Printing with borders?

Hello forum,
I feel badly because I keep asking questions and am unable to answer any. Perhaps soon I shall find some ability to help.
So, I've got these business cards aligned on a template. Know that the digital file looks great - no borders whatsoever. Unfortunately, when I print, I get these 1px borders appearing for, as far as I can tell, no reason. In desperation I placed it in Microsoft Publisher instead and the borders still printed. Whatever the issue is it's not primarily an Adobe issue.
Things to know:
Each business card is actually one jpg a client sent. None of the material is editable.
Adobe Illustrator CS4 on Windows Vista, 64 bit.
Has happend before on different computers on different occasions with different files.
Attempting to cover the border up with another filled object doesn't work.
Here's a scan of the issue I'm describing.

This is driving me nuts. Any help would be great.

Not sure how the original file was attained as it was just sent to me from a client.
Here's the file I'm working with. As you can see, no border anywhere.

  • Tables without borders print with borders

    I have had trouble getting right-aligned graphics to print
    when I print my documentation. So I am inserting the graphics into
    tables, which eliminates that problem. My new problem is that,
    although I have configured the tables to have no cell borders and
    no table borders, they print with a thin border anyway.

    If you are defining the borders and shading in the Table
    Properties, you might want to consider also using the regular
    Borders and Shading menu option. They seem to both apply, and I've
    found it more reliable to set the "normal" borders than specific
    table borders.
    Hope that helps.

  • Borderless printing in Lightroom 5--Mac Yosemite, Canon i9900.  Selected 8.5x11 borderless media, but LR insists on printing with borders.  Tried adjusting cell size and margins, but LR won't allow setting to zero.

    LR won't allow me to adjust the margins below minimum values of about 0.25 in.  Borderless printing and 8.5x11 borderless media are selected.
    LR also won't allow me to increase the cell size.  It seems to have a maximum of 8x10.68.
    Aspect ratio of the image I'm trying to print is 8.5x11 so it should be a perfect fit.
    When I print the same image in Photoshop, it prints borderless just fine on the same printer.
    Mac, Yosemite, Canon i9900.

    I have had some more trials to print without boarders. This time, it was inside of iPhoto. I had made a greeting card and wanted to print to a custom size. but without the ability to select the size as a boarder less size, I was unable to print directly. So instead, I had to save as a pdf > save pdf to iPhoto and then print the image as a photo (instead of a card).

  • Aperture is printing  with borders even though the setting is off

    Has anyone had this problem? All of a sudden Aperture is printing a fine rule when I try to print to Super B size. When I print the images letter size, there is no frame. Also, if I print the same image in Photoshop, I don't get the frame. I tried trashing my preferences but that didn't help. Could it be that I need to trash the printer preferences? Any help would be appreciated. I am ready to toss my machine out the window!

    Hi,
    I can only speak of the R1900 setup, but this may be of assistance.
    If you select straight Super B from the paper size dialogue in Aperture, it doesn't give you the option for expanding the print in the printer dialogue that you get in the printer driver. BUT... if you select the "Super B Borderless sheet feed" paper size, the controls in the printer driver for expanded printing become available.
    Good luck - you may have already found this option. Bummer about not getting it right though - this A3+ paper is not cheap!!

  • Form ,Table with borders not printing in other Printers

    Hi All,
    I am trying to print a smartform with original language as Arabic .
    When I am taking a print out with Laser Jet printer , the table is coming with borders and everything is perfect .
    But when I am trying to take out print with other printers ,Table borders are not showing up .
    Please let me know the cause of this issue .

    Hi Joe,
    You can check with your SPAD configurations.
    SPAD->Device Type->Attributes Tab
    If its a dot matrix printer it won't print vertical lines. Different printers have different print margins. This could be also a reason as you are shifting different printer types  on the same smartform.

  • HTML Printing with JEditorPane table borders is missing...

    Hi,
    My application prints HTML reports that was rendered on a JEditorPane,
    actually the printing is working fine (almost)...
    After reading a lot of posts and the Printing API i've found a very god aproach to print HTML documents... the DocumentRenderer:
    http://www.fawcette.com/javapro/2002_12/online/print_kgauthier_12_10_02/
    I'm having a strange problem that I was unable to figure out by myself...
    Table borders and table background images never get printed...
    ex: <TABLE BORDER=1 ...
    <td background="image.gif" ...
    On the JEditorPane it shows just fine but, when the page is printed there's no border or table background pictures...
    Everything else is printed ok including images, small fonts, etc...
    Does anyone else had the same problem ?
    Thanks for any help

    The borders present an interesting problem created by the way the DocumentRenderer class finds for printable Views in the HTML. DocumentRenderer searches recursively down the tree of Views starting with the Document's root view looking for leaf views, those with no children. The DocumentRenderer only paints these smallest chunks of text to the printer graphics context. This usually works because leaf views do not usually contain anything paintable.
    The problem with borders is that they represent paintable areas of branch views, those with children. When we only print leaf views, these areas get ignored.
    I see two logical solotions to the problem:
    I. Change the code of the recursive printView method of Document Renderer to print any border that intersects with the current printable clip rectangle.
    II. A much more elegant solution would be to print any view, branch or leaf, that fits within the current printable area, and cease the recursion there. This would include the borders.
    It would also increase efficiency by terminating the recursive method earlier by painting larger chunks of the HTML. A strange problem pops up when I try this, however. When the size of the chunk to be printed gets too big, nothing is printed at all. In the article this is mentioned in the area of large images. "Lastly, large icons do not print. Java simply refuses to render them on the page. Small icons work quite well, however." The same holds true for any large View.
    I have not been able to quantify the exact size where this failure occurs, nor what is causing it. If anyone can tell me what causes this problem, it should be fairly easy, depenging on the cause of the problem, to rewrite the class to print borders and also does lots of other good stuff. I have already coded the new and improved printView method, but this size limitation has made it unworkable.
    Simply stated, if I can figure out why the class does not print large icons, the rest should be easy.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kei Gauthier

    JimHess~  Many thanks.  In my short history with LR, it's amazing how many people I've seen ask this question.  I'm nearly embarrassed at how simple the fix was, but grateful that you didn't dismiss such a basic question.  You made my week.  And my friend's photo album...

  • Duplex printing with officejet pro 8000

    I am using this officejet pro 8000 to print up some newsletters.  When printing a two sided copy (duplex printing) something happens which changes my border setting.  Printing the exact same document, but electing one-sided copy renders a perfect border.  I would not have a problem copying just one side, then re-loading those in order to make two-sided copies, but the friction caused by the ink on the pages causes mulitple sheets to feed at the same time, jamming the printer.  Has HP ever come up with a fix for this?  I have seen this problem on the net, but the best folks have done (that I have seen) is to upload drivers for older machines.  This has rendered good borders on duplex prints, but diminishes the quality of the print copy.  Whatcha think?

    Since updating to Snow Leopard, I have had serious problems duplexing. Under the print dialogue window, there is no option to duplex. H.P. blames Mac. Mac blames H.P. I can duplex by going to "layout" and where it says "duplexing off" selecting "long-edge binding" will work. How dumb. Mac Help senior customized my settings by adding "duplex printing" to the "Presets" list.
    Are you using the latest drivers from HP? If I set up a printer with the HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 Series PPD, I can see Two-Sided to the right of Collated if the HP Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer) is checked in the Print & Fax -> Options & Supplies -> Driver tab. If this is not checked, Two-Sided won't appear.
    MAC HAS TO CREATE A PATCH TO SIMPLIFY THIS SNOW LEOPARD ERROR!
    Apple doesn't write the HP software.
    Hope this helps.

    Tried adding borders in custom setup to see if by chance it would make a difference but unfortunately it didn't make any difference.
    I believe that the problem is connected to the profiles. I know that a problem exists with the combination of computer OS, printer and PS CS4 which is addressed on luminouslandscape.com
    http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/solving.shtml
    This work around allows for printing without a profile but does not allow for printing with a custom profile assigned.
    I can print the exact same file with the settings I normally use using CS3 and it prints perfectly. I know it is also not the file itself, the same
    happens with any file sent to the printer using PS CS4.
    Of interest as well, Illustrator 4, Indesign 4 all also print without a problem.
    So now what exactly is your problem? Not being able to print from PSCS4 or double profiling when you do print?

  • Print with lr5 vs lr3

    Recently upgraded to lr5, now when I print a custom package it prints unwanted borders and cut of portions of images.
    Printing in lr5 to Canon Pro9000 MarkII, custom package using 8.5x11 paper with 5 different size cells.  Each cell is adjacent to outside edge.  Paper is set up to print borderless via "Print Settings and Page Setup" and 0 margins in lr. When print is complete there is about an 1/8 inch border all around entire 8.5x11 sheet and the images are significantly chopped.
    FYI no borders show when looking at the print view/module in lr and the edges of the sheet show 8.5x11 in accordance to  ruler/guides.
    When I perform the exact same print with exact same settings and images in lr3 it prints with no border and no cutting of images.
    Any ideas???

    Sorry for the late response.  I have not yet tried a new driver from canon, but I will  as soon as I get a chance.  I am a little sceptic about it being a canon driver issue as I believe the drivers are written to work properly with OS releases and not necessarily 3rd party software applications such as lightroom, and like I said lr3 works just fine today with the current driver.
    Just to be clear I agree with Rikk that it appears that lr5 is having issues telling the canon driver how it wants the image printed on borderless paper which obviously seams likely that it could be a driver issue. So it would be silly for me not to try reinstalling a fresh driver straight from canons site.
    Work Around... Currently to combat this issue this is what I am doing.  I set the page to be 8.5x11 with ".12" margins (not borderless) then I set up my cells and place them as far against the edge of the borders (that lightroom is showing on screen) so that I can get the images to fit and arranged properly then print.  This works flawlessly (when printing with a bordered paper setup), all images print in cells with no obvious cropping.
    Another approach that I could us as a work around is to use lr3 but hey I paid for lr5 so this will work for now, unless I can determine the cause.
    I will update this post if I get a chance to reinstall driver.

  • Printing with jdk1.1.8

    Hi...I am developing an application for mac(classic) where i need to provide the print functionility.Now Mac supports only upto jdk1.1.8.Has someove ever developed printing with this...code will definetly help.........

    You should start with java.awt.Toolkit.getPrintJob(java.awt.Frame, java.lang.String, java.util.Properties)
    to obtain a PrintJob.
    From the PrintJob object you can get a Graphic by using the Method getGraphics().
    On you first try, produce the Output for the page in some visible AWT component, so you can see it.
    E.g. put your stuff in a panel and add this panel to a Window.
    Then print the Top-Level Component ( thats the panel) that contains your Output by
    calling printAll(Graphics g) on it, with the Graphics object from above.
    Notes:
    You have to take care for Printer borders - your output will be clipped there.
    Code was tested on JDK 1.3, but is designed for JDK 1.1
    Example: Test.java
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    public class Test {
    static Frame f;
    static Panel panelToPrint;
    static class Handler implements ActionListener {
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    //get a PrintJob (opens the native window)
    PrintJob pj = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getPrintJob(f, "Print-Test", null);
    //get a graphics object to draw on
    Graphics g = pj.getGraphics();
    panelToPrint.printAll( g );
    //end the print job, now it is sent to the printer
    pj.end();
    f.dispose();
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    f = new Frame("Test");
    Button b = new Button("Print...");
    b.addActionListener(new Handler());
    f.add(b,"South");
    panelToPrint = new Panel();
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    panelToPrint.add(new Label("Hello World"));
    f.add(panelToPrint, "Center");
    f.setSize(new Dimension(300,400));
    f.setVisible(true);

  • Print with 10.9 on Canon CLC 11xx Via ColorPass Z800?

    I would like to ask if above is possible?
    (Because of difficulties printing with 10.6.8,
    the white borders around the printed areas went big,
    I went back to 10.6.6
    Today my iPad doesn't join 10.6.6 anymore
    that is why I would like to install 10.9.)
    Thank you

    There is no driver for the Z800 for 10.9. But I'm pretty sure there wasn't one for 10.6 either, so you were either using the Generic Postscript driver, which would explain the large margins, or a driver for some other model of ColorPASS (or Fiery).
    EFI does have a generic driver called Fiery Express which you can download from EFI. Note that you will have to register first to be able to access any driver.

  • Photoshop elements 12 prints asymmetical borders instead of borderless photo

    Photoshop elements prints asymetrical borders on the sides of photos I am trying to print.  I have printed several (more than 20) photos with no borders with no problem, when suddenly I began getting photos with asymetical borders on the sides of the printed photo.  It looks fine in print preview but prints with these borders.  I have printed a photo with another program and this does not happen.  I have checked my settings and nothing appears to have changed.  I really need help with this.

    In the print dialog, under "Select Paper Size", check again to be sure that the borderless option for your paper stock is selected.
    Are the picture files accurately sized/cropped to conform to the paper size, e.g.. 4x6 image for 4x6 paper?
