Printing with Border off centre

When i try to print a 4x6 print with a border the print module is putting the following minimum margins: L 0.35 R 0.32 T 0.28 B 0.53 so the rpint is off centre. I can't make these any smaller and making them all 0.53 looks to big. Any ideas it doesn't put the image centrally?
I tried resizing the image in PSE5 editor to exacly 4x6 but made no difference.

I tried borderless and it does set the margins to zero. However when I put in 0.2 cm and print it doesn't come out quite right. Looks fine on the LR preview. Cell dimension in LR are correct at 14.84x9.76 but actual print is 14.6 x 9.8 and sightly off centre (L 0.15 R 0.25).
This is much better than I was getting as had a look in the Canon print properties and under Page Layout in the Borderless section there is a slider "Amount of Extension". I set this to the left so the minimum and got a big improvement.
That's close enough to be usable at least tks Jao

  • Illustrator CS5 random thin lines in shape of a circle with an off-centred middle

    Hi there!
I need to create random thin lines in shape of a circle (similar to a dandelion), but with an off-centred middle.
    I hope this makes sense...
Here is a quick scribble of what I need:
I just can't figure it out, does anybody have any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Maria

wouldn't be a bad idea to use the flare tool:
you can only have 50 lines though. needs some expanding/ungrouping, and delete the extra circles.

  • Printer shifts artwork off centre

I have a PDF created from PS CS6 which is a Letterhead layout. The design has two lines (strokes) that run down the left side of the page. ( see image below )
Consequently I am wanting to print this to an 'HP Photosmart 7520' with borderless printing.
Unfortunately the result always appears to shift the artwork to the right subsequently the graphic strokes are shifted away from the left edge. ( see image below )
I have checked all the printer and acrobat settings and have tried printing;  'actual size' and 'fit' options but have no success. I have tried printing direct from PS but it is the same. I wonder if it could be a driver issue.
Any help on this would be much appreciated

its temporary fix/workaround, but have you thought of creating a custom paper size and tricking it into printing correctly?
or rotating the saved image upside down in reference then having a wide blue border that essentially gets cut off?

  • Printing with Airport off?

Is this normal? Or does turning Airport off only deactivate reception of wireless signals? Or do signals sent to the Extreme for printing not use Airport?

Some questions that might help people give you useful advice:
    - Is your printer connected to an AirPort base station?
    - When you say "AirPort off", do you mean that (1) your AirPort base station is powered off, (2) your computer's AirPort circuitry is off, (3) that you've disabled wireless operation of your AirPort base station, or (4) something else?
    - How does your computer communicate with your AirPort base station, by Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

  • Order prints with border through iPhoto

Is there a simple way to order prints through iPhoto's Kodak service and have them include a border?
It seems in order to use the iPhoto print order service you need to have 1 click ordering turned on which only give you a single option of "Buy".

The only way I've found is to use photos that have a border when viewed in iPhoto.
I have a way that isn't that easy for a one-time but it works if you order frequently. I use Pages from iWork '08:
    # Go to Page Setup in a Pages blank document and create a 4x6 (or whatever size you order) custom page.
    # In Page Setup, choose this to be your page
    # Drop in an image from the Media window and size it as you would like
    # Define the image as a placeholder from the Format> Advanced menu
    # Save this as the template for your photo
    # Next time you need a photo with a border, just choose the template
    # Drop a photo into the photo that exists on the template, the new photo will replace the one in the placeholder
    # Print, then in the Print dialog choose Print PDF to iPhoto
    # A photo with a border is placed in iPhoto. Order that one.
It's a pain for just a border, I know. But you can add text, graphics and inset photos and stuff to your Pages template and get a nice photo with custom artwork - at that point it's far less trouble than using the web-services that places offer.

  • 6x4 photos print with picture off the end of the page

HP Deskjet F2480 with Snow Leopard
I have tried to print 6x4 photos from iPhoto and the preview appears correct but the photo comes out with the top of the picture missing and a white band on the other end. I called HP and they suggested I uninstall and get the latest software which I have done but it has not made any difference.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hello,
Thanks for the post.  Great question!  I've been thinking about this one and a couple of things come to mind.  I've included a couple of links below that may assist.  One is loading the media, the other is for setting photo paper size, (in Windows) but you get the idea.  The odd part is that it appears correct in preview, which leads me to believe it's more hardware related (how the paper is loaded)   Close attention to the last paragraph.  Good Luck!

  • I cannot print a picture in Lr5 without a border, I have adjusted print settings to be "no border" and ticked zoom to fill on image settings but the layout margins wont go below 0.13 " leaving me with a 5.75 v 3.75 print (with border) instead of a 6 x 4

What a waste of space to paste the code.
Why not ask in the iLife > iPhoto forum where your question belongs.

  • My A4 centred document keeps printing out off centre.

I have an A4 Document which has everything centred, when i print out the document is off centre and I can't figure out why this is happening. I have tried exporting as pdf & jpgs and when i print those out they are off centre too. The actual InDesign document is aligned to the centre perfectly though!
    Help!

I just want to be clear about what "the same direction" means. After rotation the same elements are too close to the same edge of the page.
If that's true on all the prints, the problem is in the communication between ID and the printer (and that's not all that unusual with Ricoh printer drivers and ID). ID is not known for it's native printing, and it doesn't get along with some print drivers at all. Top of the list is HP, and Ricoh might be second. In such cases exporting PDF and printing from Acrobat is the suggested workaround. It disturbs me, though that you say the PDF also prints off center, which is why I think this is a printer problem.

  • Print problem - prints fine in photoshop and windows but direct from illustrator is off centre when printed.

when printing a full page image from illustrator the print is off centre and does not print the image in line with the paper. the same image prints just fine in photoshop and as a jpeg from windows own program. the positioning is zeroed in the dialouge box and the preview image shows how it should print, but it does not print as shown. please help.

    clarke,
What happens if you Save a Copy as PDF, then print from Acrobat or Reader?
If that helps, you may consider trying to (find and) use a PostScript (emulatin) printer driver to your printer, if possible.

  • My printer keeps going off line with my network. have to set everything up every few minutes.

After getting my HP photosmart 5510 all in one printer setup on my wireless network and setup for eprint, 2 problems occurred.  The printer keeps jumping off of the network, and I have to set everything back up again.  Also, even with eprint still completely set up, none of the emails that I send are printing out???
    Please Help

For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may help resolve your problems.
1.)    Completely shut down your printer and restart it
2.)    If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from completing.
If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to reattach to the cloud.
Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.

  • Chart Prints With a Border

I am using Crystal 11 over a Citrix connection. I have two pie charts in the report footer section, with one partially overlapping the other one.  I have it set up to show the pie of each chart, but only one legend.  When I print to two different local printers, the top-layered chart prints a border even though the border setting is set to none.  If I make the lower-layered chart the top chart, then IT prints with a border and the other one no longer has a border.  If I export the report as a .PDF and then print the .PDF, both charts print without a border as they should.  If I export as a Crystal Report and then print it using the Crystal Reports installed on my hard drive, both charts again print correctly.
I've tried putting a white border around the chart, but that didn't help.  If I put a non-white border around the chart, that border surrounds the border that shouldn't be appearing.  I've searched the web and this newsgroup, but haven't found any references to this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should have played with it a little bit longer.  While I wouldn't say it's working as designed there is a workaround.  I went into Chart -> Format Background... (which can also be accessed via right-clicking the chart).  The border was set to transparent, but the fill foreground color was set to white.  When I made the foreground color transparent as well, then the border disappeared when printing.  I'm not sure why a white background with a transparent border was making the border appear, but I am now getting the desired results.
Hopefully someone else will gain from this if they have a similar problem.

  • Excel 2013 Border Lines not printing with Windows 8

Hi. I have a problem with Excel files not printing the border lines of the cells in documents.
There are 3 laptops with Windows 8 64bit in our company now using Office 2013. Only today did they mention to me that the borders from only those Laptops are not printing. In the PrintPreview it shows them, but they dont print. From my work PC that's using
Windows 7 64bit and Office 2013 they do print.
I'fe printed the a PDF printer on thier PC's but it also prints without the borders. These files are automatically created in excel format by the software our comapany uses, every user recives he's file via email and can then print it or send it to customers.
The software does not display the title boxes correctly when using the default windows 8 theme (you cant see what you are typing, the background is black and the text aswell). To get past this we select High Contrast theme (thers no CLASSIC theme in windows
    8) and then tweak the settings a bit to get it as close to classic as possible.
Now it seems like when you use high contrast as a theme Excel does not print broders, I came across this on the internet whit other people also having this problem. Thers no solution that I found that I can implement on those three laptops. I cant change
the theme back if they wont be able to read what they type, and I dont know how to get the borders to print in every excel file they get in the future without having them to go through a whole process of changing settings everytime they need to print.

    Hi,
If you use Excel program to create a file, then print it, Does this issue still persist?
Also what happens if you change the borders style within Excel? for example, change the border line to thick.
Also it seems that  a similar topic has been discussed here:

  • Print with a black border to show page "edge"?

I'm printing a letter size document from illustrator at 50% size. All pages have a white background so I would like to have the document print with a black rule/ border around it so I can tell what it will look like. Is there a way to do this without manually putting a rule around all 25 existing artboards? Or is there a way to do this in the Acrobat pdf I'm outputting from this doc?(CS5) - many thanks!

  • My Oracle Support documents print with text cut off on the right margin

Just a question to check if more people have this issue. When I try to print a document from the knowledge base on My Oracle Support (MOS) it always prints with a lot of text being cut off on the right margin of the page. I tried this with different workstations, OS'es (XP Pro, W7), browsers (IE6, IE8), printers, etc. but it's always the same result. My only workaround is to copy all text and paste it into a text editor. I've logged a service request for this, but Oracle doesn't really seem to care about it and after pointing me to setting margins in Microsoft Publisher (???) and an article on how to export tables on MOS, they pointed to the HTML version of MOS (which has exactly the same issue by the way) and our local IS department for printing preferences. Apparently they cannot replicate this on their workstations, whereas I can replicate at will on a load of different workstations. I know that it's best not to print on paper and read on the screen, but even printing to a PDF writer will cut off text. Does anyone have the same issue with printing documents from MOS?

    Please identify your notebook/pc /printer.
Look at the base/rear/side of the notebook/pc/printer at the barcoded sticker.
Post item number 2 as seen on the following example of an HP notebook's barcoded sticker. The barcode on your HP product may be slightly different in appearance, but will still have the important information needed for us to help you.
###Do not post the serial number of your product as it is personal information.###
If your printer is a laser printer then simply go to print preferences and select grayscale printing
    Best regards,
