Privacy: Caller ID and Text Messaging Previews

How do you turn off Caller ID,Voicemail and Text Messaging previews on the home screen of the iPhone so everyone can't see your business in case you put your phone down for a few minutes.

Even when auto-locked it will show the Text Message when it is received by lighting up the screen.
I for one have the pass code enabled and it works like a charm, only showing the sender but not the message.

Does anyone know if there is an App. or board where I can suggest one be made that will tell you if you have say an incoming call or text message without displaying the number etc. I've turned off the text message preview feature which still displays the number from where a text came from , likewise for incoming calls. I find this intrusive if I put my phone down anyone can pick it up and view my business even if the phone is locked.

During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call. So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of. Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message. Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.

Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

IPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 stops receiving calls and text messages

Hi all,
My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) suddenly stopped receiving calls and text messages. However, I'm still able to send them.
The workaround for fixing this issue is to make an hard reset to the iPhone.
This only occured with 5.0.1 version. It's very annoying because I'm not able to know if it's working or not (I can only suppose that it's not working when I'm a long period without receiving calls/messages)
Do you know how to solve this ?

IPhone fails receiving calls and text messages

Hi everyone, here is my problem.
I have an iPhone 4 32GB. It was on iOs 5.1 (always worked perfectly) untill few days ago I have upgraded to iOs 7.1.
The problem after the upgrade is that phone calls or sms messages fails to be received. Strange thing is I can receive at times calls from cellphones, but I don't receive calls from land line numbers. And text messages arrive all at once after hours.
I have restored the phone in DFU mode twice, set up as new phone , tried a hard reset, network reset... nothing worked. It still fails to receive phone calls and sms messages.
Before you ask, the "don't disturb" is disabled.
I live in Italy and have a contract with TIM, i spoke with their cistomer service and according to them there's nothing more i can do on my end.
Any idea?

hello, my iPhone 4 is receiving calls and text messages but it wont make them , it was fine few moments ago , i have tried hard rest , sim removal, resetting network settings , but nothing is happening !

Having horrible service with 4GLTE I have had 3G for several weeks (I am not the only person I know having this problem), I have reset my network settings and it did not resolve the issue. I am also unable to send SMS and text messages without them either failing or not sending at all. Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?

Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.

However, in these settings when I try to change the sound I get only the vibration and not the sample sound. Can anyone help?

The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.

I just upgraded to ios7 and I can no longer make calls or send text messages. The screens seem to be locking. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

My wife is having the exact same issue after updating to the new iOS 8.1.1 and we've tried all the same steps even restoring the phone as a new phone. We've contacted our service provider and they've told us to go to apple to potentially "remove" her serial number from their servers to allow it to work properly on the service we have. We are desperate as purchasing a new phone right now is not an option and she desperately needs her phone for work and life.

I cannot make or receive calls and text messages. I called my carrier and it isn't them. What can I do? Do I need to go to an Apple store?

the model is A1387...I can switch my service provider and keep the same number..not an issue...But why exactly is it happening with a new vodafone sim ??? i will try out airtel and loop mobile sim cards as well..
I have also contacted the vodafone technical department...may be its not a problem on their part..but they said they would like to look into it as this case is a first of its kind...they also told me that my old dolphin (mtnl) card would work on a diff band compared to the new vodafone / airtel/ aircel sim cards..!
If if doesnt work out ..i'll risk sending the phoen back to sydney for a replacement so that I can end up with a different model series! will have to wait another 2-3 months to get teh phoen back though!

When will the bluetooth support audio alerts for email and text messages? It works when I get a phone call, but I'd like it to work when getting a text message (I do this a lot in noisier areas and would rather not have to look at the phone every few minutes)
Or is there a configuration option I'm missing?

another question, how I got to know, my I-message is activated, I put as ON, but I am not getting mesage it's activated, there is link showing to me, learn more abount I-message. do it will take time? please advise how I can activate my I-message. Please advise.
