Printing Times in Month View
When I print a calendar in month view, some of the event times print, but some of them only print as an elipsis "..." This seems to happen arbitrarily, without any correlation to the length of the event description. So, some short descriptions have an elipsis for the time (even though there is plenty of room to print the time) and some long descriptions have the time. Does anyone know how to print a monthly view calendar so that the time prints for every event?
iMac Mac OS X (10.4.9)
I'm troubleshooting the same problem for one of my clients. Not certain if this helps or not, but the elipsis "..." only seem to appear in events that are set to the "floating" time zone.
Still working on a solution (or work around)...

Printing time range month view
This is driving me crazy. All I want to do is print the start time and the end time in month view. The problem is that I only get a start time for the event. Or if I try to enter the time in the even manually I get a time and a time range. The only way i found that works is to check the all day box then enter the time range manually in the event (3:00-5:00). When I print it works, but it screws up the snyc to my pda, and the list view. Any ideas?
I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

ICal won't print times in month view...
Since DST changed this past weekend, I am no longer able to print my monthly calendar with visible times. All I get are dots and then the event. However, when I print a weekly list calendar, the times show up next to the event. I can also view a monthly calendar on my computer with all the times. What can I do to print a monthly calendar that will print the times/events? Thank you. Steve

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quit iCal, find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and try again.

ICal 'Show time in month view' Month view missing text!
Hi I hope you can help me!
Since syncing to .mac last week my calendar has developed a problem which is happening on both of my Macs.
Some of my entries and particular words are not displaying properly when I enable 'Show time in month view'. Words at the end of the entries are missing! (they are fine with the times disabled). Can someone please offer an insight into this as I just bought my Mac and use it for my business.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm new to iCal. I want to print my schedule in Month view but as it is right now, it only shows the start times of events in each day. Is there any way to make it show both start and end times for the events in month view?
I searched the help files and searched online but nothing came up.
Any help is appreciated.FDWifeCFD,
1- How to you set event so that they show the start and end time in month view?
AFAIK, this is not a feature of iCal.
2 - I have a little "1" on my iCal icon in the dock what does that mean?
That means an iCal invitation has been sent. Click the small envelope icon on the bottom right of the the screen to view the notification.
There is also a little one in the line of one of my calendars?
That represents the current time of day in the Day/Week view.

HT2513 How do I get the location to print in the monthly view?
Is there a way to get the location to show as well as print in the monthly view? The events that I'm concerned about are 'all day' events in a separate calendar.
Rich media in PDF isn't designed for print workflows so you cannot control what appears - you should just get a bitmap 'screenshot' of whatever the viewport was displaying at the time.

ICal is not showing event time in month view
For some reason, the time of my events stopped showing in iCal. I get the event, but the time doesn't show unless I click on the event. The time does show in week view, but I prefer to use month view. This has not been an issue in the past, so I don't know what happened or if I clicked on something accidentally. I tried going to iCal preferences, but I don't see anything that allows me to select "show time in month view" which has been suggested by other usI'm using OS X Yosemite. Thanks.
It appears that it is dependent on the size of the calendar window. If it is too squished to display, it won't.

Show times in month view?
Hey all! Just made the switch from Outlook to iCal and am wondering when you're in the month view if you can have the individual entries show the time. Thanks so much!

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It seems that iCal>Preferences...>General>"Show time in month view" may be what you are looking for.

Show start & end times in monthly view?
how do I show both start and end times in monthly view of iCal?
It does come with the operating system - you don't pay any extra for it.
Perhaps the shipping to Mars is a tad expensive? -
I would like to have the ending times shown on my monthly calendar. As of now, it only shows the start time. The end times show up on the weekly calendar, but I don't want to print from the weekly view.
Hi,
I see two issues,
1. the url is not correct for the image, www.mountjay.com/Home/MountJayDesign.jpg
2. meta property should go in to head section, at the moment, it is under body (if you insert the code as html). go to page properties-> Metadata-> head. Paste this here, and check the site again,
Please let me know if you have any other query. -
End times in month view: after 5 years of asking, will we ever get it?
About a year ago, I noted that a quick search of these forums turned up 28 requests dating back to 2005 requesting an extremely simple feature every paper calendar has: the ability to show an events' end time in addition to its start time.
I had forgotten all about this issue until my wife started using iCal to manage her calendar after buying an iPhone. Her first question: "why can't I see when something ends in month view?"
Great question. I've added another request to this feature http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html. If you're frustrated by this too, please visit the URL above and request that Apple add this ability.

Re: how to print a monthly calendar with start and end times

It looks like we're not alone in looking for this feature. I found 28 other posts to this forum alone asking for this functionality (dating back to August 2005).
I know Apple likes to be different and elegant with their apps, but until iCal adds this trivial feature, it's not an adequate replacement for even paper calendars.
Do the engineers in Cupertino not care how long their appointments last? Why not at least let users show the end time on appointments as an option in month view?
The most common advice in response to this post is to provide feedback here:

I'm giving switching to Google Chrome/Chromium a lot of serious thought, now. It might actually be the better open source browser. Why?
I've discovered that if I go into chrome://flags, I can search for 'HiDPI support' and ... toggle it to disabled. Making Google Chrome behave as it did before High-DPI support was a thing. What a magical feature!
Apparently this feature is not impossible to implement because Google managed it. Why can't Firefox have an about:config option that completely disables High-DPI??
Seeing that Google has done this makes me feel all the more hated by Mozilla. And it creates links between Mozilla and the likes of Apple in my mind. -
Different default time in Month view
Hi People,
I use iCal in Month view mainly with one or two events there per day... Gig here... Car tax there... Whatever...
When adding an event in month view iCal automatically puts it in at 0000 hours.
This is ok when I'm using iCal on my Mac.
But when I look at the events on my phone that I've synced with iCal I see the event at midnight on the day before AND at 0000 on the actual day it should be.
Still with me?
So, in an ideal world, I would like iCal to put events in at some time during the day to avoid this confusion.
I know I could go to week view to add an event at the proper time but that would defeat the quickness of just inputting a date in month view then publishing it at a click...
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Billy.I have the same problem. I want to print the month view like it was in my older version of Ical and it won't do it. I want to print what I see.
