Printing the date and time on a photo

The date and time that the photo was taken showes up but how do I get it to print on my photos?

You can print the date just below the photo on a printout by using 'Contact Sheet' option while printing the photo through Photoshop Album Starter Edition.

How can I change the date and time of a photo in iPhoto?

Use either the Adjust time and date command or batch change time and date command
Adjust is to fix incorrect times like wrong camera settings - batch change is to record a totally new time and date - typically for scanned photos
Select the photo(s) and use the appropriate command for your needs

  • Can I print the date and time using aperture 4

Work inspectors require that I provide pictures with date and time of creation from the metadata info.  I was looking at google searches and found Aperture with borderFX plug in might work.  Can anyone confirm this is a fact?  I would hate to pay for the software to find out this feature is not available during export.

BorderFX and Aperture are a great combination for framing and annotating your finished photos. I like to second Frank Caggiano's answer.
I am not sure from your post, if you already have Aperture, so just an add-on: BorderFX works also with iPhoto as an "Export" plug-in.
You can access it in the "File > Export" panel, when saving a photo.
If you do not own Aperture but iPhoto, you can try BorderFX first with iPhoto and see if it will suffice for your purposes. BorderFX is "Donation ware". You can try and explore it freely, before you donate.

  • When I try to adjust the date and time of an event by selecting Photos from iPhoto, the year I enter is altered.

I have images in iPhoto from an older digital camera which did not record the date and time.  In iPhoto, with an event selected, I have tried to adjust the date and time by choosing Photo.  When I adjust the date and check Modify original files, it makes the date much earlier--in centuries.  I now have an event from August 2003 (the date I entered) which reads June 2, 1251 under the event!  When I attempt to correct it, it goes back further in time.  What am I doing wrong?

(I use iPhoto only to import from my iPhone; I organize all my images, including thousands of RAW files, in folders on a big external drive.)
Why are you using iPhoto at all? use image capture or drag and drop the photos
The problem is that the files I am copying are getting stripped of the EXIF metadata
eliminating iPhoto from your work flow will eliminate one oppertunity to have this happen  For photos in iPhoto it is best to export them rather than drag an drop them - this assures your EXIF and IPTC data is correct and uptodate
Why would I be able, over many years, to retain EXIF metadata in photos imported from an iPhone--then one day find that the same workflow strips such photos of EXIF data?
Because exporting is the supported way to "export" photos - I never drag and drop photos out of iPhoto and I never use thrid party programs on the photos in the iPhoto library - try exporting as suggested above and see if that is the solution

  • Adjust Date and time for all Photos in an event?

Would some one tell me how to adjust the date and time for all photos in an event. For some reason when I change the date, it only changes the first photo in the event and I am left with a range of dates in the event, but I would rather they all have the same date in the event. Any thoughts or ideas?

How are you selecting the photos and changing them? How much of a change are you trying to make? A total change of date and time or just a delta change either plus or minus?
Using the Photos->Adjust Date and Time... menu option will apply the time/date difference to all of the photos in the Event if you click on the Event icon in the Photos mode or the Event mode.

  • Printing current date and time on each page

I'm often printing several versions of a document (e.g. a paper in progress). To keep track of the printouts I would like to print the date and time of printing onto each page, regardless of which application I'm using (although it would be okay if it works for PDF files only, if it happens automatically). I have seen Windows printer drivers including this feature, but haven't found any settings here (e.g., Canon iR3225) nor any hidden-CUPS-feature-I-could-activate-in-the-config-file.
Any ideas? Some sort of preprocessing I could inject into cups?

I agree with Greg. I had a quick look through the cups settings and could not see what you want. The closest thing would be a cover page, which you can also do via the standard print dialog.
And checking the iR32xx series printer driver on Windows 7, there is no feature to print the date/time within the driver. So as Greg has mentioned your reference to Windows having this feature must be via an application rather than a driver setting.

Hi! My name is Tom from San Diego, CA. I have the exact same question as you. That is, I would like to be able to print out a photo from iphoto with the date that picture was taken displayed on the face of it. In this way, someone looking at that picture in a photo album years later would know when it was taken. Did you ever find a method to print copies of photos out of iphoto with the date displayed on the print? Thanks for your help!

  • How can I preserve the date and time of photos when moving them from iPhone to iPhoto and then to other folders on my computer?

In the past I’ve had no problem moving photos from my iPhone 4 into various folders on my computer while retaining their original date and time. I would import into iPhoto, then drag the photos from iPhoto into other folders via the Finder or Adobe Bridge (which is my principal image organizer). The original date and time of the photo would always travel with the jpeg into iPhoto and then into other folders. However, sometime during a recent session transferring photos in this way, the dates of the photos started to change at the point when I copied them out of iPhoto. Within iPhoto itself, the various original dates of the photos are retained. But in Finder and Bridge, copies of those same photos all carry the same (worthless) date: the date and time that they were imported from my iPhone. I can’t figure out what would have changed on my Mac to make it start re-dating my photos. I was happily dragging and dropping photos, and suddently I started to lose the original dates. Did I inadvertently change some settings? (I am running OS 10.6.8 and using iPhoto 8.)

  • Changing the Date and Time of photos

    Hello,
i have been importing images from my windows machine and want all the dates to be correct, i have seen the adjust date and time, and made the changes but under the events the dates dont change and when i click individual photos the dates and times are not changing.
so i was wondering how do i change the time for each photo and event? can i change the time to a start and finish date rather than just one date?
Any help with the above would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I have just looked at this again, i dont see an option to set both a start and end date, any ideas?
That is not an an option - and it makes no sense
You can do one of three things:
1 - add a constant delta to all selected photos thereby correcting an incorrect setting on a camera and preserving the sequence and integrity of the photos dates ad times
2 - change the date and time for all selected photos to a specific value
3 - change the date and time for all selected photos to a base value plus an increment for each successive photo.
There are two choices under the photos menu
1 - adjust date and time - this adds a constant Delta to the selected photos - is is designed for correcting camera times or time zones but keeping the basic sequence
2 - batch change date and time - this simply changes the date & time to your selected value with an option to add an increment to each
Both have an option to modify the original photo which I do (I'm not sure why you would not want to modify the original)
And when i go into photos, the ones that i have altered by +Photos >>> Adjust Date and Time+ still have different times and dates, any ideas?
AS described in the iPhoto help and above
1 - adjust date and time - this adds a constant Delta to the selected photos - is is designed for correcting camera times or time zones but keeping the basic sequence
So after adjusting time and date all photos selected will have the time and date changed by the same amount (a constant delta) and if they were all different before they will still all be different - if they were all the same before adjustment they will still all be the same but at a different value

  • How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo

How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo

You can blur it out with retouch
The built-in "Retouch" brush in "Edit" mode should suffice, if the background is mostly uniform, and if you set the size of the brush to slightly wider than the bar width of the letters. For example, in this picture I removed the year from the date (in the lower right corner) by using the "retouch" brush and following the contours of the letters. (the screen shot is from iPhoto '11, but iPhoto 9 should give similar results).

  • How do I import photos from a memory card that didn't have the date and time set yet?

    Aloha,
So I got a new 5dmark 3 and I was shooting a wedding and didn't set the date and time before I started shooting. When I uploaded the images to Lightroom they uploaded all over the place and not in order. Is there a way to upload to lightroom and keep them in order?
    THanks so much,
    Eric

You can change the sort order to filename. That's what I prefer to use, and it keeps my images in shooting order.

  • HT5252 I tried to change my metadata date and got this   Aperture was not able to adjust the date and time of the original file "01769_p_h13ajyrm4bm0944.jpg" because it is locked or you do not have permission to modify it.

I tried to change the metadata date.  It changed the date on my photo, but when I checked the box that said "also change my original file", it gave me this error message.
Unable to change original file.  Aperture was not able to adjust the date and time of the original file “01769_p_h13ajyrm4bm0944.jpg” because it is locked or you do not have permission to modify it.
    Wassup?

What is your Aperture version? The older versions of Aperture 3 had a problem to apply Metadata changes to the original file.
If you are using the current version Aperture 3.4.5, try to repair the permissions on your Aperture library, if you have not already done so:
Launch Aperture with the key combination ⌥⌘ held down and select "Repair Permissions" from the First Aid PAnel, that will appear.
If that does not help, post back with more information on your original files - are the referenced or managed? Where is your Aperture library located? Since when do you have this problem? And what did you do directly before noticed the problem for the first time?

  • How to have the Date and Time appear on printouts

The Date and Time used to appear (at the bottom right) on things printed from websites. For example, receipts from an online purchase, an article on the web etc.
I am able to see the setting to appear at bottom right (in the "File" dropdown).
Following a Firefox update, I no longer get that very useful "Time & Date Stamp".
This is very frustrating. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

Are you saying you can see the date and time in the "Print Preview" or in the "Page Setup" dialog under the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab. The date and time won't display if it is not set correctly in the "Page Setup" dialog. Also, is this on one specific printer or many different ones? If this is only happening on one printer there may be a problem with the print driver, even though there would be probably more serious things going on than a missing footer. You could also experiment and create a pdf using "PDF Creator" at http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator and see if it comes up on the created document.
Hope this gives you some headway.
