Printing to paper larger than A3

I am using Mac OS X Yosemite and latest version of Aperture printing to a 13 inch wide roll fo canvas on a Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer.
I set the paper size to 27 inches by 13 inches in Aperture and the image size to 11.75 x 25.75 inches in Aperture.
I have it set to automatically rotate image but not to crop image.
I click print and then get a second print dialogue box from Mac OS X which lists different paper handling.  I do not want color correction so I use plain paper setting.  I am unable to select the desired paper size nor create a larger paper size in the Mac OS dialogue box.
Suggested paper size: A4 is greyed out unless I select check box to scale to fit.
If I leave box unchecked then my prints are about 8 inches wide, if I select it and choose A3+) my images are cropped at beginning and end of print.
Is there a way to add a 27 inch x 13 inch paper size to the mac os X print dialogue which seems like it would solve my problem?
Otherwise has anyone had a similar issue and learned solution.

I'm having same issues trying to print to custom sizes in Preview.
Possible work-around (not a solution, but might allow you to print and meet a deadline): I found I could set my Custom paper size as the Default in the Print & Scan Preference Pane.
Now, my print job still had issues, but it may work for your Aperture job. Of course, the PIA is that you have to remember to go back into Preferences and reset Default Paper Size...
Hope Apple is aware of - and working on - printing issues...

It depends upon the capabilities of your printer. If you have an HP printer with a photo tray then the Photo app will print to whatever size you load in to that tray.
    There's some more information here:
Using AirPrint to Print Various Photo Sizes
With other printers the user is given a choice from the printer's loaded paper sizes. You can see an example of that here:

  • On my photosmart 7520 I can not print any picture larger than 4x6. what can I do

On my photosmart 7520, which is brand new, I can not print any pictire larger than 4x6. When I place a 5x7 or 8x10 on bottom tray does not pick it up, it picks up from the top tray and it displays wrong paper size. What can I do?

    Hi,
I recommend that you open your print preferences and select the paper source as the main tray and set the paper size to whatever size it is you want to print. I don'y have a Vista example but I have included a screen shot from Windows 7 of the options window you're after.

  • MS Project - Printing to dimensions larger than max print driver settings

I have a large (2000+) task Gantt chart but no wide-format printer.
I've tried printing to PDF - the tasks, durations, start, finish & resources columns show but the bars don't and the data replicates 4x so I end up having to mess with the file, deleting the extraneous pages, before I send it out for review, anyway.
I tried downloading a wide-format printer driver simply so I could select that printer as my 'default' and set the printer to 'print' to 24x36 while I work with the document, but can't install it because I don't actually have a wide-format printer on my
    network.
    Two questions:
First:  How do I get the bars to show in a PDF print?
Second:  How do I set the print area larger than my max paper size of 17x11?
    Thanks.

Thank you very much for your response, Guillaume.
The issue is that I only have standard sized printers available to me.  The drivers of these control and restrict the 'print' size of the PDF file.  I had already selected the columns, etc., but could not get the right-hand part of the document
to appear no matter what settings I changed.  I tried manipulating the columns printed, the page size, etc. but nothing worked.
Additionally, no matter what else I did (and I suspect it had to do with the program attempting to print the Gantt bars) I ended up with multiple prints of the document within my finished PDF.  Meaning I had to use the Professional version of Adobe
to go back and delete the 50+ pages I didn't need before I could distribute what was useful to everyone else on the team.
I did manage to solve this issue by downloading a wide-format printer driver (even though we don't have a wide-format printer on the network, which was a feat in and of itself!).  Now I can choose the non-existent printer as my default when I'm working
in / on this document and can print to PDF on a virtual 36" page - showing everything (in little tiny mouse print).  That will be my next challenge - but I'm more than halfway there!
    Best~

  • B9180 Printing w/ paper longer than 19"

Is there a way to print on paper up to 44 inches long?  I thought I read somewhere that this printer could accept paper up to 13 x 44 using the specialty media tray.  I have a panorama that is 42 x 12 just waiting to come to life.

Hi J.  - yeah, this would be cool to know, however, I have trouble simply printing with 13x19. I always get, "paper too small, insert correct size" blah blah. So, I take the paper out of the media tray and put it in the specialty media tray and it sometimes works. - Then if I print 8x10 image to 8x11.5 paper, have everything set up properly, I get the error, paper too small, insert correct size. Then I have to put it either in one tray or the other and keep fingers crossed. I hope it works for you J.  I would love to hear how it worked out! peace

  • MG5420 is trying to print to paper rather than disc tray J

I just changed my hard drive on my computer, and I'm now unable to print to a DVD.  Each time I try (and I've made certain that Disc Tray J is selected as paper size), the printer gives me an error message telling me the paper tray is empty.  Multiple restarts have not helped, nor has reinstalling the driver.  It is connected via USB.

  • Can't print a PDF larger than 54x54 inches without errors...

I'm trying to help someone print a PDF to 92x92 inches. Each time either of us tries, we get an error that says 'The document could not be printed.' Then a second error message pops up: 'There were no pages selected to print.'
I ran a number of test scenarios and was able to print up to 54x54 successfully. When I tried 55x55, it errored out. Strangely, when I tried 55x40 it worked fine. So it might be a matter of a limit to the number of square inches? But I heard that Acrobat X Pro should be able to print things with millions of inches of dimension.
    Any ideas out there?

For anybody else following this, I figured out a work-around. It does require InDesign, however...(messy, but it works).
Create an InDesign document with the dimensions that you want. In my case: 92x92 inches.
Place the original PDF image (that is still at reduced size) onto the page of the InDesign document, and scale it up to fit the page. To ensure exact scaling, just SINGLE CLICK AND RELEASE the mouse when placing the PDF so it comes in at original size. Then with the black selection arrow activated from the toolbar, change the scaling in the properties bar at the top to scale it appropriately.
Move the resized image onto the page to fit, then select FILE > EXPORT and select Adobe PDF or Adobe PDF (Print) and export it.
This workflow is optimized for architecture where we need our scale to remain predictable and consistent.

  • CR VS2005 ActiveX Printing Mode print the report larger

    Hi,
I have a problem with CR VS2005 for ActiveX printing mode. It will print the report larger than usual so when I print it to the printer, some parts will cut off. But the report will print okay if I export it to pdf and print from the acrobat reader.
Can anybody help me how to fix this?
I'm using this in my development:
    OS: WIndows XP SP2
    Visual Studio 2005
    CR for VS2005
and the application is web application.
    Thanks before...

    1) Try this with SP 1 for CR 10.2 applied:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006007872008E/crvs05sp1.exe
    2) see if there are any updates for your printer driver
    3) See if you can duplicate this with a different printer driver
    4) I believe CR 10.2 had "No printer" option (Design | Page Setup). Enable that.

  • Exporting from InDesign to PDF, and the updated PDF is larger than a month ago and not printing easily on letter paper, it is PDF presets?

    Hello,
I am exporting from InDesign to a PDF and the page is larger in the PDF then others I have exported. Is this because of the PDF presents? One of the project managers is not able to print it out on 8.5 x 11 paper, but the document presets for InDesign are the same as before. I wish I could upload the PDFs to show, but the newly exported PDF is larger than the version I created a month ago. I created a PDF binder and the newly updated PDF is almost a .5 inch wider with the same export presets. Any thoughts?

I suspect the project manager simply has his/her copy of Reader/Acrobat set to print at actual size, rather than "Fit" (assuming the InDesign page size is truly 8.5 x 11).
..the newly updated PDF is almost a .5 inch wider with the same export presets.
It would have nothing to do with export presets. How are you determining that half-inch difference?

  • Printing a component that is larger than the paper size

    Hi,
I am trying to print a component that may be larger than the size of the paper being used. Is there some way to get it to split between pages - ie, if it's larger than the page, it is printed over two or more pages?
The component in question is a JTextArea. Would it be better to get the text from it and use the graphics drawString rather than the component's paint method?
The relevant part of the code is below.
    Thanks,

  • Why does my artwork print slightly larger than actual size? - MacOS 10.9.2

I have an issue which I have no answer.  Every time I print an artwork for product mockup, say a 3x5 card, it prints slightly larger than a 3x5 card.  I have to manually scale my artwork down to 98.5 in the print dialog to get as close as possible to the actual size.  Its not related to a specific printer.  I have an HP printer and a Canon printer and the issue exists exactly the same between the two.  I'm running Illustrator 17.1 on an iMac running MacOS 10.9.2.  Can you please help make this easier for me?

    Wayne,
Are you using PostScript printer drivers (or at least PostScript emulation)? Non PostScript drivers may behave a bit like gremlins.
What happens if you Save As or Print to PDF and then print from that using the actual size/no adaptation to paper size?

  • How can I print alphabet letters that are larger than 1 page?

I need to print letters that are larger than 1 sheet of paper. How do I print across multiple pages?

    is another application.
You should see it on the Dock, in Mission Control or be able to open it by typing Preview in Spotlight.
It usually is the application that opens when you click on any image file or pdf.
Just follow my instructions, copy and paste or drag and drop from Finder.
You don't open the pdf, opening is for .pages, .doc, rtf or txt files that Pages can open as word processing files.
    You can alternatively:
Menu > Insert > Choose… > browse to your pdf
But the other methods are faster and easier.

  • Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

    Hi,
I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....
    Thank you .....

    Hi Anil,
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
width and page height of the report.
But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:
