Printing to PDF adding "tint" to page

Every time I print to PDF, an overall tint is added to the whole document. It does this when I print to PDF in Photoshop, Publisher, Word... pretty much any application. This started just a little while ago so I wonder if it is part of a recent update. I am using Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 8. By the way, when I print directly to my Epson or HP printer, all looks good. When I create a JPG or PNG from Photoshop, all looks good.I've tried many different print options (CMYK & RGB) and none help. This is getting frustrating as it makes it difficult to send my clients proofs. Please help.
Thanks, Liz

I am trying to print from Safari. The problem happens without respect to the zoom level, as I have tried many times with several different web pages, from fully zoomed in to fully zoomed out. It also happens without respect to whether I use the print option (and then specify to print to pdf) or use File>Export to pdf...
Irritating, as the "save as... "option is not foolproof either.
Any thoughts?

  • Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed

We are planning to Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed. I have tried using the AIR appliaction and it worked, But our requirement is NO INSTALL to the user machine for the silent printing. It is just from web page and silent printing to the default printer to the desktop/Laptop. Can anyone share your thoughts and experience with us. It will be very helpful..
For AIR : I tried the thread Re: AIR and PDF showing/silent printing

    Hey CodeMonkey & Ross,
Did you either of you ever find a solution? I'm stuck too, it seems I can get remote printing on all these PDFs to work but it just prints a blank page since I've been using Javascript in the browser, not Adobe's (they are Engineering drawings that I do not have permission to edit so I can't just insert code into them but I need to make work instructions). I've been scouring the internet for hours now, it seems that this thread is the only relevant/useful one at this point. No one else was trying to achieve this for similar reasons to mine.
    Thanks guys,

  • When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages I get multiple duplicate pages.

When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages the print order goes in the following sequence.
Page 1, Page 1-2, Page 1-2-3, Page 1-2-3-4, Page 1-2-3-4-5 .... and continues in that fassion until the printer is out of paper.
When a smaller document prints it comes out fine like page 1-9 in sequesnce as it should.  I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 fully patched and Adobe Reader X 10.1.3.  This is very strange as there is only one machine in the office that is doing it and I have tried instalingin and reinstalling the printers and the Adobe readr in order to fix this and there isn't really anything that I can find that might be causing the issue.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use Pages. There's a Pages Support Community where everybody uses Pages. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iwork/pages

  • How can I get Print to PDF to accept oversized page sizes?

To level set, my platform is Mac OSX 10.6,  Snow Leopard.
I sometimes create banners and such that are designed to be plotted/printed on large format printers.  For example, a banner might print to a page that is 12" x 72".
Now, I don't actually own such a printer, the FedEx Kinko's down the street does, hence I don't have a driver installed for it.
I really don't know the "best" tool for creating these drawings. I have tried MS PowerPoint (which can't seem to accept paper wider than 56 inches) and have  used NeoOffice Draw, which  seems to work ok until it comes to printing time.
When I try to print to PDF, which is what the folks at Kinko's want, the printer systems always asks if I want to rescale the print to fit my 8-1/2 X 11 home printer(s).  No, just print it "as-is" is NOT a choice and neither is "Any Printer".   I end up having to crawl through setting up odd sized paper under "Any Printer" and somehow, I still don't really understand how, the print to PDF now saves the file sized to print as drawn.
So, I can see a few possible approaches to making this easier.
Install the print driver for the printer at Kinko's.  Only, I don't think the installation process will allow that unless the printer is connected.
Develop a dongle that fools the Mac into thinking the printer is attached.  Cute idea that could make money if I sold them, but hardly reasonable.
Develop a dummy (virtual?) print driver that can be added without a physical printer having to be present and which opens a window when you "print" to it that allows you to specify the page size and other information with which it will "lie" to the OS and say, "Yes,  I am a printer capable of doing this....".  (FYI, I am a programmer going on 30 years now.)
So, before I teach myself Objective-C and how to use Xcode, is there a better or known solution?  Is there an existing product I can use?  Is there a driver development kit for virtual printers?  Any chance I could get a C++ kit and not have to learn Objective-C?
    Thanks!

Incorrect. Win or Mac, you can install a printer driver w/o the printer being connected.

You're using the wrong tools. PP shouldn't even be in consideration; I don't know about NeoOffice, but I tried its cousin LibreOffice, and it has issues with custom paper sizes; which is not surprising, given what these apps were designed for.
What you need for actual banners (not web page banners) is a vector drawing tool or a DTP app. I'd say Illustrator or InDesign, but Adobe CS is expensive, and, if you're thinking of PowerPoint for this job, you're not ready for it.
You can try Pages; although not quite DTP, it can do the job and it's inexpensive. There are other options, such as Swift Publisher (a DTP app) or Intaglio (a drawing app) -- both are more expensive than Pages, but still affordable; or you can go open source with Scribus (DTP) or InkScape (vector; requires X11). You already know the ups and downs of using open source. (These are just examples; you can find others if you look for them.)
Although it's better to have Kinko's printer driver, to make sure of the correct options, you don't actually need it to print to PDF. You should be able to define a custom page size (eg, 12in × 72in) and create the PDF from it. Any app which uses the Mac OS X standard print function should be able to do it.

  • When I print a pdf file, the first page is dramatically  reduced in size while remainder pages print correct size. How do I fix this pro blem?

recently, when printing pdf files, the first page prints out as 1/10 or 1/20th original size while rest of document prints correctly.
I have no idea how this happened or why and I have no idea how to fix. I cannot get the first page of any pdf doocument to
print correctly and thus, I am virtually unable to print pdf files.

Sometimes if a .pdf is smaller than actual 8 1/2 x 11 or bigger, you'll either get way too much of the image and it's cut off, or the image is too small. You should also try to do this in the print driver window: Properties -> Advanced -> Image Options -> Disable "PostScript pass-through"

  • How can i print a PDF to fit to page ?

Maybe this is due to some setting i am overlooking..
I have some PDF pages which i want to print on A4 sheets. However, the pages which come out are zoomed in copies , displaying about 60% of the page and cutting out the rest.
I want to fit the page to A4 size paper while printing.. Where do i have to make this setting ?
    Thanks

That depends on the program, but if it's Preview, go to Page Setup... under the File menu. Select the appropriate paper size there. Then go to File > Print... and do a Preview. If the content does not fit on the page, some printer drivers will have a Scale to Fit setting. If there is none, go back to Page Setup... and manually adjust the Scale until it fits nicely when you do a Preview.

  • Printing from PDF, original made in pages

I am finding that when I create some documents in Pages and turned them into PDF, the images show in acrobat but do not print on our laser printers.
    Has anyone seen this?

  • Printing a PDF at a larger page size

Proabably an easy fix but I hit a wall,  my document is 13"x19" and I want to print it out full frame on our 4880 but it keeps defaulting to 8.5x11", how can I change the page size (or where) so it prints the full 13"x19"s?
    Thanks

I have a similar problem, question related to this thread. Even though I have set up Adobe Acrobat 8 to print to my Epson 1400 at Super-B size (even using custom size of 13x19") in page set-up, it seems to be printing my page like it's a 'cropped 8.5x11" page. No matter what I have tried, I can't get this to print full-page. It was working last week (or a few weeks agoand it's possible that the last OS patches screwed this up somehow maybe. I can't recall when I printed and when the other installs were done. It will print fine from Photoshop, full page (as I did that last week).
I am using a Mac, OS 10.5 latest version, and I have uninstalled, and resinstalled the epson print drivers, removed and added the printer from the OS, trashed Adobe Acrobat's prefs, restarted my computer and acrobat... and I'm at the end of my rope not being able to think of anything else to try. Any help or suggestions on this one? I'm stumped and need to print these pages out properly! I have to print them from Acrobat to get consistent color on what I'm printing so I can't print from in Design...

  • How can I print a booklet where each pdf page is vertically placed on each half page instead of one pdf on each booklet page?

I've printed a booklet before but each pdf page had two powerpoint slides on each pdf file.  This binder has one powerpoint slide on each pdf page and if I try to print it as a binder, each pdf page takes up the whole half-page on the booklet.  I want to print two pdf slides on each page of the booklet so when I open the booklet, there are four powerpoint slides printed.  So I basically want to combine the ability to print multiple slides per page but in a booklet form.

Why not reconstruct the pages in InDesign they way you want the double pages to appear. There may even be an imposition script available that will do the trick. You could then output to pdf all the pages you want the full spread on. Leave the original to create the pages you wanted left as is.
You can ask in the ID forum about an imposition script. I know there was one with CS4, there may have been one with CS3.

  • RE-printing a PDF book With Acrobat 9

I have this strange problem. When I print a pdf book as a pdf again (reason I am doing this if because it will give me a page size that will go with the entire book, and as a result, it will be easier to crop the book.), the file size becomes WAY bigger than the original size of the PDF.
This is the basic process when I do the the printing to pdf:
Select ALL the pages in the book.
    Go To Print.
Under the Name List, select Adobe PDF.
    Click Properties.
On the Layout tab, Click Advanced. Under Paper Size, Select Postscript Custom Paper Size.
    Select the Unit (e.g. Millimeter).
Once done, go to the ADOBE PDF Setting tab, and then select Default Setting to Standard.
click all the OKs, until you are ready to print.
I have tried to to look for the answer on other forums, and googling, but no proper explanation or advice.
    Thanks

Tried that. That doesnt solve the problem. File is still as big as
hell. Acrobat 8 works like a charm for this process. I even made
screenshot for the 'small size' preset and compared it to Acrobat 9.
Seems the same, so not sure why does it make files bigger. Dont get
started with file optimization because this book im dealing with here
has bad images to any downsizing is going to mess it up. Booya:-@

  • Cannot Save or Print Embedded PDFs From IE9

I have a machine that is having difficulty saving or printing embedded PDF’s from web pages. Embedded meaning that the PDF is displayed in a reader window, within a web page. I am able to view the PDF without any problem however if I try and click the Save button, nothing happens. If I try to print the PDF, the browser crashes.
This is a Windows 7 32-bit machine with IE 9 installed. I am also using Acrobat Pro 10.1.2. I have tried repairing Acrobat without any success, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling without any success. I am able to open PDF documents stored locally as files without any problem, and I am also able to open PDF documents from other websites that are simply links without any problem. I have tried disabling the Display PDF is Browser setting, but that only produces a red X in the placeholder for the embedded PDF. I get the same results if I log into this computer as another user. I have other computers with identical software installed that are working just fine without a problem.
Anyone else having problems saving embedded PDF documents from websites? I am stumped as to why this happens or how to fix it.

I am having a similar issue only with ADP pay statements that are embedded.  I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, installed Adobe XI, installed an older version.  When we click print first the reader crashes and then IE9 crashes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Print To PDF problem

    hi,
i have used the Print to > PDF option of iWeb to create documents that users can print (because of this iWeb printing pb ...).
but now, the problem is that those PDF files generated by iWeb have line cut in the middle.
you can see it @ www.voisinconsulting.com/websitev2/services.html for example. click on the 'print this page' link to see the PDF document ... you'll see there is a pb at the bottom of every page. and this happens on every of the PDF pages i have created with iWeb.
    anyone can help me ???
    thanks in advance.
    tom.

    tom:
I see what you mean. But when I do a Print to PDF from the web page via my browser I get a 3 page PDF file with breaks properly oriented. You might create a good pdf file and link it for download instead of relying on the services to create the page.
    Do you Twango?
