  • Messy code in printout of smartforms

    Hi Gurus,
    I encountered a problem when printing Thai characters using smartforms. it can be displayed OK on preview. but when I printed it out in the physical printer, all of the Thai characters are displayed as messy code like 'ŶµÄ½¨·¿¼ä°'. but English characters are displayed well.what should the prob be?
    any responses would be awarded,
    regards,
    samson

    Check the character set attached with the device type of ur printer from SPAD. Check whether ur code page supports Thai characters or not. If it is ok then I think it is a problem within actual printer (may be the code page actually installed in it does not support Thai language)..better u can consult ur basis team.

  • Smartforms Printing not coming properly in dot matrix printer

    Hi Gurus,
    We have implemented invoice printout using smartforms and required to use the dot matrix printer for printing.
    We are now facing the problem on the printout from dot matrix is different from the preview we get in the system. But the printout from Laser Jet is coming out correctly for the same smartforms.
    We are using EPSON DLQ3000 and we configure the output device using EPESCP2 as the Device Type. The problem is font size of the print out is all printed as courier size 12, but there are different font sizes in the smartforms.
    But when we use local printing (using SAPLPD), there is no problem, all different font size is printed.
    If we using to same output device to print some sapscript, everything is working well. Font size will print accordingly to the preview of the sapscript.
    Do you have any idea of the problem that we have. Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Lee Shi

    Dear Lee,
    Ideally the printout should come as it is shown in the preview.I remember once it had happened with me too.But in my case there is no problem with the settings at SAP level.When we checked we found the problem is with the printer cartridge.
    We co-ordinated with the system administrator and n/w guys.They in turn change the cartridge and issue was fixed.
    PS:In my case all SAP printout were coming properly except the smartforms.

  • Problem encountered when using RKD_WORD_WRAP

    Hi all,
    I have encountered a problem when using RKD_WORD_WRAP. The problem is that the paragraph is not being formatted nicely when i try to printout in Smartforms.
    Eg is that I want to format this paragraph;
    "Text Conversion: Convert Text Formats
    The function module CONVERT_TEXT provides the
    following format conversion options:"
    However, when I output it out, the text was being displayed like this;
    "Text Conversion: Convert Text Formats
    The function module CONVERT_TEXT provides
    the
    following format conversion options:"
    The problem is that even though after the "the" word, although that line still has some spaces, thecorresponsing words just wont get concatenate to the 2nd line (as seen above).
    Is there any way to fix this?? Or is there a standard value to be use for the outputlens parameter so that the above situation will not occurs??

    Check the below program and output :
    report ztest_ytt.
    data input type string.
    data SWASTRTAB like SWASTRTAB occurs 0 with header line.
    start-of-selection.
    input = 'The function module SWA_STRING_SPLIT that you have said is not
    working successfully. It is still giving me the same problem where it is
    appending a new line where there is still enough space for the word on
    the current line'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SWA_STRING_SPLIT'
      EXPORTING
        INPUT_STRING                       = input
       MAX_COMPONENT_LENGTH               = 100
      TERMINATING_SEPARATORS             =
      OPENING_SEPARATORS                 =
      TABLES
        STRING_COMPONENTS                  = SWASTRTAB
    EXCEPTIONS
       MAX_COMPONENT_LENGTH_INVALID       = 1
       OTHERS                             = 2
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    loop at SWASTRTAB.
    write:/ SWASTRTAB-STR.
    endloop.
    This is output :
    The function module SWA_STRING_SPLIT that you have said is not working successfully. It is still
    giving me the same problem where it is appending a new line where there is still enough space for
    the word on the current line
    Suppose you want to print 100 charcters in each line .. upto 95 charcters you have words perfectly the next will start at 97th ,so here word is <b>' Function'</b>
    so this word will not fit into that line since you have 4 charcters,Function word is containg 8 charcters,this word will come in next line.
    Check the program and give what ever input and see the results.
    Thanks
    Seshu

    Solution
    New Smartform has been created to suuport the new Certificate format.
    Solution includes chnages in the certificate program, Smartform creation and a new customization.
    Attached New_Form16A.zip contains 3 objects:-
    Form16A_Smartform.PDF, Form16A_DDIC.pdf, J_1IEWT_CERT_style.xml
    and J_1IEWT_CERT.xml
    First download J_1IEWT_CERT.xml and  to  J_1IEWT_CERT_style.xml to your
    local machine.
    1. Please follow the manual steps given in the attached pdf - Form16A_DDIC.pdf to create new DDIC objects before applying the code corrections.
    2. Create new Smartform 'J_1IEWT_CERT' as explained the attached PDF - 'Form16A_Smartform.PDF'
    3. Apply the correction instructions.
    In the certificate, Income tax department address has to be displyed.
    To support this, new customization is created. Please maintain IT department address in the view (SM31 - J_1I_SECCO_CIT) for every Section Code under the company code.
    Create an entry in table TSADRV for J_1I_SECCO_CIT to get address block.
    following values should be filled in.
    Table -  J_1I_CIT
    Field -  ADRNR
    DD Table  - J_1I_SECCO_CIT
    DD Field  - ADRNR
    Addrss Group - CA01
    Save it.
    Maintain TAN against Section codes in the view J_1I_SECCO_CIT.
    Note:-
    'Run in preview mode' checkbox has been provided in selection screen, If it is selected while running the certificate, it will not generate a certificate number even PRINT button is clicked.
    The note is very clear what to do, Download the file.zip available at the bottom & read the PDF file. its very clear, also they have mentioned how to make entires in tables & other stuff as well.
    Cheers,
    Dileep .C

  • Smartform output ( printout ) is not the same as the preview

    Dear Freinds,
    I have developed smartform , iam able to get data
    very much clear font and the design . However when i running the smart form through repot to give print using the Output Device Locl or LP01. I can see the output is not coming in the printout which is there in Print Preview.
    The Print Preview as below :
    Print preview the below is the data:
    ID : _____________QTY :____________
    Address :_________Pincode :____________
    Final printout in the paper (when using the output device
    Locl or LP01) the data is coming as below
    Name : _______                              QTY :____________
    Address : ___________                     Pincode :____________
    we can the see the above printing is not correct , as the lines are coming  short when
    compared to print preview and it is looking as broken lines....
    I have used underline for printing the lines using the Paragraph Format from Smart Styles.
    Please could you tell me what changes i have to do so that the line should stretch and touch the Qty
    , in the printpreview data is coming correctly i can see the line touches till the Qty.
      . Please suggest me what i have missed in the smartforms..
    thanks & regards

    Dear Neeraj,
            The actual problem is the when i have in the ouput as below :
    Name : &wafinal-Name&__________ Designation : &wafinal-Job&________
    so iam getting data for Name : Madhuri______ Designation: Supervisor  -
    > this data
    is coming for me correctly when i see in the Print preview.
    As in the page  the two fields Name and Designation are in the same line i want the underline which is the under Madhuri should extend till the text Designation , but i found in the print preview it is coming
    correctly , however in the printout it is coming ast Name : Madhuri______       Desgination: Supervisor______.
    i can see there is a gap coming between end of the underline of the Name and the Designation.
    Actually my requirement is i wan to have
    Name : _____________________________Designation:_________________________________
    in first row. But in the printoverview iam ble to see exactly the same above however when i take printout i can the output as
    Name : ______________________            Designation:____________________________
    I have done in the smartform as per below :
    I have used the Table > in the table i have used the Main Area> in the Main area  i have created in Row1 and created a cell> Splited the Cell in two > so Row1 is having two cells> in the first cell i have created one text and given in the text area as Name : &Wa_final-Name&____ and in the second cell i have created another text and given in the text area as Designation : &wa_final-Job&________.
    So i am not able to extend  the underline of the Name : &Wa_final-Name&____ till Designation: &wa_final-Job&________, however iam able to see in the printout and only not getting truncated inthe
    printout.
    please could  let me know how and where i went wrong in getting  extended till Designation.
    Regards
    Madhuri.
