Printing w/virtual pc 7

I need to know how to set this so it will print it used to print, honestly I think VPC6 was easier to change settings. this is SUPPOSED to print automatically but doesn't since I changed printers
it either sens to the printer and never prints OR gives me an error and tells me to trouble shoot

Hi catkoko, and a warm welcome to the forums!
What does VPC7 say when you go down to the Printer Icon at the bottom of the Window?

  • Printing from Virtual PC in 10.4.8

    I haven’t been able to print from Virtual PC 7.0.2 since upgrading a few
    days ago to OS X 10.4.8 (iMac G5). I don’t know whether the O / S change is
    causing this, or something else. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Moments after I posted this topic, I heard from the guy who maintains our office's computers. He has had several problems with 10.4.8, including a mangled server. He attributes my Virtual PC printing problem to 10.4.8. If anyone else has had this problem, I'd like to hear about it.
    I suppose what I need to do now is figure out how I can restore 10.4.7. I back up my files and applications, but never the system.

  • Printing on Virtual Printer

    I need to print a document on a virtual printer (its a adobe postscript printer), all I am trying to do is print a document on it, and then the printer is capable of creating an postscript output file for the document printed. I can print on it, but somehow, the text that I am printing does not go through the printer converter, it goes directly to the output stream of the printer rather then coming in at the very first level.
    Anyone smart enough to do this ?

    The official instructions in the http://sourceforge.net/projects/g-manua … rce=navbar site says:
    Using the Gnome 3 Shell GUI:
        1)      $ gnome-session-properties
                Startup Programs -> GnomeManualDuplex -> Enable
                [logout][login]
        2)      Print -> GnomeManualDuplex (Virtual Printer) -> Print
    But there's no package called gnome-session-properties. There's one in AUR but it is outdated.

  • Printing on Virtual Printserver with bad Performance

    Hi all,
    I have a virtual Print server running with Server 2012 on a Hyper-V host. I'm facing performance issues when clients try to print on a shared printer. I have another physical print server confirgured exactly the same and using the same drivers for other
    printers (but same models). From the same client I can print on the phyisical server and I'm not having any problem while printing on the virtual one causes me a delay. They are in the same Gigabit network.
    Services on Physical Server: Print Server, DFS Replication & Nameserver, TrendMicro AV, Windows FW
    Services on virtual server: Print Server, Azure AD Sync / DirSync client, Trendmicro AV, Windows FW
    The problem: When printing from notepad (but even from other applications) there is a window appearing "now printing" while the print job is being sent to the printer. When printing via the virtual server this window stays 8.5s
    and freezes the application. I have measured the time in different scenarios. The test has been done from the same client:
    Printing Client-> Virtual Server
    All services active: 8.5s
    Inactive AV: 8.5s
    Inactive FW: 4s
    Printing directly on Virtual Server
    All services on: 1s
    Printing Client -> Phyisical Server
    All services on: 1s
    File and print services are allowed to pass the FW. I've tried various measurements:
    Inactivate IPv6 (registry key)
    Inactivate chimney offload
    inactivate RSS
    inactivate Auto Tuning
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot!

    In windows 2012 there is a really good feature for remote sites Branch office printing. You can eanble that so machines prints directly to pritner instead of going through server.

  • Need help adding printer to Virtual XP mode

    Windows 7 64 bit
    HP Laserjet 4250
    I have XP mode installed for a legacy program that only runs in XP. The integration settings say the printer is shared but XP mode will not recognize it. When I go to the USB menu and click the printer name, nothing happens.
    I've looked for solutions on here and nothing worked.
    Under the USB menu it has the printer listed and says Shared next to it, but XP does not see it.

    Hi,
    Firstly let's double check if you have already enable the integration feature:
    1. Go to your Start Menu > All Programs >
    Windows Virtual PC > Windows Virtual PC
    2. Right-click on the Windows XP Mode virtual machine and choose
    Settings
    3.  Go to the Integration Features
    Make sure the printer is checked.
    And then just as Rick said, you also need the printer driver that is applied to Windows XP in Windows XP mode.
    After that, click USB to use the printer directly.

  • Printing to virtual pdf printer

    Prior to updating to snow leopard, we were able to select FILE - PRINT and choose an Adobe PDF 9.0 virtual printer - the doc would be converted to pdf and show up on desktop.
    Now that we've updated, we go thru the same sequence... everything looks normal (the PDF printer shows that it's working) - but we're not able to find the converted pdf file anywhere.
    I realize we can just print and then save as a pdf - but need to regain the ability to print to a virtual printer due to some limitations in Fusion

    Apple made a change to the security model in Snow Leopard and Adobe was unable or unwilling to update the virtual printer. CUPS-PDF provides the same functionality but was able to make the necessary 3 minute coding change that Adobe couldn't.

  • Installing a Printer in Virtual Machine of a Core 2 Duo

    Hello everyone:
    I have already install the Parallels software and the Windows Xp in my IMac. I works fine so far, but I have a problem.
    When I try to use the printer, Windows doesn't recognice it, and when I try to install it, iMac OS tell me that there is another aplication is using the USB hardware I'm trying to use, that I have to wait 5 to 10 seconds... and so on.
    What can I do to install my printer in the Virtual Machine, working winth Windows XP
    My printer is a HP Photosmart 4100.
    Thanks for your help.

    FYI, this is the discussion area for the much older iMac G4s.
    Since you have an Intel-based iMac you should post in the Intel-based iMac discussion area.

  • SMB problems.... printing and virtual homes

    I have SMB printing enabled and I am finding that all of the PCs using it show in their queue that they do not have permissions to print, however half of them can print despite the error message....
    Has anyone else seen this or know what could cause it?
    Also, SMB virtual homes with not let me shut it off. It keeps checking the box back when I hit save.

    Hello Matthias
    See Don's reply from Feb 7, 2011. This applies to any version of CRW32.exe. The viewer you are refering to, is simply a "crippled" version of the exe in that it does not let you change db connections, etc., etc. But it still uses the WIN APIs. Re.:
    Furthermore, as a customer of the Crystal Reports product (paying for licenses since more that a decade now) we would expect there is a solution to this problem. This means that the print functions offered by the CR runtime should be able to generate an output that can be parsed by external programs (like fax software), just like is was in the previous versions of the CR runtime.
    See Don's reply from Feb 7, 2011 where we explains the issue succinctly and in pretty good detail.

  • Sharing printer with virtual machine

    Host is Arch with KDE 4.4, guest is Windows 7. I can't figure out for the life of me how to set up my printer so that it's shared with with the VM (every "guide" I've found so far hasn't worked). I can directly attach it to the VM, but then the host no longer has access to it.
    The printer is an HP Deskjet D2445 (so hplip is involved).
    Help is appreciated greatly.

  • Adding a Printer to Virtual Machine

    I have a Virtual Machine with Windows XP Pro Mode on my L775D with Windows 7 Pro.  I use an Epson XP-400 printer wirelessly for both my L775D and L675D (Win 8 Pro).  They were no problem to install and work flawlessly. I have tried multiple times installing the printer on the virtual machine both wirelessly and USB connection to no avail.  The printer is also rated for XP Pro.
    Does anyone know if there is some inherent reason why the printer will not install in the virtual machine? The software installs without any problems up until near the end when the printer is to be activated.  The message is can not find any printer on this machine. Check your connections, etc. Everything is connected as it should be and at the proper time according to installation instructions.

  • Email & Print to Virtual Printer

    Hi everyone,
    I have a button, under this button I perform validations, I check if certain fields are completed before I can allow the user to email the form.
    That works perfectly..
    The else part is the problem, if the fields are completed I want to email the form, but I want to attach to the email the form that I print to the virtual printer,
    so on the else I have this code:
    else{
              event.target.submitForm({cURL:"mailto: "+ vEmail +"?subject=" + vSubject +"&body=" + vBody,cSubmitAs:"PDF",cCharset:"utf-8"});
              var oDoc = event.target;
              var  printparam=oDoc.getPrintParams();
              printparam.interactive=printparam.constants.interactionLevel.automatic;
              printparam.printerName="cutePDF Writer";
              oDoc.print(printparam);
    How can I achieve what I want...Will appreciate your assistance.
    Regards,
    Ace

    Hi Ace,
    There is an example of printParams() here: https://acrobat.com/#d=Kuivy1SdOSbQnRs3kyeVDQ.
    While you can use this method generally, I am fairly sure that you can not set it up to print silently, as this I suspect is a security risk. Eg document printing to a remote printer that the user knows nothing about.

  • How to connect printer to virtual computer

    How to connect a hp830 printer to a VC running WXP? The same printer works fine on a physical PC, but when I follow directions in the install wizard to "add new printer" within the VC, it comes back "driver not installed" and fails.

    The only way to print from a remote source is to save the files locally and print them from there. There are some commercial class printers that will support remote printing, but I don't know the exact models. An alternative way of doing this would be to get a printer that supports ePrint. With ePrint you can print from any source that can send an email, from anywhere in the world. All you have to do is make sure the printer is on and has an active internet connection. Hope this helps.

  • Orarrp can't print pdf file directly to printer

    oracle remote print utility (orarrp) can't print pdf file directly to printer.
    we expect orarrp utility can handle ".rrpa" file (i.e. pdf file generated on the application server) by directly print the file to the client's printer, i.e. invoke the acrobat reader on the client side, display the the printer selection dialogue, after confirmation print the pdf file, then the acrobat reader close automatically nicely.
    However we are disappointed as the acrobat reader startup and display the pdf file content but does not print and does not close.
    After testing the problem several times, there are some findings:-
    Finding (A):-
    (a) for the success of direct printing of pdf file, a physical path must be provided; we have tried 2 methods:
    1) using drag & drop to copy the pdf file directly to the browser
    2) open pdf file in the browser directly using browser menu-->File-->Open.
    (b) for the failure of direct printing, a virtual path is involved and we have also tried 2 methods:
    1) when web.show_document() is used
    2) enter the url to the URL bar of the browser,
    eg. http://appsvr.com:7777/report/test_printout/APPSVR1094707.rrpa (this is a virtual path/url)
    Finding (B):-
    (a)when the physical path is used, a temporary pdf file is generated in the same directory where the rrpa file exists in the application server,
    e.g. in application server: d:/printout/yyy.pdf is generated for d:/printout/xxx.rrpa when direct print occurs
    (b) however when the virtual path is used, there is no such temp "pdf" file generated and direct print failed.
    May be when virtual path is used, orarrp utility don't know where to generate the temp "pdf" so direct print doesn't occur.
    So, anyone has similar experience or further queries or has solutions, please join.
    Thanks for your attention.
