Printing with ColorSync Problems!

I cannot seem to print anything with Aperture using ColorSync for color management. I have set my monitor to Cinema display calibrated (yes, I have) and I set all the epson stylus photo 1800 settings, choosing ColorSync for color management, but my prints come out like darkened mud.
If I print with photoshop I get great prints, if I print with Preview and ColorSync I get reasonably good prints.
Any ideas?

I figured out, after a while, that in the print settings window of Aperture you must set the color settings in 2 places. In the printer settings, as one would expect. But then there is a second drop down menu below the printer settings where you must set the printer/paper profile match that you want.
Once I figured that out, I am getting consistently more accurate color matches to what I see onscreen than I was in Photoshop.
(I use a 20" Apple Cinema Display with Monaco Optix color calibration)

How can I print with ColorSync Utility

When I receive an attachment via entourage,it automatically opens in ColorSync utility. I want to print so I go to the 'File' menu and I cannot print because the print option is "greyed out". Can anyone tell me how I can resolve this so that I can print e-mail attachments?

1. Drag it to the Preview Icon
To make Preview the Default for jpegs:
Select a Jpeg in the Finder
Go file -> Get Info
Look for the 'Open With' pane in the resultng Window. Select Preview from the DropDown and click the Change All button

Printing with slices problem...

Hi,
I've designed an site www.priestnallcourt.co.uk for my
girlfriends workplace. Problem is someone has brought to my
attention when you do print it comes out messed up. I did print
preview and can see its a mess, I think the problem is because I
designed the site in photoshop which added slices to the page. If I
was to redo all the slices it would take me ages is there an easy
solution to this? I've seen some stuff about style sheets but not
sure if this would be the right solution for me?
Any help would be great!!!

The site likely won't print nicely no matter what you do as
there isn't any
actual text on the site but a bunch of images instead, so a
print-out will
always be a bit lacking in that it's printing low resolution
images rather
than text.
As for the print preview issue, it seems to be a IE
issue...which is no
surprise.
Short of a redesign, I guess you could put a DIV on the page
and put all the
text inside that. Position that DIV off-screen in your
regular CSS and then
make a print CSS file that does the opposite...hides the
images off-screen
and shows the DIV with the actual text on it instead.

I cannot print from my iPad using airport express. My printer is not AirPrint compatible but is connected to airport express thru USB port. My laptop can print with no problem thru the express unit. My lap top is no a mac.

I have read about different software that you can download but this seems to be only if you are using a mac. I know my express is working fine as I can use airplay thru my iPad. Any ideas? I do not want to go to the expense of changing my printer, when there was no mention in the express details that your printer had to be AirPrint compatible or indeed wireless.

Wireless network with 2 computers and an HP J4680 printer with Connection problem

I have two computers. Each of them has been connected to the HP Officejet J4680. I can "ping" the printer from both computers and get a response. I can print documents to the printer from one computer (A), but not the other (B). Each computer is using the same IP address and Port 192.168.1.3 HP_192.168.1.3_CN95L981CS052X for the wireless printer.
Today I learned that if both computers are turned on, I can print from computer B, using the printer's profile stored in computer A.
I have reinstalled the printer driver numerous times. I have reconnect the printer to the network. The troubleshooter software provided by HP was not able to determine why computer B will not recognize the wireless printer.
I do not want to always have both computers on to print to the wireless printer.

Sounds like this could be an issue with the software. To start I want to be sure that we remove the software fully and correcty before we continue. Follow the instructions below and see what happens after.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
find and install the FULL FEATURE SOFTWARE if it is available :

Firefox 3.6.3 will not print a full web page. IE will print with no problem.

Firefox won't print a full web page. When I check the print preview, it only shows what will print and the whole page is not displayed. I tried resetting my printer in about:config and that never helped.
I am stumped and need help to resolve this please.

Can't print with PC but can print with Mac!?

I'm trying to turn my USB printer into wireless and have tried EVERYTHING and put in HOURS of work with all different types of print servers, devices, etc.
I bought an Airport Express and loaded Bonjour into my Windows 8 machine. It detects my printer, connects to my Express but simply doesn't print! I've tried EVERYTHING with editing my ports, changing it to LPR instead of RAW, etc. but with no sucess. When I connected my MacBook to my Express, IT PRINTS with no problems!!!
I can't for the life of me figure it out and my Windows machine needs to be able to print as I'm using it for work.
Any suggestions, tips, clues as to what I'm doing wrong? Apple Care and bringing it into a store gets me nowhere. Please help! I will pay someone $50 dollars via PayPal as your reward for helping me figure this mind boggling problem out!

USB printers are a pain.. it might not work at all from windows.. that is just the reality.
USB printers are local printers that plug into your computer.. save your $50.. and the cost of the next couple of sets of ink cartridges or toners and go and buy a network printer. ie one that is designed to work in a network.
If you want to pursue this..
1. How did you name the Express.. and its wireless?
Names should all be short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
2. What printer is it? If you plug it in via USB to the computer does it work?
3. Once you have it working plugged into the computer change it to print to IP of the airport express and see if that works.
You can do this without bonjour..

It is windows 7 but 8 should be much harder .. naturally MS took away the easy access to everything .. but it is still there for the most part.

Cannot Use Printer with my Photoshop CS5. Error Message.

I am encountering a problem that I never have before. When Click on File>Print I get this error message: "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents."
This happened suddenly. I had been printing with no problem just a few minutes prior. I did nothing unusual that I can recall to have caused this error message. I am using a Mac Pro using OS 10.9.5.

Same old...no printer with Maverick?

I have two Brother printers. My applications see both. A tiny hint might be that they are both listed as Generic Postscript printers. Neither prints and only teases that they might. My Print Queue says "Job Pending on Server." I deleted the previous job that stopped at this point, Downloaded new drivers from Brother that are specifically for 10.9.1, installed them, restarted both iMac (brand new) and printer and invoked 'Print' again with the same outcome. "Job pending on server.' There are no other jobs waiting in queue. To further this dilemma, the new iMac is set up to share the printer with another iMac on our network. The other Mac sees the printers also, but nothing happens. When I asked the iMac to give me an update on the 'supplies' for the Brother and 'that information is not available' which suggests that the iMac and printer are somehow avoiding a critical handshake of some kind.
Oh, and as with all the other problems associated with Maverick, the replaced iMac printed with no problems and shared the printers with no problems.
Everything has been updated through software update. Oh, yeah...the printers run through an Airport Extreme.
Since the problem seems to be across manfacturers, has anyone been able to narrow the possible problem?

I have not solved my Brother/Mavericks printing problem - which is "printer in not connected" message.

Brother DCP 8045D
Deleted Brother printer and Brother folder in Library/Printers
Reinstalled latest Brother print drivers.
Added the printer back.
Still having same issues.
Has to be Mavericks 10.9.1 update; printing is different as Brother was always reliable in 10.9

PDF printer has a problem with Safari in "Reader" mode in Windows7

As shown in the image above. When I try to use the PDF printer to print out a web page in Safari "Reader" mode, the lines near the bottom of each page get squeezed like this. There is no problem with XPS printer. I guess this problem is because of some incorrect settings in Safari or the PDF printer?
My system is Windows 7 Pro. I am using Acrobat X Pro. The page I am trying to print is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_band_structure. This problem only happens when the webpage is adjusted into "Reader" mode in Safari.

I am sorry, I did not make my question clear. I would like to save some web pages only in "Reader" mode, because in this mode all the advertisements are filtered out and the pages look much nicer than the origional layout.
I first let Safari to active "Reader" by clicking "Reader" button.
Then I click "Print" button and select Adobe PDF as the printer.
The problem is the PDF file has something wrong (shown above), and I would like to know how to avoid this problem.

Could be a lot of reasons. First try to print a supplies status page- If that prints with color on it, you have a driver problem.

Printing problem when PDF is sent to the printer with certain fonts - missing text

I'm running into a printing problem when PDFs containing certain characters of the Calibri font are used. The text in large sections of the PDF is missing on the paper version, but the text is there on the screen. It's also happened when the PDFs we created were e-mailed out to a client and printed on their printer. The problem is not present when printing directly from the programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, etc.). I've been trying to get tech support from Adobe on this, but every time I call they apologize and say they will call back in 4-6 hours with an answer. Same result each time, no call back. If anyone from Adobe is listening, it's case number 184891587. The font appears as an embedded subset when I look at the document properties. Sometimes deleting one or two Characters allows for larger text blocks to be printed - i.e. removing a long dash in bold from the heading of a paragraph makes the paragraph reappear when printed to paper from PDF. In all cases the PDF appears correct on the screen. Printing as an image allows the text to appear, but the image quality isn't acceptable for small text, even at the 600 dpi setting on the printer. If the PDF is sent out by e-mail, we do not have control over the end-user's printer setup anyway, so we need this to work in all cases.
The setup/process I'm using is as follows:
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-Bit
Microsoft Office 2013 - problem is present when printing documents from Word, Excel or Visio. Even other variations on documents.
I've tried Acrobat versions 11.0.0 to 11.0.5 as well as Acrobat Pro 11.0.0 and 11.0.1. Same Result

I print to the wide-format Ricoh (which also does 11x17) and the text is present.
Is there something I'm missing? Is the entire font not getting embedded into the PDF file? I noticed that rolling back to a much older version of the Calibri font (1.02 compared to 5.72) makes the problem mostly go away, but it's not completely gone. Is it possible the font is too large to be completely embedded? Where can I go from here?

Success! At least for now. It looks like my problem was fixed with Adobe's most recent update, 11.0.06. From the release notes:

I don't know if that's definately what solved the problem, but it sure sounds similar and this is the update that made the printing problem go away. We can't get the PDFs to fail at this point with our printers, even with Calibri 5.72. I'll come back to thread if we have printing problems at the end-user locations.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

Let me give you a slightly different perspective than everyone else here. You are using an unsecured wireless network, which means that all your network traffic is easily available for viewing by anyone else using that network. That's bad. Very bad, for you, unless you absolutely trust everyone who lives within range of this network. So stop doing it.
As to the Mac not connecting, wireless networking is simply too complex for any reasonable answer without more information. There are many possible error points, and as often as not it's the Mac that can connect and the Windows PC that cannot. Since you can't give us any information about the configuration of the neighbor's network, and can't make any changes to it, we can't do much to help you troubleshoot it.
