Printing Wirless

Hi this is my first post so I'm not sure if its the right place?
I'm having problems with my printer and internet which are both wireless but I can only connect to one at a time, so if I'm on the internet i have to change my network connection to the printer to print something, and then change it back to the internet to have access to the web again.
Is there any way that the two can connect to my macbook without changing the connection all the time?

I think you have setup your printer up as peer-to-peer ad-hoc network.
I suggest you ditch the ad-hoc network and use the wireless internet as your main network. You need to change the printer into infrastructure mode and then enter the network name of the wireless internet and password (if the network is encrypted). Make sure you use DHCP on the printer.

Do you have trouble connecting the printer to the network, and installing the printer network?

  • Epson bx525wd not printing wirless

I have just got a new mac book pro with mavrick installed and cannot use it wirelessley with the epson stylus office bx525wd or hp either ?????

    Hi..
You need to visit the Epson website and find v10.9 Mavericks compatible drivers > Epson Drivers & Downloads - Epson
Same for the HP > Epson Drivers & Downloads - Epson
When you have finished download the drivers, open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print then click + to add a printer.

  • Joined Icloud and now I cannot print wirlessly. Also included second verification sign in.

Help! suddenly, I have to join apps in order to print PDF's wirelessly from adobe.   Does joining I cloud , I tunes, cause all these problems? I am in a network, just for my self and my husband to print wirelessly from HP 4620 series printer.  Should I just discontinue the network connection for printing?

Perhaps the reason that your username and password are not recognised is because you have caps lock on.

  • Printing wirlessly, Windows 2000 to Airport and Bonjour not working

My set-up is as follows: Airport Extreme with printer sharing on and my printer is listed. 5 year old iMac connected to Airport Extreme via ethernet and running 10.3.9. Printer Sharing, Personal File Sharing, Internet and Windows Sharing is on and the iMac prints fine. PowerBook is connected wirelessly with an Airport card and is running the the latest Tiger. Again, Printer Sharing, Personal File Sharing, Internet Sharing and Windows Sharing, is on and my PowerBook prints fine. BTW, I'm printing through a HP 7200.
My wife has a 3-year-old IBM Thinkpad running Windows 2000 with a wireless card installed. She can join my Airport network and connect to the internet fine. Sharing is on. I've installed the HP software and it shows up in the Printers pane and I also right clicked and turned on sharing for this specific printer. I can select it and it prints fine if I hardwire the printer to the IBM's USB port.
When I installed Bonjour and the pain for available printers comes up non are listed (my wife has several printers in her Printer pane as it is a work machine and she sometimes has to bring it to work and print. At home she usually uses her own Lexmark but I want her to be able to use my printer as the Lexmark isn't that great). I've tried everything including re-installing Bonjour (yes, even the latest Bonjour) and even the HP printer software/drivers. Nothing seems to work.
And I thought Bonjour was supposed to be "seemless"?Any ideas would be much appreciated. I've been fiddling with this thing off and on for a few months now to no avail. Thanks in advance!

I appreciate your suggestions but I have a slightly
more complicated wireless network: I have an iMac G5
in my home office, and my daughter has a PC with
Windows 2000 in her room with a wireless card.
Internet comes through a DSL modem in my office into
an Airport Extreme that is networked with an Airport
Express in my daughter's room. The Express is
needed to boost the wireless signal to her room.
Move the Express to a position two thirds of the way from your Office to her room.
If the signal is weak when it arrives at the Express, it can't do anything to boost if if the computer is in the same room... It won't do anything.
If you move the AX to a position where it can receive a stronger signal it can then boost that stronger signal to an area which otherwise would receive a weak signal.
An AX can not improve a weak signal by itself, it needs to recieve a strong signal to begin with, all it does is increase the prospective range of the wireless network.
    You say
    her
computer can recognize, using Bonjour, an HP printer
    then you say
However, her computer neither sees the HP printer
Can she see or not see the printer?
I would move the AX as described and see if that makes a difference.

  • HP Office Jet 4500 G510n-z fails to print on wireless network

    Hi,
A while back my XP machine (Dell D620) stopped printing wirelessly with my officejet 4500 G510n-z. My Windows 7 D630 prints wirlessly with no problems. I have download the current HP drivers to no avail. I have looked at other posts but no workable solutions. The 4500 G510n-z appears as a printer but all print jobs end in an error. I cannot print a test page, notepad etc. All the jobs appear on the queue but they all error out. It seems to be an XP specific problem. I have XP pro version 2002 sevice pack 3. My network is just a Verizon Fios wireless router. In windows 7 I can see the actual address of the Hp wireless connection when the printer is added. In Xp I don't see the wireless address when I try to add the printer. Now it appears in the printer list on XP but 7 appears to see the actual wireless address and allows me to select it to add the printer. I have connected the XP machine to the printer and it would work for a while then stops working. Not sure what triggers the loss of connection. How can I specify the 4500 G510n-z connection for XP? I tried adding the IP address I see on my 7 machine but XP wants a server path that is //server etc  UNC path.
I went into the printer properties and changed the address to match the 7 ip address 192.168.1.3 XP 192.168.1.9 Windows 7 but no go still.
    Thanks

Thanks for all the help!.  After the reinstall the printer IP which now ends in .3 is the same for my XP and 7 machines. I tested  my  machines to be sure. Both are printing fine thanks to your help!

  • How do I make my hp J4580 printer print wirelessly from my mac 10.7.5 laptop

    Hi,
I would like to make my HP J4580 all in one printer wirless.  I have a mac 10.7.5 laptop.  I have read the other posts and it appears to be possible but I can't figure out how to do it.  One of the posts said you need an Ethernet cable, however, there is no place on the back of the J4580 printer to hook up an Ethernet cable.  I tried hooking up the USB cable that came with my printer to my new comcast modem that has wireless, however, that did not work.  I do have sharing on.
    1.  Is it possible?
    2.  If so, how exactly is it done?  Since I'm not that computer savvy, I do need step by step directions.
I copied this from one of your other posts.  The back of my computer is exactly the same.
    Thank you,
    HR

    Hi hrsre,
I understand you're wondering if you can make your Officejet J4580 printer work wirelessly or wired via Ethernet. I will certainly do my best to answer this for you.
The printer you have does not have any wireless capabilities. If an HP printer does not come with wireless capabilities there is no way to make it such. What I would recommend at this point if you're adamant that you have a wireless printer is to call HP Tech Support for your area and inquire about the out of warranty trade in and trade up program to see what sort of wireless printer they can get to you.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • 7525 Wirelessly connected, loses internet connection, will not print from wireless network

Have a 7525 Photosmart printer (approx 7 months in service) that has been working great until now.  I had to change the dsl/wireless router over the weekend and now I can't print wirlessly from the network.  According to the printer diagnostics, the printer is connected to the network but each time I try to print, the computer being used can't find the printer.  Checking the Wireless Network Test Results page, all is fine except there is no internet connection.  Restoring the internet connection requires a 're-boot' of the printer, i.e., switching it off and unplugging, after which network printing is restored.  However, that only lasts for a very short time, less than 1 minute, then no more network printing.
I think there is something fishy with the IP address.  HP Print and Scan Doctor can't find the printer using this address. Typing the IP address into the browser gets an error message that the page cannot be found.  That address should lead you to the printer page, but it does not.  Changing the router resulted in an IP address change for the printer, but I wasn't even able to manually set the IP address via HP troubleshooting as it required the ability to get to the printer page from the IP address.
I am rambling on, but I have reached my knowledge limit and hope that someone can give me some other suggestions on what to try next.    Thanks

Hi Seenders and welcome to the HP Forum,
I understand that you are having connection issues with the printer on the network. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. In this document for Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection are different solutions that may resolve your connections issues. Once you have the printer up on the network make sure you update the IP Address on your computer.
I hope this information is useful. Let me know how it works out.

  • HELP! Printing wirelessly!

Help! I have a mac book and i have the HP Photosmart Printer that should print wirlessly with my macbook. I don't know how to get it to do that though! I have an airport express. I connected the printer to the airport express, is that what I should be doing?? Still I get no option or any idea how to print wirlessly. helpp thanks!

Yes you should hook the printer to the Airport Express via the USB. Then on the MacBook go to Applications->Utilities->Airport Setup Assistant and open it up. Choose to setup a new system and it should see the AE. If it doesn't you may need to reset the AE. Do so by unplugging the USB and unplug it from the wall. There's a little button you need a paper clip or pen to depress and hold it in and plug it back in while still depressing the button. Wait until it flashes green 4 times. Then you can release the button and plug the USB back in.
Go back the the Setup Assistant and it should see a new access point. Choose it and configure it to print wirelessly. The AE should restart and you should be good to go.
Then try and print something. If you don't see the printer choose BonJour and that should find your printer.
See if that gets you along. If not post back.

    1)  What do I need to do to enable the HP 6310xi to print wirlessly from my home or work wireless networks?  Will connecting a router to the Ethernet port enable wireless printing, for example?  Or, is there some other solution?  If so, exactly what is it?
If you have the printer already setup as a USB connection, remove the USB cable at this point and uninstall the printer software from the computer. Connect the printer to your wireless router with an ethernet cable and reinstall the software for the appropriate operating system from the driver download page . During the reinstallation be sure to select Through the network as the connection type when prompted. If you want to print from multiple computers on your network you'll need to install the driver selecting Through the network  on each of them. While the printer does not have wireless capability built in, setting up the printer this way will enable you to print from wireless enabled computers on the same network as the printer. Page 29 of the printer's user guide provides detailed instructions for setting up the printer as a network device.
    2)  I downloaded the HP Cloud printing app for the iPad Air from the Apple Apps store.  The idea is to try to print from the iPad Air to the HP 6310xi via a USB port, for example, eventually wirelessly if at all possible (see #1 above).  However, the app does not work at all.  The Apple people say it is supposed to work, but have no solutions, probably due to lack of technical expertise.
You cannot print from a mobile device (smartphone, tablet) to the printer via a USB port. To print from a mobile device you will need a WiFi capable printer. If you want to be able to print remotely from a mobile device to a printer i.e. when the device and printer are not connected to the same WiFi network, you will need a web enabled wireless printer. This link is to the current range of HP wireless printers, the majority of which are also web enabled (the ePrint logo will indicate this).
Hope this information is useful to you.

    Hi,
According to your printer specs, your printer has USB connectivity only which means you won't be able to print wirlessly from your android tablet.
I've included a list of web connected printers here.

  • Conect printer to wi fi

I have a hp 5512 old printer. How do i connect it to my wi fi so i can print when i am upstairs.  I need detailed instructions. I am 68 not very computer smart

    Hi,
Are you trying to print wirlessly from a PC/laptop or a mobile device like a tablet or mobile phone?
To connect your printer to the wifi, you'll need to access the wifi connection menu on the front panel of the printer - scroll through the menus until you find one that says something like " wireless setup".
Once you find the wireless setup menu, you will need to find your wifi network and enter the wifi password. The network name and password are usually on the back of your wireless router.
Let me know how this goes for you.
