

  • IPhoto 6 card printing question

Hi, this may be a dumb question, but I spent over an hour and I couldnt figure it out.
Ok, so I made a card in iPhoto 6, size 7'' x 10''. It is a double-sided card. So, I print one side, feed the paper in again, and print the other side.
The problem is, I can't set the card to print centered on the paper, and thus, printing it double sided and cropping the paper will force me to cut off some of the card, and the fold wont line up right. I need this to print centered so the margins will be even, and thus, I can print double-sided properly.
    Thanks for any help/response
    PowerBook G4 15"   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have a similar problem, & am waiting for this to be answered properly by someone who can help allof us.
Using iPhoto5 (Dec. 2005) I was able to print my photos to 7x10 greeting cards all properly centered on the card -to then fold it in half for a greeting card. Now in iPhoto 6 (the same settings as used in iPhoto5) do not print out properly centered on the card. In preview it shows properly, but it does not come out that way. I am using the same printer - Epson R200 - as with iPhoto5). Another person has a Lexmark & can't get the right print out setting with iPhoto 6 either.

  • Image Printing Question

    Hello,
Bottom line summary: How do I use the Media and Quality setting to get a good image?
I have an image printing question for an HP 8600 Office. I am trying to get a decent quality image to print
on regular paper. I gather that I will not get the quality of a photo printer. I gather I'm supposed to use
HP glossy paper. Please read on ...
Images come out grainy (rastery) when embedded from an MSPaint project, and if I use Word. However when I printed just an image from image viewer it came like a photo ... but I can't remember what I did. It definitely is capable of printing better. My cartridges all check out, etc. I did the Print Quality Report ... I sure wish I could get that quality when I print other things.
I tried messing with different settings from the Print - Preference. The Quality (Best, Normal, Draft) doesn't effect the outcome. I tried going into Print - Preference - Media and it makes a difference. I can't figure out which is the best setting for plain paper ... but it's not plain paper. The image rendering algorithm appears to be different for different Media settings. I also tried setting the Advanced Resolution to Maximum DPI. I haven't been totally methodical about this as I was in a rush.
I see that the printer is being "smart", perhaps a little too smart.
    So my question is multipart:
    - Is there documenation on the what the Print - Preference - Media settings do?
    - How do I get it to not use grainy/rastery image method, but use the nicer photo method?
    - Should I print Maximum DPI?
    Thanks,
    - Dave -

Hi @DaveGold , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I hope you had a great holiday!
I see you're looking into photo setup options. I'd like to help!
First I'd recommend this document on Changing Print Settings in Windows 7.  This document should show all the settings you're looking into.
Also, another thing to keep in mind, when you select 'best print quality' and 'photo paper'. It will only be as good as the source image.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Photosmart 6510e cannot print a "screen shot" onto plain A4 paper ?

hi all, my lap top has broken down, using an iPad2 i can print with airprint perfectly ok onto a4 paper. i select a file from my iPads photo stream, it is obviously a photo, but it is a screen shot and i want it printed onto a4 plain paper, my 6510 insists on me putting a photo sized glossy paper in, so it wont print anything on a4 plain paper ! perhaps i should add the printer is brand new and i have just taken it out of the box later i have tried to print the same picture using eprint, same result, why cant i print a picture onto A4 size paper ? PLEASE tim
    This question was solved.

    Hi TIMMYTOAD,
AirPrint does not have any formatting capability and ePrint is very limited.  I would download and install the HP ePrint Home & Biz app from the App Store.  It will allow you to select paper size, image size, paper type and paper source.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • (stupid) printing question

The answer to this may be obvious but I'll ask anyway...
    I have a Canon i9900 printer with 4x6, 5x7, and 8.5 x 11 paper. I have a picture I need to print with a final size of 3.5 x 5.
Is it possible to specify a print size that's different from the paper size in Aperture? (I'm assuming the best way is to print the 3.5 x 5 image on 4 x 6 paper & cut it down.)
is it better to do this in Photoshop? (How would I do it?)
    Thanks-

yes, in the print image dialog, "paper size" determines the size paper (don't forget to click on "printer settings" if you need to make some printer specific choices).
again in the print image dialog box, in Layout Options, click on the "scale to" box and select "custom scale." enter your 3.5 X 5.
obviously, you will need to cut this down.

  • Print-Control use in Sapscript to cut paper

    Hi everybody!
I'm using a Epson TM-U675 to print receipts, but I need to send the paper cut code to te printer, in the printer documentation this code is 9EH.
I defined a print control ZCUT with following attributes:
Direct, Hexadecimal and sequence value is "9E".
In the sapscript code I've the following code:
    IT Before paper cut test
    /* Cut paper control code
    /: PRINT-CONTROL ZCUT
    CI
    IT After paper cut.
    But nothing happened.
I need to know if I've an error in the print-control definition or the sapscript code.
    Thanks in advance
    Ronald Picado.

You'd have better luck with getting an aswer if you posted your question to the ABAP forum.
