Printing web pages in PDF format

Hey Instead of Using the Print function of Operating system.
Firefox should provide it's own such feature which will be able to print web pages directly into the PDF format.
wiht out any need for such add-on it will be inbuilt in Firefox future versions.

Hi Sarish
Please contact Oracle Support for an answer or to customise your application so that it prints a report output in PDF Format.
To get PDF output you must run report/job with DESFORMAT=PDF in the command line instead of DESFORMAT=HTML/HTMLCSS.

  • Reinstalled Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 won't let me print web pages to PDFs

I'm really ticked at Adobe's "help" in updating the program only to cause a lot of misery.  I'd read Acrobat had a security update, and got a constant reminder from Adobe update to install the available update.  I've been using Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 with absolutely no problems printing web pages to PDFs.  I installed the 8.1.7 update which immediately disabled Acrobat completely.  So I wasted a lot of time uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling sequential versions to get back to 8.1.6.  Now I can't print web pages to a PDF.
I had NOT done anything else to installed programs in the meantime, except that probably Norton has automatically updated antivirus files in the background.  I don't have any problems using Acrobat to open and print an existing PDF, or to create new PDFs from my scanner.  I can do a hardcopy print of a webpage by selecting my Brother printer.  From Word 2002 and Excel 2002, I can create a PDF by "printing" to Acrobat as usual.   The only problem is creating a PDF by "printing" a webpage by selecting Acrobat as the device from the list of available printers.  This problem happens both with Firefox and with Internet Explorer 7.
I have Windows XP Pro SP3.  I did the most recent Windows Tuesday security update several days before messing around with Acrobat and did not have any problems printing PDF files from Firefox or IE7.  So, it seems like it's clearly an Adobe Acrobat problem.  I get the small box saying "Preparing to Print" which goes nowhere and then I have to use the Task Manager to get out of the loop.  That closes Firefox, and when I reopen Firefox, the same webpage comes up.

There were problems with IE9 on it's initial release and that may be what you are seeing if that is the browser (you did not indicate the browser and that may be a key). If you have a different browser you might try that one with the same pages to see if it browser related.
By saying garbled it sounds like the fonts did not make it or you have selected "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat. Try checking the latter first. Then check if the fonts are embedded in the PDF by checking the document properties (ctrl-D). If they are not, go back to the browser and select the press or print job options before printing and see if they get embedded and if your problem is resolved.

  • Print web page to PDF file with live links in PDF file like Apple Safari's pdf prints?

With Firefox for Macintosh, can I print a web page to PDF in such a manner that when I option the PDF file and click on a link, it is a live link that opens in my system's default web browser?
With Apple Safari, when I print a web page to a PDF file, the links on that page are "live" and work to open the web browser to their destination. The PDF files I get from Firefox are dead. Clicking on link does not open in browser.
Is there a way to get FireFox to act more like Safari in this regard?
    Thanks

Seems the referenced thread is about Lion. I am having this problem in Snow Leopard 10.6.5 with Firefox. Any way to get PDFs with working links in Snow Leopard using FIrefox? I do not really want to have to use Safari for this purpose.
Going forward when and under what circumstances will future versions of Firefox be able to create PDFs with live links? Are there any circumstances where a current or past version of Firefox can do it under any current or past version of OS X?
    Thanks.

  • Convert Web Page to PDF formatting problem - 1st line of each paragraph outdented

    Hi Folks,
I get a formatting problem when I convert any web page to PDF using the 'Convert Web Page to PDF' option - the 1st line of each paragraph is outdented.
eg if i convert http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new-acrobat-xi.html I get this:
I get the same problem using IE 9, Chrome (latest) or Firefox 30.0. I don't get it converting a Word doc to PDF.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on a PC running Windows 7.
Is there a simple setting somewhere I am missing?
    Any help much appreciated!

Are you using "Adobe PDF" or "PDF or XPS?" I sounds like "Adobe PDF," but trying to be sure. Have you updated your Acrobat to the latest version? If not, try that.

  • Print web page to PDF with date as file name

    Hi
I'm doing environmental monitoring for a construction project and i need to download the 5 day forecast from a particular web site daily. I'd like to automate this to happen at 7 am every day. I've tried record but am having problems.
Here are the steps i'd like it to take:
    1. Open book mark in Safari
    2. Open print dialog (command p)
    3. Open save to PDF
    4. Select folder in finder
    5. Enter current date as file name
    6. Save pdf file.
I've tried Get Specified URL and nothing happens. When i record the mouse always misses.
    Help

Hi... had to put this up for a while as I got busy in my day job. Here's where i'm at
I can successfully generate a PDF file but it's blank. The other two problems I'm having is that I'd like to name the file with the current date. I can call up the current date using that tool but i can't figure out how to make it the file name whether i print to pdf or use the tool.
    I think there's something i'm missing here.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.3 will not convert web page to Pdf

While using Acrobat 9.1.3 Pro, I cannot convert web pages to PDF format.
the output is garbled and text is cyrillic or backwards.
    Using Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13

You do not have all the fonts embedded, but the basic document looks fine. There is an issue withe the printer setup in your browser that is leading to part of the page running off the paper - but that is a browser issue and not Acrobat. In some cases, a simple fix is to print as landscape.

  • I am using Firefox 11 and I am unable to print web pages. I can print PDFs ok. I tried to open the prefs.js file to delete anything that starts with print and I get an error message.

I cannot print web pages. I've tried the solutions suggested like deleting anything that starts with print in the prefs.js file but I get an error message: Script: c:\users\rick\appdata\roading\mozilla\firefox\profiles\iviwh5c1.default\prefs.js
    line: 1
    Char: 1
    Error: invalid character
    code: 800A03F6
    Source: Microsoft JScript compilation error

When editing '''prefs.js''' you need to use a simple text editor program. WinXP Notepad messes up the line formatting of prefs.js, so I use Wordpad - but you need to save the edited file in a Text-Only format (Wordpad asks about that when you go to save the edited file). I never used Win7, so I don't know if that version of Notepad messes with the line formatting of prefs.js or not.
Another thing - make sure '''''"Hide extensions for known file types"''''' is de-delected in Windows file / folder options > view -> advanced settings. Otherwise Windows may add a .txt file extension that you won't be able to see, and that will break that file in Firefox. '''prefs.js.txt''' won't be recognized by Firefox, when is expecting to find '''''prefs.js''''' .

Can I print web pages from Firefox 3.6.12 using adobe pro 9 (not using PDF Download) and if so how.

  • All of a sudden I have problems printing web pages wwith Firefox 3.6.8 (XP), but printing pdf pages is still fine (printing with other software as well)

Suddenly I can't print web pages with Firefox 3.6.8 anymore, but pdf pages pose no problem - the same applies to printing with any other software

    Thanks edmeister for your trouble!
I guess I should have written that I had tried the tips on 'reset printer' and 'does not print to paper at all' before I posted the question - to no avail.
The printer starts as normal: it's the right printer selected, the dialogue window shows the progress of sending the data to the printer - and after that: that's it. It simply vanishes from the queue, and nothing happens.

  • How can I print web pages with HP psc 2175 printer?

    Hi,
I'm having difficulty printing web pages with my HP psc 2175 printer. The printer spits out many pages before the actual page I want printed and then at times it doesn't print all of the section desired.
In fact, when I copied one page the other day, saved it as a pdf file to my computer, opened the file and the document still would not print.
Anyone have any idea what could be happening?
    Lee

I have a strange issue - I am also using HP Envy 100 410A and its prints fine from iPad2. But when I try to print from my Gen 1 iPad, it goes thru the motions (shows the printer, allows to select which pages to print, double sided print etc.) but the printing actually doesn't hapen.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • How can I prevent Firefox from opening the file I create when I print a page with PDF Create! 5

After I print a web page using PDF Create! 5, Firefox opens the file so i can view it. Before I print, I select print properties and disable "view resulting pdf". However, the file is always opened in Adobe Acrobat, although I believe I have Adobe Reader set as default. I do not want any file to open. This happens on my non-privileged accounts. On my privileged account, the file is not opened. I have removed Firefox profiles, re-installed Firefox, Reset Firefox in Help-Troubleshooting. PDF Create!5 print screen can only be viewed in a host program such as Firefox, Libre-office Writer, or any other program that prints. They do not open the file either.

Thanks for your help. This is the Scansoft (Nuance) program. What I do not understand is why when I tell the print driver not to open the file with a privileged account, it obeys me. I am not sure where in the registry I would look for the information. I do not want to, but perhaps I should remove the Adobe Acrobat program (temporarily?) - then what would it do? Again, when I print from other programs - browsers, wordprocessors, etc - the file is not opened after printing, just with FireFox. I guess I can live with it, I have spent too much time already.

  • Save Web page into PDF in Windows 7 32 bit for Adobe 7

When security under Internet options in Internet Explorer runs with "Enable Protected Mode" checked, can not save web page into PDF. The version of Adobe is 7.
    Nazir

Are you saying you cannot print to the Adobe PDF printer or what. You have to be more complete in your description since AA7 will not fully work in Win7. You will have to use workarounds, but knowing what steps you are using is important to giving any help. Just saying save does not help. Of course, you might be able to use the MS plugin for creating PDFs as an alternative if you only have AA7. One thing that you find with AA7 is that PDF Maker will likely not work and also the printer will have to be a print to file, followed with a use of Distiller to complete the PDF creation. The AA7 version of AcroTray that does a lot of the work in the background should not be expected to work with Win 7, thus the need for workarounds.

I am getting the following errow when I try converting web page to PDF using Acrobat 8 on IE 9 on Vista.  This worked previously but it appears that a recent update to Acrobat caused issues with this functionality.  This happened once before and after some troubleshooting the technician wasable to get the functionality working again.  The Adobe printer shows up with "Error" however I can still create PDFs from outlook.

  • Internet Explorer 9 Convert Web Page to PDF error

Hi I have a user that is having a problem using the Convert button to convert web pages to PDF's in IE 9. In some instances they get an error that says "Acrobat had an error converting to PDF". Printing to the PDF printer seems to work flawlessly but it isnt optimal when there are hundreds of pages that need to be converted. Anyone else seen an error like this? I have repaired the Acrobat X install (10.1.0) but still get the error. It does not happen to all sites and usually, attempting to convert a second (and even third) time succeeds.

Looks like this might be an intermittent bug, since Acrobat 10.1 added support for IE 9. Can you report the bug here:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
Also, do you have the same issue in Acrobat directly when choosing File > Create PDF > From Web Page?
