Printing Stickers in PSE 12

I am using the template from labelbythesheet.com to make stickers.  When I print a sample on a plain sheet of paper everything comes out perfectly centered.  When I make the circle ring invisible and print on the actual sticker paper the entire sheet is off and the stickers are unusable. I am using the correct template for the stickers purchased as I got it from their own website.
Any suggestions?

Weird. I think you would need to do a very careful comparison of the print settings with and without the background layer - something must be changing. But as a workaround the quickest solution would probably be to just fill the background layer with white and leave it active when ready to print.
An alternative would be to fill your new layer with white when creating it, lower the opacity while designing your stickers (so that you can see the template through it) then increase opacity to 100% when ready to print.
Or insert a new white layer between background and stickers when ready to print. Many ways to get a similar result (as is always the case in PSE).
From your original description the crucial element seems to be to leave the background layer active - so whatever method you prefer to cover it with white will hopefully save you any more waste.
[EDIT] And which template is it you are using? I'll have a play.

  • Strange printing problem in PSE 9.0.2

I'm running Photoshop Elements 9.0.2 on MacOS 10.6.6.
Since I installed the 9.0.2 update to PSE, when I try to print from PSE, it only prints a 4x6" section in the center of the page. I'm thinking I may have flipped a setting somewhere, but I can't figure it out.
I know it's not the printer, because it does the same thing on my Samsung CLP-320 laser printer and my Canon MP 530 inkjet. It also does the same thing when I print to PDF. My workaround for now is to save the file in another format and print from another application.
    Any ideas?
    TIA,
    Geneviève

I recommend you don’t use the print module in PSE if you have a credible alternative.
The Organizer and Editor use different print engines and both are poor.

  • How do you use an outside Lab ICC Printer Profile in PSE 12?

I have an image that I scanned in from an old print then I edited it using PSE-12. Now that I've completed the editing and retouching I plan to have the image printed by an outside that has the ability to read ICC Printer Profiles designed for their printers embedded in the image. My proble is I don't know how to add a particular ICC Printer Profile to a image worked on in PSE-12. If I was using Lightroom or PS-CS5 or 6 there is a straight forward way to accomplish this goal.
Is there any way to accomplish the same objective when using PSE-12?

Thanks MichelBParis.  I must be getting old (I'm 78) and I completely missed that when I was in Dry Creek Photo. In fact that is where I get all of my ICC Printer Profiles from when I'm using either Lightroom or Photoshop CS. What I'm doing is tutoring a friend on the use of PSE-12 (although I do own a copy for my own use) and I was trying to set him up to use ICC Printer Profiles and avoid letting the labs do "Automatic Color Adjust). I had many images ruined in the past just because the lab did an automatic color adjust until an operator schooled me on what was happening. I'm now a part time photographer and I never send an image to be printed without first making sure I have an applicable ICC Printer Profile embedded. and request the lab to turn off their automatic color adjustment.
Thanks again for the perfect solution.

  • Printing 4x6 in PSE

When I try to print out 4x6 pictures in PSE, the size is all messed up.  I've tried adjusting every setting I can think of, and nothing has worked.  Can anyone give me any pointers on what the setting should be if I want to print a borderless 4x6 onto 4x6 photo paper?  I guess probably the most basic question is, when you choose "print" from the menu and the print dialogue box comes up, for box #2, select paper size, which is the correct selection if I want to print out on 4x6 borderless w/out cutting off any part of the image when printing?  Thanks for any advice.

Yes seems this is a bug. I will try using printing in PSE 8.0 when it will be released.

  • Why am I getting sharper printouts from Windows Photo Viewer than PSE 7? This was not always the case. has something in my settings changed? I have tried all obvious solutions but no change. How can i get the best image print outs from PSE?

I prefer to print from PSE as this allows me to set  picture dimensions. Windows photo viewer does not give this flexibility. I am using the same PC, the same printer and the same print file, yet the outcome from each software option is significantly different. WPV is sharp and bright whereas PSE is softer. Can any one help me?

  • How Do I Set Print Quality in PSE 10 to above 720 DPI?

    Hello Everyone,
I am trying to print a 4888px x 3456px (A4 aspect ratio) to an A4 sheet from an Epson SC-P600 inkjet printer.
In the PSE 10 Print Dialog Box I have set PSE to Manage Colours and selected my printer ICC profile.  From the Print Dialog Box's "More Options" window I click Printer Preferences and set the Print Driver's Print Quality to SuperPhoto 5760dpi x 1440dpi.
After clicking OK a few times to get back to the PSE10 Print Dialog Box, I see 720 DPI as the Print Quality value at Item 2 - Printer Settings on the right hand side of the PSE print dialog box.  Even if I change the printer driver's print quality to 1440dpi x 1440 dpi, the print quality value remains at 720 DPI at item 2 in the PSE print dialog box.
I expected to see a value of either 1440 DPI or 5760 DPI values in the PSE print dialog box after setting the print quality in the printer driver.
How can I tell the  PSE10 print dialog box that my printer is set to 1440dpi, or higher, or will the printer still print at the the printer driver's setting regardless of  the DPI value in the PSE print dialog box?

save your settings as a preset... after you click print and change your settings... click on the Presets drop down and save as... it defaults to the last used preset provided you saved your changes.

  • Printing Error using PSE 10

I have used this software for years with perfect results. Recently the prints come out washed out and grainy. I have an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer which I checked and the printer is working correctly. Could the software be corrupt? How can I fix this problem?

Turns out to be in the Elements 9/10 software. The instruction to the printer when printing from PSE10 accounts for  the entire sheet of paper being printed on regardless of the actual image size and as such deposits at least some ink over the entire sheet. There is no way to alter this in set up.  It must have been expedient to write the code this way. I better stock up on light cyan.
Printing the same image from Mac Preview, using Epson color management,  only the image is printed.
An aside- I find it telling that when talking to Adobe that they now consider 4 x 5 to be a custom size. Priceless.

  • "Program Error"  While trying to print in PSE 9

Download and installed updates to PSE 9.0, Now 9.03. While in PSE mode I can no longer print images to Epson Photo R2880 or HP J4680. I can print to both printers using HP Media Smart Photo application, but if I attempt to print from PS Elements I get the following "could not print (image title) because of program error". I have since uninstalled the upgrade to PSE 9.03, I have also  done a system restore all to no avail. I still can't print while in PSE. Any experience with this? Any resolution ? Help !!!

  • PSE 13 recognizes printer but will only "print" as .xps

I am trying to print photos using PSE 13 and it shows my printer as an option but after I click "print" it goes straight to the "Save file as" menu and I can save it as an .xps like my printer isn't there. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the printer software and the PSE 13 software and it still fails to print.

    Hi James,
Did this printer work correctly before ?
To verify whether it is related to the printer ,please plug it in another machine to have a check if it is possible.
Considering it is a USB device ,plug in  with another port to have a check or try to update the USB controller driver or reinstall the USB controller driver to have a check.
Please check whether the Event Viewer contains  errors or warnings related to this issue .
I found a similar symptom in the HP forum ,the solution in it may be helpful:

  • PSE 8 - Can I reposition an image on a page for printing?

I am learning how to print photos using PSE 8 on a Mac running 10.6.4. In PSE 2, when printing I was able to slide a photo around on a page and reposition it for printing. (I could then print the photo on top of the page and then reinsert the paper into the printer and print on the bottom half too.) Is there a way to move a photo around on a page for printing in PSE 8 on a Mac? In PSE 8 Help, under Printing and Sharing Photos > Print Photos > Reposition an Image, it says you can: Choose File > Print and then use "the panning operation" to reposition the image, but I don't know what the "panning operation" is. All I see is an immovable box with the photo inside it. I can move the photo around in the box, but the box does not move with it, so no matter what, the photo (or a part of it) is going to print in the middle of the page it seems. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Try resizing the image before you go into the print dialog.  Then, once you are in the print dialog, uncheck Center Image and you should be able to move it anywhere on the sheet.

  • PSE 9 print options?

Are the print options in PSE 9 the same as PSE 8?  In  PSE 7 and earlier the print function was far superior to PSE 8.  You could size the print and position the print anywhere on the page.  These options are not available in PSE 8.  I do not want to purchase PSE 9 if it has the same print functions as PSE 8.

The print function has improved some in pse9, but still not as good as pse7.
The best thing to do is download the trial of pse9 and see if you like the
    improvements.

  • PSE 9 Print default change?

How do I change my default print values in PSE 9?
(For example, I want the default "Paper Tray" to be "Paper Feed Switch" but I need to change it from"Auto Sheet Feeder" every time I print a different file.)

Sometimes this is due to write permissions. You could try right clicking on the editor application and selecting “Run as Administrator“ on Windows Vista or Windows 7.
    Alternatively navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0
Right click on the folder Photoshop elements 7.0 and choose properties.
Then click on the security tab and make sure Group or user names is set to Everyone.
Click to highlight Everyone and if necessary click the edit button and select Allow Full control.
PSE should then remember your previous settings rather than reverting to default.
N.B. Example for PSE7 - choose your own version.
If you don't have Everyone - In Windows - open Windows Explorer and navigate to:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe
Locate the Photoshop Elements 7 folder (the one with the blue PSE logo)
Right click on that folder and choose Properties - then click the security tab and make the following changes:
    1. Click on the edit button to change permissions.
    2. Click Add and type the word “Everyone” in the Object names Box (without the quotation marks) and click OK.
    3. Under group/User Names select everyone so that it becomes highlighted.
    4. Put a check mark in the box against Allow Full Control and click Apply.
N.B. for Windows 64 bit navigate to Program Files (x86)
