Printing to Lexmark X2580/HP Officejet K60

I'm having too many problems for something easy. With both printers (I tried them one at a time), the computer talks to the printer and sends the print jobs but nothing ever happens (no printing). No error messages, just no printing. I figure a driver problem, downloaded the Lexmark driver, was able to print sample page only but nothing else. HP driver is pre-installed on OS (but i still have to select it - strange since it recognizes the printer). Whasup? Thanks in advance. I'm spankin' new to Mac.

Hi DNLD66
Welcome to Apple Discussions
Perhaps there is a failed job preventing the HP from printing any new ones? Go to *System Preferences / Print & Fax* select the HP from the Printers list then *Open Print Queue...* delete all the Jobs and try printing something again.

  • OfficeJet K60 printing help needed

    Hi everyone,
I recently made the switch from Windows to Mac. I'm happy except that I can't get my HP OfficeJet K60 to print. I have it connected via USB and the printer setup utility easily recognized it. When I attempt to print, the printer utility will show that the document is "sending" for several minutes to the printer and then just stops as though sending and printing was completed, but nothing prints out and it doesn't appear as though the printer recognizes any input.
Any suggestions? I have OS X 10.4.6 which already has Footmatic/hpijs as part of the setup? I have looked up old responses to the question, but they all refer to downloading hpijs, but it is already on my new powerbook and it still won't print. I love my k60 and don't want to have to toss it because of this problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Yovi

I have the exact same computer, operating system, and printer, and I am stuck as well. Have you had any luck yet? It doesn't look like there are any OSX drivers for this printer and OSX doesn't have the K60 as an option for HP printers... this is a dubie

  • Written and visual Instructions to disassemble OfficeJet K60

    Hi,
I have an old HP Officejet K60 All in one that was only used a few times and then was put into storage. I recently brought it back out and tried to use it, but while trying to align cartridge the print head would move to the left then move back to the right next to the service station and would stall there for a couple of seconds while making this noise (sounds like it was trying to move, but could not) and then the print head would move to the left side and then back to the right (but not into the service station) then it stops there with a waring light blinking and beeps 3 times ("beep-beep-beep", "beep-beep-beep", "beep-beep-beep") and on the LCD screen it says "Clear Carriage Jam". I check and there was no paper jam in there.
I had a better look into my printer and saw a piece of something obstructing the print carriage from entering the service station. I touched it and it fell over and so I pick it out and it looks like a part that the printer cartridge stands on when in the service station. Took a better look inside with a flash light and it looks like the service station assembly area fell apart. There are parts broken and a spring that is not assemble but just laying around.
Would someone be nice enough to tell me where I might get written and visual instruction to open and replace that part of the service station?  And does anyone know how much it might cost to have a printer technicion replace the part in the service station?  ball park cost if possible.  If I am unable to replace the part is it worth the cost of having a technician fix it or should I just buy a new printer?  and I just bought new ink! gosh darn it!  Thanks for any assistance.

  • Printing custom sizes on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus from Macbook Pro

I am having trouble setting up a Word Document (Word for Mac 2011) to print in a custom size on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  I'm using a Macbook Pro running Yosemite.
I would like to print on a card stock that is 4.5 in x 13.5 in.  I have tried under Page Setup to create a custom size under Manage Custom sizes, however, I'm hitting a brick wall.  The printer gets the job but can not feed the paper.  I've also tried to set my default paper size under my System Preferences/Printers and Scanners to be this size...still not working.
    Please help!

    Hi @klinecard
It is important to ensure the paper size you are selecting is a supported size, and make sure the weight is supported too.
Printer Specifications for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Series Printer Series
    Please look under paper handling.
If your desired size and weight is supported, you might find the following helpful; Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X
Truthfully, since you are not getting an error message, I suspect you have correctly setup the custom size, this issue is most likely the printers inability to feed the paper you are using.

  • TS3147 Where are all the print settings for my HP Officejet 5510 in Mac OS X 10.8.2?  I can't find Normal, just Draft and Best.

Where are all the print settings for my HP Officejet 5510 in Mac OS X 10.8.2??  I only have Fast, Fast B & W, and Best.  I want Normal so that it looks good but doesn't print so slowly.  Help.

    Hi,
Change the print settings manually by clicking the lowest drop-down within the print dialog (e.g. the application name, Copies & Pages within MSOffice.
Select Type/Quality and set the print quality as Normal.
You may seve the settings as a Preset from the Presets drop-down menu.

How do I print a poster of my print job on a hp officejet  j3680/windows7 64- bit?

FredAfrmCgAz, can you set the document you are trying to print to be separate pages? If you can I would set it up to print that way, though this might mean that you have to adjust margins/allow borderless printing.
What program are you trying to print from? What is the file type (.jpg, .png, .pdf, etc)?
    Let me know!

  • Why can't I print 11x17 on my HP Officejet 7612? Windows 8

Hello All, I have been trying for DAYS to print 11x17 on my new HP Officejet 7612 Wide Format Printer and to NO avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled driver after driver and nothing has worked. I have seen on other posts that others with Windows 8 are experiencing the same issue.                               When on the print screen, 8.5x13 is the largest it will allow me to print. Others have had the same issue. (See Link Below)

Could someone PLEASE tell me why Windows 8 OS is so horrible. Just kidding, I just need to know how to get this driver to give me the option to print 11x17 on my WIDE FORMAT printer. Otherwise, this HP Officejet 7612 is going back to the store. Thanks in Advance,JessTandi

Hello JessTandi, Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print on 11x17 paper. What is the software or printing program you are using when attempting to print on this size?  Please make sure the size is set in the software and on the printing preferences. We can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor just in case there is an issue with the software. Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.   Cheers,

  • Officejet K60 - can I use JUST as a fax?

I recently got an Officejet K60 that I only want to use as a fax machine. Do I have to hook it up to my computer, or will it perform only as a fax machine? I can't find this in the manual and don't want to spend money on ink if it's not going to work the way I want it to. Thank you!

    Hi there nmd,
The k60 should function just fine as a standalone fax machine. Let us know if you have any problems.
