Printing to PDF Help

Hi,
I currently have a process that retreives images from a server one by one and then prints them out. This is ok when printing to paper as it'll just print them seperately but it doesn't matter because they'll all be in one pile at the end - only one prompt to print is needed.
My problem is that when I try and print these to a PDF it creates a PDF for each image. I need it so that all the images are put into one PDF file.
Please can someone help me.
Cheers,
Steven

Sorry, to clarify my main problem is that when printing these images there could be upto 1000 and it requires that I name each individual file.
The first fix would be so these files could be named automatically and incrementally, however the overall solution would be to print straight into one PDF file.
Cheers,
Steve

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document. Can anyone help?

    Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document, instead I open it with Adobe Reader X to be able to print.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Edna,
    It sounds like Adobe Reader X is your default PDF file handler. Launch Adobe Reader X.  Choose Edit > Preferences > General.  Click the 'Select Default PDF Handler' button at the bottom and choose Acrobat 9 from the drop-down menu.  Click Apply, then OK.
    Restart your computer.  Acrobat 9 should now be your default PDF file handler again.

  • I am missing the 'print to pdf' option on my entire adobe creative suite 'HELP!'

    I really need some help.  After installing a new printer to my computer I noticed that my adobe programs would not longer allow me to Print to PDF.  I originally thought it was a problem with my mac, but after doing tech support with them, we discovered that it is actually a problem within my adobe programs. After talking with mac, I decided to try uninstalling my new printer and rebooting my computer - this made no difference.  Then I made sure all my adobe updates were current.  ALL UPDATED.  I also tried downloading a trial of the new acrobat 11, still nothing.  Finally I uninstalled my entire suite and reinstalled it.  Throughout this whole ordeal I rebooted my computer after every step.  NOTHING.
    Please help, I really don't know what else to try and I haven't been able to find an answer within the forums.
    Just to make sure that I am clear.  I am trying to resize a huge amount of PDF's created from illustrator files and would like to do  this by printing to pdfs.  When you try to print now, there are no options because there are no printer drivers at all.
    Argh!
    hope someone has an idea, I'm working on a project with a deadline and really require a solution.
    Thanks

    Hi, thanks for answering. No, I haven't updated the OS recently.  However, doesn't the Adobe suite utilize it's own print to pdf driver?  This is what I was told by Mac.  Safari, Textedit, etc, all can print to pdf, so can't be a Mac issue.

    When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Happens from Chrome, IE, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). A very nice script that adds a custom menu item can be found here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Help, can't choose "print to pdf" after installing 9.4

    Have had previous free versions of Adobe and was always able to select "print to pdf" instead of a printer.  Now that option is gone.  According to some sites, i need to select AdobePDF.inf from my Adobe>Acrobat 9.0> Acrobat> Xtras folder, but under my Adobe folder, I only have Reader 9.0 folder.  Can someone help?

    Adobe Reader has never come with the ability to print/export/save to PDF so it's hard to say what is going on. In fact, Adobe has never had a free PDF creator that I'm aware of (if they did, it was a long long time ago). Did you used to have Adobe Acrobat and have replaced it with the free Reader?

  • I can't print to PDF from AutoCAD and can't find a phone number to call ADOBE for support. Very frustrated, please help.

    Trying to plot to PDF from AutoCAD. Never usually have issues doing so, a few months ago it stopped working suddenly with  a warning message that said Adobe PDF was not activated. I didn't know what to do so uninstalled and reinstalled it which fixed the problem. Only now it started happening again.... There must be an easier fix?
    Thanks for your help!

    Thank you for writing to me!
    It occurs when I try to print to Adobe PDF from either AutoCAD or Revit (both autodesk products). My Adobe PDF function seems to be working for other applications - for ex. if I save from Illustrator to PDF, Word to PDF, etc. From this description it sounds as if it's more of a problem with my Autodesk products, but the odd thing is that until recently I was able to print to PDF from both of them! This happened to me once before and I uninstalled and reinstalled ADOBE but I thought there must be a better way of dealing with it. Is the number of times you install the ADOBE CS6 limited? I worry that uninstalling/reinstalling it uses up some of my uses - even though it's on the same laptop.
    The error message I get is this:
    Thanks for your help,

  • Printer prints some PDF objects as filled (but shows borders only in preview). Print as image helps, but not for all computers. Acrobat X Pro, OCE printer.

    We create PDF from Autocad using Adobe PDF printer. When printing that PDF file to OCE printer, some drawing objects are printed as filled (but Acrobat shows correctly - border only). If I open the PDF with Internet browser, I can see those objects as filled as well. If I print the PDF as image from some, not all computers - it prints ok, not filled.
    Please help.

    File>Print
    - Look under the Properties and Advanced buttons

  • Help with "Print to PDF" Script...

    Hi All,
    I'm a Web Designer and I would need help creating a Print to PDF Script...
    Here's what I have:
    // Illustrator Export Script
    var difDocuments;
    difDocuments = documents.length;
        for(i=0;i<difDocuments;i++) {
            var aDocument;
            aDocument = documents[i];
            var docName;
            docName = aDocument.name;
            var docPath;
            docPath = aDocument.path;
            var docPathStr = docPath.toString();
                if (docPathStr.length>1) {
                    var documentPath;
                    documentPath = aDocument.path + "/" + aDocument.name;
                else {
                    var documentPath;
                    documentPath = "Z://Users//Fred//Chavi Files//Saved Exported PDF" + "/" + aDocument.name;
            var printOpts;
            printOpts = new PDFSaveOptions();
            printOpts.printPreset = "Print As PDF";
            var fileToSave;
            fileToSave = new File(docPath + "/" + "Saved Flat PDF" + "/" + aDocument.name);
            aDocument.print(fileToSave,printOpts);
    So what I'm attempting to do is to make a Print to PDF script rather then a Save As PDF, since print as PDF takes half the space...
    The settings would either be from a Print Preset or just by regular options...(if someone could make a list of the attributes and the "formatting" it'd be extremely appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Fred.

    I already tried that...my test file was around 60kb with the "Print as PDF" and 104kb using the "Save as PDF" and then Optimizing....
    I'm mostly doing the exporting to PDF on the Windows machine and I tested my script in Windows as well...
    Am I just formatting it wrong?
    It tells me:
    "Error 1242: Illegal argument - argument 1 - Object Expected
    Line: 30
    ->
    aDocument.print(fileToSave,printOpts);"
    and just before that I had a couple of "Constructor" errors...in the "Adobe Illustrator Scripting Guide" it was saying that:
    "The following objects must be created explicitly:
    Illustrator save options
    PDF save options
    PPD file
    PPD file info
    printer
    print flattener options
    print job options
    print options"
    What exactly do they mean? I created the objects like so: "object = new object();"
    It also mentionned a "var object = app.document[0].add();" Those are to create paths and shapes if I'm not mistaken (ActionScript background).
    Hopefully I'll find a way around this...
    P.S: how much slower would an Action be? And could an action be "transformed" into a Script?
    Thanks a lot for your help

  • I have Windows 8.1 and Adobe CS6 - acrobat just stoped working, won't open anything won't print to pdf. HELP!

    Please help me!! I have Windows 8.1 and Adobe CS6 creative Suite. Adobe Acrobat x just quit, It won't open anything and it wont print to PDF. I need this for work!

    Typically, the repair is done from the Control Panel>Programs & Features. In the future, try that route. Glad you found something that worked. When you do come to the forums for help, you may not get an immediate response, but may have to wait for someone familiar with your issue happens to check the forum, possibly after work. In any case, glad you have a working product again.

  • Need fast help printing RGB .pdf to Epson 7880...

    I am forced to print a RGB .pdf from Acrobat.
    And having trouble understanding  how to set the Destination printer/paper/ink profile, here is my best guess but the blue RGB background is considerably lighter than Photoshop Manages Colors and I need to match Photoshop prints.
    Here is my Acrobat CS6 Color Management settings Pro9880_7880 PLPP260 is my Epson profile):
    I don't think I have it because the Epson Advanced Color Settings is giving me CMYK SLIDERS (not "OFF"):
    All filled boxes and text are sRGB, the .pdf is tagged sRGB, Acrobat Object Inspector confirms the RGB profile is embedded.
    I built the original poster in InDesign and Exported PDF (Print).
    Any fast help greatly appreciated (I am on a deadline)...

    Did some more testing.
    Apple's Preview app prints my PDF Source>Print Profile the same as Acrobat 10.1.6.
    But I think I found the point where the problem is occurring in InDesign.
    The screenshot below shows the Photoshop sRGB document (left) with the blue background, 22/56/158.
    The right side shows InDesign blue background (sRGB is Working RGB) with the identical 22/56/158 RGB fill.
    Open the screenshot in Photoshop (use the embedded profile, sRGB), and sample the blue background in each app.
    There is a considerable difference between them that could account for the difference I am complaining about.
    SEEING IS BELIEVING...
    What this tells me is Photoshop is different than InDesign because doesn't display or print my RGB fill the same...
    So I have to wonder which one is actually correct?

    Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.
