Printing to a full legal-sized page booklet

I have created a legal-size document that I'm trying to print to the full of the page. However, there is about an 1/8th of an inch or more around the perimeter that won't allow me to print on.
Is it possible I am missing some settings in In-Design that would prohibit me from filling the full page? Or is a function of the printer (I don't see any margins/etc set on the printer).
Thanks for any suggestions.

Most printers have a non-printing area around the edge which is used for paper transport. Is your printer designated as "birderless"? If so,  you'll need to pick a borderless page size (and Legal isn't likely to be included) in the driver setup, then set the page size inthe ID print dialog to Defined by Driver.

  • How to print pdf on a legal sized paper

I can't seem to print pdf files on legal sized paper properly. They always shrink it down. I have tried going to "paper handling" and clicking "scale to fit paper size" to US Legal.
On Copies and Pages I have to click "Fit to Printable Area" otherwise the document gets cut because the printable area is only 8 x 11.
I guess what I'm trying to say is how do I increase the printable area?

    Hi amanyeah,
Is it Legal size to start with?
If it is not, then you'll need to Save as..., like a tiff or jpeg & resize it to 8.5"*14" in say GraphicConverter...

Did you go to Page Setup and switch the Paper size to Legal?

  • HP Envy 4500 Will not print legal sized

I have an HP Envy 4500 and Windows 8, and I am trying to print a legal sized document from Microsoft Publisher.
The document will only print half of the  page.
When I first purchased the printer, I asked if it was compatible with Windows 8 AND if it would print legal sized, and was told yes.  When I began using the printer, it was printing legal sized just fine, not it's only printing half the page.
I have looked under all the settings, everything is set to print legal, the only thing that is not set to legal is under the Network Properties, under the "General" tab, where it says available paper - letter.  I cannot get that to change to legal, and am not sure if this is the reason why it's not printing.
I have scanned and cleaned my computer up, there are no viruses, malware, no pop ups, etc.
I have checked to see if there is an update for my printer driver, and there is none.
I need to be able to print legal.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi momfor2,
I understand that your printer is no longer printing legal size pages. I will do my best to help you with this issue.
I recommend Resetting the Printer to clear any errors and try printing again.  I also recommend Aligning the Cartridges Solution eight: in this document for Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.

  • How can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2?

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
    ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
    SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
    Hope this helps!

  • I'm editing a 24 page booklet which when I open in Pages 5.0.1 is single pages.  How can I change the format to facing pages to give to the printer?

I'm editing a 24 page booklet which was done about a year ago in another version of Pages.  When I open it now in Pages 5.0.1 it comes up as single pages.  My question is how do I get it back to a facing pages format to give to the printer?

Export to Pages 09 and use that. Version 5.1 lacks the ability to use alternating left/right margins and many, many other features that are present in Pages 09.  Pages 5.1 adds back a vertical ruler ( why ever was it omitted?) but still lacks about 90--that's nine zero, as in "nearly 100"-- features that were in Pages 09.  Some of these features are obscure , some very basic.  At this point, however, Pages 5.1 is a novelty application, basically useless for any serious work

  • I want to create a 5" x 7" multiple page booklet in Pages  what kind of template do I use to make sure the information is on the right page and will print on the proper sheets?

I want to create a 5" x 7" multiple page booklet in Pages.  What kind of template do I use so the text prints in order on the pages and on the right sheets?  HELP!!!!

While there are templates available for several n page booklets, using them requires a separate template for each size (in pages) booklet you'll want to make.
A better method is to use some form of imposition software for mac that will do the imposing (placing each page on the correct sheet) using a copy of your content, printed to a PDF document. The link is to a Google search using that phrase as the search term.
For a more detailed discussion of imposition and some of the available software, see Peter Breis's post "imposing booklets" at the iWork Tips & Tricks site. (Scroll down)

  • Printing on custom-sized pages (10.625" x 11.69") with my hp photosmart pro b8350.

I need to be able to print on custom-sized pages (10.625" x 11.69") with my HP Photosmart Pro B8350.  In fact, it's the only reason I have this printer.  I used to be able to, and don't know why I can't now.  I did upgrade my OS to Win7 a while back.  That may have been the killer.  It would really annoy me if my OS upgrade has rendered my printer totally useless.
(In case there's no solution to my problem, then here's my next question......)
If I can't do this anymore, I will need to buy a new printer that WILL allow me to print these special custom pages.  Any suggestions?

The envelope size that you might be talking about is a 6.75 Regular, or 6.75R.  If you were printing on window envelopes, it would be 6.75W.  In all my life, I have never heard of a #6 ep.  Yes, you have a challenge with 6.75 because the rollers are not in the correct place for this size of item.  In order for me to print 10R envelopes, I have to insert a precut sheet of paper inside the envelope so that the envelope pulls correctly and doesn't get jammed. You might try this with your 6.75 and see if that works for you.

  • Print 16 page booklet

How do I print a 16 page booklet 4 pages up, bothsided, without acrobat scaling my pages to a very small size and only printing 2 up, instead of 4 up?  It looks like Acrobat thinks the pages are all 8.5x11 but they are 4.25x5.5.
How can I remedy this problem.

You can print to a new PDF and select the 4-up in the printer properties (in some versions, I think there may be a multi-up on the print menu). My experience is that the margins seem to shrink the pages some and I have never figured a way out of that one. You might try to crop the pages to no margins first and then try the print from Acrobat to a new PDF.

  • Trouble Printing Mixed-Sized Pages

I converted a Word document with one 8.5x11 portrtait page and several 11x17 landscape pages using Adobe Acrobat 9.  When I print the pdf the 11x17 sheet rotates 180 degrees (prints upside down).  This started happening in June (around the time I was upgraded to Adobe 9).  My operating system is Windows XP. We have uninstalled the software and reinstalled several times.  I have had co-workers trouble-shoot by printing the pdf from Windows 2007 and to various printers, still the same problem.  Help.

    Hello 1blondeval,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I can only think to select the leagl pages to print and then select the letter pages to print.
But, to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial LaserJet Forums.
The support page for your product may be helpful in the meantime: HP LaserJet 4250 Printer

  • How to print both letter and legal size docs at same time with two trays

I have an HP Laser Jet P2055dn printer. How can I print both letter and legal docs at same time?

Not quite sure what you mean by "print both letter and legal docs at same time".
If you mean that sometimes you want to print a document on Letter size paper, and at other times you want to print a different document on Legal sized paper, then all that is neccessary is to ensure that:
The printer knows what Paper Size (e.g. Letter or Legal) is present in each tray; on many LaserJet devices, the size is detected automaticaly by sensors in each tray (except for the drop-down tray), but some devices may require that you set the size via front panel menus, or (for network models) via the Embedded Web Server equivalent.
You may also need to specify what Paper Type (e.g. Plain or Letterhead) is present in each tray, in order to distinguish between two or more trays which have the same paper size loaded.
Within your appllcation / print preferences, ensure that you select the required combination of size and type for the document.
But if you mean how do you print a document with some pages on one size of paper, and other pages on a different size, this may only be possible with bespoke applications and/or printer drivers.

I have a 4 page "booklet" and there is a slight gap btween bages 2 & 3 when I print.  I have it set up as a "centerfold"

Do you have a 4 page, facing pages document that you are running through Print Booklet?
    With or without bleeds?
Are all pages the same page size?
Any bleeds or margins set in the Print Dialog, through the Print Booklet dialog?

  • Officejet pro x476dw legal sized paper adf scan

    Hi,
I have been using officejet pro x476dw for 6months, and I figured out that I can't scan 2-sided legal sized document.
Is it impossible to scan 2-sided legal size documents on ADF?
Do I have to scan them MANUALLY?
If this machine doesn't support 2-sided legal paper scanning, is there any other ways to make this work easy?
I often have to scan over 40 pages with 2-sided legal sized paper..
    Please help me out experts....TT
I heard, Ricoh and Canon offer some drive to make it possible using software..
Does HP offer this kind of software too?...TT

The tray can be extended for legal size paper.  Remove the tray and note the blue release lever on the left side.  Releasing this lever will allow expanding the tray to legal size.  After expanding the tray move the center slider to provide appropriate alignment of the loaded paper.

  • Printer just started feeding a blank page after some, but not all printed documents

Printer just started feeding a blank page after some, but not all printed documents

    Hi @cam21 ,
I understand that you are having issues printing, after some documents you are getting blank pages. I would be happy to help you.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
What application are you printing from?
It may be a setting in the application.
Does this happen from all applications?
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. http://www.hp.com/go/tools>Using HP Diagnostic Tools for HP Printers in Windows.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional and in full view some pages get smaller.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional in full view some pages get smaller. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Further to this original post ---  OK, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program, to no avail.  I did however get a message which I had gotten before but since I was not yet aware that the program got installed with any problems, I had not noticed... This time I took notice.  The error message was clearly what it is about, at least to a great extent.  I got this message:  Warning 20225: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item:  Adobe PDF Port Printer may be unavailable.  GetLastError:  The operation completed successfully.  So then after the reinstallation, I went into Control Panel, Printers & Drivers and made a valiant attempt to manually install a virtual printer port.  I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed in another computer on which I have Windows XP Pro (yes the only other computer--  I am permitted two installations for this program--  I confirmed this with Adobe), by looking at Properties and copying down exactly the text, etc. which described the names of the two possible ports, etc.  Tried to "tell" my new computer (the one which has Windows 7) that it should set up and/or look for such a virtual port, again to no avail.  I am amazed that Adobe does not allow me to even pay cash money for tech support, but they wouldn't do it.  I guess you can have just so many employees who know the programs, etc.  Anyway, as I said before I may just break down and buy the 9.0 version which the Adobe techie told me is indeed compatable with Windows 7.  He did not tell me that Windows 7 was incompatible with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional but that 8.0 is indeed incompatible.  Just googled the term "Warning 20225" along with some relevant buzz words.  I can see there is still a bit of tweaking I may be able to do before I cry "uncle!"
