Printing with Print Shop 23.1

I have been using Print Shop 23.1 and all of a sudden I am unable to print #10 envelopes.  I received an email from the company that makes Print Shop and they said that Print Shop didn't always work well with HP printers and that I would have to reset  some printer settings.  This is ludicrous, as it worked fine when I first loaded it onto my computer.  I was wonder what software for printing envelopes, letterheads, etc, would work with my HP Photosmart 6520 without having to redo the settings everytime I print a project?
Please advise.

Hi mucksiegooma,
I understand the you are now unable to print envelopes with the Print Shop 23.1 program. I can suggest  Uninstalling the Printer Software and reinstall the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers. You will want to choose the full feature software and drivers from Driver - Product Installation Software.
I hope this helps, let me know.
Thank you,
I worked on behalf of HP.

Just bought new IMAC maverick  software and wanted to add Print Shop 2 will it work?

I had version 2 running with no problems on my 2008 iMac.
Now the latest version 3 is running on my rMBP.

  • Is Print Shop 2 compatible with Mountain Lion?

I'm considering buying Print Shop 2 (mainly for the purpose of printing labels, though I'm also generally looking for something to replace MS Publisher).  I can't find out, though, whether the current version of Print Shop 2 is compatible with Mountain Lion.  Does anyone know?

Go to the above link. Once you are there, scroll to the bottom of the page. Select Technical Support. You will get a pop-up that says Technical Support Request. Fill in your info. When you get to PROBLEM TYPE, select "Can't install, Not enough space message." Then send it. You will get a reply almost immediatly with the updated installation download. This should help you. My print shop works great now. Hope this helps.

  • Does Print Shop 2 run with Lion?

Just upgraded to Lion.  My old Print Shop for Mac does not work with the new system.  Does Print Shop 2 work with Lion/OS X 10.7.2 on an intel based iMac?

What I am saying is that if you install it on a Snow Leopard disk and copy it over to a Lion disk it will work.
I have installed Lion on a separate disk and am installing software slowly, trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. When I tried to install the Print Shop 2 the installer on the DVD had the circle with the slash over it.
If you get info on it you will see that it is a Power PC application (just the installer itself). The Print Shop 2 is an Intel/PPC app and it works fine on Lion after updating to the latest update. (2.0.11).
I just drag copied the installed and updated Print shop to the Lion disk.
It floors me that they call it a universal application and then use a PowerPC only installer...
    Hope this helps

  • Pages/Apple-PDF doesn't work in the print-shop

    Hello!
We produce a flyer. Therein is a picture that we changed to 20% (visibility) only, another picture is laying over it (or partly laying over it) with 70%, there is another one laying over it with 90%.
We produce a pdf of our pages-file.
We controle it with Preview - very well.
We controle it with Adobe-Reader 9 - very well.
We sent it to be printed: the upper picture with 90% is not visible on the machines of the printing-shop.
With different printing-shops we had the same problem also with different flyers: Always the upper picture is not visible for them.
Where may be the problem? What can we do?
    franut

we changed to 20% (visibility) only
Transparency is supported from PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5) and higher. Transparency is not supported in PDF 1.3 which is what OS X saves out and it is not supported in PostScript. Therefore, you need to render ('flatten') the transparency manually before saving out a printing master.
We sent it to be printed: the upper picture with 90% is not visible on the machines of the printing-shop.
In order to produce a printing master, you need to use the PDF/X-3 filter in the Apple ColorSync Utility. And if you ask, 'How do we use the Apple ColorSync Utility to produce a printing master?' then first search this forum for other threads on this subject.

  • Printing Shop Papers for Completed Notifications

    Hello,
This issue has been brought up on this forum before, but I have not managed to find an actual solution that was implemented by an organization.
We are basically trying to print Shop Papers for completed (NOCO) Notifications that have Orders assigned but that have been completed and TECOu2019d. The thread Need to REPRINT the Service Notification explains that it is not possible to print such shop papers. Is there some way to create a work around using user exits or a custom program to enable such shop papers to be printed? I've already checked with SAP and was told that no SAP note fulfills this requirement on ECC 6.0. I would much appreciate any insight on a solution you may have implemented.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tarun

PeteA is right you will need to have some custom code to by-pass the status checks that SAP has implemented.
Prometheus Group has a program called the Work Order Print Manager that can do this for work orders.  I am a developer for this solution.
The program gathers all document related to the work order (services for objects, DMS, sapscripts/smartforms, equipment doc, functional location docs, material docs, etc) and puts them into a nice GUI for printing.
Specifically for work order you cannot print them from standard SAP if the order is in created status because the menu is greyed out).  However we can put a button in a user exit to call the program.  The sapscripts appear along with the other documents and can be printed.
Additionally we can add watermarks and/or to the document to let the users know they are trying to print a work order in the incorrect status.  We/ I can demonstrate the work order solution to you and prototype a IW52 solution after a short discussion to help us understand your issue in particular.

if you are interested in a demo email them to set up a demonstration with me.

  • My only local print shop can't open a .pages document

Help! I have to have the brochure I've worked on for a week printed this afternoon, and the printer is pc only, can't open my file. When I save it as a word document, it is not possible to read the document, and much of the content is missing...it generally looks like a third grader threw it together. Any help?

It's the printer offices which are more numerous using Windows than Mac Os X which is really not the same thing.
    Sigh, you are wrong Yvan.
Between Microsoft Word and the printers raster image processor there has to be a page description language. Microsoft did not proceed with TrueImage as a competitor to PostScript, so Microsoft has had no native page description language between Word and the RIP. Instead Microsoft has depended on the Adobe page description languages PostScript and after 1993 increasing the Portable Document Format which is a derivative of PostScript level 2.
If a print shop receives a Word file, it opens the Word file and launches a print job from within Word that hands Word's internal data structures off to the Windows GDI Graphics Device Interface which in turn hands off to the Windows PostScript driver which in turn writes a PostScript file to disk which in turn is converted to Portable Document Format, if the PostScript is not sent directly to the PostScript Level 2 or PostScript Level 3 RIP.
It seems that you don't understand what is this forum.
Prepress has a first principle: GIGO Garbage In Garbage Out. Apple is responsible for the input to the prepress process, that is, for the input to the page description. If the input is garbage for whatever reason, then there is nothing the print shop can do with the printing master (well, short of hand editing the page descriptions in the PDF prepress editor which, believe me, is not for the non-technical).
Apple's job is to do the best it can to make sure the everyday enduser is able to produce input that will work well as the page description is processed down the line. In my humble opinion, what Peter has been asking for (deviceCMYK and device spot colour) would not be the best way to make sure the everyday enduser is able to produce a workable printing master, but then I got myself called a colour management (best not use that word) on another list.
The question remains whether Apple in its own terms, that is in terms of the device independent imaging models Apple itself developed, is doing the best for the everyday enduser. For instance, the Adobe PDF evangelist crossed himself in the OS X 10.3 time frame when it turned out that Quartz was converting TrueType to Type 1 instead of Type 42 in writing PostScript since the TrueType instructions are hurt by converting to Type 1 hints - not to mention that the obligatory CMAP Character Map is clipped when converting to Type 1.
I know you don't know prepress, and there's no problem with not knowing prepress, but please don't post to people that Apple's prepress support is satisfactory, because in fact it is not.

  • Using selections in Word or Print Shop

How can I use selections in Elements in word and Print Shop or anything else so they still have a transparent background.  Even if I save them with a transparent background, when I insert or copy the image into another program it has a white background.  HELP!

    This is a logo
we worked on for someone a few days ago. Your work flow may differ, but the principle is the same: you need to end up with the foreground surrounded by transparency.
    I opened the logo picture
    Duplicated the background layer
Used the magic wand tool on the background copy layer to select the white background, then hit delete on the keyboard to delete the background
Used CTRL+D to get rid of the marching ants
    Added  a text layer
At this stage the background still shows up because the background layer is still turned on. If you click on the eye to shut it off, the background will not be seen
Before flattening, I will drag the background to the trash

  • CN22 - Print Shop Floor Papers for Network Orders

    Hi All,
We are printing shop floor papers for network orders - the printers are setup, configuration is working fine.
However, there is a sporadic error: when we select "Print" and then "Save" in CN22, the system pops up a window with the list of all network activities. However, for some reason, the first time this is done, only a few network activities appear on the list. If we close the pop up, then select "Print" and then "Save" again, the whole list appears. Has anyone encountered this before? I looked through OSS, but couldn't tell if any of the notes would be applicable to resolve the issue.

    Hi,
I just went through the same problem. Don't know if it is still open.
In customizing under "Project System"->"Structures"->"Operative Structures"->"Network"->"Printing in Networks" you will find entry "Recommendations for printing and print control". There it is stated that the number of time tickets or number of confirmation slips entered for the activity is greater than zero.
Check in transaction OPS0 if you have set the number of prints greater than zero in menu point "List control for transactions (double clic on the entry).

This is a known defect in Lion and AFAIK nobody has yet come up with a fix for it - one that works 100% of the time.

  • How do you convert files in MAC to pdf, specifically print shop and word?

New mac user - I compose pta newsletter and with new paperfree environment in school I need to convert to pdf & send to website coordinator. I use print shop for mac (mac kiev, version2) What do I need to do? Thanks!

Command-P (print command) will give you the option of printing, previewing the file in Preview and saving the file as a PDF. Many applications also have an export feature that will export your file to a pdf as well.

  • How do I get images from Aperture into print shop for mac?

    Friends,
I have Print Shop for Mac and Aperture. How do I get images from Aperture into Print Shop? I'musing managed images with previews. Is there any option besides exporting to the desktop and importing?
    Thanks!
    Steve

if you have previews turned on in Aperture and they're all genereated, you can simply drag-n-drop them into any application (just about). drag-n-drop is essentially the same as copy/paste as long as the application is setup to accept "drops" onto its windows.
otherwise, if you're running Leopard (10.5) as your version of Mac OS X, when you import (or whatever it is in PrintShop), you should get a file selection dialog. from here, scroll down the left-hand side bar set of icons. near the bottom is a group called "Media". click on the triangle to open the group, choose Photos, and from here you should see an Aperture icon. click this and you'll see your whole library (or at least the portion of it that you have previews generated for. select the photo you want and viola!

  • Print shop can't print color correctly.

    Hi there,
I work at a print shop and occasionally run into problems with documents being difficult to print, but this one is especially troubling.  Out print shop does not have Photoshop but rather "Photo Impact..."  I know, don't get me started.  The issue is that I have a particular customer how did some designing in Photoshop CS4 (CS something) and it looks beautiful on his macbook but different on our PC (no matter what program we use to open any of his files- TIFF, PNG, JPG, etc). When printing to our Xerox Docucolor 252 the color is real dark and way less vivid/bright.
I tried the file on my home computer (PC with CS4) and it again looks great.  When I print it on my home printer (Canon ip6700d) the printed colors are much closer to the screen even though I get an error telling me the printer is a non-postscript printer and so it will ignore some of the document properties.  This leads me to believe that since the Xerox is a postscript enabled (I think) printer it is using data I know nothing about to darken and dirty the image.  This is way outside of my knowledge and I would love to figure this out.
We have tried converting the image both to CMYK and RGB and have played around with the different color profiles, sRGB, Adobe RGBxxx etc. with very suble changes but nothing acceptable.  I think we are to the point where the customer would be ok to start from scratch but if he doesn't know what to do differently I think we'll be right back here again.
Any suggestions?  I'm frustrated and desperate to figure this out!
    Thank for any ideas,
    -Stephen

  • Mass Producing a iDVD project - Print shop for Mac

I have been doing a couple of iDVD projects for friends and family. One of my projects got into the hands of a school principal who would now like me to do a video yearbook for her school. I don't have the capabilities for mass production, but I am aware of companies that do this work. Can a copy of an iDVD project be used as a master for a large scale (500+ copies) production?
Also, one of the companies I am looking at has to have graphics from specific software:
"We can accept these software programs on Macintosh or PC:
    •FreeHand
    •QuarkXPress
    •Illustrator
    •PageMaker
    •CorelDRAW
    •InDesign"
I have been using Print Shop for Mac because it incorperates iDVD templates in it's projects. Any of the choices above as similar match to Print Shop?
    Thanks in advance.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

If you plan to have these DVD's "mass produced" use DLT > Glass Master. Also i'd recommend using apple's top end / professional apps and not consumer / iLife apps in order to avoid possible returns and possible playback issues with many consumer medias.
Pressed DVD's from a glass master have far fewer issues with playback (and also last longer) than a "burned" DVD-R medias.
Hope this ifo is Helpful and good luck.

  • Export for non-expert print-shop?

My campus print shop has a color laser printer. The color quality is far from ideal, but for off-screen sorting-and-selecting work, the price is magnificent: 45 cents for 11x17 prints. The catch is that they don't know a lot about what they're doing; neither do I; so I'm coming here for advice.
I gave them a CD of JPG files I had exported from Aperture with the "JPEG- Original Size" preset (DPI at 72; sRGB profile, which is probably right). The images were a mix of portrait and landscape, and a mix of images that were originally JPG at 2816x2112 and images that were originally .CR2 at 3504x2332.
The prints came back with two kinds of errors. Some landscape shots (not all!) were rotated 90 degrees so the image was small and the top and bottom margins were enormous; this one doesn't worry me so much for sorting work. But many were severely cropped: the 11x17 sheet is filled, but filled with only about a third of the image. Typically, if not always, the image is landscape and the print is a portrait-oriented slice out of the center.
Both kinds of errors on both kinds of originals, JPG and CR2.
When we discovered the errors I stood there and watched the guy send some through. His software interface (some Windows "print wizard") allows for very, very little choice. I think we figured out how to solve the smaller problem, landscapes printed small as portraits with big top & bottom margins. And we solved the other, bigger problem of drastic cropping, on one test image, by opening it in Photoshop, setting the smaller-side size to 11 inches and the DPI to 300 and resampling and printing from there.
So I'm pretty sure I could solve it by going into Photoshop and using Image Size to specify the inch-dimensions and do any resampling required, saving the result as a JPG. But I also know this would take me a full day with a couple of hundred images.
Can anybody suggest how I might export directly from Aperture in some way that will be more nearly foolproof? (I don't mean they're fools; image manipulation isn't their job, just something their printer happens to do moderately well very cheaply.)

It may be the case that the printer software is
making best fit or best quality decisions prior to
printing. I would attempt to eliminate those
    decisions.
Yes, my conclusion exactly. That's what I'm trying to figure out how to do -- without specifying everything (print size in inches and dpi, which would require me to open each image in Photoshop).
If the printer handles paper in the portrait format
the first thing I would try would be would match that
and orientate my images all as portrait prior to
    exporting.
Well, it will do both -- just not always properly. Anyway, I can't turn an image that's portrait into landscape or vice versa without either getting quite a small image (which is one thing that sometimes happens now) or changing the image drastically (which would make the whole exercise pointless).
Also I would attempt to export the images by setting
pixel sizes that match as close as possible their
    paper dimensions and printer resolution.
That makes sense -- except that the only way I can see to do that is through Photoshop or something like it. One way to put it is that Aperture will do pixels but not inches. Quite properly; but a problem in this case. And whether specifying DPI in Aperture's export would do anything at all for the printer is anybody's guess.
