Printing what's on IPad screen through regular computer

Is there a way that I can hook my IPad up to my regular computer and print what's on my IPad screen through my regular computer?

If you have a Mac, Printopia would be worth a look. Fingerprint is another option that is available for both Mac OS X and Windows system. You could also consider an AirPrint-capable print server. Lantronix makes a couple of models, including one that supports a USB printer:
http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver-t2.html
As to printing the screen, the iPad has no direct printscreen feature, but you can take a screen shot:

and then either print that from your iPad or  transfer that to your computer for editing/printing.

  • I am trying to print a pdf document from an electronic journal at my school, and i can only get it to print what is on the screen at the time i hit print.  How do i get it to print the whole document?

how do i get it to print the whole article?  i don't seem to have a problem printing from my old windows laptop

when I clicked on your link and hit print, all pages were there!
That suggests there's no problem with Safari or Quartz, the PDF rendering engine used by Safari, Preview, and other Mac applications.
When I'm in the database and have the article open that I want to print, I click on the "full text in pdf" link and it opens in another safari window.
Does the PDF in this other Safari window have all the pages? If yes, why don't you print from this window?
It's very difficult to tell what might be going on if you don't give very specific details.
For instance, in many reference databases, full-text articles are not free. You have to pay to view them, either article by article, or by subscription. Your school may have such a subscription, but, if it does, you probably need to access the database through the portal, web site, or facility provided by your school (your school's librarian should be able to help you with that). If you don't, the database has no way of knowing you have a right to view the full text, and may give you just a preview or the article's first page.
Another possibility is that the database provides full-text PDFs in a format not compatible with Quartz, which may be able to render only the first page. But, in such a case, I'd expect Safari to print blank pages. If that's the case, you need to save the PDF on your hard disk and open it with Adobe Reader (Preview wouldn't work).
There are other possibilities, but these two seem to me the most likely.
Would I have to save it in preview first
You should save the PDF on your hard disk from Safari. (I think you should do this anyway, just in case you need to refer to the article again later.) Instead of just clicking the  "'full text in pdf' link", press and hold Control, then click. This should give you a contextual menu; if the link points to a PDF file, you should see the commans "Save Linked File to 'Downloads'" and "Save Linked File As…". Use either, save the file, then, in Finder, double-click on it. Preview should open it.
It is possible that the link is not to a PDF file, but to a script which fetches that PDF file for you. In that case, it's pointless to download it. Click on it, and then, if the PDF viewing window opens in Safari, move the cursor towards the centre of the bottom of the window. A bar with commands should appear; one of them will download the file to your Downloads folder.

  • TA26404 Can I burn an iDVD on a usb and watch it on a regular computer?

I needed to make a movie for school and it came out perfect. Can I burn it onto a USB and watch it on a regular computer?

No, you can burn it to a flash drive.  Burn it to a DVD disk and any computer that can play DVD videos will be able to play your DVD.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
What do you mean by a "regular" computer?  What are you using to create the iDVD project, an irregulary computer?

  • I have a new Epson wireless printer connected and the iPad recognizes it but it won't print. What is AirPrint and how do I connect it?

I have a new Epson wireless printer connected and the iPad recognizes it but it still won't print.  What is AirPrint & how do I connect to it?

    Patti-
Is your Epson printer on Apple's list of AirPrint capable printers?  See <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
If it is an AirPrint printer, then your WiFi router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  Contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update, that will make it work.
One other possibility is that there could be a print job stuck in the iPad's print queue.  Double click the iPad's Home button and a row of recent Apps will appear along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and see if the Print Center is there.

  • Trying to print from Safari to an HP photosmart 5514. Printer comes up on the iPad and iPad goes through the motions of sending to the printer yet nothing ever prints.

Trying to print from Safari to an HP Photosmart 5514. iPad sees the printer and goes through the motions of sending my print but nothing prints. I can print photos from my iPad but no e-mail or anything from Safari. Any suggestions?

    Dh11unit-
If there is a print job stuck in the print queue, double-click the iPad's Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and look for the Print Center icon.  If you find it, you should be able to delete the bad print job.
If the Print Center is not there, your print job probably did not proceed far enough.  It is possible your WiFi router does not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  If that is the case, you would need to contact your router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update that will fix the problem.
I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz.  It has limitations, but should get you printing.

  • My wife and i have an iPhone 5 6.1.2 firmware.. We both are having horrible wifi signals.  We have done everything we can.. What update will fix this? I get full bars on my iPad 2 through my whole house.. Be standing right beside the router with iPhone NO

My wife and i have an iPhone 5 6.1.2 firmware.. We both are having horrible wifi signals.  We have done everything we can.. What update will fix this? I get full bars on my iPad 2 through my whole house.. Be standing right beside the router with iPhones and it cuts in and out.. Drops from 3 wifi bars to 1

I am having the same problem with brand new Ipad Mini at my house.
It connects to the WiFi fine - but will not pull an IP address in DHCP mode, or if I set all the IP info statically - it still will not get any network access.
This doesn't look like a WiFi issue, as it does connect and is seen by the WiFi Access Point.  All the normal WiFi fix stuff doesn't help.
    - Using a Dlink DAP-2553 which is less than 2 months old.
Other devices connect fine, including Ipad 2.
This same Mini worked fine at another house and also connected to a mobile hotspot fine....so seems to be some weird IP issue with maybe this Access Point or maybe the older Router that I have (older Netgear)?
I am actually a network engineer and still have not been able to find a solution.  Both the Ipad Mini and the Dlink WAP have the latest firmware loaded.
Wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem.

  • My ipad screen has gone black but I can still touch the screen and unlock it and do things. I don't know what's wrong can someone help

My ipad screen has gone black and I don't know what to do the screen still works and I can still unlock it and I can still type. But I don't know what to do can anyone help me it will be much appreciated

If the reset doesn't do it then it's possible that the backlight or another part of your screen has broken. Unfortunately it's not really user servicible. I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. If your device is still under warranty and they don't determine that the damage was the result of 'abuse or neglect' (their words) then it could be a free replacement.
I'd just do a backup before you take it in, just in case.

  • How do you reactivate the grey utilities scroll up tab at the bottom of the screen that should reveal wifi, bluetooth etc? Doesn't matter what orientation the ipad is in, it won't scroll up from the bottom. All other screen functions work normally.

Doesn't matter what orientation the ipad is in, it won't scroll up from the bottom.

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

what does connecting iPad mini to my Mac Mini  through Bluetooth do

There is nothing else you can do as regards the Mac. Bluetooth between a Mac and an iOS device works only for tethering so you can share the iOS device's cell connection. Otherwise, Bluetooth in an iPad is for connecting to peripherals such as headsets, in-car systems, and keyboards.
