Printing to Larege Architectural Pages Sizes

I have seen some discussion regarding the disappearance of the default Arch size defaults.  My issue is printing from Adobe to Arch D on HP plotter, and therefore to scale. This was available on earlier versions, and now only ANSI sizes are available, makes no sense please help.

I am using X Pro.  It just upgraded as well to a new interface, but the problem existed before.  Creating all the sizes when they were available in the previous versions just seems so unproductive.  I have also read that Adobe grabs from the printer driver, however, when I print to adobe from Autocad, they all exist, however not when I print from Adobe to the plotter.  I have tried to import the .pdf  to Autocad and then plot but the file becomes huge and crashes the HP800....go figure.

  • Printing to PDF (custom page size) from AutoCAD Won't Work Anymore

    The DWG to PDF driver provided with AutoCAD 2013 will not save my artwork to a high enough resolution for me to use.  See attached screen shots of the PDF's printed by AutoCAD's DWG to PDF driver.
    The only PDF print driver that I have found that will is the Adobe PDF driver provided with my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro software.  See attached screen shot of the PDF printed by the Adobe PDF driver.  HOWEVER, I can only print to a standard paper size and I MUST print to a custom page size.  When I try printing to a custom page size it will no longer let me save the PDF.  It simply skips the save window.  It used to work fine up until this past week, but when I came into work on Monday morning it stopped working.  I cannot for the life of me figure out why it won't work now!
    DWG to PDF set to Maximum Quality (400 DPI)
    DWG to PDF set to Custom 1200DPI
    Adobe PDF set to Custom 4000DPI

    Try opening the DWG file in AutoCAD 2013 and changing its file format to an older version of Autocad (i.e, 2010/2011/2012).

    What happens when you select a scale higher than 40%?

  • Page size printing problems with custom page size I created

    I have created a custom page size (very small) for printing an advertise I had to print, and now after that operation all the pages I ask to print to any printer are automatically printed in that setup, and sometimes even if I change to A4 manually, the page changes but the borders of the page still remain the old one (result i can not print). How can I cancel the custom page size I created, so that my printers restart to print automatically in A4?

  • Printing on non-standard page size

    Hi
    I'm developing a class that prints a single page tiff on plotter. The page size is not standard. In most cases it is as wide as an A0 or as an A3 but the height has to be computed depending on the size of the image.
    First question: how can I get the height in 72nds of an inch from a RenderedImage that contains the tiff? All I can get is its size in pixels, but I cannot get the resolution...
    Second question: I tried to set the paper size in the pageformat with a new instance of Paper and also the imageableArea, but some part of the image are not printed and the image is deformed.
    Have you got any suggestion?
    Here's the piece of my class that actually prints. If you need, I can post the entire class
    class PrintTif implements Printable {
    public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat f, int pageIndex) {
          if (pageIndex >= 1) {
            return Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
          if (renderedImage != null) {
                  //  Converts the image size in 72nd of inch
                  //  supposing it has 200x200 dpi (it is so, but I don't know why)
                  double w = (double) renderedImage.getWidth() / 200.0 * 72.0;
                  double h = (double) renderedImage.getHeight() / 200.0 * 72.0;
                  // Set the papersize and the imageableArea at the sime size
                  Paper paper = new Paper();
                  paper.setSize(w, h);
                  paper.setImageableArea(0,0,w,h);
                  f.setPaper(paper);
                  f.setOrientation(w > h ? PageFormat.LANDSCAPE :
                                   PageFormat.PORTRAIT);
            // convert to a BufferedImage since I cannot write a RenderedImage for some reason
            BufferedImage good = new BufferedImage(
                  renderedImage.getWidth(), renderedImage.getHeight(),
                  BufferedImage.TYPE_BYTE_GRAY);
            Graphics2D g2dtemp = (Graphics2D) good.getGraphics();
            g2dtemp.drawRenderedImage(renderedImage, new AffineTransform());
            Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g;
            g2d.translate(f.getImageableX(), f.getImageableY());
            g2d.drawImage(good, 0, 0 , (int) f.getImageableWidth(),
                          (int) f.getImageableHeight(), 0, 0,
                          renderedImage.getWidth(),
                          renderedImage.getHeight(), null);
            return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
          else {
            return Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
    }

    Hi,
    According to the printers paper handling specifications, it's not able to handle A4 card.

  • Printing Postscript from Multiple page sizes

    I'm working at a screen shop, printing .ps files for film. Most of the art is provided from the client on seperate artboards of varying size. In the print dialog box I select "custom" from media size options. This sets my page size to the size of the selected artboard. The problem is each page needs to be a different size so I am forced to print each page one at a time. Is there a way for illustrator to change the media size per artboard? Is there a work around?

    Probably something that could be done with a script...

  • Print Booklet reporting different page sizes

    I recently had to reload InDesign CS6 and now on my 16 page booklet I get an error that says the pages are different sizes and it cannot print in "print booklet".  Only after I reloaded the program did I start having this problem. I have been using this booklet template for months. I can save to PDF but prefer to print from InDesign.

    I got your file, and I have bad news and good news. We'll start with the bad news.
    It does the same thing here. I tried export to .idml, resizing all the pages withthe page tool, and moving the pages into a new file, all without success. My conclusion is there's a page that's corrupt and thinks it's a size that it is not. I looked at the file history, and I see it began life in CS5.5, crashed at least twice and was recovered and went from being edited in version 7.5.0 to 7.5.2 and then back to 7.5.0 before being opened and converted in CS6. My suspicion is that you recycle this file month after month by deleting the stuff that no longer applies, then adding new stuff in. Working that way, over time, small errors can creep into a file, none of which might be enough to cause a problem on its own, but taken together they create a disaster. Version 7.5.0 was buggy, too, so that may not have helped, either.
    With a document like this, where a lot of the content is the same over a long period I recommend creating a "shell" document with the things that repeat, your styles, and any swatches you use, then save it as a template file (.indt). For each new version you open the template, whcih gives you a fresh copy. If there is somthing from the previous version that should be reuded, copy and paste from the older version into the new one, or place it again. This workflow greatly reduces the chances of cumulative file damage.
    Now for the good news.
    While moving the pages to a new document was not successful, going spread by spread, selecting all, copying, then pasting in place in a new doc did work.

  • Default print settings - Print by page size

    Hello,
    I use Acrobat to print odd size documents (odd, meaning other than 8 1/2 x 11, and 11 x 17). I was wondering if there was a setting to default Acrobat to print to a certain page size everytime no matter what dimensions the PDF is?
    Thanks!

    Have the same issue.  Did you get it resolved?

  • Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

    Hi,
    I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
    The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
    I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
    Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
    I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....
    Thank you .....

    Hi Anil,
    After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
    width and page height of the report.
    But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:

  • How to reserve the page size when exporting to MS Excel 2010

    Hello. I have a report which exports to MS Excel 2010. I applied the page size as legal in Crystal Report and would like to use the same page size in Excel
    However, MS Excel print preview says the page size is letter.
    How could I keep the same page size in Excel as I applied in Crystal Report. We have a lot of business reports and would like to avoid applying page setting manually in Excel when users print them out each time.
    Thank you.

    Hi Christine
    I am in the process of writing a doc on the different options in CR and the "No Printer" option sis one of those. Seeing this post, made me wonder as this looked like a questionable behavior. My testing does not support your observations. Now, I did a very simple test;
    Created a report, set "No Printer", set the paper size and legal orientation. Exported to XLS - any format, and the export maintained legal paper size in all instance. I did a few other variations, but I can never get the report to export anything other than Landscape.
    Can you  please let me know the version of CR you are using?
    You may also want to attach the report here with saved data (to attach rename the rpt to txt, then in the reply hit on the "Use advanced editor" link and attach.
    BTW.; I am using CR 2013.

  • How can I create one pdf from a FrameMaker Book with mixed page sizes.

    Looking for an easier way to create one pdf from a FrameMaker book that has files with different pages sizes; letter and tabloid.
    So far, I have not been able to find a way to set up the Adobe PDF printer or Distiller to read the page size from the source files in the book and then create one pdf with the appropriate page sizes based on the file sizes in the FrameMaker book. I can create a pdf of the book using a multi-step process where I create a pdf for each page size and then combine them into one file. This is a lot of work.
    Is there a way to set the Adobe PDF printer where it reads page size from the source files and then creates one pdf with a mixed page sizes?
    Using FrameMaker 7 and 10 and Acrobat X Pro.
    Thanks for any suggestions

  • Wrong PDF page size in Excel

    When I use PDFMaker to "print" the print area of one particular spreadsheet, the Adobe PDF page size is 11.18 x 14.47 inches.
    When I use Adobe PDF printer, the Adope PDF page size is 8.5 x 11.0.
    Excel Page size = Letter (8.5 x 11.0)
    Excel Page orientation = Portrait
    Excel Page Parameter = Fit print area to 1 page x 1 page
    Selected Printer = Adobe PDF
    Selected Paper size in Adobe PDF dialog boxes = Letter
    Selected Paper size in PDFMaker Preferences = Letter
    When I change the Excel Page Size to Tabloid (11 x 17):
    Adobe PDF printer creates a page size of 11.0 x 17.0
    Adobe PDF Maker creates a page size of 11.0 x 17.0
    Can anyone shed light on the problem experienced by PDFMaker on the Letter sized request?
    I am running:
    Windows XP, SP3
    MS Excel 2007
    Acrobat 9.1.2
    PDFMOfficeAddin.dll version 9.1.0.0
    PDFMExcel.dll version 9.1.0.0

    Hello everyone!
    It's been long since this topic was active but I just wanted to share my solution to a similar problem.
    I was trying to use the built-in Save as PDF function of Excel 2007 and my sheet which also had some headers and footers was not coming out correctly.
    From Page Layout tab, I clicked the small icon on the corner of the Page Setup. Then I clicked the Header/Footer tab and removed the tick next to where it says "Scale with document" and viola! I miraculously could export my sheet in the correct page size.
    May this be helpful to not just who have had this problem before, but also the ones that will come afterwards!
    Cheers!

  • Cannot create PDF w/ custom page size in FM 9

    I just upgraded to the new Technical Communication Suite and cannot create a PDF from FrameMaker with a custom page size anymore. I need to create a PDF with a page size of 8.125" by 10.875", and have tried both Save As PDF and Print to the PDF driver. I followed all of the instructions on how to do so via the PDF printer driver's "Printing Preferences", Adobe PDF page size, etc. When that didn't work, I also tried Save As PDF with a custom page size ... still won't print to the custom size no matter how many places I specify it.
    My only way to get my custom page size at this point is to create the PDF and then go in and modify Document > Crop Pages > Change Page Size to Custom, and specify my size. This is clearly less than desirable.
    I am using FM version 9.0p 196. Any help/advice/suggestions welcome!

    Cindy,
    You should get the FM updates. There have been 3 patches released since the 9.0p196 version. Install them in order.
    Before creating PDFs, make certain that your default printer is set to the AdobePDF printer instance. The SetPrint utility from Sundorne helps ensure that this is always the case for FM, see http://www.sundorne.com/FrameMaker/Freeware/setPrint.htm
    In the Save As PDF dialogue, set the "Page Size" for the output on the Settings tab, as shown here:
    Set your PDF joboptions for the appropriate press requirements.
    Set your registration if required.
    Make sure the "Convert CMYK Colors to RGB" is set (the PDF CMYK generation is still buggy).
    Hit the "Set" button and you should get the correctly sized output.
    When you were creating the ouptut via the printer route, if you had set the "Generate Acrobat Data" option, then FM sets the document so that it is always cropped to the FM page size, rather than the printer specified output sheet size, in the final PDF. Omit setting this option and it should work via this route as well.

  • Where can I set the default to be always "choose paper source by PDF page size".

    every time I print a pdf document, it doesn't print in the correct page size unless I manually select this option.  Can I set this to always be marked so all my pdf print on correct paper size?

    Hi heathers,
    You would need to print the file to a new PDF with the appropriate page size.
    Best,

  • Page size and rulers

    How do I give a page size in the new numbers? I like to see my page as an A4 when I fill in (or design) an invoice.
    The rulers are in points instead of centimeters. How to change that? Any advice?

    Select the menu item "File > Print" then select the page size in the print preview.
