Printing Woes...any ideas?

OK, so I am having some printing issues: Following a OSX Archive and Install I find that I cannot print. I tried re-installing the print drivers but I still get a "print jobs have been stopped" notice. Upon restarting the jobs they simply stop again. I suspected that my always buggy Epson all in one's drivers were to blame and since I've been thinking of a laser printer for B&W stuff i bought a neat little samsung today.
The Samsung driver installed without a hitch and the printer is recognized when I try and print, But, guess what: The "print jobs have been stopped" warning is back and the jobs will not restart.
I gather that this issue is not uncommon. The aged eMac at my office sometimes does the same thing. Problem is that I am totally unable to get the iBook to print to anything.
Interestingly, the Epson's scanning drivers still work fine.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The "combo update" is an OSX system update file of significant upgrades
to the step you are running in the computer, should it be an older version
and you wish to update from, say 10.4.1 to 10.4.8, you'd download and use
this. [Once you use Software Update to get this semi-automatically, you'd
have to go into Support>Downloads and get the stand-alone update by it-
self and run it manually to reinstall it over the top of what you already had.]

Repairing disk permissions before and after updates and upgrades to the OS
and installation of some third-party applications is recommended. The drivers
you are getting may be older than the ones included in OSX 10.4.8.
For real driver issues, some users get other drivers from opensource
such as the onces formerly called "gimp." I've never used them, but
I've read these can be helpful in controlling some printers and output.
If the printer setup repair does not help, you may wish to try other ideas.

The warmup stage does not seem to go all the way through its normal startup noises and the printer does not get hot.

Be sure to try restarting, if you have not done so since this problem occurred. You should also power off the printer while you do the restart...
If that does not help, you can try resetting the printing system. Open System Preferences Print & Scan (or Print & Fax) pane. In the sidebar with list of printers, right (control) click anywhere. Select Reset printing system. You will have to add back your printers after you do this.

Have you installed all the updates for Photoshop?
And what does the crash report say?
Most of these issues turn out to be bugs in the printer driver software, but some are curable by resetting Photoshop preferences (which also resets the "last used" printer info).

With most multi-function devices, you need to run the printer manufacturer's setup/configuring program first. That will either "Add" the printer directly, or make it discoverable in the "Add-a-Printer" window. Look around, you probably downloaded that program when you downloaded the Driver.

You didn't state how it's connected to each computer, if it's connected through your router then it should work. If it doesn't then you need to contact Canon and ask for assistance.

On the screen of your printer, it should tell you exactly where to load to the paper (Load paper in the cassette; for example). Once you determine where the printer is trying to pull paper, check to ensure that the paper is loaded properly. Try a single sheet at first, then add about 10 sheets and try again.

My Canon MX892 stopped printing Wirelessly - any ideas??

I have been printing wirelessly from my macbook pro without any issues for over a month..then all of a sudden the printer is not being recognized. I have powered on and off..reset the printer on the wireless network multiple times. I removed the printer from the computer and reinstalled the driver - NOTHING. Anyone have any suggestions that could help me?

I want to print a picture 2x2 out of the Ipad to the printer. Any ideas on what resize app or print app I should try?

I took a picture with my ipad and want to print out a 2x2 inch on the printer. I cant seem to find an application to help me with this. I tried a couple of resize apps but the printer still prints it full page but a low resolution. I want to be able to print a simple 2x2 picture.

I am noticing, that when I open a RAW image into PS, and all I need to do is slightly edit or crop, and I do not change anything, all seems fine on the screen. Our Office Manager was having this issue, not with printing, but with crashing in general. We finally did a clean install, installed PS (v CS5), and all the issues went away.

Just today, I compared a Frigidaire PDF file in Firefox to one in Explorer.
With Firefox, the menu bar (which displays the Print-Icon & Arrows) failed to display.
Furthemore, print-preview yielded a blank page.
Then, if i'd try printing, there would be alot of junk printing, then maybe 1/2 page of print, & so on (so i'd need to Reset printer queue.

How is the printer connected to your computer (network, USB, etc.)?
Does this happen with specific programs or all programs?
When did this start happening (how long ago, any specific changes like cartridges, etc.)?
I have included a general slow printing guide from HP. I recommend following all steps except for the ones that do not apply. For example, if it is wireless then you would ignore any USB or Ethernet steps.
