Printing suddenly stopped: no preview anymore

Hi,
My MacBook Pro suddely stopped printing through USB on an Epson Stylus Photo.
It doesn't matter wich account I use for logging in or whatever application, if I click on "Print", the print window comes up, but nothing is displayed in the preview (although is checked)and nothing prints. There is even an error saying: An error occurred while printing (or something alike). I use 10.4.x, even an upgrade to the latest 10.4.7 didn't help. Nor resetting the printer or reinstalling drivers. I checked disk-permissions with disk-utility (Apple): nothing helped.
I think there is communication anyway with the printer. If I disconnect and remove the printersettings, after connecting again the printer it shows up again: so there is communication?

Just an update - I was able to print from a Windows computer hooked up to the same printer, so I know the printer is still functioning properly. Airport device also appears to be working properly. Next will check USB cable - after that I'm at a bit of a loss.

Lightroom suddenly stopped rendering previews

I've been using Lightroom since v1 and have been using v3 since it was released. All of a sudden tonight, while working on photos that were already in my catalog, Lightroom has stopped rendering previews and is much slower to operate.
I've optimised my catalog, I've tried purging my cache, I've rebooted etc. Nothing I've done is helping, if I zoom in in Library view I just see a blury outline that is the existing thumbnail. Some of my other images don't even have thumbnails anymore. If I go to Develop view it behaves normally, it's just Library view that seems broken.

I'd purged the CameraRaw cache, but after no success I ended up deleting my entire "Lightroom 3 Catalog Previews.lrdata" directory (which freed up 30GB of space and took over 10 minutes at the command line).
Fingers crossed it seems to have resolved my issue... certainly on relaunching Lightroom it's now recreated this folder, hammered my CPU and successfully created new thumbnails for the folder I was viewing in Lightroom. It's a little concerning just how much it hammered my CPU (100% for about 5 minutes, still sitting at 75% now after nearly 10 minutes) when I was only looking at a folder with 23 images in it... it was also hammering my Lightroom/System disk for the first 5 minutes, but not the disk with my photos on it.
Oh well, will see if it happens again and I might start to manually delete the previews folder semi-regularly.

Printing Suddenly Stopped

My Canon i9900 just suddenly stopped printing from any computer in my home network. My MBP just started displaying all prior print jobs in the print queue, even those completed going back almost a full year. There was no way to clear the queue, so I reset the print settings, clearing out the printer entirely, and trashing the printer from the library. While I'm working through the problem from the one computer, I can't print from any other computer to this printer. Do I need to reset printing system on every computer? Seems odd that everything wouldlock up and cause all computers to need to be reset.

AuthenTec finger print suddenly stopped working

Hi,
Suddenly today morning AuthenTec software on my notebook (3000 N200 0769) has stopped working. I am not getting the finger print option when I start my vista and further when I open the software it says AuthenTec not installed or sensor is switched off...!!
Please, if anyone can suggest any solution than it will be really appreciated.

Airport Express printing with HP printer suddenly stopped

I'm using an iBook G4 with an AirPort Express Basestation and an HP Deskjet 3740.
I know that the printer isn't on the list of "approved" printers BUT all had been going well for weeks but one day my printer stopped working with the AE (I can still print if I plug the printer directly into my computer).
I've tried going back to the older firmware update.
I've tried using the suggestions at iFelix (many people have had success with this but it hasn't worked for me... could I be doing something wrong?)
When I open the printer utility and try to add a printer to rendezvous it searchs for a driver. My printer is listed in the window but it says no driver is found and I can't add it to the list.
Any suggestions? I've even tried restoring my AE to factory settings.

If you are using the AirPort Express and your main wireless router, you need to look for an all in one that can connect and function over a wireless network.
If you are using another router there with an available ethernet port, look for an ethernet network device.
Bottom line, your device needs to connect to your network using wireless or ethernet, not USB.

Printer suddenly stops printing

I have CS 5 on a Mac Mavericks version OSX 10.9 and suddenly CS5 will not print, I get an error message which reads" There was an error opening your printer, printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents", I can print from Microsoft applications and from iPhoto and Aperture. Epson suggest it must be an Adobe problem as the R2880 will print from other applications. It has been suggested that I reset CS5 to original but I cannot where to do that, any help please

Despite removing printer , downloading drivers again and then resetting printers still CS5 does not give me the option to print, I also have an Epson SX 200 which does not appear as an optional printer when I give the print command,
I seem to be between a rock and a hard place here, Adobe seem to think it is an Epson fault and Epson say it is definitely Adobe fault,
I have over £1000 value of CS5 and an Epson R2880 printer and cannot get a print from it.
I am loathed to take up Adobe offer of paying for CS6 and Lightroom on a monthly basis then find I cannot print on that either,
Perhaps I will have to go back to Aperture, which I do not want to, I can print ok from that, which again points to an Adobe problem,

Printing SUDDENLY stopped working

I'm suddenly unable to print on my MacBook Pro. Choosing Print in any application does nothing, and I see the following error in the console log:

I use 3 shared printers with my MacBook Pro: a Brother HL1440 (shared from my Mac Mini), a Brother MFC420CN connected to my router, and an HP PhotoSmart A620 shared from my Buffalo TeraStation. My MBP is networked wirelessly to an Airport Extreme 802.11n base station.
I've tried resetting the printing system, clearing caches, multiple restarts, and running FixAirportPrinter (which shows an empty list). The only thing that changed was installing VMware 2.0 today.

Hello Mike:
A place to start would be to uninstall the VMware application you mention (I have no clue what it does as I do not use it). Third party applications sometimes do not play well with OS X. If you do not want to do that, contact the software developer.

Printer Suddenly Stopped Printing in Color

To isolate the problem to the printer, I printed a supplies status and printer test page from the printer touchscreen. They both printed in b/w. Any help much appreciated.

I see that your HP Envy 110 will not print in color and that the black is streaky. I am sorry to hear that but I am happy to help!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you are using genuine HP ink cartridges or refills.

My printer suddenly stopped printing in black. We have two computers networked wirelessly, and from my husband's computer there are no problems. From my computer I can print other colors, but not black. Test prints print in colors but not black. I have tried uninstalling software, reinstalling, and reconfiguring for wireless without success. Reinstallation seems to have gone OK but problem is not resolved. I have also tried to connect via a USB port, but no success here either. I turned off the firewall for the last installation but this did not help either.

Start by following the troubleshooting steps in this document, especially check the vent as shown in step three of Solution Six.
I suspect when you print the test page in Solution Six there will be no black ink on the page. Most likely the computer you have that appears to print in black has its media settings set to photo paper, which would use the color inks to print black.
If the printer is in warranty I would suggest you Contact HP for replacement.

MacBook 2008 wifi suddenly stopped working and says no wifi hardware. Took it to an apple shop, they said it could be the airport card but wouldn't do anymore then that. Any help on how to fix this? How do I know if it is the airport card or not?

If the technician at the shop is competent, he has given you a diagnosis that should have identified the problem. You could run the Apple Hardware Test to verify the findings:

Note the Apple Hardware Test is not definitive.
Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites. They have parts and installation instructions. To install an Airport card is fairly easy.

Dreamweaver suddenly stopped and can't get it started anymore

While i was working with dreamweaver it all of a sudden stopped and closed. I couldn't get it to work anymore. So I restarted my computer. No luck. I tried to reinstall dreamweaver, but after 20 minutes installing it came back that it couldn't be installed. So i did a systemrepair (don't know the exact english name) to yesterday - but no luck. Dreamweaver start to work but stops

Printing from desktop suddenly stopped

printing from desktop suddenly stopped 2 days ago; remote printing still works perfectly; desktop shows printer "uninstalled." Print doctor says the printer and desktop are connected to different routers, but nothing has been changed; the issue simply arose suddenly, so I don't think this is an accurate diagnosis. When I try to install the printer again, it says the IP # is already installed (which it is and it prints from a laptop, just shows "uninstalled" for desktop printing. ) Help!

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
If I understand what you are saying, it appears that one computer - the notebook - is working correctly to print.
A different computer -- a Desktop computer - does not print, and is showing an error indicating that the printer is not connected properly (or something similar).
Assuming you are using DHCP and not a Static IP address for the Printer, the following might apply to your setup.
You might try / consider the following to try and fix the problem for the Desktop computer:
On the Desktop: Remove the Printer software from Control Panel > set icon view > Programs and Features > Right-Click >> Uninstall
Shut down the Desktop Computer
Optional
Disconnect the extra bits from the Desktop -- USB drives, speakers, other unnecessary devices. Leave the monitor and mouse connected; these are considered necessary.
Unplug the Desktop computer for thirty seconds
Reconnect the Desktop computer to the power (plug in)
Reconnect the Desktop's devices as desired: USB drives, etc.
Shut down the Notebook, using proper shutdown protocols
Shut down the Printer
Switch off the Router - wait ten - fifteen seconds...
Switch on the Router - wait thirty seconds for the Router to boot completely...
Boot Notebook, Desktop computer, and then start the Printer
Install the Full Feature Software onto the Desktop computer:

CS5 Bridge thumbnail previews suddenly stopped working

My Bridge very suddenly stopped displaying thumbnail previews - it only displays the default file type icon.
I have spent a lot of time googling this and have tried the following:
Clearing the cache
Updating Bridge and assorted Abode Products
Resetting Bridge to factory settings
Nothing has made any difference. I need the thumbnail previews for Bridge to be useful to me. Any help is highly appreciated.

Every file type (DNG, JPG, CR2, etc) except for PSD, but PSD looks distorted. It's all images, old and new, including ones I could preview perfectly before whatever happened happened. Thanks for responding!
Edit: Okay, so I did more digging and for some reason it shows TIF files, but nothing else.
Also, I am trying to view our photo library over our network, none of these files are on my local HD.

My iMac (OS 10.7.4) has suddenly stopped printing to my Epson CX4800 printer through Airport Extreme, although it will print if connected via USB. Meanwhile, my MacBook (OS 10.5.8) prints still prints wirelessly. Please help.
