Printing Questions - "Poster" - One image on multiple sheet of paper (to create an enlargement)

Hello,
Tried to find this in the archives - apologies if this has already been answered. Kindly reply with that link and I won't ask you to chew your cabbage twice...
On my older PC, I used to be able to print an image in "poster" mode, which essentially let me print and enlarge an image by printing it across multiple pages (e.g. 4, 6, 9 pages.) Since I'm a painter, this was an easy way for me to print out an image - and enlarge it - from which I could tape the pages together to create the enlargement. I then could use that rough poster-enlargement-on-multiple-sheets-of-paper to trace on to my canvas. (And my photographer friends have already pointed out the ease of which to actually print poster size images, but I don't need that expense or hassle for my purposes. I basically want an enlargement to trace onto a larger size canvas to paint on.)
Since I just got a new Mac, I've downloaded PSE9 Mac trial, but can't for the life of me figure out how to replicate what I used to do on my PC, granted with an older version of PSE.
Hoping this makes sense - and hoping against hope that someone can nudge me in the right direction...
Thanks!
Greg
BTW - IF this does make sense, AND I can do on the Mac or the newer version of PSE - anybody got an idea for a workaround? (Short of buying PS CS5...?)

Juergen,
Thanks so much! Of course you're right - and this does the job perfectly! Thank you so much for the prompt replay, explained clearly, and very helpful! You've really helped me move onto items which I've really wanted to do!
Very gratefully,
Greg

  • How do I get AI to print a large image across multiple sheets of paper?

I'm pretty innexperienced with AI newer than a decade ago.  Anticipating that the software would be able to print Artboards as sheets, I created my image to cover more than one artboard.
I've read various related help topics and I still can't get one image to print over multiple sheets without space between: i.e. borderless.
I begin by choosing a 8.5 x 11 borderless in media but it still prints with a border even with "Don't scale" or "Fit to Page" turned on.
I tried tiling with some trepidation because it requires "Ignore Artboards" to be on and wants to reorient the paper the other way if on auto-rotate.  If I specifically specify landscape orientation that seems to fix the problem except for one thing: it still prints with borders! If I tile "Imageable Areas" which seems silly since the printer is perfectly capable of printing borderless, it will have to scale the image down a bit, which I don't want.
There are settings for "bleed" and "overlap" but those don't seem to be what I'm looking for and I don't need to waste more ink.

Try using the document setup from the file menu. You can set up the artboards to any size you want and cal include a negative gutter which will meant that with proper spacing you can get the file to print with the needed overlap and not have to use the borderless setting. Most borderless printers actually expand the print 1 or 2 percent to make sure that it goes beyond the paper. You might not want to do that.

  • How to print large jpeg image on multiple sheets of paper?

I have aa Photosmart 8250 and I need to print a large jpeg photo of a wiring harness onto multiple sheets of letter size paper for clarity sake. I need the large image printed os say 8 sheets of paper in landscape mode so when you combine the sheets you have a large and accurate image. Can this be done under windows 7 64 bit? I seem to recall under XP with the HP software that you could do this, I need to do this now, under windows 7 64 bit if possible. Thanks in advance.

You can use an alternate driver with the features you want.  Download the Officejet 8500 driver from HP here.  When the installer prompts you to connect the printer select the checkbox for unable to select the device.  After the driver has been installed click Start, Devices and Printers, right click on your Photosmart 8250 and select Printer Properties, Ports and find which port the 8250 is using.  Note this for later.  Next cancel this and click Add a Printer.  Select the same port as you found previously for the Photosmart 8250, Next, then choose HP and the HP Officejet Pro 8500.  Print a test page when you are done to verify the printer is working properly with the new driver.  You can then print to this instance of printer and select Poster Printing in the main page from 2x2 sheets up to 5x5 sheets.

  • Printing an Image to Multiple sheets of paper...

    \/\/TF, Apple?
Whenever I choose the scale of the image to be 100% in the print options, instead of adding pages, to print the entire image, it decides to only print one page. Now, the little preview thing doesn't even acknowledge that there need to be multiple pages. Just a little 1 of 1 at the bottom when the image is clearly cut off. My image should fit on 4 pages...
    How do i fix this?

You need an application, such as GraphicConverter, that can do this for you.

  • Photosmart 8150 Picking Up Multiple Sheets Of Paper

When printing, my printer makes a 'chunk' noise, then picks up multiple sheets of paper.  It was fine until a few days ago.  I haven't done anything to it, nor have there been any paper jams, etc.  I don't know if the noise and multiple paper pick up are related, but they started at the same time.  Any suggestions?

    I have this problem, too.
When I try to print photos, it picks up 2 sheets and partially prints on both.
Then I have a piece of regular paper AND a piece of photo paper ruined.

  • 8620 all-in-one picking up multiple sheets

This is a new printer, a 8620 all-in-one.  It  has a bad habit of pulling a second sheet through the feeder along with the sheet to print.  This occurs with standard 20lb stock and HP photo paper.  Any recommendations?

I just purchased an 8620 and have the same problem.  Every time I print more than a couple of pages, there will be at least one page that picks up 2 (or sometimes 3!) sheets of paper.  I have tried fanning - doesn't help.  My house is not humid.  Is there anything else to try?  Do I maybe have a defective printer?  My previous all-in-one Lexmark printer never had this problem.  Please help - this is more than just a little frustrating!

  • How to print contacts from iCloud (list vs separate sheets of paper)

How do you print a list of contacts from icloud without having each contact on one sheet of paper.  Perhaps print with several vcard images on one sheet?

That's ok...I figured it out.  I selected all contact by selecting all contacts then to the settings image and select print.

  • One order with multiple lines in OM is creating multiple invoices

    Application: Oracle 11i (11.5.3)
Modules implemented: GL, OM, AR, AP, PO and CM
    Business Requirement:
Our client would like to create Order consisting of multiple lines in Order Management.
The Orders created in OM with multiple lines could be booked, picked, released and transferred
over to Accounts Receivable. On transferring over the Orders from Order Management to Accounts
Receivables using Auto Invoice process the Order should create ONE invoice with multiple lines.
Moreover, for the multiple lines created on an invoice deferred revenue could be applied.
( eg. An order is placed for software and support. The support is to be invoiced all at once but revenue deferred to 1/12
recognized each month as revenue is earned.)
Right now we are getting two invoices. It is putting the deferred revenue item on a seperate invoice. Is this normal
functionality? How can I get both on one invoice.
    thanks

    Hello Monique,
Well you can have one invoice generated for an order with multiple lines. This is possible by changing some rules in Account Receivables. Use the grouping rules under setups->autoinvoice in AR. You can club your invoices based on any of the columns of ra_interface_lines_all. Hope this works for you.

  • How do I print a random size image on A4 sheet?

I have an image that I want to print on an A4 sheet but with the final image size to my requirements.  I have already printed one copy after exporting to Photoshop and resizing and re-importing to Lightroom, but would prefer to enable Lightroom to do all this if possible.  Is there a way please?  I have tried the "custom crop"  but this changes the whole canvas size I think.  I have LR3.

  • One image for multiple Intel Macs

I am trying to find some reference to creating one universal NetInstall image so that older Intel based portable Macs will work with newer portable Macs.
In the past we've been using a 10.5 retail image and update it as Apple updates come out. However, I notice using this image on the newer Macs with multi-touch creates some weird glitches.
The computer is functional, but an example would be, open Sys Prefs, click on Keyboard and Mouse, then when you click Trackpad, the animated video should show the finger(s) moving in the gestures for the correct command.
Anyone know of a place for best practices to create a universal NetInstall image so that I don't have to deal with multiple architectures for different installs? Any help would be appreciated.

best practice is to use the latest and greatest mac youve got for building the master image. however occassionally theres an odd glitch because of differences between the mac used for building the master image and the mac its restored to.
i rarely build on the latest and greatest mac ive got instead i use the mac that the image is going to be restored to. for this method i need to build many images however the chance of encountering an odd glitch is reduced.

  • Creating a slide show...one image repeats multiple time throughout?

to create a slide show I am dragging a soundtrack onto the new sequence icon...importing 117 jpeg images selecting them and choosing 'automate to sequence'...
however, one of the jpeg images is being repeated throughout the sequence, over and over again...
What am I doing wrong...i've even deleted the image from the source import file...and it just haunts me...
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What version of PrPro do you have?
There was a glitch with PSD's, in CS 5, and then CS 5.5, but that was supposedly corrected in the latest CS 5.5 update.
Until then, the workflow, that Stephen_Spider suggested should work fine. You can create an Action to Open, then Save, and Automate>To Batch, for that, to correct an entire folder at a time.
    Good luck,

  • Automated way to overlay one image over multiple images from a folder?

I need to overlay a transparent image of a tablet over about 50 images from a folder - is there any automated way to do this? I can use either Photoshop or Illustrator
    Thanks
    Jamie

Have you tried makig an aciton yet. Should not be too difficult since you want to to use the same image , you can copy once, and use paste during the action.
Make sure when you run the action as a batch, that you choose your destination. As a folder is safest, so you do not write over your original file.

  • New user question  -  superimposing one image on top of another

    Hi,
I am a new user to Photoshop having downloaded the trial version of Elements 10 this morning so forgive my very basic question. I have a picture of a sunset and a picture of a ship. How do I place the ship in the sunset please? that is, how do I superimpose the ship on to the sunset background?
    Cheers,
    Mankie22

You can also try the quick selection tool.  The selection tools take some practice to understand them.  Changing brush sizes in the option bar may help you with either the selection brush tool or the quick selection tool.  You want the selection to include the entire ship, not just the outer edges.  You may have had the brush very small and therefore just selected a narrow edge of the ship.
Once you make your selection and paste it over the other layer, you should take a look at how the edges of the ship appear.  If they are jagged, you might need to Undo a couple of steps and either fix up the selection ( change brush size, addto/subtract from).  Another refinement would be to make sure you still have a selection tool active and then right click within the selection.  Choose Refine Edge and you can smooth the edge there - along with other refinements available.
Click on Help in the menu bar and go to the Adobe help site.  Type in key words for more info.

  • How can I print out a Panorama image to fill up the paper

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A printer and have taken a picture in the Panorama setting and want to print it out on a 4x6 but have it fill up the complete 4x6 paper, not just the center part of the paper. Can this be done without losing quality and if so, how?? I am running Windows Ultimate 64 bit

Hi if the picture is high res enough you can fill up the page without to much quality loss, should be a question of playing with the settings, you are however goin to lose a part of the picture or stretching the image. A better option might be purchasing some HP panorama paper.
