Printing to PDF Driver. First 9000 pages fine, next 2000 are blank.

Windows 7.1 and Adobe PDF driver 10.1.9
Printing large (11,000+) page spooled files. This USED to work on Windows 7.1 and now does not.
Once the file gets to 9980 pages, the rest of the pages are blank.  I am printing plain text, no images.
I do not see any processing options like RAW or EMF to try...
Any suggestions?

Welcome to Apple Discussions Nick
In all of the troubleshooting you've done I don't see that you have deleted the AppleWorks preferences. Printing issues is one of many things this can help. See my user tip, AppleWorks has stopped working correctly, for more. Be sure you delete the .plist and preference files at the same time.
If this doesn't help, or you're still not able to print the whole document, try saving the file as an AppleWorks 5 file with a different name & then open this AppleWorks 5 file in AppleWorks 6. You do not need o have AppleWorks 5 to do this. This can strip some imbedded information, particularly related to printing, from the file.
On this same line, open a new AppleWorks document of the same type & drag the icon of the problem file onto the open window of the new one.
Last, a lot more time consuming, but should get the job done, is to print to PDF in small sections. In the Print dialog, make sure you set the print range to the actually page numbers if you have a header or footer holding the page number. You can then use a program like the free PDFLab to join all of the PDFs into one.

  • When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages I get multiple duplicate pages.

When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages the print order goes in the following sequence.
Page 1, Page 1-2, Page 1-2-3, Page 1-2-3-4, Page 1-2-3-4-5 .... and continues in that fassion until the printer is out of paper.
When a smaller document prints it comes out fine like page 1-9 in sequesnce as it should.  I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 fully patched and Adobe Reader X 10.1.3.  This is very strange as there is only one machine in the office that is doing it and I have tried instalingin and reinstalling the printers and the Adobe readr in order to fix this and there isn't really anything that I can find that might be causing the issue.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use Pages. There's a Pages Support Community where everybody uses Pages. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iwork/pages

  • Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed

We are planning to Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed. I have tried using the AIR appliaction and it worked, But our requirement is NO INSTALL to the user machine for the silent printing. It is just from web page and silent printing to the default printer to the desktop/Laptop. Can anyone share your thoughts and experience with us. It will be very helpful..
For AIR : I tried the thread Re: AIR and PDF showing/silent printing

    Hey CodeMonkey & Ross,
Did you either of you ever find a solution? I'm stuck too, it seems I can get remote printing on all these PDFs to work but it just prints a blank page since I've been using Javascript in the browser, not Adobe's (they are Engineering drawings that I do not have permission to edit so I can't just insert code into them but I need to make work instructions). I've been scouring the internet for hours now, it seems that this thread is the only relevant/useful one at this point. No one else was trying to achieve this for similar reasons to mine.
    Thanks guys,

  • Printing to pdf gives improper formatting (page is cut off on one side)

Safari 7.0.5 on Mavericks 10.9.4: printing to pdf gives improper formatting (page is cut off on one side). Any suggestions?

I am trying to print from Safari. The problem happens without respect to the zoom level, as I have tried many times with several different web pages, from fully zoomed in to fully zoomed out. It also happens without respect to whether I use the print option (and then specify to print to pdf) or use File>Export to pdf...
Irritating, as the "save as... "option is not foolproof either.
    Any thoughts?

  • How can I get Print to PDF to accept oversized page sizes?

To level set, my platform is Mac OSX 10.6,  Snow Leopard.
I sometimes create banners and such that are designed to be plotted/printed on large format printers.  For example, a banner might print to a page that is 12" x 72".
Now, I don't actually own such a printer, the FedEx Kinko's down the street does, hence I don't have a driver installed for it.
I really don't know the "best" tool for creating these drawings. I have tried MS PowerPoint (which can't seem to accept paper wider than 56 inches) and have  used NeoOffice Draw, which  seems to work ok until it comes to printing time.
When I try to print to PDF, which is what the folks at Kinko's want, the printer systems always asks if I want to rescale the print to fit my 8-1/2 X 11 home printer(s).  No, just print it "as-is" is NOT a choice and neither is "Any Printer".   I end up having to crawl through setting up odd sized paper under "Any Printer" and somehow, I still don't really understand how, the print to PDF now saves the file sized to print as drawn.
So, I can see a few possible approaches to making this easier.
Install the print driver for the printer at Kinko's.  Only, I don't think the installation process will allow that unless the printer is connected.
Develop a dongle that fools the Mac into thinking the printer is attached.  Cute idea that could make money if I sold them, but hardly reasonable.
Develop a dummy (virtual?) print driver that can be added without a physical printer having to be present and which opens a window when you "print" to it that allows you to specify the page size and other information with which it will "lie" to the OS and say, "Yes,  I am a printer capable of doing this....".  (FYI, I am a programmer going on 30 years now.)
So, before I teach myself Objective-C and how to use Xcode, is there a better or known solution?  Is there an existing product I can use?  Is there a driver development kit for virtual printers?  Any chance I could get a C++ kit and not have to learn Objective-C?
    Thanks!

Incorrect. Win or Mac, you can install a printer driver w/o the printer being connected.

You're using the wrong tools. PP shouldn't even be in consideration; I don't know about NeoOffice, but I tried its cousin LibreOffice, and it has issues with custom paper sizes; which is not surprising, given what these apps were designed for.
What you need for actual banners (not web page banners) is a vector drawing tool or a DTP app. I'd say Illustrator or InDesign, but Adobe CS is expensive, and, if you're thinking of PowerPoint for this job, you're not ready for it.
You can try Pages; although not quite DTP, it can do the job and it's inexpensive. There are other options, such as Swift Publisher (a DTP app) or Intaglio (a drawing app) -- both are more expensive than Pages, but still affordable; or you can go open source with Scribus (DTP) or InkScape (vector; requires X11). You already know the ups and downs of using open source. (These are just examples; you can find others if you look for them.)
Although it's better to have Kinko's printer driver, to make sure of the correct options, you don't actually need it to print to PDF. You should be able to define a custom page size (eg, 12in × 72in) and create the PDF from it. Any app which uses the Mac OS X standard print function should be able to do it.

  • How can i print a PDF to fit to page ?

Maybe this is due to some setting i am overlooking..
I have some PDF pages which i want to print on A4 sheets. However, the pages which come out are zoomed in copies , displaying about 60% of the page and cutting out the rest.
I want to fit the page to A4 size paper while printing.. Where do i have to make this setting ?
    Thanks

That depends on the program, but if it's Preview, go to Page Setup... under the File menu. Select the appropriate paper size there. Then go to File > Print... and do a Preview. If the content does not fit on the page, some printer drivers will have a Scale to Fit setting. If there is none, go back to Page Setup... and manually adjust the Scale until it fits nicely when you do a Preview.

  • Printing to PDF adding "tint" to page

Every time I print to PDF, an overall tint is added to the whole document. It does this when I print to PDF in Photoshop, Publisher, Word... pretty much any application. This started just a little while ago so I wonder if it is part of a recent update. I am using Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 8. By the way, when I print directly to my Epson or HP printer, all looks good. When I create a JPG or PNG from Photoshop, all looks good.I've tried many different print options (CMYK & RGB) and none help. This is getting frustrating as it makes it difficult to send my clients proofs. Please help.

  • Cannot Print to PDF - Driver issues (?)

    Hello,
I can't print to PDF from InDesign or for that matter any of my other non-Adobe programs.
All the file does in print in error in my PDF printer dialog box and nothing happens.
Just to clarify, exporting as an interactive PDF is not the solution I'm looking for.
I'm running Windows 7 with Acrobat Pro 8 Installed and Acrobat Reader X installed.
When I try to right click the pdf print and go to 'Adobe PDF Printing Preferences' and
set the Adobe PDF folder/output to anything that would prompt me for the file name, I can only select a port by the name of LPT1 and nothing else.
Also, odd but maybe related, I can't even set the PDF security.
    Help would be delightful

The 64 bit system may be an issue. I do not remember any responses related to success with AA8 and Win 7, 64. In any case, you need to be at no less than AA 8.1. That was required on 64 bit versions of XP. I would open AA8 and start the update process. If you are offered more than 1 update, do them in order. I don't usually update this way and so am not that familiar with the screen that is offered. You may have to download the updates, in which case you have to download all appropriate updates and install them in order. They are not cummulative. If you download them, you should probably store the updates some place in case you need them again in the future. You also should only have to restart after the last update, though many of them will suggest a restart. AA 8 is at something like 8.3.2.
The updates may solve the problem. Please report back on your success with the 64 bit version of Win7. That helps us help others.

  • How to print the Actual Check on 1st Page if line items are more for F110_p

    Hi,
How to print the Actual Check on 1st page if the line items are more in F110_PRENUM_CHCK script. The standard script is printing at the last page of line items.
    I tried using
    IF &PAGE& EQ '1 '
    /E 545 --> text element
    ENDIF
but it is of no use.
Please let me know if anyone knows. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Krishna,
I guess, there is no other possible way to acheive this without modifying the standard driver program. Why because? in you driver program you check window will be called only on the last page... but before you change your driver program give a try like shown below....
Not sure, but give a try... In the first page you will be printing some void check try to replace the code inside the text element of void check with original check and make all the check void... note: in this text element, be sure you write two conditions...
    IF &PAGE& = 1.
    **PRint all check values..
    ELSE.
    ***Print void values
    ENDIF.
Close the thread if your question is answered.

  • OBIEE 11g PDF "extending" to 9 pages, Pivot view extending with blank pages

    Hi,
I have an issue when printing to PDF. The last report in the dashboard, especially the pivot view is not getting contained in the dashboard. It is running
    to 9 pages.
I tried increasing the file size
    (referred from the below link)

    This also did not work.
When I try printing it to HTML, its perfect. Problem is only with printing to PDF format.

    Hi Malli,
Have you restarted the BI Services after the changes?

  • Printing from PDF, original made in pages

I am finding that when I create some documents in Pages and turned them into PDF, the images show in acrobat but do not print on our laser printers.
    Has anyone seen this?

In acrobat, click 'advanced' in the print window, then click 'print as image'. This sometimes works.

  • Printing a PDF at a larger page size

Proabably an easy fix but I hit a wall,  my document is 13"x19" and I want to print it out full frame on our 4880 but it keeps defaulting to 8.5x11", how can I change the page size (or where) so it prints the full 13"x19"s?
    Thanks

I have a similar problem, question related to this thread. Even though I have set up Adobe Acrobat 8 to print to my Epson 1400 at Super-B size (even using custom size of 13x19") in page set-up, it seems to be printing my page like it's a 'cropped 8.5x11" page. No matter what I have tried, I can't get this to print full-page. It was working last week (or a few weeks agoand it's possible that the last OS patches screwed this up somehow maybe. I can't recall when I printed and when the other installs were done. It will print fine from Photoshop, full page (as I did that last week).
I am using a Mac, OS 10.5 latest version, and I have uninstalled, and resinstalled the epson print drivers, removed and added the printer from the OS, trashed Adobe Acrobat's prefs, restarted my computer and acrobat... and I'm at the end of my rope not being able to think of anything else to try. Any help or suggestions on this one? I'm stumped and need to print these pages out properly! I have to print them from Acrobat to get consistent color on what I'm printing so I can't print from in Design...
    HELP!

  • How can you print something from icloud? I'd like to print a copy of my schedule for someone from the calendar, but print is disabled. Going around that, the pages in the preview are blank.

So far I am only seeing the possibility of being able to print my schedule from my computer at home in iCal.
It doesn't seem possible to save it as a PDF since the pages appear blank on the print preview. Is this just the broswer I am using, or is printing really not possible? I could share it to "anyone" (since this person doesn't have iCloud), but to be honest I don't feel very comfortable with having something like that "open" on the web. Even though it's only through that specific link, it still would exist out there for someone to potentially stumble onto it.
Any ideas, or is it just not possible to do this?

A bit of a pain, but you'll need to take a screenshot and print that, Skitch makes taking such screenshots much easier if you are interested.

  • I can' print anything from firefox (emails, web pages, etc.) I get blank pages from my printer.

Whenever I go to the print option in the file menu, my pages do not print. Blank pages come out of the printer. I have checked all of the setup that I know. This is not a problem if I go to Google Chrome or other browser. Only a problem with firefox. Even on the print preview it shows up blank. Any suggestions?

Sorry, Firefox doesn't use the Windows "default printer" as the default printer, but rather it uses the last used printer as the "default". That doesn't always happen when the printer involved goes into stand-by and is "offline", from what I have seen on my small LAN.
Just one of the hundreds of print related Bugs or nuisances in Firefox that I doubt will ever be fixed, until they write all new code for printing
