Printing to Greyscale only

I've changed my printer settings to print only in greyscale, but when i use the eprint function, it prints in colour. The HP eprint site isn't accepting my code / ID details. How do I change it?

What operating system do you use in your computer? i.e. Win 7 64 bits and is current in the updates.
Please clarify what your issue is?
You cannot sing in hpeprintcenter.com?

No option to print in black only

PROBLEM:
Do not have an option to print with BLACK ink only.
Background:
Have a Photosmart D5160 printer.
Up until a few weeks ago experienced no problems with printer. Then installed non-HP ink carts and experienced some faults. About this same time, the PRINTER PROPERTIES box change to a different, four tab format: ADVANCED, PRINTING SHORTCUTS, FEATURES, and COLOR. The old PROPERTIES box displayed four printer options: DRAFT MODE, Black & WHITE, COLOR, and GRAYSCALE.
I have since installed new HP ink carts, and the problem persists.
Deinstalled and reinstalled, several times, the printer itself and software from the CD, followed by d/loading updated drivers from HP. All without resolving my problem.
Two questions:
1 - How can I restore the old properties option box?
2 - How can I print with black ink only with the new property box?

I found it:
It's now under File, Print, Preferences, Advanced, Print In Greyscale, then drop box Black Ink Only.

Setting Default printing as Black only

I know how to enable printing in black only using printer properties and colour ->greyscale-> in black ink only.But that setting lasts only for that session/ file being printed. If I load another file or another session the default goes back to colour. Even if I make a printing short cut that short cut gets saved but is not the default. I have solved the problem by removing the colour cartridge and the printer prints in black only even if I do not change the setting from "colour". This works but is there any other elegant solution? Did you download and install the HP Deskjet F4200/F4224 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driveror are you using the preinstalled Windows drivers? I have provided a document for setting the default printer settings for a single job and for all print jobs. Most likely this is the way you have set the black only.HP Deskjet, Officejet, and Photosmart Printers and All-in-Ones - Changing Print Settings in Windows 8. If the black only isn't holding the setting in the print driver, I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the print drivers. They might have become corrupted. Printing to greyscale by default with the Canon CLC 4040-H1 v2.0 PS Driver

We recently got our new Canon CLC 4040-H1 up and running with the v2.0 PS Driver.
The problem is, unlike our Canon 3220-C1, we're unable to set it to print to greyscale by default.
In the client driver software for both the 3220-C1 and the 4040-H1 there is a drop down menu for choosing colour, greyscale or "printer's default." The "printer's default" option is also the drop down menu's default setting.
The problem is, as opposed to the 3220-C1, the 4040-H1's Fiery onboard driver software doesn't have an option under PS Setup to choose what you want this default setting to be. So the default is colour.
We've got our technical engineer's looking into it further but I'm not holding my breath. In typical Canon style we have a regression inherent in our "upgrade" and trying to get Canon or EFI to update this driver software will probably be like getting blood out of a stone.
So, does anyone know a work-around for this? Have I overlooked anything?

We don't use this setting on our iR C5185-H1, as we have a b&w iR for text-only work, but I checked the H1 config page and agree that no setting is available to default the machine to grayscale. The interesting thing is that without the H1, the iR C does have the ability to set b&w as a default, but this setting is not available when the H1 is attached.
The only thing I can suggest is to create a b&w preset and educate your users on using this preset. Note that once a preset is selected, it will stay the default until the preset is changed.

I would recommend to make sure that your printer is installed properly using the Apple Software Update, I would also make sure the Mac is up-to-date as well, Get software updates for your Mac. Since there are no full feature software and drivers, and only the basic driver available through the OS X 10.10 Operating System, this might not be an option for you. In Contacts version 8, how can I print ALL information in each individual card? When I select the print command the only thing printed is the name and address. I need phone number(s) and all other information in the cards. We enter various pieces of data, other than the standard name address & phone numbers and we print all information on each card so it fits in a 5x7 inch loose binder. We have used InTouch software for many years and it has served us extremely welll, however, the publisher (The Prairie Group) has not, and apparently has no plans to update their software to be compatible with any Mac OSX OS beyond 10.6. Any help will be appreciated!

You can select what you want included in a list format. In the Print command from Contacts, click the Show Details button. Then in the Style pulldown menu select "Lists" and there you'll be able to select what you want included. You can also select what you wish included if you select the Pocket Address Book style.
If neither of those options will work for you, then you will need to look to third-party software. Here's one possibility that seems to get good reviews:

I haven't done more than try it to make sure that it works with OS X 10.9's Contacts, which it does, but you can download their demo and try it yourself.

I have a HP color laserjet 2500, I need to print in black only, I have a nice full toner, but the yellow has just ran out and it's flashing on the top of the printer, can I tell the printer to ignor this and just use the black as the documents are all in black/grey?

*click on start
*go to the control panel
*go to printers for windows vista user
*go to printers and faxes for windows xp user
*right click on your printer icon
*go to printing preferences
*select on color tab
*you will see options for color
*select the print in grayscale
*click on apply or ok button
*try to print

Officejet Pro 8620 will not print old documents, only newly created ones

When I use the driver designed for the printer I can only print documents (Word, Excel, and Publish 2007) that are new, as long as I have not copied and pasted or inserted sheets from previously created documents. It will not print any Outlook 2007 emails but it prints PDF's fine. Also, the printer works fine with driver for deskjet 990c but limits my options on page size and the margin on the right side won't change and are way to big for most of my documents. Any thoughts?

Running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.

Can't Print B&W Only With Samsung CLP-300N

I recently purchased an iMac to replace my XP CD. I've been a Windows XP user for a while, and had a Samsung CLP-300N attached to my network. I was able to fine-tune the printer driver settings (quality, number of copies, bw/color, etc) in Windows XP. However, i recently attached the Samsung to my Mac (Leopard 10.5.4) and the printer gets added just fine, and I'm able to print.
However, I'd like to be able to **just print B&W** to cut down on cost. I did this in Windows by defining one printer (and adjusting the settings) for Color and one for B&W. But I can't set the B&W only on the Mac.
I went to samsung's website and downloaded the driver - this doesn't give me a utility. When I click the Utility icon in the print queue, it takes me to the configuration webpage of the printer itself (http://192.168.1.5).
I also installed their SPanel took which is nothing more than the configuration webpage right on your desktop; the configuration webpage gives you no options for printing B&W only.
I tried adding the printer a second time with just a Generic Driver (hoping it would only print in B&W). No luck... the green light just flashes on the printer.
I was wondering if a) anyone had similar issues with this printer or b) anyone knows of a suitable generic driver I can use to just print B&W.

Yes. I have similar issues. My "solution" is Bootcamp. Sounds silly, maybe, but like you I want B&W only most of the time.
Really only takes a couple of minutes to reboot from OS X to OS XP. I assume you still have your Windows software, so you can operate as usual. I am resigned to the fact that some of the software I use has no real Mac equivalent, or I cannot afford to repurchase.
If you come up with a B&W driver for the CLP-300, could you please post. It would probably help a few people in the same boat. Best of luck.
