Printing to Airport HP Printer from HP Vista PC

I have had no problems using Bonjour to connect my existing Computers to my Airport Bonjour printer (a HP 3050) It works from my 2 desktop PC's, My Laptop PC, and my Mac.
I am replacing the oldest PC, with a new HP TOUCH 815 running Vista (all my old pc's run XP).
Bonjour's set up wizard located the airport hp printer, and sets it up no problem, but documents sent to the printer, fail to print, with an ambiguous "error while printing" message.
I've tried re-installing bonjour, and downloading new drivers for the hp 3050, as well as using a few generic drivers.
I am able to print when i connect the printer directly to the PC
What have I missed?

I, too, am having the same problem. I have a Toshiba A315 with an Atheros AR5006X Wireless connection and am having absolutely NO luck connecting! :PPP
I suspect that it may be a channel issue in this case.
Airport Extreme base station channel is on "Automatic"

  • Trying to print from a Vista computer to a printer connected to an XP computer

I am trying to print from a Windows Vista computer to a shared Laserjet p2035n printer connected via USB cable to a Windows XP computer.  When I try to print a test page 2 files are sent to the spool/printers folder on the XP computer but nothing prints.  The printer prints fine when printing directly from the XP computer.  When I found the printer on the network and told it to connect it installed automatically.  I thought maybe the wrong drivers were somehow installed so I downloaded and ran the Vista drivers file for this printer from the HP site but it didn't change anything.
I have cleared the spool folder and reinstalled the printer but still no joy.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Here is some additional information... The printer does print from other networked XP computers, just not from the networked Vista computer. This makes it seem like it must be a driver issue. Is there some way to totally remove the HP drivers for this printer from the Vista computer so that I can do a fresh install?  When I uninstall the printer from the Vista computer it obviously doesn't remove the drivers because when i reinstall the printer it goes in automatically without giving me a chance to specify where the drivers are.
Are there any known issues regarding printing from a networked Vista machine to a printer connected to an XP box?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone out there has!

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z Wireless connection prints from Windows Vista but not from Windows 7

HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z printer appears to be connected to my Dell Notebook running Windows 7 on the HP Solution Center page but does not print.Documents just get stuck in the que. It was printing then it wasn't then it was then it wasn't. The printer works when I print from an older notebook running Vista. The last time this happened, I uninstalled and reinstalled HP software and that didn't seem to help. Then, for some inexplicable reason, printing started working. Now it has stopped working again.I can scan from the Windows 7 Notebook but no printing. I've tried all of the troubleshooting tools I could find without success. Thanks for trying to help.

    Hello-
It could be caused by a couple things :
    1. Firewall on PC or in router.
    2. wireless interference (ie microwave, cordless phone base @ 2.4 Ghz)
    3. distance from router
    4. corrupt print driver.
Turn off any firewalls you have and move anything that can cause interference away from router.
If none of the above resolves issue, I'll have you install another print driver.
    Click on start.
    Go to Devices and Printers.
    Click on Add a Printer.
Add a Local printer. Create a new Port and choose "Standard TCP/IP port.
    Hit Next.
Type in 192.168.1.12 in the Hostname or IP address box. (uncheck "Query the printer" box)
    Hit next.
When the Printer List opens up, click on windows update. ( this will take a few mins)
After the box shows up, Pick HP (not Hewlett Packard) on the Left and pick "Deskjet 990c" on the Right.
Click next, set as default, and finish.
Try to print using the Deskjet 990c.

  • Error -  Printing from Windows Vista to OS 10.5.3

I have an HP Photosmart C3100 printer connected to my iMac by USB, and shared over a wireless network. I have no problems printing from my MacBook to this printer, but when I try to print from a Dell XPS with Windows Vista installed, I receive an error that it was unable to connect to the printer because access was denied.
When I first set up this shared printer on the XPS, I printed a page off the internet to test and it printed fine. Then I restarted the XPS and I can no longer print.

My printer is connected to my Desktop(Windows Vista) via USB and I want to share it to My Macbook(Mac OSX Lion) so that I can print documents wirelessly through my Macbook.

  • Can't Print from Windows Vista Notebook to Printer installed in Mac Mini

I have a home network that is connected to the internet by DSL. My Printer Xerox Phaser 3115 is installed to the Mac Mini.
From my Vista Notebook, I can see the printer shared by my Macmini. However, I can't print coz the printer says "access denied". I installed this Bonjour for Windows in order to print but it says "No Bonjour Printers are available".
    Please help me! Thanks!

On Windows, after either method of setup, change the driver (on PC) to Apple Color LaserWriter. Apple print queues expect postscript as input.
If this is unsatisfactory, you can create a RAW queue on the Mac (only for sharing the printer, because it will have no driver associated):

  • Acrobat Professional 7.0 hanging when printing from IE8 (Vista)

Hello.  I've done my best to troubleshoot on my own but am encontering problems when trying to print a document from within Internet Explorer 8 on a PC running 32-bit Vista.
Mind you I can print as I always have from any other browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera) without problem, but whenever I attempt to print any item to PDF using the installed Adobe PDF printer driver, the document simply sits in the printer spool queue with an "Error - Printing" status.  I have no problems whatsoever printing to PDF from any other application (Word, Excel, etc.)
I've done my best to verify any settings within IE, Vista, and AP7 that seem like they could have interfered but wasn't able to find any.  I wouldn't be surprised it it's the result of IE's layer-upon-layer of bloated and settings, but I have absolutely no idea where to begin.
I'd appreciate any useful guidance from others who may have experienced this, or a similar, phenomenon.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Airport Express prints from Vista but not Leopard

I have an airport express (G model, not N) which I've started to use as a print server. I'm using a Samsung ML-2510 printer. Everything worked just fine about yesterday, but today I'm finding that the Airport Express will only print from windows vista. On my wired macs nothing happens and it sometimes tells me the printer is busy, when it's not. On my wireless mac, an iBook, it tells me the printer is offline.
I can print from mac using a D-Link print server, but not from my airport express. Windows Vista has absolutely no problem with airport express. I find this a little odd.
Is there any way to fix this? I don't even know how it broke. I would like my airport express to work with my macs again.

Thanks for your reply- just to re focus my problem- I
have no issue with getting a wireless network "green
    light"
Which is the cable modem correctly giving the Express an IP from your ISP's DHCP pool of numbers.
    - my issue is I can't stream itunes or get a
usb printer to work off the xpress USB port.
I have checked everything as my posts explain- The
reason I have been looking at this thread is I have
never been able to see the airport in a "scan" per
    JDee post.
That is odd and doesn't happen on my wireless network!
Nor have I read in any post that an extra
    ip address is necessary
All routers have at least two IP's - an external and an internal. When the router acts as an internal DHCP server it hands out many more IP's. Your Express gets one external IP and the default internal one is set to 10.0.1.1 and the first IP handed out is 10.0.1.2, etc.
However I have seen different subnets- from dncp
    server.
Are you talking about the external IP's that your ISP is randomly assigning without your control? Are you talking about the different ways you can configure the internal DHCP numbers? If not there's something else going on. Everything on Douglas internal network should have an IP from the Express DHCP server vs. JDee's internal IP's should all be assigned by the modem/router DHCP server. Once you have everything on the same network numbers AirTunes, printers, and Airport Admin Utility lists just work!
Hey look I really appreciate your help here in
anyway- I'm really stumped. I want to stream music
really bad... and just don't see why it won't work-
    its drving me crazy...
I enjoy a good challenge, especially when they are solvable. After trying all the possible software and connection possibilities there's always the chance it's been a hardware failure all along
What IP number does your computer have and what number does the Express have? If it's a router it has two IP's!

  • Very slow printing from vista PC to PSC1355 on XP PC

My wife has a Vista laptop which connects wirelessly to my home network.
There is a PSC 1355 connected to my PC which runs XP.
The printer is shared and can be seen from the vista machine but when trying to print from the vista machine it is extremely slow in printing and viewing the printer`s settings. Also if the shared printer is setup as the default printer then the vista machine is very slow opening any MS office document.
I`ve searched all over the place for quite a while to try to resolve this problem to no avail. The printer can`t be setup on the vista machine because of it`s location.
    Any ideas?

  • How can I print from my IPAD3 to a printer connected to Airport Express?

How can I print from my IPAD3 to a printer connected to Airport Express? I have a HP printer and I can print from all my Windows PC and iMAC in the house. How can I print from my IPaD?

    You cannot.
The USB port on the AirPort Express allow sharing a printer with Windows and Mac OS X, not with iOS:
"Wireless printing over USB requires a compatible printer and OS X v10.2.7 or later, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7":
    http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/#wireless-printing
"AirPrint-enabled printers  connected using Bluetooth or shared through a USB port of a Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule are not supported":
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
The HP ePrint app also does not provide such functionality:
Can I print from the HP ePrint mobile app using USB or Bluetooth?
No. You can only print directly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network.

  • Can't print to windows Vista printer from Mac OS 10.6.7

    Hi All,
Proud new owner of iMac 27" and have successfully managed to set up file sharing between my new Mac and current Windows Vista machine.  Windows is attached to a Belkin 54g wireless router.  A Canon MP960 is attached to the Windows machine via USB.  The Mac is working with the network via Airport.
Problem is that I can't see the printer from the Mac.  I have tried manually setting up the printer to be shared with the Mac via:
Mac OS X v10.5 or later
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Fax from the View menu.
Click the + button to add a printer.
Press the Control key while clicking the "Default" icon (or any other icon on the toolbar), then choose Customize Toolbar from the contextual menu that appears.
Drag the Advanced (gear) icon to the toolbar.
    Click Done.
Click the Advanced icon that was added to the toolbar.
Choose Windows from the Type pop-up menu.
In the URL field, type the printer's address in one of the following formats:
    smb://workgroup/server/sharename
    smb://server/sharename
Note: "workgroup" is the name of the Windows workgroup that the computer sharing the printer belongs to. "server" is the name of the computer sharing the printer (or its IP address). "sharename" is the shared Windows printer's share name. If the share name contains spaces, replace each space with "%20" (without quotation marks).
Tip: You don't need a "workgroup" when specifying the IP address of the computer (such as when the printer is on a different subnet), or if your Mac belongs to the same Windows (SMB) workgroup.
In the Name field, type the name you would like to use for this printer in Mac OS X.
Choose the appropriate PPD or printer driver from the "Print Using" pop-up menu.
    Click Add
I have also allowed printer sharing on the windows machine.  I still can't print!
Can anyone please help?  Are there some settings I could have missed?

I have the same setup but with a Canon MX850.  This did not fix my problem.

  • Printing From iBook To Printer on a Vista, Can't see Vista shared printers

Printing From iBook To Printer on Windows Vista Desktop, Can't see shared printer on a Vista machine from a Mac, although Windows notebooks find it immediately. When same machine is booted into XP the priners share perfectly with both of my iBooks, but when the same machine is booted into Vista with the printer shared etc, the iBooks don't see the printer. Other Windows machines on the newtork do see the shared printers in Vista.
I have previously always had success sharing printers on Windows XP machines with my iBooks. . However upon installing Vista on my desktop I find I can no longer find the printer in the Mac's printer setup utility. When I dual boot back to XP everything works fine, but on the same machine when I boot into Vista I am unble to see the printers. The Mac printer setup utility finds the Vista machine on the network, but the printers are never visible. Is their some secret or channge in Vista that prevents Mac's running , in my case,Tiger 10.4.8 from seeing a shared printer on a computer running Vista
On the Vista machine, if I boot into XP The printer is shared and Windows notebooks can print to it, but neither of my iBooks can see the Printers when Vista is running.

  • Unable to print through Bonjour from Windows Vista

I recently installed an Airport Extreme for my wireless netowrk. I have two desktops directly connected to the Airport - an iMac and a PC running Windows Vista. There is also a Samsung USB printer connected to the airport. There are also two laptops connecting wirelessly - a PC running Windows Vista and a MacBook.
All of the computer are able to print fine using Bonjour EXCEPT the desktop running Vista. When I run Bonjour for Windows, it sees the printer and I select it. Then, when I try to print, nothing happens. Eventually, the print job times out and I get an error.
I've compared the settings to the laptop running Vista and everything is the same as far as I can tell. I can't figure out what's going on. I've turned off firewall software, called Apple support, and even gone so far as to do a system restore but nothing has worked.
    Any ideas?

Installing AirPort Utility on the PC won't buy you anything as far as setting up a printer.
Your best shot is to download, install and run Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2 to see if the application can "find" your printer on the network to allow you to print from the PC.
You may likely need to restart the entire network including the printer to get everything in sequence. Just power off every device in any order you want, wait a minute, then start the modem first and let it run a few minutes. Start other devices one at a time about a minute apart until the entire network is back up.

  • Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?

Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?
    a) HP printer with USB port only (no ethernet port) connected to Airport Express
    b) No issue printing from Macs
    Tests
    1) Installed Bonjour 2 - does not find printer (now uninstalled)
    2) Bonjour 3 is listed in programs but no way to access
    3) Using TCPIP address (and no Bonjour) gives 'Unsupported Personality' error when printing test page
    Regards
    Richard
p.s. why are all Windows 8.1 questios n the forum 'Locked' with no reply?

This is possible, but not with Bonjour or any other fixes.  It is just a printer set up based on the Port name of the Airport, 10.0.1.1.
I found the answer on YouTube, Title: Windows Printing For Apple AirPort Extreme without Bonjour Wireless wifi.

  • I cannot print from my iPad using airport express. My printer is not AirPrint compatible but is connected to airport express thru USB port. My laptop can print with no problem thru the express unit. My lap top is no a mac.

Good day, my iPad does not seem to pick up my printer. My printer is not AirPrint compatible but is connected to my airport express thru the USB port. My laptop which is windows type connects to the printer via airport express thru bonjour and this work well. My iPad does not pick up my printer thru the airport express. I have read about different software that you can download but this seems to be only if you are using a mac. I know my express is working fine as I can use airplay thru my iPad. Any ideas? I do not want to go to the expense of changing my printer, when there was no mention in the express details that your printer had to be AirPrint compatible or indeed wireless.

Unfortunately, connecting a non-AirPrint-enabled printer to an AirPort base station's USB port will not make it AirPrint-ready.
You will need to use another solution, like Printopia, to be able to print to this printer from an iOS device.
