Printing with elements 12

I cannot print a 4 X 6 photo in Elements 12 but can in 11.  I just bought a new printer but I do not think it is the printers problem.  Any help would be appreciated

Is there something in the printer driver that needs to be ticked for borderless printing?
Cheers,

You are doing absolutely nothing to warrant this to happen.  200 dpi could be the resolution of your printer.  Most laser printers would print at 600 dpi but there were old ones that printed at 300 dpi or less.
Have you installed the latest printer drivers for your operating system?  Windows 8 will inevitable require new drivers but you are not using it so this point might be not relevant.
DPI simply means Dots per inch when printing.  Higher the better to get a sharper picture.

  • How Do I Center an Image for Printing with Elements?

Elements 9 and 11: When I select "center" in the printing que the printed image is always shifted to the left of page center.
What am I doing wrong? New computer, new printer, and Elements shifts the image to the left!!
I downloaded the Elements 11 trial version to see if that would fix the issue but it does the same thing!

    My original problem:
    --> 3 elements in a panel, a title image
    (JLabel topImage = new JLabel(new
    w ImageIcon("WelcomeTitle.jpg"));), a button,
and a bottom image. I wanted the title image at the
top, the bottom image at the bottom, and the button
in the middle. I tried this with a BorderLayout, the
top image being Border.NORTH, the bottom Border.SOUTH
and the button Border.CENTER, however the button
completely filled its panel and was really ugly.
add the button to a JPanel and add the panel to CENTER.

  • Problems printing with Elements 11

I have been using version 7. I could position the image on a page to avoid wastage when printing, for example print one 7x5 and one 8x6 on a sheet of A4. I now have version 11 and find the printing system has changed and I cannot get to grips this it. I print from the editor as I prefer to sharpen images before I print them. Any advice?

I would explain you the steps you need to follow if you are giving control to Photoshop Elements to manages color.
Step 1- Select your printer and then Click More Options at the bottom left of the Print window.
Step 2- No click on Color Management tab.
Step 3- Now from "Color Handling" drop down select Photoshop Elements Manages color. As you select this option "Printer Profile" drop down will become enable.
Step 4- If Image Space is sRGB then select sRGB profile from Printer Profile drop down else select Adobe RGB.
Step 5- Click On Printer Preferences button. It will open your printer's preferences dialog.
step 6- Now click on "Main" tab and then click Advanced button.
step 7- Now under "Color Management" section please select No Color Management here.
step 8- Click OK and come back to main Print dialog of Photoshop Elements.  Now click Print.
Note -If you choose Photoshop Elements manages color, it is very important that you disable color management in your printer driver.Letting the application and the printer driver simultaneously manage colors during printing results in unpredictable color.
Try with above written steps I hope it would help.
    Cheers !!!

  • Printing with Elements 8

I've just started using Elements 8 and had hoped that the printing set up would be similar to PS 7 where I used printer profiles with very good  reliable results.
I am still using Vista  and the  same (old ) Epson printer (Epson Stylus  Photo 870). However I see no printer options which seem to allow me to choose a printer profile (eg "Epson Stylus Photo ........Premium glossy Photo Paper") which is printer/paper specific.
Am I missing something in Elements 8 or is it just not available?
Can anyone help mewith this ?
    Thanks

From within the pse8 editor are you looking under More Options>Color Management?
Also under Change Settings>advanced settings to get to the printer settings dialog
    for paper types and such.

  • Printing with Elements 4

    Hi
Being new to this forum and at the risk of imposing (for which I apologize), I take the liberty of putting forward a truly newbie question...:
Just imagine you're someone who knows not much ( well, almost nothing at all would be a more fair description....)about digital printing...
You shoot your pictures in RAW on a Canon EOS 300D (Rebel), use Elements 4 as processing software, have an HP photosmart 3210 and use HP premium plus paper to print.
The computer screen is calibrated via a pantone Huey device.
What definitions and check boxes on elements4 must I use to get good prints...? I've tried a bunch of stuff and still haven't come up with satisfying results...
    Thanks a lot.
    Pedro

    Jurgen,
thanks for your help. But I think I found what I was looking for. I posted the same question on another forum and another helpful soul pointed out that I should select relative colorimetric as the rendering intent and that made all the differnce. The prints now look an almost perfect match to what I see on screen.
The problem is that Elements help isn't very clear (to say the least) as to what the options for rendering intent mean.
I still have no clue as to what relative colorimetric means, but the pictures look fine and that's what matters to me :-)
    Again thanks

  • Cannot Print with Elements 11

I have Elements 11 and just created a photo album, went to print it and it either comes up with:- Tere was an error opening your printer, Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any document. or if I get the printer ialogue box to open, then press print it comes up with Could not complete your request because the ICC profile is invalid.
I tried removing Elements from my pc and re-installing it incase I had done something to cause the problem, but makes no difference.
    Can anyone help please.

  • Printing with Elements 11

Used to have Photoshop CS3......now I've got Elements 11.   Cant center image to print on canvas printer.    What gives?

Do you have the latest drivers for the printers? Check on the Epson web site.
Is the (hypothetical) image cropped to 32x24" prior to sending it to the printer, and what is the paper size that you are selectiing in the print dialog?

  • Printing problems with Elements and iPhoto on OSX 10.5.7

I am having problems with printing photos on my printer (Canon iP4000) since getting the new iMac with OSX (10.5.7) and using Photoshop Elements 6 and iPhoto. The Canon printer driver (and all my other data) were copied to my Mac by the techs at the Apple store from which I purchased the iMac. (I previously had a Mac G4 with OSX 10.4.11 Panther.)
Photos that used to come out crystal clear and brilliant on the printer from the G4, now are faint with kind of a white veil. When I try to print in Elements, I get a message that says "Some PostScript specific print settings (Interpolation, Calibration, Encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non-PostScript printer." I really have no idea what that means. Anybody?
Text printing comes out fine, both from word processing documents and web pages. I am using the latest printer driver (4.8.3) for the iP4000 (probably 4 years old or so), and there are no new driver downloads available for it. I trashed the Canon software/drivers and reinstalled, to no avail.
Canon Support has been helpful and have made many suggestions, but none has worked. I tried printing with Canon's EasyPhotoPrint app, and the photos print fine. So the problem appears to be a compatibility of the printer with Elements 6 and iPhoto.
Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have an opinion if this means I need to get a new printer? If so, any suggestions on a good, moderately priced one for Leopard on the iMac that will definitely work with Elements 6 and iPhoto?

The v4.8.3 driver she has is the latest version Canon has supplied.
Given the driver is working okay from some other applications, there has to be something amiss with the colour management of iPhoto and PSE6.
For iPhoto, as a test I would suggest the Color Options > Color Correction is set to None to see how this impacts the printed image. Then I would try the BJ Standard and ColrSync settings to see how the output is affected.
During the Color Options trial, ensure the Quality & Media > Media Type is set to the appropriate paper type, such as Photo Paper and the Print Mode be set to Top Quality Photo. With regards to the Media Type setting, some of the paper stocks have a profile associated with them. If you use Photo paper but use the Plain setting, then you will get a washed out print.

  • Custom resizing images when printing in Elements 11

Hi friends .... I could use some help ... When I was using an older Photoshop version ...I could select "print with preview" and there I could adjust the size and proportion of the image to the paper size - I would see the paper in a preview box and could adjust the image by sliding the box at the corner points and size the image any way I wanted ... and could see the actual preview of how the image could fit on the paper .... in Elements 11 - even if I do a PDF and print in Preview- there's no way I can see to do that ... I only see options for set sizes- even under the custom sizing menu ... I'm using exactly the same printer that I used with Photoshop - so I'm assuming this is a limitation with Elements ... I don't even see the option in Elements printing to change the image percentage as I've been used to with any other page setup before .... Please give any advice - this is making printing exactly what I want pure guesswork and is very difficult for me ...there must be something I'm missing when I print with Elements 11 .... thanks for any help ...
    David

Oh yes it has Barbara.  David is right.  Have a look at Elements 5.  I got that free and would still be using it if I hadn't had to upgraded to Windows 7.  I've now had to buy Elements 11 because Elements 5 wouldn't load and Elements 11 does not have that fascility that David laments.  I used that printing option almost exclusively for printing cards and I bitterly regret not having it now.  I'm very disappointed with these printing options in Elements 11.  The problem is that Photoshop eminates from the one country in 180 that seems manacled to its imperial measurements that the rest of the world has to keep wading through. I expect that to acquire my favourite printing fascility I shall have to get the full verson.  I have seen it in screenshots, so I know that it is there.  It's all very well for Barbara to say resize before entering the print window but this is just trial and error and takes forever.  In the meantime I shall continue to spend ages working round this cumbersome resizing problem each time I print my cards.

    Thanks

Saving each image as different size - is it an option for you?  I would save images with their name as: 20x30.png, 16x20.png etc etc.
Or explain whether you want these in a webpage  in which case only one image is necessary and different sizes are displayed with good CSS code.  this is question for Dreamweaver forum if this is what you want.

    Thanks for the follow up.
Barbara Brundage in the Photoshop Elements Forum will probably have the answer to your Photoshop Elements Epson scanner issue. Look into that Twain driver. She will give you good input on all this.

  • Printing Problems with Elements 8.0 and EXIF time data

I've been using Premiere Elements 8.0 in Windows XP Professional for a couple of years with no problems. I shoot mostly in JPEG. I've always imported my images using a card reader (the same one). About a year ago suddenly I ran into printing issues. When I imported my images and tried to print them Elements crashed just at the point where it should begin the actual printing.  By chance I discovered that if I adjusted the time EXIF on the images in Elements by either hours or days, back or forward and adjusted them back to the original time/date the problem disappeared. If I had shot in RAW and edited these images there were no problems with the resultant JPEG.
I noted the discussions about Elements changing the time in the EXIF and checked for this but this hadn't happened. The EXIF in camera and in Elements were the same. I also checked this against the time settigs of the camera and they were the same. I shoot with a Nikon D300.
I backed up my images and did a complete re-format of my computer so that it was back to its ex-factory settings, re-installed Elements, restored my catalog from the backup and the problem still arose. I'm reluctant to upgrade to Elements 10 until I (hopefully) I find out  if (a) anyone else has the same problem; and (b) if anyone who had it has fixed it.
Any ideas would be very welcome.

    Miceal,
I am confused. Do you mean Photoshop Elements? Premiere Elements does not have a Print function. On can Export/Share, but not Print. For Photoshop Elements, you will want the PSE Forum.
    Good luck,

What do you mean by "not compatible"? What happens, exactly, when you try to print?
