Printing Wirelessly on HP Printer

I have a Macbook computer and am attempting to connect to an Hp Laserjet 2600n Printer based on a windows computer. I can add the Laserjet to my list of printers but when I attempt to print wirelessly it wont let me. What can I do to fix this problem?

Hi,
I have a Laserjet 2600n, and print to it wirelessly from my MacBook. The Laserjet is plugged into a wired port on my Linksys WRT-54G.
Don't bother with the driver CD that comes with the printer, go to HP's web site to download the latest software. Also, be sure the firmware in the printer is up to date.
Go to the printer and print out the device information page to verify the printer has been assigned an IP address. If the printer is not configuring itself, you won't be able to get to the printer from the MacBook. If the printer isn't configuring, you may need to do some set-up work on your router, and that depends on what router you have; consult the router manual. In my case I assigned the printer a static address, so the printer will always have the same IP address, even after a power failure or unexpected router reboot.
Install the HP software on the MacBook, then go to the Control Panel, Print & Fax. Click the + sign to add a printer and search using Bonjour. It should find the printer and associate the correct PPD file, etc. I found I could not get the printer to install if I tried to configure manually, but Bonjour got it installed.

try disabling email scanning for incoming mail.
One of the last things that occurs is the mail server and Thunderbird sign off on "where we are up to" and Thunderbird stores this state information in the popstate.dat file in your profile (there is one in each POP mail account folder). If the anti virus, or you for that matter, end the conversation a few seconds early that hand off does not occur and the popstate is not stored.

  • Why can't I connect to my brother MFC-J4510DW printer wirelessly? The printer is connected to the router and I can surf the web. I wonder if some security setting may be keeping it from connecting to my MacBook Pro.

I can surf the web. My wife can print from her PC wirelessly on it.
I wonder if some security setting may be keeping it from connecting to my MacBook Pro. I've installed the software, firmware and driver updates but
    it still shows "off line"
with the printer power on. Any suggestions?

All I can suggest right now is back up first the try to reset the printing system, (all printers in the list will be removed).
Then connect directly to the printer via ethernet or to the Mac using USB and restart the efforts you have made up until now.
As for router settings, it's possible but not likely that your router only allows a small number of clients. It's also posible that you have MAC address filtering on, lastly are you using the correct wireless protocol, (802.11a/b/g WEP or WPA etc)?

  • HP Laserjet P1006 suddenly quit printing wirelessly - in between print jobs. Instantly.

    Hi -
I used to be able to print wirelessly from my macbook Pro (OSX 10.8.3) to my Laserjet P1006.
I can still print if I plug in via USB, but as soon as I unplug, the "print and scan" window says my printer is offline.
I was inbetween print jobs when suddenly the printer stopped allowing my computer to print wirelessly.  There was nothing I could see that would have set it off.
I have tried shutting everything down (computer and printer, even wireless router)  and turning back on.
I have tried telling computer not to remember printer... then connecting again with USB to get it to recognize as new.  That didn't work.
I tried to follow instructions for MAC and for this specific printer from a post someone else made, but the instructions said to hit utility from the "Open Print Queue" window and I didn't have that option.  It also said to look for Bonjour, I didnt' have that option.
    I'm frazzled.
How can I get my wireless connection back?

    Hi,
Teh Laserjet P1006 is a USB only printer and does not provide any wireless connection:

May you connected the pritner to a print server (a USB port of a router, etc.) in the past? yje specific model does not support any connection without using a USB.

  • Printing Wirelessly to a printer connected to a Windows computer.

    Hi,
First off, I know that this question has been asked a million times before, but I've read all of the other threads and haven't been able to find a solution that has worked for me yet. I've gotten it to work for my Windows laptop, but not for my MacBook.
    Anyway,
I am trying to connect my MacBook to a HP Deskjet F380. I have installed the driver software for the printer, however I still cannot seem to locate it over my wireless network. I would read the manual but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
If it helps, my wireless router is a Linksys wireless-G broadband router with a 4-port switch.

First - The driver from HP won't work. It is a USB-only driver. Either Gutenprint or hpijs will work:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpijs
Try to follow this - sorry it's for 10.4 but concept is still the same.

  • Unable to print from my desktop but I can print wirelessly from my tablet

I have an HP Officejet 4620 all-in-one wireless printer that worked fine until I switched from a Verizon to an Xfinity router. The printer is not communicating with my desktop [a Gateway], which is using Windows 7, however I can send things from my tablet [ipad] to the printer wirelessly and it prints no problem. I tried to troubleshoot but kept getting pop-ups and I just don't trust saying "Yes" to any of that crap, I've had so many problems with viruses through the years. can you help me please?

We switched from Verizon to Comcast and in the process of switching we lost the ability for my desktop to communicate with my wireless printer [HP 4620]. I could still print from my Ipad, but that was it. In my quest for help I went to the HP help center. I downloaded new drivers for both of my laptops and they were able to print wirelessly. I thought I would do the same for my desktop. But did not need to. I tried printing a document I was working on, and was very surprised when my printer responded. All is well! Thanks for the Forum. It's great to know this type of support is available.

  • MacBook no longer able to print wirelessly?

    Hello
I have an issue that I can't seem to come up with a reason for or a resolution. I apologize in advance for the length of this posting.
We have a Dell Laptop that is connected wirelessly to a Brother MFC-420CN printer. We have a Linksys Router. Previously, we'd also had been connected wirelessly to the same printer and our MacBook. The Mac was connected to the printer through an Internet/IPP connection, using the IP address. We had no trouble printing from the Mac.
On Christmas, the Mac stopped printing wirelessly to the printer. We got the message "Failed to connect to device." We tried re-installing, etc, and finally went out and bought a USB/printer cable and connected hardwire Mac to printer, and after that, it again printed wirelessly.
    Problem solved, right?
Now, its happened again, but we cannot get the Mac and the printer to talk to each other. Each time we try, we get the same message "Failed to connect to device" but nothing has changed! This has happened literally overnight, one night it prints wirelessly, the next day it doesn't. Even connecting hardwire between the Mac & printer does not help this time. We've tried everything we can think of.
No issues w/the PC and printer at all.
Additional info: The PC and the Mac are NOT networked w/each other. Also, when we enter in the original IP address under the Mac printer installation, it immediately identifies the printer as the MFC-420CN, however, this is NOT the same IP address as on the Linksys router, but if we put in the IP address on the router, it no longer recognizes the printer.Printer sharing is enabled on the PC, although it wasn't previously. We can print hardwire from the Mac. Finally, the router and the Mac work fine wirelessly for the internet.
We're literally at a loss. It worked fine, then overnight, it doesn't.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! I am a new Mac user so please bear with me!
Mac Book Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hello
We weren't using that method to add the printer, however, we did try using both the original IP address as well as the one we see when we open the router properties, and still no luck.
Does the printer have its on IP address? Separate from the router IP address? If so, how would we find it?
    Thanks

  • I can no longer print e-mails now that I've made my Brother printer wireless.

Until I added my Brother MFC-495CW to my home network so I could print wirelessly, I could print e-mails. Now I cannot using Mozilla Firefox. However, Word, Excel, Adobe, Internet Explorer will all print documents. The printer just sits there as if it's not even receiving a signal from Firefox, BUT the network strength is high.

How do I make my IPhone4 print wireless to  B209 printer  - works fine wireless
    to my MacBookPro

    Hey Scoobydo,
    1. You can download the HP ePrint Home & Biz app to your iPhone4 from the Apps store.
    2. Now install the app.
    3. Now you can pull up a document or a photo and select print.
    4. The App should see your printer if you are on the same network.

  • HT3500 Is it possible to connect via wi-fi a Windows 7 PC to a printer configured to print wirelessly using Macs?

We have three Macs and a PC using Windows 7 in our family. While the three Mac users are able to print wirelessly to the printer using an Airport Express, I haven't been able to figure out how to connect the PC to the printer. The printer is simply not seen by the PC on the same network. Is it possible to connect both a PC and a Mac to the same printer using w-fi?

Download and run the installer from there (just like installing any other program on Windows). Windows systems require this to be installed and bizarrely it doesn't auto-install along with AirPort Utility.

  • How do I Print Wireless from iMac G5 to Canon MP610?

    Hi,
I have an iMac G5 that is located on the main floor in our home. I connect to the internet from my iMac G5 wirelessly. (Our home has an AT&T DSL set-up).
The problem I am having has to do with printing from my iMac G5. The printer that I currently utilize is located UPSTAIRS in our home. I print wirelessly to the printer (Canon MP600) by utilizing Airport.
Recently, we bought another printer that is located on the same floor as my iMac G5. This printer is more convenient for me to access, however, the new printer is located in another room and it's connected to an IBM computer. I am wondering HOW to set it up so that I can print from my iMac G5 to the new printer (wirelessly), which is located on the same floor? By the way, both of my printers (the one that is UPSTAIRS and the one that is on the MAIN FLOOR) are Canon Printers.
    Thanks!

You need to have the one connected to the PC shared. Not sure if they still do but apple used to do a Windows version of Bonjour to make sharing over networks simple, you could try that.

  • Printing wirelessly with Airport Extreme

Hi, I have an Airport Extreme (not newest model) that I used to use with a PC and I could print wirelessly. Although one day it just stopped and I was never able to fix it. I've since given up on PC's and bought a new MacBook Pro (yea!). Unfortunately, I'm still having problems printing wirelessly. Its prints fine when connected. Can someone tell me how to first see if the laptop can "see" the the printer over the network and secondly how to fix it so that I can print wirelessly? Thanks.
Printer is: HP Photosmart 8150 and I'm using the latest drivers.

The setup manual for the AirPort Extreme suggests.....
Connect the printer to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme and make sure that everything is powered up
    On your Mac...
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
    Open Print & Fax
Click the small + button at the bottom of the printer list to add the new AirPort Extreme location
Hopefully, your printer will appear in the next window. If not, it may not likely be supported.
If yes, click the name of the printer to highlight it
Click Add at the lower right
    Try to print.
Remember to choose the correct printer location in the print dialog box as you now have the printer installed in two different locations....one at your Mac and the other at the AirPort Extreme.

  • Cannot connect and print wirelessly - HP Deskjet 3520

    Hey there,
I have a HP Deskjet 3520. It was working without a problem for a while. However after moving house and resetting everything I cannot print wirelessly with this printer.
It is connected to a network and the blue light is permanent, but when I try to print or scan wirelessly it says the printer is not detected/connected.
I've tried to connect using every method available i've seen every video and i've read every blog post. Please can you offer some help before a HP device is mentioned on the news for seriously injuring a passer by after being thrown out of a window?
    Thanks :-)

  • Cannot print wirelessly os x leopard to Epson cx8400

I have upgraded to leopard and I can no longer print wirelessly to this printer :Epson cx8400. I can print on the cx4800 at work, but not to this one at home. I CAN print usb to this printer. Help please???

You can't do that. Besides being illegal, the disks for Quad-Core are specific to the hardware in that box and will not work in another Mac as you are finding out.
