Printing Web reports

Hi
We have a web report with 3 queries in it. In the "Paging" property of the Analysis web items in WAD, I increased the number of rows to 300 so that the users don't have to scroll from page to page to see results. Now, the entire report with values for all 3 queries are seen on one page.
However, this is causing the browser to freeze, or take a very long time to display , and the report does not convert to PDF. When the Paging is set back to its default value of 25 rows, the report runs fine, much quicker and PDF conversion works.
My question is - is there a way for us to keep the Paging to 25 rows and have the users scroll from one page to another to see the entire result set, but also enable them to print the entire report with one click? As of now it seems like each page of the report has to be printed separately.
Would greatly appreciate any tips as it's an urgent issue. Thanks!

Printing web report by Excel

Dear BW people,
I tried to use the solution of Tobias Kaufmann to print web reports by means of Excel. When I apply this way of working to my report on BW 3.5, it works just fine. ut... when I do exactly the same on <b>BW 3.10</b> no Excel file is generated (though the HTML report refreshes).
I tried to search a reason for this in debugging mode several times and for several hours and I discussed this issue with colleagues but without any result. Anybody with experience on this topic on a BW 3.10 server? If so, did this work and were some modifications necessary?

It seems that the two notes in the requirements part is necessary for our BW3.10.
Still I still have three issues regarding the page setup of a printed Excel sheet. After spending a LOT of time, I was able to solve the problems... Is there a OfficeHTML-BW expert ?
1° I would like to put filter values in the header of each printed paper. The How To document uses this parameter in the @page section:
mso-header-data:"&L&0022Arial,Fett0022&12&G&C&0022Arial,Fett0022&14<&[REPTXTLG]> und
<&[DATAPROVIDER_1/REPTXTLG]>";
Is there a way to replace the queryname () by filter values?
2° On the first page the table has columnheaders (normal), but on the second page these headers are not repeated.
3° Even when I remove the <x:FitWidth>1</x:FitWidth>
<x:FitHeight>2</x:FitHeight> and the use <x:scale>100</x:scale>, the result of the report is ALWAYS printed (fit to) 1 page. Ofcourse the texts are way to small. How can I make sure the report is printed in a normal way?
I hope someone can answer at least one of my issues.

Mimes in "Print Web Report with Excel"

Hi all,
i am using the "How to.." Paper to implement the functionality for Printing Web Reports with Excel. I also Modify the Table during the rendering with the Modify Table Interface to set some mimes instead of inidcators in one column. The Export
into Excel Works Fine but after saving that Report in Excel, and reopen it i have
to confirm a Security Dialog / re-login . I think this is because of the mimes which refer to the WAS.
Now my Question :
Is it possible to get a result ( Exported Report into Excel with MIMES ) and avoid
a re login. I mean, to export the Mimes also.

I looked for LRSR_XLS_EXPORTF01 under program, I found the program but when I clicked into it, it prompt "there is no object list for INCLUDEs"
We have the export as excel implemented for sure. Do you think someone changed the name, or this name cannot be changed. I am new to ABAP too, but I am a programmer. Can you guide me the best way to trace this program?

Error in Printing Web Reports

Hi,
I have a requirement from an User. The user wants to take printouts of a web report and is using options: portrait / landscape from BW. The problem is that the entire report doesn't print. It trucates columns off to the right, and if the report is on more than one page, not all information is displayed. We have tried various options in the web and printer settings, including paper effects but the problem persists. I have attached a screen shot of the same.
I can now only think of suggesting the user to export the web report to excel, format it and take printouts, but that is not a solution to this problem.
Would appreciate help if anybody has worked on this kind of problem earlier.

unfortunately I cannot help you, but I am working for a customer right now and he had the same problem. We suggest the same, export to excel and print it there. We now hope that BW in NW2004s has this web printing option as claimed in several papers.

Print Web report and don't print text but print frames

Hello , I am running a report by web browser, everything is ok and I can see that, now I want to print it so I put DESTYPE = printer and DESNAME =\\machine\printer then, when I print the report there is no mistakes but I dont know why I get a page without any character .. The frames print ok! all print ok but not the text, I test using diferent colors for the text but nothing .. could you help me please? this is really strange :( there is no message of error.

I have a very simple report that works fine
for example if I put this link:

Printing WAD reports

Hi,
I have some questions about printing web reports.
1) Is there an option to make sure that all colours are converted to black-grey-white (in a readable way)
2) What happens to big reports (multiple pages or are the reports resized)

Tom,
Re Printing in B & W, you can use a Print Style sheet in your template which will control your printing scheme.
There is a good white paper re Printing from the Web. Essentially when implemented will print the table with repeating headers on each page. You can add items into the Header / Footer such as logo's and page no's. Alternatively you can change font sizes within your Print Style sheet/
The on thing that these printing solutions does not overcome is the manual task of changing your Browsers page orientation to Landscape if required.

Convert a web report into pdf and print (in BW 3.5)

i have few web reports ( created using WAD). i am looking for a possibility to convert a web report (viewed in a browser by a user) into pdf and print them and this should be done by pressing a button.
Is it possible in BW 3.5 version?.

How to print sap bex query varaibles in webi report

Dear Friends,
I created a webi Report on universe ( Based on SAP BW Bex Query with variables).
its working fine. Now i want to show the selected variable values on the top of my webi report.
How can i access and print my bex query variables on header of my webi report.
We are using BOE 3.1 SP2, SAP BI 7.02.

That is default behavior of BO. The integration mapping from BI to BO will populates like that, COZ you made BI variable on top of Date dimension, which needs From and TO fields.
To display that info, what user has selected on the fly:
As suggested, use UserResponse() function.
keep in mind, prompt text and userresponse text must be identical. Otherwise, it wont't work.
Eg: prompt Text: Enetr From Date:
Var: =UserResponse(Enter From Date:) -->> Results: (Blank)
Why?? Prompt text Enetr not Enter

Direct Print a webi report, from InfoView

Hi,
I want to direct print a webi report after I open it with InfoView, but i don't know if it's possible.
Right now, when I open a webi report in InfoView I have a button saying "Print to PDF", which will open that report as a PDF document.
But I want to print directly to a printer and not to open the report in a pdf viewer.
Is there a way to have a direct print button in InfoView for webi documents ?

At this point it is not possible.
Here is SAP Notes which clearly state that SAP BOJ is aware of it and got several enhancement request and these requests are reviewed every six months. Since these requests require major changes in the software, SAP BOBJ has not given any time frame of availability of this feature.

WebI Report not printing correctly

Hi,
I've a WebI report for whcih the page layout is set as Letter and orientation set as Portrait. when I export this report and try printing it, the print preview shows that single report page is coming up in 2 pages while printing. however when I set the magrings as 0.25 for all the sides while printing the report appears good. Is there any wasy of superimposing these values in WebI report so that this is not needed to be done manually? Or is there any other methos to get it fixed?

Hi,
You can use, format table-> avoid page break(horizontally and vertically). Also at page setup toolbar,
you can set your pages to scale a certain number of pages. Just change "automatic" value to 1 page for horizontal and vertical page layout, and you won't get second pages.

Web Report not printing the fiscal year period variable value

Hi,
In web report where in one text element, we enabled the fiscal year period variable value to display
in the report result.
If we run the report then this fiscal year period is displaying in the general information.
We have print button (Java Code), where user can take a printout of the same report.
In the printout this Fiscal year period is NOT PRINTING, other variables like rollup time, technical name of report etc are printing perfectly.
It is required to print the fiscal period also in the print out of the report.
Any help to come out of this.....

Print button on Web report.

Hi gurus,
We were trying to add a print button on Web report for printing the result area on the Web report.
We followed the steps which has given in the How-to-guide How To Web Printing with Microsoft
Excel document.
In the document it has mentioned that
1. Support package should be above 19 for BW 3.5 version
2. Add HTML code in the WAD Template
3. Import Transport file into the System.
4. Apply OSS notes 736568 and 737082 to BW
We upgraded the support package to 22, added the html code in the WAD template, imported the transport file into the BW system and applied the OSS notes as per the mentioned in the document.
The transport file contains the Package u201CZPK_WEB_PRINTING_WITH_EXCELu201D and ABAP Classes u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_GRIDu201D,

After import the transport file into BW, some of the objects in the ABAP Classes were not activated. I was trying to activate manually but those were not activating.
Please guide me how to resolve the above issue or is there any way to get the printing the web report?

If you want to print the web page directly then you can define a button using Java script and you can do it.
Define java script code to print the page
for ex define a button and call function for print.
i cannot attach the code. but you can solve with java script

Unable to print crystal report over web using ActiveX Control

We have a problem with printing crystal report over web using ActiveX Control. When clicking print button, it only shows a blank dialog web crystal viewer page without any error. The page just simply hangs. We installed the PrintControl DLL and enable all the security setting for ActiveX Control for IE. It still does not print. Does anyone know why?
Environment.
Bundle Crystal Report v10
Asp.net 2.0
IE 6.0 or higher.
Appreciate for your help.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

Print Preview in web report problem

After Clicking Print buttonn on the web report, i select Print Preview from IE Explorer and here the variable values passed to the print function in web template, are getting displayed and actually it is part of URL , getting displayed in the Print Preview.
any ideas ..
i have already cleared the value of title and footer in page setup.
and this is a junk data in the header in the print preview
it will be something like this,
User%20ID:%xyz%20printed%20 etc...
actually i am passing below values to the print function,
&P_FOOTER_RIGHT='+SYUSER + '&P_HEADER_LEFT='+REPTXTLG +
'&P_FOOTER_LEFT=' +INFOCUBE

Do you use a field for coloring a column or cell?
If the coding is not too large it could be helpfull to post the coding as well.

Web printing crystal report hangs on report.PrintOptions.PrinterName

I have a report web page that displays a crystal report. I have added a modal popup to allow them to select their printers. When I go to print the report is hangs on the line of rpt.PrintOptions.PrinterName = li.Text. The printer names are added to the list box using a Java applet.
Here is the Sub it is running.

Sounds like you're trying to implement server side printing in your app. Which is fine, except the CR ActiveX print is client side printing. Just in case you're interested, the way to enable activeX print is to go to the property of the CR viewer and find "PrintMode". It will more than likely be defaulted to PDF. Change that to ActiveX.
Now, back to the issue. This may still be a matter of permissions - essentially what Adam was after. Probably the easiest way to determine that is to use the [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] utility. Once you have the log, search it for "Access Denied" messages.
