Printing to Xerox WorkCentre 7655 From Mac OS 10.4.9

I have a 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 (1 GB RAM) and upgraded to Mac OS X (10.4.9) a couple of days ago. My printer (Xerox WorkCentre 7655, attached through Airport Wireless/Ethernet) will only print one copy, regardless of how many copies I request. If I request 200 copies, I still only receive one copy from the printer.
I noticed that one of the problem 10.4.9 "corrected" was the number of copies with the print server.
What gives? How do I get the number of copies I request to print out correctly?
I have shut everything down, re-set everything, reinstalled the printer drivers, and scoured the settings to make sure they are correct. This was clearly engaged when I upgraded to 10.4.9... Any helpful thoughts?
PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have encountered the same problem -- only prints one copy, regardless of how many are requested -- with our Xerox WCP C2636. Xerox tech support reloaded and upgraded the software on the printer and I reinstalled the PPD on my machine. Choosing "collated" fixed the problem in Adobe InDesign CS2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 7. But the problem persists in other apps, such as Word 2004, Preview and Pages. I spoke with Xerox level 2 sofware support; they were unable to reproduce the problem on their test Mac (I suspect it wasn't upgraded to 10.4.9).
I suppose that I am joining the increasingly large number of users who are eagerly awaiting a fix for this annoying and frustrating problem.

  • Booklet issues with InDesign CS3 on Mac, and Xerox WorkCentre 7655 booklet maker

I'm having several booklet making issues I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I am on a MacPro, OS X Leopard, InDesign CS3. We have a Xerox WorkCentre 7655 that has booklet making capability. The network server is a PC with Microsoft 2003 server on it.
The booklet I am making uses two 11x17 trays - one for cover stock for the cover and one for regular 24 lb paper for the insides. The layout is single pages rather than spreads - spreads did not work at all.
From InDesign using the printer, the cover pages come out backwards and mirror image. The inside pages are upside down and on only half the page. I did not not InDesign file/booklet because that seemed to create even more problems with the Xerox booklet settings, and I don't know how to try InDesign booklet and not the Xerox settings.
I tried making a pdf and printing booklets from that. On the Macintosh, I can't figure out how to tell it the pages are 11x17 so it keeps giving me an error that the printer is waiting for 8 1/2 x 11.
I actually did get the booklets to print properly using the pdf file and a PC, but any gray graphics came out lilac. The text was black, and the covers were the correct colors - only the inside graphics were the wrong color.
I hope this makes some sense - I really need help. I've tried everything I can think of. I spent a lot of time with Xerox 1st and 2nd level support, and they have washed their hands of this. So I'm posting here hoping someone has some ideas.
Any other information anyone might need for this issue? Thanks so much.

I have a similar machine configuration and have had many issues printing to an HP 9500mfp. Pages rotate, mirror, 2-sided both print on same side. I've lost the "bookletmake" function. Jobs will not recognize paper trays (meaning I have to manually tell it which paper tray holds the tabloid stock). I've tried using the "Page Setup" dialog box to no avail. On occasion, I can get some of the features to work with a pdf printing from Acrobat. Sometimes, that doesn't work either - never with any kind of predictability. Printing to the HP 4700 is more reliable. I've downloaded the updated "Leopard" compatible driver from HP, but it fixed no issues. When I tried contacting tech support for HP, the replied that this is an OS issues and not with equipment, leaving me SOL.

  • Logo appearing in print preview but not in print for Xerox Workcentre M118

    Hello experts,
I am not able to print logo(in .bmp) format in Xerox Workcentre M118 PCL 6 printer. It is displaying accurately in print preview. While taking print out only grey background is coming, no trace of logo. Can anyone suggest, what are the print related settings needed in SPAD or any other transaction needed to print graphics. The logo is coming accurately if it is stored in pdf and then printed.
    Regards,
    Debopriyo

    hi,
To print logos using the SMARTFORMS, we need to first upload that logo onto the application server. The steps to upload the logo onto the application server are as follows:
    1. Go to transaction SE78
    2. Select the desired graphic in the tree (for example, BMAP)
    3. Choose GRAPHIC --> IMPORT
    4. Enter the name of the graph and the description
    5. Select the type of the image (black/white or color)
Now the logo is uploaded onto the application server. To print this logo using the SMARTFORM, create a graphic node in the window and enter the name of the image you had just uploaded. Your logo should now print.

  • OS 10.6.8 update will no allow me to print a Xerox Workcentre 7132 on a network

With OS 10.6.7 everything worked perfectly.
Now with 10.6.8 I cannot print.  Printer pauses in print.  I cannot print, period.  Though all Windows based computers can.
    Any assistance will be appreciated.
And as additional information...... when I updated.... both iMac and MBP will not print on the Workcentre 7132 via the 'network'.
    Thanks,
    Reed

Yes,there's nothing wrong with FCE 4 and as long as you have all the updates for the computer it should work on any OS .........  except some people have reported problems with the latest Mountain Lion.
Lars  ....... in your original post you made a totally incorrect statement saying that FCE was (basicly just an expanded iMovie - yes, I felt ripped off)
FCE is nothing like iMovie in any way, as it is actually a slightly cut-down version of the 900 euro Final Cut Pro.
If you think it has not got many features, you mustn't have found them, as it is to all intents and purposes as fully-featured as any pro editing app.
As a pro app it's not something you can simply install and use immediately  .........  unless you are already familiar with pro editing.
It can take weeks or more to become familiar with its basic features.

  • Can't print to Xerox copier, OK from other computers

I have recently set up our iMac next to our Xerox copier. I have dowloaded and installed the printer driver (and restarted), made whatever configurations to it were necessary, but I cannot print from any application, with one exception: i can print from the Xerox Command Workstation (test pages) -- although this does not actually use a print dialog (it proves only one thing, that the computer can communicate over the network to the copier).
The Mac network and internet connection on the iMac are working fine. Appletalk is on. Other Macs have had no problem printing to the copier.
    Any thoughts?

I want to emphasize that everything else is working on the network: internet, other Macs and PCs on the network (I can talk to them, they can talk to me), the fiery server software (connects from this iMac to the fiery server no prob.).
However, whenever I print from any application, it never prints but continually says: "printer busy; will retry in 10 seconds"

  • 2-sided printing on HP Photosmart 5524 from Mac

Hi. I've just bought a new HP 5524 and installed it, connected by wireless to my MacBook Pro on Mac OS X 10.7.5.
I do not get the option to select 2-sided printing in the printer dialogue box, and would like to know what is needed to do to be able to print 2-sided.
    Best
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
Two-sided printing is available within the printer driver and can be configured as following:
From the application used to print, click the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Check the box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Short-Edge binding (landscape).
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... Any used preset will remain default till another preset will be used.
Please let me know of any issues,
    Shlomi

  • Cannot Print to Xerox Workcentre PE220 through Airport

    Folks,
Been trying to print to a Xerox Workecentre PE220 via Airport but no joy. I can print OK if the printer is directly plugged in.
I am using Belkin Wireless router and it is working fine through my other PCs and also my imac when booted onto windows.
The Belkin website recommends using IPP, but when I set up the printing with the fixed IP address of the print server it always shows it as 'busy'.
    Any other suggestions ?
    Cheers,
    Campbell

If the PC's are working fine, then have a look at the port configuration being used. Typically Windows defaults to Standard TCP/IP Port, which uses Port 9100. For the Mac this is HP Jetdirect - Socket.

  • Suddenly cannot print to hp6510 which works from mac?

Suddenly cannot AirPrint to hp6510 from ipad2.  Printer works perfectly with MacBook. iPad networked correctly to routers etc. what and how to check what is wrong?i

    Hello John,
I found some resources that I think might help with the issue you are experiencing when trying to print from your iPad.
First, I recommend following these steps:
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
    Verify that the printer:
Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
You can find the full article here:
    AirPrint Basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If you are still having trouble printing after following those steps, I recommend following these steps:
Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.

  • Issue while printing to A4 from Xerox J75 (fiery) through Mac OSX 10.9.3.

I've encountered an issue while printing to A4 from Xerox J75 (fiery) through Mac OSX 10.9.3.
The document and printer settings are set for A4 but the print job goes to the printer as A3.
The problem only occurs while printing through Adobe Photoshop CS6.

I get into trouble if I choose A4 borderless instead of A4 in the Photoshop Print settings.
There, Tray 2 is dimmed out
To be honest, I don't see borderless in your settings, but my  doing that on my printer causes a default to the larger Tray 1.
That's all I have tonight. If I think of anything else, I'll post it.  Here's thread on this issue as well.
Wrong paper size sent to the printer

  • Xerox workcentre 7535 print driver no longer works with Mavericks 10.9.2

Unable to change any settings in Print dialog pane for Xerox WorkCentre 7535. Xerox says its an Apple software problem. They have issed three revised drivers since Apple released Mavericks OS-X 10.9.2. Not only does latest driver (4-11-14) not work, their universal driver for Mavericks no longer works. Anybody else trying to print on a Xerox device?

I think I solved this.  Our Canada office has a WorkCentre 7556, and it was having the same problem(s).
Here's what I found and did:
Log into the printer's web interface.  Go to the Properties tab.  On that page, expand General Setup.  Then click Configuration Report.
Find and click the link for Machine Hardware.  In that box, find a line item for Finisher Type.  Scribble down or remember your finisher type (ours was Xerox Professional Finisher).
On the Mac in question, go to System Preferences, Printers & Scanners.  Find your Xerox printer, click Options & Supplies, and then the Options button.  Now on our machine, from a default installation, the finisher was set to OCT (Offset Catch Tray) and was greyed out.  Changing this to the correct finisher mentioned above made all of our errors go away.
Cheers, good luck, and um, I guess mark as Answered if this works for you please?

  • HT3771 Print with a Xerox workcentre 5020 using Snow Leopard

    Hi!
I've been looking everywhere for a driver (any driver) that may help me use this Workcentre with our Macs. I know there's none from Xerox for this printer so, any idea, tip or suggestion to make this work? Besides buying a new printer of course...

Looking at the specifications for this printer, it appears that is uses a proprietary driver that was only ever released for Windows.
I also had a look at the Linux Foundation for an open source driver but there does not appear to be one for this model.
If you still have a Windows XP computer, you may be able to use it as a print server and use this instruction to print from the Mac.

  • Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

    John -
My "Use" menu only contains Apple print drivers.  And Canon drivers, from the location I set this machine up.  None for my home use....which is a Xerox machine.
Not being on the menu, I don't know how to acquire this generic driver.
    Any further helpful hints?
I appreciate your thoughts and help.

  • Very slow printing to Xerox 9300 from 10.9

Hi everyone, hoping to get some insight on how to fix this issue:
When printing to a Xerox ColorQube 9300 from any 10.9 Mac, the print job just sits in the queue and takes 5-10min to actually get sent to the printer.  We use Windows 2008 R2 print servers, so the Xerox is installed using the LPD method.  The job is being slowed on the OS X side.
    What I've found during troubleshooting:
    1. Only happening with any version of 10.9 (10.9-10.9.5)
    2. Any of the 10.9 compatible Xerox drivers
    3.  Even a simple "Hello" txt doc will have this issue.
    4. IPP and direct IP socket printing is fine.
    5. Using the "generic postscript" driver is fine (but no color)
    6. If you look at the cups queue during printing, you see many little 1Kb jobs being generated for that printer on the client. Those will continue to be generated even if you cancel the print job.
    7. OS X 10.10 Yosemite does NOT have this issue.
I have tried everything I can think of. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey there pdl0076,
If you are stipp seeing this print issue, I would recommend using the these troubleshooting steps in the following article specifically to see if there is an issue with the printer profile, or if the printer system needs reset:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • 10.5.5 Update PROBLEM Printing to Xerox from inDesign

I just updated to 10.5.5 and I'm having problems printing from inDesign to a Xerox Phaser 7760. All print outs come out distorted (stretch horizontally) I called Adobe and the work around they gave me is when I hit print, under setup [Paper Size] must be set to "Defined by Driver" not the actual paper size you want to print. That now has to be set under the [Page Setup] tab. Very annoying and inexplicable.
The problem only occurs when I print to this specific printer from just inDesign. It doesn't happen with any other program or if I print to any other printers from inDesign.

    CarTravel wrote:
That solved it. For others that are interested, you need to either go to another machine that has 10.5.4 or download that image file from somewhere and do the following.
command-shift-G in the Finder to enable you to open the hidden folder, paste /usr/libexec/cups/filter/ as the go-to line. The file your looking to replace with the old system is called pstops. I saved a backup of the 10.5.5 version before replacing it with the older 10.5.4 You will need to log in as root in order to do the replacement of the files.
I would suggest someone try a safer and easier solution. Try installing Ghostscript. You can get a Mac OS X installer for Ghostscript at _http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/foomatic_. This will leave your hidden system files intact so you don't accidently break something.
I don't guarantee that this will work, but given the solution that Justin Lancaster posted about using Rosetta brought using Ghostscript to mind. What I think may be happening is that when using the Adobe applications under Rosetta, the applications are sending PDF or PICT with PostScript to the printing system. When running natively on Intel Macs, I believe the applications are sending PostScript to the printing system. I have seen this with Adobe Reader 8. Printing from Adobe Reader 8 on an Intel Mac sends PostScript to the printing system. If Ghostscript is present on your system, it will use Ghostscript rather than the Apple supplied pstops filter.
I hope someone will give Ghostscript a try and report back. I don't have any of the mentioned Adobe applications to test this on. Ghostscript does come with an uninstaller, so it can easily be removed if it doesn't solve the problem or the issue with Apple's pstops filter is resolved.
