My six-year old grandson appears to be able to make purchases on the TV without having to enter the password and yet every other device i use (e.g. iPad, iPhone, iPod) is password protected. How is that possible when I have to use my password to access such services on all other devices?

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it. You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.

How do you download multiple apps without having to enter the password each time
How do you download multiple apps without having to enter the password each time
You don't, this is a security measure which can't be changed, however, if you purchase another App within 15 minutes your password should not be required.

Say i wanna navigate to hotmail.com using inline autocomplete in the urlbar [assuming it is not the first time i am visiting the website]
'''Google Chrome''': I type 'h' in the urlbar and the rest is filled up by the browser and i simply have to press enter to navigate to 'www.hotmail.com'.
'''Firefox '''[assume, 'browser.urlbar.autoFill' is enabled]''':''' I type 'www.ho' and the rest is filled up by the browser and then i press enter to navigate to 'www.hotmail.com'.
Please tell me if it is possible to make the autocomplete feature work like in Google Chrome? If yes, what should i do to avail the auto-complete feature in firefox without having to type the prefix 'www' to navigate to any website. Also let me know if i can avail off this fetautres by installing any of the firefox addons. The link that adrian.dulu posted has changed. It's now: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/prospector-speak-words/
...and it works perfectly. Thanks! -
Hello
can someone please tell me how to modify this code so that I dont have to enter the file path at all? When i give the same file path constants to both the read and write VIs I'm getting an error message.
Attachments:
read and write.vi 11 KBYup use the low level File I/O opening the reference once, and closing it once.
As for the path selection you have an unwired input which is the path to use. Programatically set that and you won't be prompted to select a path. Usually this is done with a path constant to a folder, then using the Build Path, to set the file name in that folder.

I have a customer that is using Adobe Acrobat pro version 10.1. When they try and open a .pdf file from a SharePoint site, the user is prompted to check out and open the file or open the file. Is there a way to get Adobe Acrobat to open the .pdf file without prompting to check out or open?
Thanks
JimThis is mostly a lion thing, rather than a PSE thing. To disable applications opening where they left off last time for all the programs on your computer, go to system preferences>general and untick this box:
You can also do on a per-program basis, but it's more complicated and the best thing to do is to search around for directions on the web and see which way is least uncomfortable for you.
There's an odd little glitch in PSE that it opens the last image you had open, even if you closed it before quitting last time. Adobe says this is correct behavior, but of course it isn't. -
Isn't there a way to not have to enter the pass code every single time you turn the phone on ??
FWIW, I'd love to turn off passcodes *permanently* on my five iOS devices running iOS 8.1.
Is this possible anymore?
So far, iOS 8.1 insists (after awhile) that I *must* re-implement a passcode.
(FWIW, with iOS 7 I could turn off passcodes permanently, sending iPads to sales prospects secure in the knowledge they could easily operate the iPad over the course of several weeks, reviewing media devoted to their projects, and not finding themselves locked out.)
Advice much appreciated. -
How do you ocr pdfs without having humongous increase in file size?
I ocr'd a 60mbyte pdf with Adobe Acrobat 10 so I could search it and it came out to about 360mbytes. How can I keep the file size smaller when using ocr on pdfs? I have about 100 documents I need to OCR and that would use more drive space than I have available.
Yesterday I used Searchable Image to OCR a 75mbyte document that was 830 pages long and it came out to 345mybtes. Then I used Optimized document and it brought it down to 152mbytes.
Now I'm going to try the same document using Searchable Image (exact) option and see if it works any better. I hate having to waste my time experimenting to economize but that's the way it always is with computer stuff. In fact, I just learned about Advanced searching instead of regular searching and that saved at least 1 hour of time going through the document. I have to go through 100 documents like that. But first I have to OCR them. -
I was hoping for a hotkey option or button on the toolbar to load images for a single page for a single session at a time. Turning off images really saves bandwidth and speeds load time on websites, but sometimes I'd like to view the images on a page, but only for this session. Is that possible, or do I have to go to the Exceptions page and allow a specific domain or page to load images and then go back and remove that domain or page when I'm done?

Ask for the file name when printing on XP x64
I have just installed my CS3 on Windows XP x64. Installation was successful and all is working fine. But there are few things which are working differently and I can not find any way to fix it.
One of the problems I have is that I can not have it so that I will be asked for the name of the PDF file created. It simply goes through and allocates name of the file used for printing. It happens for all applications i.e. Word, Excel, InDesign, Corel. In my automatic processes I realy need to be prompted for the file name / location. Is it possible to modify some settings to have it under XP x64 ??? I hope it is.
Thanks for advise.
TonyI would like to add few details which may help to find the source of the problem.
When I will select Adobe PDF as a printer, then click on Properties and select
Prompt for Adobe PDF filename
in Adobe PDF Output Folder then printing starts and will not progress at all. If I will change the Adobe PDF Output Folder to local it prints OK but is not asking for the file name / destination.
How I can have it printing and asking for the file name / destination ? Or maybe on XP x64 it is not possible at all ?
Regards,

When I used Quark to make a PDF, the title area in the PDF was automatically populated with the file name, there in the properties tab. We like use this area to confirm file names of original files, so we can keep track of drafts, (in case the file name of the PDF is changed, which our boss often does). Is there any way to set up InDesign to do the same?
@stadlock – I think I know what you mean…
You exported to PDF and changed the file name in the export dialog to a different one from the document name presented there the first time you exported that document. And in exports after that the new name will be presented in the dialog instead of the name of the document.
What you can do against that?
1. First time you want to export: Save before the document is exported. And do not save after it's exported with a new file name.
2. After the new file name is already there in the export dialog:
Type in the document name in the dialog. Export. Or abort after chosing a export preference. Save. Check again, if the document's file name is in the export dialog. If yes, procede like in suggestion #1. If not do a full export with the document's file name, save and then procede with suggestion #1.

Thanks for the reply

Looking to choose an app for viewing word documents, but need to be able to view a complete page per screen (preferably full screen) without having to 'nudge' the screen 'up' to view the bottom of the page.
Will Pages do the job?Not exactly.
You will find yourself nudging the page up or down a bit. Earlier versions of iOS Pages allowed "full page view" but that really wasn't full page either. You can squeeze the view to fit, but as soon as you release it, the document springs back to normal size - it is only about a line off from what you are looking for.
An alternative would be to view a Pages Document as a PDF and view the PDF in an app such as GoodReader - there you can see both the top and bottom edges of each page. There are many other PDF viewers available in the App Store.
Hope this helps. -
I can print to PDF using PDF995, but not the regular Adobe PDF that comes up in the list of printers.
I've tried repairing the Adobe installation, but that didn't help.It might help to understand the process, though I am almost surprised that AA 9 worked for printing on Win 8 (thanks for that info). Normally the print process is to print to the Adobe PDF printer (without the print-to-file checked). The process does create a PRN file that is actually a PS file. AcroTray (running in the background) completes the process of taking the PS file and running Distiller in the background to create the PDF. If you have problems, you should be able to print to file (assuming the print driver works -- but you indicate it does) and then opening the PRN file in Distiller to create the PDF.
