Printing to different printers and paper sizes

I have Lion 10.7.4
I have Parralels 7 and run AutoCAD in Parrallels
I have a HP Deskject 9800 (USB connected) and an HP Laser Jet Pro CM1415fmw color MFP (wifi connected) all accessable from my MAcBookPro
Printing is a hassle from Autocad with my MAC OS. In WinXP, (prior to switching to MAC) I could assign a paper size to each printer in printer set up. Then when printing from AutoCAD I would just select the print I wanted for the paper size and done..... perfect!
However, in Mac with Parrallels AutoCAD does not really talk correctly through to the printers on the Mac side. So I have to go into Lion printer settings and change the paper size all the time between tabloid and US letter. I always forget and waste a lot of paper.
Looking for a way to set a Lion OS printer to a specific paper size and have it maintain that paper size while a different printer has a differenet paper size, but this doesn't seem possible.
Every time I change the paper size in the Lion OS for one printer it changes it for all printers.
Can anyone help me with this?

That is not currently possible.  See a similar discussion here.  You may also want to give Apple feedback if you do not find a convenient work around.  You can submit feedback at here.

  • Print to different printers by page size

Hi, i have a problem,  i need to print documents that have inside a lot of  different size pages(a4,A3,a1,A2,A0, a4x3 e.t.c.). Is it possible automaticly somehow to redirect a4,A3 pages to one printer and a1,A2,A0, a4x3 e.t.c. to other while printing whole file. I think this function will be useful in next acrobat version.
something like this, dewading A3 to two A4 not needed
    to acrobat team:
Did you thought about function that can make templates to printer like it made in AUTOCAD ? (*.pc3 files). It will be usefull when printer driver is not possible to save alot of page size formats. Autodesk fix this problem by making templates(like virtual printers) through that is possible to print, and in that is possible to save alot of page size formats that don't have original printer driver. It will be great if acrobat could use AUTOCAD *.pc3 templates to print through.

    Hi,
Normally Outlook rules only print via the default printer, selecting the printers is beyond the control of Outlook build-in rules.
If you have a rule written via a script, I suggest you post the question and the script to MSDN forum, in which you can get script specific support:

  • How to batch print different orientations and paper sizes?

Is there a way to batch print a group of exposures that differ in either orientation (Portrait or Landscape) or print size (4 X 6 and 8 X 10) or both orientation and print size?  I've not been able to find instructions on how do batch print.
Could I use Lightroom 2 for batch printing?  If so, how do I go about creating batch prints?

  • With Oki ML395 and Epson FX-1170 printers the paper size is incorrect

I've tried printing to an Oki ML 395 and an Epson FX-1170 (both dot matrix), through code, but the paper size is never the one that I configured.
The behaviour is the same for both printers.
I have set the Oki printer as the Windows default and also the report default, and chose the paper size "Fanfold 210mm x 12 in".
Then, when I preview the report, click the button to print and access the print options the paper size selected is always "Letter".
If I don't preview first, the print is always done with paper size "Letter".
I tried it on the designer and it works ok.
I tried changing the paper size to "A4" and it also works ok. Some paper sizes are correctly identified, while others are not and in theat case its used the paper size "Letter".
In these cases the CR used is 2008 SP3 and the .NET framework is 3.5 SP1.
My OS is Windows Vista but I have also seen this happen in XP, and the drivers installed are the ones from the OS.
I have also checked if the printers are unicode compliant and there is no mention on the specifications.
I've seen some issues with these kind of printers, but never this.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

Considering that the Epson printer driver was last updated in 2003 and the Oki printer has never been updated I highly doubt they are unicode compliant.
You may try to determine the enum of the page size and pass that to the report, but that is the only idea I have...
The attached devcap utility may help.

  • Smartform printing on different printers

    Dear Experts,
We have a PO form which is supposed to be printed on different printers across NA, Europe and Asia locations. The printer types are different with different device types too. While printing on these forms, the border in main window and footer is not visible in some of the printers. We have resolved this problem by doing adjustment in margin in SPAD. But users do not want this solution as this may require to change many printers in SPAD. They use these printers for other SAP document printing too, hence they are reluctant with this idea.
Do we have any standard solution?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the information.
But we have to change the device type for each printer. They are already using these old device types since long.
Even with SAPWIN, we have to change vertical and horizontal shift in SPAD transaction.
Do we have any other solution?
    Regards,
    Raja

I know the colour graphic shading in the document that causes the issue of larger file size, but it doesn't make sense that printing 1 additional page with same information as first 2 pages would cause this.

I have previously submitted a book for printing three different times and Apple has told me each time it's unreadable. I have previously previewed it each time before sending and it was perfect. I have followed all other directions - updated software, all other applications off etc. What am I doing wrong?

Boot into Safemode and Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • How do I set the print and paper size in iPhoto 5

Can somebody please help. How do you set up iPhoto 5 so that you define both the the size of the print and the photo paper you use?
For example, I wish to print a 4.5cm x 3.5 cm photo on 6x4 (or 15cm x 10cm to keep all the units the same) paper.
I've seen a post saying how to do it in iPhoto 8, but the drop-downs are different.

I do not remember the locations in iPhoto 5 but there are probably three places to mess with
1 - set the paper size
2 - set the print size
3 - set the paper tray for the printer to use that has the paper size that you set in step 1
these may be in the print sequence or under the file menu as page set up (or similar). If these are not obvious try the Help menu

  • About printer resolution and paper size

I need information about how to use the class PrinterResolution and his relation width paper size.
When i provide a cross a feed resolution to this class bigger values results in low resolutions: why? i dont now the DPI resolution meaning.
Please somme code example about this theme...Thanks a lot...

    Amy,
    1. I just took a picture today, and when I look in Image>resize>image size the dimensions are as follows:
    W=2288px H=1712px W=31.778" H=23.778" @72px/in. resolution
    When I change resolution to 325 px/in., W=7.04" H=5.268"
As the resolution is increased, the dimensions decrease. This is what is called an inverse relation.
Why did I change to 325px/in? Because for printing it is desirable to have a resolution of 240-300 px/in, or so. Also, note that this resolution gives me almost a perfect 5x7 size format, and one can crop off the excess readily. If one desires 4x6 size, one can crop to that dimension.
    2. I enhance the pictures next, leaving sharpening for the last step
    3. I save primarily in PSD and/or JPEG. Both PSD and TIFF allow one to retain layers, are lossless, and thus one avoids degradation with sequential editing. JPEG is is a compression format which conserves disk space (in comparison to PSD and TIFF), and is most likely required for your e-mail and your photo finisher. I save some of the JPEG files. I usually elect baseline optimized, and the JPEG allows me to elect quality 8, which is good for my purpose and results in a manageable file size.
    4. Right after I download my picture files from the camera, I burn them to a CD (i.e. before I do anything else), and right after I finish the final edits I burn them to CD as well. This is my "film", if you will. If the computer fails or if I should accidentally delete a file from disk, I still have it available.
I am sure that others will post, but that is my current work flow.

  • Firefox 4.0 (final released version) not printing on different computers and printers preview same way prints only url on top of pages

This is happening on different OS's Win 7, Win XP, Win Vista (32 & 64 Bit) OS's and various printers HP, Lexmark that we have at several different sites where we have computers. This happens on locally installed printers (LPT1, USB) and IP networked printers. ALL printer drivers are current and worked correctly under Firefox 3.6.15. Print previews show the correct printers but only shows the URL's on the top of the pages which is all that prints, it even happens on when trying to print pdf's. This is happening on all fifty computers that we have that have been upgraded to ver 4.0 from ver Firefox 3.6.15. Updates made within FF update tool. Same thing happens with all add-ons disabled on all computers. Read all knowledge base items on printing problems none helpful. Obviously, something is not working right. Any suggestions?

Is there anyone who might be able to offer some suggestions on this issue, please?
I posted this question/issue 48 hours ago, and it's floating downhill in the queue without any replies. I am still paralyzed, unable to print.
Bob Headrick, I notice that you are omnipresent on this forum, and also very knowlegeable. May I ask for your thoughts on this issue?  I believe I've followed all the rules here--posting the specifics of the problem, the model numbers and configurations of all equipment, the software involved--but if I've failed to follow forum protocol in any way, please let me know and I'll do my best to post the information you need. I'm sorry to call you out by name, but I'm unclear on how to get help, and I'm at a loss for a solution to this issue.
Thanks in advance to Bob and/or anyone else who has a moment to help on this incredibly frustrating issue.

  • MF8580 prints two pages, then gives paper size and settings mismatch error. Help!

Hello, I have been dealing with this problem for weeks now. When i called support, they told me it was my computer, that it was "running slow" and that i need to pay for their service - that fixing errors in my registry would fix the problem. However, i have my own registry cleaner and that isnt the problem. Every time i print something, the printer will print the first two pages, and then beep, giving me the error "paper size and settings mismatch Drawer 1" - I have everything set to letter - in the driver, on the printer, etc. I do nto understand why it prints two pages and then tells me there is a mismatch. If i open and close the drawer, it will print the second page again and then the third page, and give me the same error again. rinse and repeat. This also happens when multiple documents are spooled. I send three - one page documents, it will print the first and second, give me the error, i open and close the paper drawer 1, then it prints document two and three - then gives me the same error - i open and reclose and it prints the thrid document... I am just baffeled.

  • Word document won't 'print' to PDF on proper paper size

I have a document in MS Word that's on a 5.5x8.5 page size. If I do a Save As, the resulting PDF uses the proper paper size, but it also shows color--which I don't want for this particular document.
When I do Print and choose Adobe PDF, I can choose Black/white which is great, but I'm struggling to get it to use the right paper size. I've tried ever combination I can think of in the Default Setting and Adobe PDF Page Size options, but can't get it to show anything but 8.5x11.
Any thoughts on how to get the right paper size using Print to PDF?

Is this a Word document generated by Adobe's RoboHelp product or just a document generated directly in Word?
If the latter, you are asking in the wrong place. Even if you are using RoboHelp, this looks more like a question to ask in the Acrobat forums.

  • Export to PDF and Paper size

    Hi,
I am using Crystal reports 10 and am exporting the report to pdf. I have set PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperLegal in the asp.net code. The exported pdf looks good according to the paper size set but when I print the pdf it is printing in letter size. Please help. I want the pdf to print in the legal size.
    Thanks,
    Priya

    Hi,
Thanks for the response. It still did not resolve the problem. I use vb.net and I used the following code:
    Dim oPrinterSettings As System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings
                    oPrinterSettings = New System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings()
                    'oPrinterSettings.PrinterName = ""
                    Dim oPaperSize As System.Drawing.Printing.PaperSize
                    For Each oPaperSize In oPrinterSettings.PaperSizes
                        If oPaperSize.PaperName = "Legal" Then
                            objReportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperSize = CType(oPaperSize.RawKind, CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize)
                            Exit For
                        End If
                    Next
After this I am actually exporting the report to pdf which then opens in adobe pdf reader. I do not use crystal reports viewer. Adobe print dialog always show the letter size. There is an option in page handling -> Choose paper size by pdf page size in the print dialog in adobe. If I choose that then the preview changes to legal but I am not able to set the paper size to legal programmatically.
    Thanks,
    Priya

  • Printer won't scale to paper size

    I have a HP Photosmart C6270.
Recently I did a clean install on my computer and also reinstalled the printer as a network printer (instead of previously directly through USB.) I also updated all HP software.
Regularly I receive PDF docs, some of which are formatted on pages bigger than I can print  (A4 is the standard I use) BUT despite selecting "Scale to paper size", the printer app (and subsequently the physical print), ignore this instruction and the document remains too big.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi @hazelbethe
I believe if you remove the paper tray and reinstall it, the sensor will reset. If the issue persists, complete the steps in the following document; 'Paper Mismatch,' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error Message Displays When Printing.
    I hope this helps.
