Prints in LR 2.1 all too red, work fine in CS3. Detailled info included

Hi,
I bought a new Canon iPF6100 printer and I figured out how to get it working nicely in CS3/PS. I have installed the latest drivers and firmware, and I have put the icc profiles for the paper in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color directory.
But printing in LR2.1 give me a very red image, a kind of a hue shift and I just cannot figure out how to get it done properly. I have created a PDF document with a preview of the images as well as all the settings I tried. It can be viewed at http://www.dorrmanagement.nl/printen.pdf

Maybe a few explanations are in order...
The problem is that for some configurations (HP or Canon or whatever
printers), disabling the Color Management on the printer driver side
doesn't work with Lightroom for some unknown reason (although this works
with any other software including PS). In those cases, the trick is to
*not* disable Color Management on the printer driver side, but to setup
the driver in such a way that it makes a "blind" transform (no
transformation actually takes place as would be the case if disabling
Color Management on the printer driver side actually worked). That is,
you tell it that the input ICC profile is the same as the output
profile.
So in Lightroom you select the ICC profile that is relevant for the
printer/paper pair that you are using, and on the printer driver side,
you specify the very same profile as the input *and* output ICC profile.
So the input profile is certainly not sRGB but Fuji Semi Gloss IPF6100
as well.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I clicked on the "to" name and got this

I don't get a Bonjour Option here.
I do get a Jabber ID showing up for them but for soem reason it does not list my "From" account.
I would say that I have seen multiple "To"s and the same for the "From" choices and I think I have seen the Bonjour one listed.
However the "To" And "From"s don't seem to match and it appears you can iMessage Jabber names/ID or Jabber AIM names (which you can't in either case)

I have a canon MX7600 multifunction printer. My security setting allow connection with the printer. If I disable the firewall it works fine. If the firewall is running I get a dialog box every time I print asking for permission. How do I fix this?

I have a canon MX 7600 multifunction printer. Each time I print I get a dialog box asking for permission to allow connections to the printer. This box stays on my screen for a few seconds, if I don't click allow I get a communication error which then requires me to delete the job and start over. I contacted Canon and proceeded with their suggestions to no avail. They now say it is an Apple issue. My security settings are set to allow connection to the canon printer. If I disable the firewall it works fine, once I enable the firewall the problem returns. This issue is a royal pain. Any suggestions on how to fix it short of buying a new printer?

All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.

Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.

Yes.
It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).

Sharepoint 2010 - Home Page not displaying, all other pages work fine

The web page URL <server>/sitepages/Home.aspx is not displaying when accessed. All other pages work fine. We changed the default welcome page to another page, and that works. When we try to access the Home.aspx, it displays "An unexpected error
occurred" message. The Home.aspx only contains a couple of Lists, with Links, and a calendar. The other odd thing is that the Home.aspx displays in SharePoint designer in Advanced Edit mode, but won't display in a browser. Any ideas?

1) Check the approval of the page (Home.aspx) whether it is in pending state .
2) OR might be some problematic webpart is added in the page. You can try to close it and access. To do that,you can try to access the web part maintenance page of home.aspx and test by closing the webpart one by one.
To access the maintenance page,pass the parameters ?contents=1 after the home.aspx
For example, http://site url/home.aspx?contents=1
3) Also,check the ULS logs after accessing the home.aspx to know what is happening.

I get a dialog box to allow a cookie from Yahoo mail but it does not respond and locks up the entire browser. All other sites work fine.

The sign in page for yahoo mail wants to set cookies. I get a dialog box that asks to set a second cookie but it is unresponsive, eitehr to check allow or close it. Going to task manage says the site is waiting for input from me but I cannot get the browser to respond in any manner whatsoever.
All other tabs work fine and the yahoo site can be opened with IE fine.

Set up to "Ask me every time" in the Privacy elections. I think I found the problem. Looks like there were two dialog boxes, the second right on top of the first so I could not check the first one so it never got the OK and kept waiting for input.
Seems OK now.

I am suddenly not getting a text tone when receiving a text. All other sounds work and text tone is checked in settings.

I finally discovered that the problem is with a single text tone and all the rest work fine. The text tone not working is one I purchased from iTunes about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine up until 2 days ago. When the text tone is still there and it plays when I manually select it, but there is no sound when I get a text. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem is or how to fix it?

CS5 Unable to print to PDF ... export to PDF works fine??

I can't print to PDF without going to PS first. Printing to the PDF is necessary for print booklet and printing separations, among other things. It will not print directlly to the PDF without first producing a PS file. I then have to convert the PS file to the pdf. The print to PDF worked just fine in CS3. Does anyone have an answer to this??

yes it is a recent install of CS5 but all the printer preferences remained the same. I printed the
test page and it does confirm that it is using the PDF9.0 driver.
As I said, this works perfectly with every other program I use, just NOT with the print function of InDesign CS5.

I downloaded Firefox 4 yesterday, and everything worked fine. When I booted up my computer today, I have problems. Flickr is all deformatted, streaming audio and video won't work from a variety of sources. All these things worked fine yesterday.

Flickr is deformatted. This forum is deformatted. Can't see the streaming toolbars at my public radio station. Can't stream news shows that I suually watch.
It all works fine with IE. I had to switch to Explorer to access this forum!

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!

Hp 3510 prints only blank pages from i-pad, but works fine with xp configured lap top. why? help!

i have an hp3510 wireless printer that worked fine with both my i-pad and on my laptop when 1st installed. now it will only print blank pages with the i-pad although it still works fine when using my xp configured laptop. can anyone tell me how to correct the i-pad problem so that i can print wirelessly using that device?

I would start by powering down the Apple device, make sure that you hold the power button down, and slide the bar on the screen to "Off". If you have more that 1 iOS device that you use with the printer (like another iPad or an iPhone) power them down at the same time. Then turn them all back on and try to print to the printer.
If still having a problem, I would then power down the printer, router, and Apple device.
1. Unplug the router, (most do not have an on/off button)
2. power down printer and Apple device
3. Wait about 20-30 seconds
4. Plug router back in and wait for it to be fully operational and all the light on it back as they were before unplugging it.
5.Power printer and apple device back on (check to settings of iPad to make sure that it is still on the same network as printer and that "Ask to join other networks" is ON).
6. Reattempt to print

Please help, I've tried everything! Gmail won't open, it just endlessly cycles and rarely even gives me an error message: all other sites work fine (Windows 8).

All sites work fine except Gmail will not load. I prefer Firefox, but to be fair, Chrome and IE are doing the same thing when I try to use them. Occasionally Gmail will pop up, most of the time it just endlessly cycles and I don't even get an error message. I'm going to have to get rid of gmail if this goes on.
It's maddening! I've tried everything I could find on mozilla support--restarted in safe mode, clear cache, cookies, etc. This is a brand new Windows 8 laptop. It started a few weeks after I got it. There is nothing else wrong with it, it had a fresh new OS installed before I got it. Please help! Thanks so much.
