Printing to HP Laserjet 3200

I am having problems printing from my iMac to my Laserjet 3200.
Drivers downloaded.
Printer connected via USB
I can chose to print to the printer, but when I print I get multiple pages of single lines of random characters.
Any good ideas appreciated

Sounds like you're trying to use a postscript driver - but it's not a postscript printer.
Make sure you use the 3200 driver (not the 3200m). If you don't see one, update your Gutenprint drivers from:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

I have an Airport Express, a PC laptop, and a iMac G5. I also have a HP Laserjet 3200 connected to Airport Express. With a PC laptop, the printer has absolutely no problem printing. However, with an iMac (running 10.4.3), the printing doesn't work. Whatever I try to print, it spits out texts starting with "%!PS-Adobe-3.0... %RBINumCopies: 1...". I assume that Macintosh is trying to send PostScript command to the printer, but the printer doesn't understand it as such...
From internet, I do have Foomatic/hpijs driver for HP Laserjet 3200, and I can print via the driver. However, given choices, I'd rather not use that driver, as the printed copy looks horrendous.
I doubt I have a weird configuration... so what am I doing wrong?

Looking from other posts, there are other users with similar problems (not with the same model but the problem description sounds identical). Are there solutions to this without having to use HPIJS?

Can't print in OS 10.4.7 on an HP LaserJet 3200

I am a new Apple User.
I have updated the drivers from the HP website.
The iMac sees the HP LaserJet 3200 but, from Text Edit, only prints a few lines of junk followed by several blank pages and more junk.
I don't understand why there is a problem since the Apple site clearly shows this printer as supported.

From what I read on the HP site, the 3200 is a PCL printer, while the 3200M is a postscript printer. Your symptoms sound like sending postscript to a non-postscript printer. Where this occurs with HP models, OS X always has the PPD(driver) for the postscript version only.
Luckily, you have other driver choices already installed on your Mac. Try HP Lasejet 6 Series, Gimp-Print.
Or, try Laserjet 3200, Gimp-Print (I'm not certain you have this choice - I have already upgraded my Gimp-Print drivers to the newer version called GutenPrint 5.0.0):

How to print on HP LaserJet 2200 over Ethernet?

I did an upgrade to Snow Leopard and would like to print on a HP LaserJet 2200 over Ethernet. OS X and the HP printer drivers are up to date now.
The printer has been cold reset and on the configuration print out there's the IP address 0.0.0.0
Now my question is how to get this printer to work with Snow Leopard over Ethernet? I did not find a tutorial how to assign an IP address to the printer first so I got stuck.
Could you give me a hint where I should start with the configuration first?

OK, now the printer works
I reset the router and checked if DHPC is running.
I reset the printer (hold down the GO button, turn the printer on and continue to hold the GO button for five to ten seconds).
Checked at router that the printer is visible as network device.
At the router I assigned a fixed IP address to the printer.
At OS X System Preferences > Printer I added a new printer with "HP Jetdirect - Socket", the fixed IP address and the correct printer driver "HP LaserJet 2200".
Now the printer has been recognized well by the system (Tray 3, Duplex and printer RAM) and printing works.

If I understand your question, you would like to use the AiO remote app on your iPad with your Laserjet 4050, correct? If this is case, unfortunately, the AiO remote app is not supported with the Laserjet 4050 and the iPad.

X61 won't print to HP Laserjet 5200tn

Hello. I work in a college. A user wants to print to the 5200tn next to his office but cannot with his new X61 tablet. We tested other computers and they print fine to this printer, but in testing another X61 tablet no prints would be produced. Pinging the printer is fine from the tablets, the install of the printer goes fine, drivers are updated, so it appears everything is o.k. but for some reason X61 tablets won't print to a Laserjet 5200tn in our network.
Any ideas?

Driver(s) to print on HP Laserjet 4000n and HP Deskjet 722C printers for Windows 7 (64bit)

I'm introducing a Windows 7 64bit) computer in a network of Windows XP (32bit) computers.
How do I find driver(s) to print on HP Laserjet 4000n and HP Deskjet 722C printers in a network that uses Windows 7 (64bit) and Windows XP (32bit)? Printer sharing is done using a Windows XP (32bit) base computer.
Should I load a 64bit driver on the 32bit XP computer for the benefit of the Windows 7 computer or will that mess up the XP computer?

Hello, the HP laser jet 4000n you install the drivers via windows update procedure. The HP 722C is not supported under Windows 7 due to it's age.

I am trying to restrict color printing on my laserjet 4700dn for my network

Here is my issue. I am trying to restrict color printing on my Laserjet 4700dn for my network. I have configured it for "color if Allowed" and all works perfectly. I was then going to allow certain users to print in color so I started by configuring my username and allow color. Every time I print it is still in black and white. I then decided to look at the color usage log and what I found would explain why. The color usage log only shows the username of one user on my network. All other jobs just show the date and number of pages. So my issue is why can my printer not see all the other users and how do I configure it to do so. Also why would only that one user show in the log. It also does not show any applications but it does for that one user. Is there something else that needs to be installed on the computers for it work?

Problems with printing( hp Color LaserJet)

Printer HP Color LaserJet 1500L under Mac OS 10.4.2 Tiger refuses to work normally. It prints 1 or sometimes 2 sheets of paper and then it stops working. All other tasks just move from the active category into completed one without any printing. Printer's indicator starts to wink but then it stops and nothing more happens. The next printing begins only after switching the printer off and on or after restarting operation system. After this it prints 1 or 2 pages and everything begins again. We tryed to use standart drivers which were attached to the printer and the drivers which we downloaded from the HP official site. There is no difference. We tryed to connect the printer to another Macintosh computer under Mas OS X 10.4.2 but the problems didn't disappear. Also we tryed to change USB cable between the printer and the computer. It also didn't matter. Before it the printer worked under Windows XP normally without any problems.

Same printer, similar problems. I get stopped jobs that refuse to print even after I hit the start printing button. There is a message on this site tackling this issue for an Epson printer. Haven’t tried it out yet myself.
