Shift-Option 4 with allow you to capture a portion of the screen (the area you want to print) with the mouse.
Shift-Cmd 4 lets you select a portion of the screen
Shift-Cmd 3 takes the entire screen (no selection necessary)
There is a "hidden" setting accessible from the command line ("defaults" command) to change the default screenshot format from png to pdf. Since I always forget the command, I use the free TinkerTool to access/change that setting and others. Screenshot format is found in TinkerTool under "General".

  • How can I print the "current view" of my pdf

I am trying to print a magnified image on a pdf document (the current view).  How can I do this?

    Hi lucysue,
Screen magnification is a bit different from print magnification. To print an image larger than the original dimensions, you need to set the scaling option in the Print dialog box (provided that your printer supports scaling).

  • Setting up new printer with currently inactive AirPort Extreme

Is it possible to share a printer with 4 laptops using an Airport Extreme while another router provides the internet?
    Here's what I have:
    - Linksys WRT54GS wireless G router (in use)
    - AirPort Extreme (older & not currently in use)
    - MacBook Pro (running OS 10.5.3)
    - 3 Dell XPS m1710 laptops (running Windows XP)
    - Old Dell Dimension (running Fedora Linux)
    - Dell 1110 printer
    - Canon i80 printer (w/ Bluetooth adapter)
    - HP Photosmart printer
I want to be able to print with the Dell 1110 printer from any laptop. I looked to connect it to the Linksys router but the router does not have a USB slot - the AirPort Extreme does. Is this a possibility?
Also, the Linksys router MUST stay. I'm sure many will suggest dropping it in favor of the AirPort extreme but this is not a possibility.
    Thank you =)

Thanks for the help, I'm definitely getting there
I changed the settings as you've described and can now print from my MBP. The 3 Dell laptops are another matter. Would you have any idea what the IP address of the printer would be? Or the AirPort Extreme? I'm following this tutorial:
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1004.html
without much success but I'm really guessing at the IP address. I've tried 192.168.1.1 (my router) and 192.168.1.101 (the IPv4 address) with no luck. I suspect it's the IP address that's the problem ...
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

  • Inconsistency and problems printing with Crystal Viewer

I'm printing from the Crystal Viewer based on the Crystal Reports Runtime 11.5 (R2) distribution.   the viewer is being instantiated from a .NET web application.   the report has been developed in Visual Studio 2005.
when I print from my development computer (with VS designer plug-in) the output to the printer is as expected.   however, when printing from any of my production client machines (no designer installed) the output is offset and any text at the top of the report is cropped such that only the lower half of the text is printed.    in either case the output is rendered correctly in the viewer prior to sending it to the printer.
the printer is being served from a central network server, hence the driver is the same regardless of the client machine.   I'm thinking there must be a difference in the CR components in either environment.
note I've also tried printing a test using other applications and no problem exists, only when printing from the CR viewer.
any info would be much appreciated.
    vaderr.

    May be that the worker process is not seeing the printer driver the report wants to use, so another printer driver is substituted. One way to test this is to insert these lines of code;
    Dim myPrinter As String
    For Each myPrinter In System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters
        Response.Write(myPrinter)
        Response.Write("<BR>")
    Next
Is the printer driver you are trying to use visible to the process?
Another thing to try is to set the option "No Printer" (File | Page Setup).

  • Print "Current View" not avail in Acro 9

I am trying to print a selected area on the page.  In prior versions, I could zoom in on the area, click print and then choose "Current view" under print range.  In Acrobat 9, I don't have "Current View", but I do have "Selected Pages".
Is there a way to print the current view short of extracting the page, cropping it then printing it?
The online help page at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/9.0/Standard/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7bde. w.html says it should be there, but it is not.

    Bernd,
Just closing the "Pages" navigation panel does not do it.  What I figured out was that if a page is preselected in the "Pages" navigation panel, then I get "Selected Pages" in the print range. I get that even with the navigation panel closed.
In order to get "Current View", I have to click off of the page in the navigation panel so that no page is preselected. Now I can print what is shown in the graphics window.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to set Print...More Options...Current View in ActiveX control?

I am using Visual Studio 2012 to develop an application that will open large PDFs (24" x 36") and allow the user to zoom to a particular part of the document. I want to give them a Print button on my application to simply print the Current View of the document to the default printer. I want limited customer options, so no showing the Print Dialog, etc... This will be for general customer use. I am trying to do this with the Acrobat Reader ActiveX control. If this cannot be done with the ActiveX control, I thins something I could do with the full Acrobat SDK? Thanks!

The Reader control actually does what I want pretty well. I set the mouse wheel to allow zooming, the hand tool to drag the document around works easy and fast. I just need to turn off some of the Acrobat Toolbar options and set this Print Current View option.
This is frustrating as back in Acrobat Reader 7 or 8 I think, you could set the Current View in the Print Dialog and the setting would stay until it was specifically changed. Now it reverts per print job, thus I now having to code against the Reader control, or other, to get around it, to keep the user from having to set this option each time (and the user will change frequently as they are walk-in customers)
Anyway with this additional list of requirements, do you thihnk I still cannot do it with the Reader ActiveX control? If not, and I need to use the SDK, do you mean I would have to buy a full copy of Adobe Acrobat and install on that system for the application to work? If so, do I also need to buy another full copy of Adobe Acrobat for my development system so I can write code and test the application? If I need a full copy for the Dev computer, does Adobe have any kind of reduced pricing for a Dev version?
    Thanks!

  • Need Help with Crystal viewer and ActiveX

    Hi !!
I have a problem that i cant seem to be able to solve. I had alot of help from the forum but i think i got everything mixtup now...
From my addon i can print with CrystalReport Viewer or i cant print a Crystal report directly to my default printer, so thats good and working well. The problem is with Crystal Viewer that drags on the SBO screen and stays on the task bar.
It is strongly recommended to use an Activex to display my Crystal Viewer report. I tried so many differrent ways allways ending up with class id errors, or private class errors.
    My report is called c:\report.rpt
My Working CrystalViewer form is called 'frmCRV'
Can some one help me thru this last step...  I tried with the Activex sample in SDK but i think i dont have to use the Tree function ??? am i right ??
    I'm running on SBO 2005 SP1 PL3
Crystal Report .net V10 and .net for code.
Thanks you all for your patience.

    Hi Again !
I can now open a form with an Activex part but i cant pass my CrystalViewer in it. Always says specified cast not valid.
    Thanks

  • Adobe reader print current view and snapshot tool inoperable

Print current view is inoperable in part of the document snapshot tool is inoperable in all of the document, why?
I am trying to print a two page pdf in larger print and can't figure out how to do it.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooook.  I tried that, but Adobe reader froze so hard, I had to do a hard boot.  Don't ever start Adobe Reader then go to straight to "help". When I exited help,  I got a red screen which had "legal notices" and "credits".  Clicking on either of those worked.  When I tried to exit, I just got a beep.  When I tried to close with the task manager it said that the program was locked and could not be closed.  When I tried to soft re-boot my whole system froze.  Only a hard boot got me out of the frozen Adobe reader.
Now back to the task at hand.  Fit does nothing.  To make the document readable, I have to zoom to 125%, but zoom does not influence type size except in "current view", To print a two page document, I have to do 26 "current views".  I NEED the snapshot tool, why is it inoperable?

  • Printing Current View in Acrobat 11

Just "upgraded" to Acrobat 11 from 8. Can't seem to print "current view" form the print dialog box and yes I have clicked on the more options box and it's not there as well.

    Can you post a screenshot?

  • Print current view greyed out in Acrobat 9.4.1

I can't select Print current view for some reason.  I tried selecting different printers but am unable to select this option.  I saw an earlier post that said take the cursor off of page navigation, but I've done that (and don't even have page navigation open) but still cannot select "current view" print.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

I figured out that if I zoom to an area 1 page or smaller the "current view" print is available.
What I'm trying to do is print the bottom 1/3 of one page and the top 1/2 of the next page.  Apparently if the view spans 2 or more pages the current view print option is unavailable.
Is there a way to do what I want (print 1/2 of the bottom of page 2 and top 1/2 of page 3)?

  • Current View option in  the Print dialog box

I have a PDF file, approximately 55 pages that is comrpised of 50+ .jpg images that were combined into a single PDF file. The images are various size screenshots from Facebook.
I need to be able to print the entire file at 75% magnification in order for every page to be readable.  Only way in Adobe’s print dialog box that I can find to do so is select one page at a time, select “Current View” and then print.
When "All" is selected under Print Range in the Print Dialog box, the pages print at different magnifications, most below 10% and unreadable.
Is there a way to get the entire document to print in the “Current View” setting or at a specified magnification?
I’m using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    duh...
Figured out I had to tweak it in the "copies and Pages"

  • Alternatives to the current view with BPC for Word?

Has anyone been able to use something other than the current view to retrieve data using BPC for Word?
The documentation and training just shows how to use the current view and does not mention any other method to alter or preset the dimension member values.
Is there any functionality to retrieve data besides the current view?

To retrieve data you are using a function like evget for example.
Evget is using the curentview if no parameters are specified or it is using the parameters if you provide some of them.
So I don't see any problem to specify parameters to get data into word. It is no diference between the functtions used into word or webexcel.

  • Help with CR Viewer XI

    Post Author: Lee XI
    CA Forum: General
Hello all. I'm currently using CR XI (not server) and downloaded the Viewer yesterday to test on a spare pc. Reason for this is I want others to be able to view and set parameters I designed in the report(s). However, when you open the Viewer, no parameters that I set up are showing. (IE: date, State, Customer, etc) When I am in CR XI and I hit refresh it brings up all the parameters that should be available to the end users to adjust the report manually. The reason I'm trying to go this route is that our company is small and running CR server is out of the budget. Should the viewer allow for prompted params for those using the CR Viewer or not? I do not want to waste time with this if the Viewer cannot or will not allow end users to select a date range or state, or other params I want them to? I do not want to purchase another CR XI version because I do not want these users to have design access to the reports. I simply want them to be able to select certain params that I have set up for them. Thanks in advance! Lee

I have discovered another issue with the viewer also.
If a report is designed/saved in LANDSCAPE mode, but the recipient opens in the viewer and the printer default is PORTRAIT, then it automatically prints in Portrait. It scales to fit to the page.
If the user overrides the default and changes it to LANDSCAPE, it still prints in Portrait.
Any ideas on this or the linked OLE issues would be much appreciated.
