Printing with red background

Hi,
I have adobe acrobat 8.1, and it is printing everything (logos, pictures, etc) with a red background. It seems like several people have encountered this before, and the only solution that I could understand is to install Acrobat 6.0 for printing purposes. Is there any fix out there that actually solves the problem with acrobat 8.1? I am printing to HP Color Laser Jet 2550.

Then why did they post the 8.1.1 update saying that it should fix the problem when it doesn't? And the Tech Note itself says that, "Acrobat 8 has a problem" as if to say that it IS an issue for Adobe to resolve or at least provide a workaround for, which they did.
Anyway...
Solution #2 does not work in this case because we are dealing with Adobe Reader and not Acrobat Pro. The Tech Note specifically says that #2 is for Pro only. However I checked anyway to see if the option is available and it is not.
That rules out Solutions #1, #2 and #4. I have tried Solution #3 and that DOES work. So that is at least something.
I looked for the latest HP drivers for the HP Color LaserJet 2820 and the newest Tiger drivers are from July 31st 2006 (v8.1). I tried those and they did not work. There is also a Leopard driver v8.2 from March 17th, 2008. I downloaded and installed the v8.2 Leo update, and that seems to fix the issue at least for the first print. After that the printer wouldn't even see any jobs sent to it after that. So Leopard users might be ok with just a driver update...
I then downloaded and installed a Firmware update for the HP printer. This brought the firmware version from 2005 up to 2007 (the newest). FYI the Firmware updater app requires a Tiger machine and will not work on Leopard.
After installing the latest firmware, I printed the pdf test page using Adobe Reader 8.1.2 on Tiger 10.4.11 and it finally worked. So now Tiger users can print again too. I tested from Leopard again and that seems to work fine now too. I am still waiting for feedback from the users to see if any other pdfs give them problems. If they do have more red printing issues I told them to just use the Print as Image option or to print to a different printer.
I think Adobe should update their Tech Note to include Solution #5: Update the firmware of the printer.

PDFs printing with black background and white text.

For some reason some of our PDF's have been printing with black backgrounds and white text, even though they appear to be normal on the screen before they are printed. I haven't been able to confirm 100% yet but it appears to only be happening with pdfs that were created from scanned documents.
Can somebody please offer me some suggestions.

Absolutely agree with the original poster. I find white text on black background so very very difficult (I changed from using Tweetbot on iOS to Tweetlogix for this very reason) and it physically hurts my eyes to try to read it. I can just about manage with Spotify using white text on a black background on the large screen of my MacBook Pro - and I do mean "just" - but for the smaller screen of my iPhone 5 it is just impossible. Even with a retina screen such as that on the iPhone 5S there is a strange ghosting effect and it gives me a headache to look at it for too long.
This may be something to do with age! I suspect most app developers are youngsters with almost perfect eyesight, but for those of us whose eyesight is less than perfect, this white text on black background really is so very difficult.
I know there is a workaround in setting the iPhone to invert ALL colours (under Accessibility in Settings) but it's a real pain to have to keep altering this setting every time I want to open or close Spotify, and it doesn't look right anyway. iOS7 is supposed to be a light, bright, easy to read OS - sadly this new Spotify app is the opposite of that.
Please would Spotify consider adding a simple light or dark theme option, so that those of us who want it can have our much easier to read light background back again, with grey or black text? It would be a great help to those of us who have eyesight problems.
If not, I may have to cancel my Spotify Premium account and move to Deezer instead, as I mainly use Spotify when out and about in the car, so am using the iOS app a lot.

Is there a setting to make a PDF print with no background and black text?

I made a nice booklet that has colorful blocks in the background and sometimes white text and sometimes black text. We are not going to print it, it is just going to be a PDF on our website. Can I set it up so that it always prints without the backgrounds and makes all the text black?
I just don't want people to have to print huge fields of colr if they end up printing this out on a little ink jet with expensive and finicky cartridges...

HP Photosmart 8450 Starts printing with red tint

Printer starts to print with a red tint apprroximately 2/3 of way through an 8 by 10 photo. I've cleaned contacts several times. That makes printer work correctly for maybe one print. Suggestions on how to fix?

Which cartridges are you using? Try removing the photo cartridge and printing a photo (it will automatically use the color cartridge). If this is OK then the issue is the photo cartridge running out of light cyan. If the problem persists then the color cartrdige is running low on cyan and should be replaced.

How to change pdf (with dark background) so it print with white background and dark text??

I have lots of nice presentations I am studying- the problem is most of them were made in ppt with dark backgrounds and white text then converted to pdf files. So when I print them, I get a dark (black) background with white text- very annoying. Is there anyway to get it to print with a light (or no) backround with black text? This is much easier for note taking/etc. I have adobe acrobat professional.

Use the rectangle shape tool. Draw a rectangle over the entire frame. In the shape tab, color it whatever you want. Export your TGA sequence.

PS: But if you place a colored bkg in your motion project that you will effectively have no alpha channel. Are they referencing the TGA's alpha?

Iphone shows up with red background. what's wrong?

I have no idea what happened. One minute it was working fine and then all of the sudden it showed up with a red background. It is odd because everything really works normally(other then turning of randomly) but there is a red background. Any idea what's wrong?

First time I recall seeing a report like this here.
I suggest doing a Restore with iTunes. Be sure to sync your iPhone immediately before restoring to update your iPhone's backup if needed.
If no change after a Restore, I suggest calling AppleCare (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Color LaserJet CP1518ni blue print with red shadows, help !

Blue text prints with a red shadow on the right side of the page only. There is no magenta in the blue. All other colors print fine. I have tried a new magenta cartridge and it was the same. All cartridges are OEM. I updated the firmware and it did not help. Calibrted and cleaned many times. Any ideas?

I have a similar issue with a Laserjet cp1525nw, it was mostly corrected by removing and reseating the toner cartridges.

Web sites print with black background

I usemhigh contrast in IE8 but in Firefox 4 I have it set to use yellow on Black background. I have my printers all set to print in black and white. When I print from IE8 I get black text on the white paper with no background printed. But with Firefox 4 I it prints the black background with the yellow text. This is true of all sites I'm viewing and wish to print.

Printing with Gray background on entire page every time I print through Elements 12

Every time I print a photo in photoshop, a gray background appears on the entire page of the printed paper (except for 1/4th of an inch margin on all sides.) This does not happen when printing from iPhoto so I assume it is a preference in photoshop or in my driver/printer settings? I am set up for sublimation printing and with an ICC profile from Conde Systems. I work in RGB mode and use the specific color profile downloaded by Conde.
I have a feeling that when I set up my settings, I somewhere marked the "hard settings" or "default" background color to print in WHITE…which is somehow translating to gray when I print (this is just a guess.) I am thinking that a setting of mine is off yet I have no idea where to change it. If I open a new doc, specify that I want the background transparent, it will print without the gray box! However, if I open an image and simply hit "print" - the entire page is gray - which is wasting tons of ink. Creating the new doc and placing the image on that doc and then printing it is a fine temporary solution to the problem but it is not conducive to my business. Anyone with any knowledge on this situation would be a lifesaver. Happy to provide any additional details needed!!!

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the alignment pages printing on your Photosmart c4485 printer. Do both cyan and black print properly on the alitnment page?

Photo rendering issue: Yellow Caution with red background & star

In FCP X 10.0.1
When I changed the playback settings in preference to original media from proxy, the program rendered from 24 hours. The edit is about 15 minutes long. I've used many hi-res photos from iPhoto - maybe 100. The photos were taken over a weekend using the same camera and quality... there about 5 mb each... After the day long render, about 15 photos have not rendered.. there is a orange line in the timeline above the photo. The image has been replaced by a red frame with star and orange triangle.
I've found the original photo in the event browers which is fine. I can drop and replace the photo on to the unrender photo, but this doesn't retain the settings and animation created. Thus, i would have to reedit these sections...
I know working with hi-res files increase rendering times, but I had to used them at that quailty becuase some files were increased by 300%. I don't want to recreated the sequence... as the proxy version of the piece has been approved.

Photos are RAW files in iPhoto.. I guess a little warning before using them would help like with the warning you get in Motion.. this is a video program cabalble of handling larger video files... but i'm not an software engineer...
The frame size is... opps... 4096x2800 and 16 mbs... i guess too big.. but what are the restrictions.. would be nice to know in advance...
However, 90% of the raw photos used at the above pixel sized worked great... rendering too 24 hrs so I wouldnt' do it again this way... Still, not sure why a handful got kicked out... further, when the project was in proxy media mode.. working with the raw photos was seamless... work great infact.. loved the option to blow up 500% percent without loosing image quality... thats a feature I'm glad this has... .
I think it's a mistake that when replacing media, all the files parameters are lost. It would be an easy fix to replace the problem photos with lower res versions, but now I've got to redo all the animations... Unless there's a techniques to preserve the animation parameters...

Photos print with red stripes across them

I have an Envy 5532 printer. If I print from an sd card the photos print ok, copying a photo direct from the scanner also prints perfectly, but if I print from photos already stored on my computer they have fine red lines randomly across them.

Thank you for your reply. I have now found that my problem was in fact confused by a number of coincidences.
I had set up the printer and run test print pages & copied from the scanner and a print from an sd card before the "stripe" problem appeared. When I tried to print from a photo already stored on the computer was when it first really showed up. I ran the Print Doctor Tool and no problems were reported. Similarly the print test page appeared ok although of course it only has small coloured sections. Finally, after running test after test, the ink ran out and I had to put in a new cartridge - Eureka! problem disappeared.
I therefore conclude that I had a faulty cartridge that was causing the trouble. I have since run a photo on "best quality" onto Photo Paper and it looks perfect. At the high price of cartridges, this was a costly excercise, but at leat I am now able to print my photos which is what I bought it for.

Mac Word-2004 doc graphics print with black background

I dont know why this is happening to your file, but I just
made flashPaper from Word 10 and it output just as it should
without the black borders.

Why do I get a yellow exclamation point with red background when exporting to YouTube using compressor?

Whenever I try to export using FCPX and Compressor 4 I always get something that looks like this:
Any idea why that is? I'm using all default settings on the youtube export, and I'm transcoding it using another mac via compressor.

None of these answers are correct. The error favicon happens in Firefox for Android occasionally. When the browser is offline or on a poor network connection you will get a timeout error page.
We have a bug where the icon persists on reload. With a little time the favicon cache will expire and the favicon will be updated to the correct one.

Transparant image printing with white backgroud in postscript file

I am new to Livecycle ES, It would be grateful if some one answer my question.
I want to place signature image to the form. Dinamically the signature will be changes. and if i print the postscript file, the signature is printing with white background (even it is transparant image - .gif).
Steps i follow,
1) Set the field propertly as 'Image Field' in form and declared field name as 'SIGN_SIGN1'.
2) Populate signature image as encoded value to the XML stream - <SIGN_SIGN1>-----Base64 encoded string of file PICCHI.(BMP/JPG/…)----</SIGN_SIGN1>
3) Render the form with XDP and XML data.
I don't get the white background of an image to the PDF output. I am facing problem in Postscript (PS).
Pls help me.

Hi paul,
I have issues in postscript file, the signature image is printing with white background and hiding the backdrop. I don't have issue in PDF output, it is printing with transparant image and it is not hiding the backdrop.

PDF prints in red blocks

Any suggestions on why when I print some PDF's either from Acrobat Reader or Apple Preview with the latest 10.5.4 I get PDF's that print with red text boxes around text? I have a color laser and have never had this problem before. I have tried turning off Colorsync but it did not make any difference. Any ideas?

Do you have an example of one of these PDFs you can share?
