Printing using direct IP address of printer

Printing using direct IP address of printer
Is there a way in Adobe Livecycle where we can directly print using printer’s IP address by passing print server?
If so what settings we have to do i.e.
which entries to be added on TrustStore,
which protocol to be use,
which format we have to use in PrintURI?
I have tried,
Protocol: DirectIP
PrinterURI: \\<Print server's name>\<Printer's IP address>
                 \\<Print server's IP address>\<Printer's IP address>
                 \\<Print server's name>\<Printer's IP address>:9100
                 \\<Print server's IP address>\<Printer's IP address>:9100
                 \\<Printer's IP address>:9100
                 \\<Printer's IP address>
I have tried all these PrinterURI and I keep getting belwo error,
Caused by: java.net.UnknownHostException
Thanks

  • Printing Reports directly from to a printer via 10g forms (Linux)

    Hi all,
I need to be able to print Reports directly from a form to a printer (bypassing the form output) on Linux (RHEL 5). The trick here is this is Linux, not windows so, wasn't sure how to deal with printers in this case.
I have the option working where I can run a report and set the options to "Cache" and PDF and it displays my outputted report directly in a new browser window w.
I use the SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY, RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, and WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT properly for the PDF in a window.
a.) I want to send them directly to a printer, preferably to a user's default printer on their PC, bypassing the output screen. How can I accomplish this?
b.) I also would like the ability to generate a PDF (bypassing the output on a browser window) and put the form in a specified directory on a client's PC (which is what I used in 6i Client/Server). I believe I need to utilitize the WebUtil to allow this to happen. Otherwise, I'm thinking I just build a queue for the user on the Linux server and build a screen that shows all the reports they've generated for the past X amount of days and let them open them up and print from there.
Any help (particulary for Part A) would be very beneficial.
    Chris

    1)
if your app server is on a Linux server, for direct printing to work, the printer must be setup and accessible under Linux server using system-config-printer command, for PDF printout you probably want a postscript option checked
if you print to screen (PDF) and then use print option then your windows client machine must have access to the printer
    2)
you must pass this printer name as part of the report parameters.
    set_report_object_property(oRptObj, report_destype, Printer);
    and
    hidden_action := hidden_action ||'&report='|| cRptSrcFile; -- source of report program to call
    hidden_action := hidden_action ||'&destype='|| cDesType;
    hope this helps

  • 564 black ink - printer using photo ink for general printing!

I ran out of regular black ink for my Photosmart C6380 a couple of weeks ago.  Had a full cartridge of photo black, but none was used - pages were very faint gray.  After replacing the empty cartridge with a 564XL, I see that my photo black is now half empty while the regular black ink is full and has not been touched at all!!  Where's the confusion?  How do I make the printer draw from the standard ink cartridge instead of the photo?  It won't work without every cartridge in place.

    Hi Selig,
Thanks for posting you issue on forum,
From what i understand you would like to Print use black ink only instead of photo black.
You have an option under the printer driver which says Black ink only, by selecting that you will not be able to print color. On most cases this should help you use the black cartridge over the photo black.
If you have to print color you might need to change this option,
I dont have the printer over here but the steps are from best of my knowledge.
Go to Control Panel>> Devices and Printers>> Highlight Printer>>Right click on Printer and click Printing Preferences.
Click on Advance>>click on the drop down for Print in Greyscale and select Black Ink only
with newer driver we have this option under Printing Preferences>>Paper/Quality tab and under Quality settings.

  • Cant find settings for black and white prints using konica minolta bizhub 280 printer

I am having difficulty finding where to set our network Konica Minolta bizhub C280 printer to print black and white instead of colour from my macbook pro with OSX 10.8.2. I dont want to change the default printer settings, just change individual document print settings. Can anyone please assist me as to where and how to do this?

"How about under "Default Settings"? Is there a option for B&W printing?"
    No there isn't.

  • Label-print using po qty-how to print using unit of measurement from po

I have a report that's using the po qty to determine the amount of lables to print.
However, this does not work for items when they are ordered by conversion factors other than 1. What I need help with it how to get my qty of my conversion to make it print the amount i need - some examples of orders
    1- bx10 - (1 box of 10 per box) - need 10 tags(conversion is 10)
12- bags - work fine with this one - need 12 tags (conversion is 1 here)
3- bag100 (3 bags of 100 per bag) - this one i only need 3 tags(conversion is 100 but only need 2 tags because items are in a 3 bags rather then 300 individual item ( this might be a issue) This will print correctly but if a conversion is added that factors it in - i may get 300 labels which i dont need
as you can see i have different conversion for most every type of item I order.
This method seems to get close to what I need - as do other label reports I have- I thought I would feel this method out since the conversion problem seems a rather simple fix.
here is what I have for my sql query and then my select statement:
As stated I need somehow to have the conversion from the po added into the report to determine the amount of labels to print

It sounds like it is a problem with the Vista system environment particulars, which may not have a fix until the next update of IE8 or SmartWeb Printing. A possible workaround in the meantime, could be to use IE7 or Firefox 3.0. If you go back to an older browser, don't forget to save your favorites/bookmarks.
It can be frustrating for software developers to know about a bug, and experience difficulties in trying to create a solution. Hopefully a solution will be found for that issue soon.

  • I'm using my Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L to wirelessly connect my printer to my desktop and tablet will the printer use my monthly data to print/recieve info from my computer/tablet

I know a normal wireless router would allow me to connect my printer to my desktop and tablet but will using my Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L as a access point incur data usage each month?

Hello Heath76, you pose an excellent question! Yes, if the Jetpack is used as an access point for any of the devices listed it will incur data usage.

  • Trouble with printing through 10.8 shared printer using lpd.

Hi, hoping someone will have had a similar issue.
I am using a OSX 10.8 mac mini as a print server.  I am using it as a print server because because i have clients that print across subnets and bonjour will not work for this application.  Previously with my 10.7 imac I had shared the generic printer aimed directly at the printers IP address.  Client macs aim at the print server using lpd (using ip or host name) and then the printer name (share) for the queue and also use the generic ppd. When a client adds this configuration aimed at the old 10.7 print server the printer would install and printing would be succesfull.  Now with the 10.8 print server a client (reguardless of client OS version) i get the "Unable to verify the printer on your network." when installing and printing fails. I have tried the proper ppd for the make/manufacture of the printer (i didnt think this would make a difference) I have tried using the cups commands as well:
    cupsctl --share-printers
    cupsctl --share-printers --remote-any
    cupsctl 'BrowseLocalProtocols="cups dnssd lpd smb"'
assuming lpd was just not available and needed to be turned on...
I am able to ping the 10.8 on the network from clients verifying they can see the server
also have tried using ipp with no luck.
Anyone else had this issue and if so is there a work around?  Thanks!

The Mini prints just fine to the printer.  on a side note, I tried to add a "client" printer to the mini server.  I added a printer using the ip address 127.0.0.1 (self resolving)  and the que name as the share.  This didnt work either.  Im thinking this must be a cups setting?

  • Sharing printer using Airport, G5, iBook

The print quality is very light gray and the graphics are unreadable when I try to print from the iBook. Printing from the G5 desktop is not a problem. I have downloaded new Mac OsX software. What is the solution?

Hey .. thanks! I tried the Bonjour route, but with no luck. Windows XP could see the printer attached to the Mac, but when I tried printing from the PC, it went nowhere. I tried the other method you suggested -- defining the printer using the IP address -- and it worked! The only thing I noticed was that the print quality was a little lighter than when the printer is direct-attached. Make any sense to you?

  • Print driver is not shown in "Print Using:" menu

I have a HP psc 2410 printer that I have connected directly to my Mac, but I want to connect it though my Windows PC which is my home server. The printer works fine when it is connected via the USB cable and the driver listed after "Print Using:" in the add new printer box is called "hp all-in-one 2.2.9". When I try to add the same printer via the Windows network I see it the printer, but when I try to find the driver in the "Print Using:" menu, I don't find it. How can it be there for the USB connection, but not for the network connection? Where do I find it, if it isn't in that driver list?
    Thank you!

Print drivers written using the older Mac printer driver model specifically list the type of connections they support. Most of these old style drivers do not support Windows printing. I think that is what you are seeing.

  • Print Report Direct from current PC

    Hi
I want to print pre printed reports direct to dot matrix Printer without Concurrent Manager in requested PC ( Print from PC not from Server ) .
So , can i do that or not ?
    Thanks,
    Mohamed Badr

In general you have 2 options for printing.
    1) print via the server printing queue
    2) download/open the report and click the print button on your workstation
there is a 2 B option. If we are talking about a HTML based report you can modify the reports in such a way that you send a java script with it that starts the printing. However this is (A) not advisable and (B) somewhat experimental and not supported ;-)
If you want to know more about printing via javascript check this page: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/javascript/article.php/3471121/Print-a-Web-Page-Using-JavaScript.htm

  • Printing using IPP with linux

I'm trying to print to my airport extream connected printer from linux. I thought I could set it up as an IPP printer. I was wondering if anyone knew the uri of the printer. I have another ipp print server which has a uri of http://ipaddress/lp. I was hoping that someone knew a similar address for the airport.
I also tried setting it up as a TCP printer using the ip address as the address and both 9100 and 631 as ports and it could not find the printer.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

The Airport Extreme "print server" does not support the IPP printing protocol, nor does it support the LPR printing protocol. It only supports raw printing to port 9100, sometimes called the "JetDirect" protocol.
You didn't provide much detail about your network setup - but make sure you are sending the port 9100 data to the correct IP address of the Airport Base Station. On a basic setup where the Base Station acts as the router for your entire network, it will be at 10.0.1.1. This will not be the case if the Base Station is being used in any other manner on an existing cabled or wireless network.
