Privacy issues for end user

The interactive form I have designed will be completed by people who are very conscious of their privacy. I imagine that most of them will not be happy to email their data, as this leaves easily found "breadcrumbs" on their computer.
Is there any way this data can be sent without going through the email process? Would submitting to a URL overcome this problem, or are there other "privacy issues" for the end user which may come into play?

Thanks Danmaster - after investigation I find I have been using SOAP for some time now. I've just never been conscious of its acronym. So if I have been communicating between applications using a communication protocol I have been using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).
I am starting to think I'm really clever now.
Just because I have been submitting forms through http and then using CGI scripting on the server to convert and email me the results, I never thought that SOAP was such a vital component.
So perhaps the LiveCycle Designer will just allow me to create automatically what I have been hard-coding for years.
I really should have asked that "if the client submits via http through the LiveCycle form, will they be shown any hints that the data has been submitted".

SCSM 2012 SSP Permission for End users

Hello Experts,
I have an issues with SSP - SCSM 2012 SP1.
As an admin user, I can see theOfferings, see the pending requests, can see the requests I have submitted, Approve them etc. But when I am an end user, browsing from my laptop, I see a blank Home page. I dont see the Service offerings in the
homepage..even I dont see the Need Help? text. What is the issue? FYI : Silver light is already installed on my laptop.
Interestingly, I see the Need Help? text with the same end user credential when I am opening the browser inside the server wher SSP is installed.
But, in both the cases, whether I browse in the server or from my laptop, I dont see the service offerings anywhere when i am an end user. I followed the below article..but no success.. :(

Recording NWBC scripts for End User Experience

Hi Experts,
I am recording NWBC scripts using the Netweaver Business Client GUI for loading and running it through Robots for End User Experience Monitoring. I don't see an option to "LogOff" in NWBC client while recording the script. We only have option to "Close all session and LogOff" in NWBC client .
When I am using this option, it closes all the sessions including the EEM Recorder also without saving the recording .
I need to include "LogOff" as the last step so that it doesn't leave any active sessions for each run by different robots.
I have a Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 and NWBC client 3.5 Patch 13.
Please help me achieve this.

Hi,
for a browser the recommendation is to open a new, empty tab to keep the browser alive while closing the tab with the session. All that with the hope that the backend will use the triggered event of collapsing tab to close session.
Maybe a similar strategy works for NWBC.. but I don't know the UI in detail.

Reset passwork for end user using XE version 2.1.0.00.39

I would like to create a link "Change Password" for end users to able to change their password anytime. I've followed the link below
Self Reset Password
but it still require the admin login before end users can change their password.
The following steps that I did:
1. Under "Shared Components", create a Navigation Bar entry name "Change Password".
2. On page 1, click on the "Change Password" link under Navigation Bar and entered
Target Type = URL
URL Target = javascript:popupURL('f?p=4350:53:&SESSION.:::53.F4350_P53_USER_NAME::APP_USER');
How do i make the "Change password" link go directly to reset password page after end users clicked on it without admin login require? I'm using a default authentication and all end users assigned to user group.

You want the users to go to popup page 58 (in application 4350). See this thread: Re: Pop Up Change Password Window . But I don't know if that will work in 2.1.
In general, you're better off using other types of account management tools such as LDAP.

Page customization for end user

is it possible to use other mechanism for end users to customize their own pages instead using the portal features since it's a little complicated cause each user needs to create new pages, add portlet, etc.
Can we use the mechanism like my cnn, my yahoo,excite and how to do that in a simple way?

I have the same question, but I would like to have a seperate page or application, showing only predetermined portlets, for users to choose from and place on their page. I do not want the end user to ever see the customization process Oracle uses. Can this be done???

CProjects for end users

Afternoon all, i've recently installed cProjects as a add on to a WEBAS system, i'm after some useful links/information about how to use the product at all, as i've no real experience of it.

Applet Debugging Option for End Users

Users in our 12.0.4 development system that only have the 'xMII Users' role can see and use the 'Applet Debugging' option under the System Management menu. I'd prefer them to only have the options under the Support menu.
I'm puzzled why this one option is availble for end users. What am I missing?

I guess nothing.
Its just that it is designed this way. Moreover the option is harmless from a Security point of view.
May be you will find this 'fixed' in later versions.

I need to prepare a Online Quick Reference (OLQR)/questionnaire/FAQ's (SAP R/3 4.7 -FICO and integration of FI-SD & FI-MM), for the end-users, which they will refer to after Go-Live.

I am using DPM 2012 R2, what finally worked to me to resolve my problem with EUR was to:
In DPM I disabled EUR
In Computer Management delete all DPM Shares (\\?\c:\Program Files\...)
Using ADSI edit go to CN=MS-ShareMapConfiguration,CN=System,DC=X,DC=Y (Replace X & Y for your domain)
Delete all of the mappings within the container
In DPM enable EUR
In DPM on a protection group I created a new recovery point and selected “Only synchronize (available only for file data)”

Front - end print with new access method G - having issues for some users

Recently we have implemented the new access method G for front-end printing. it is working fine for 90% users in our company. but some users having problems in printing to WINDEFAULT using this new method.

Usually this means, that some necessary controls are not properly registered in the registry and hence can't be found. You may solve that by removing the SAPGUI from the PC completely, booting the machine and reinstall the GUI.

SharePoint search issues for ananymous users.

Hi,
I am facing 2 issues with SharePoint 2010 search.MY requirement is to give anonymous access to my SharePoint publishing site with out showing the list views and View all Site content pages. For this we enabled Anonymous access on the site collection and
enabled the "viewformpageslockdown" feature. So end user is able to access the list items but not the views.Everything as expected.
But the problem came up with search.
First issue : The list items are not coming up on the search when I enable "viewformpageslockdown". If I disable this feature and crawl teh content,I can see the items in search. But my business users doesnt
want the end user to see views.They want the "viewformpageslockdown" feature enabled with search showing list items.
I proposed to use the list view web part in another Page of Pages library(since viewformpageslockdown doesn't remove access on pages library) so that content come up in the search. Unfortunately client wants the actual URL of the list item to be shown
in the search results. Can any one help to achieve both search and viewformpageslockdown on my lists???
Second Issue: When I search for a content in Document library,only the results to PDF or Doc file are returned.We need the item ULR also to be there in search.
Fo example my PDF is uploaded in a document library.
The view form for the item is http://xxxx.com/en/publications/_layouts/forms/Publication_DispForm.aspx?List=4f55ad51-4aed-4d32-b960-af70113dbb90&ID
The URL for the PDF that is uploaded against the above itme is http://xxxx.com/en/publications/Publications/Amar.pdf
Search is returning only the PDF U|RL but the line item URL. Incase of lists,the line item URL is coming.IS there any way I can shown line item URL also in search as another result apart from the document.

According to your post, when you set anonymous access to your SharePoint publishing site, you got two issues.
the first issue is when you disable "viewformpageslockdown” feature, all your lists will be accessible to anonymous users
by default. Otherwise, what you want is to give anonymous uses access to your SharePoint publishing site without showing the list views and Viewing all Site content pages.

For your Second issue, I have done a test in my SharePoint 2010.
In SharePoint 2010, When I search for a content in Document libraries of all the sites, only the results to PDF or Doc file are returned. And item ULR are not returned.
it's supposed to be by default.

Any substitute for End User License?

I have the trial version of Acrobat XI Pro. On my bank website (as one example) I can't download a PDF file without entering the End User License Agreement, which I understand from a previous question is not available unless I purchase the app. Is there no way, then, to test the app on such situations? Can anything substitute for the agreement license?

I have little familiarity with the workings of Acrobat, at least little enough to have no confidence in offering more than an idea ... it sounds like you have Acrobat designated as the default program for opening PDF files. I don't know how to get around that, but one thing you should be able to do is to right click the link for the pdf file and choose Save Target As. That should allow you to get the file downloaded without Acrobat getting in the way.
If you continue to have issues with testing out Acrobat you should try posting in the Acrobat forum. Folks there are definitely more focused on matters of how it works and to make it work for you. Here's a link if you wanna try there...

Lync 2013 - Address Book Synchronization Issues for External Users

I recently deployed Lync Server 2013 in my organization. Everything works fine except for the address book synchronizing issues and the mobility access. I would really appreciate if someone could share their knowledge as I have done lot of troubleshooting,
not sure if I have missed something. Please note my setup below for the External Web Services.
Lync Front End:
Listening: 8080 4443
Published: 80 443
I have published my External Web Services URL and the following ports are open: 4443, 443, 8080
When I look at the Lync Client Configuration, ABS Server External URL is pointing to https://lyncexternalweb.domain.com:443/abs/handler. However, GAL Status is still pointing to my internal Front End FQDN: https://internal.domain.com:443/abs/handler.
For machines that are joined to the domain, the address books synchronizes with no issues. For machines that are not joined to the domain and for external users, GALContacts and GALContacts.DB files are not event generated for the users profiles.

Please note the findings below:
1. I was checking the Lync Client configuration on one of the PC that is not joined to the domain, still on the domain network via site to site VPN connection. I noticed that the Connected Lync Server varies: sipinternal.domain.com, sipexternal.domain.com,
lync.domain.com (Pointing to the Edge Server IP).
2. Edge Server External Settings: Single IP address with the FQDN set to lync.domain.com for all 3 services and the following ports configured. Access Edge Service: 5061, Web Conferencing Edge Service: 444, A/V Edge Service: 443 with NAT enabled public
IPv4 address. I have checked the replication status between the Front End and Edge Server, it is up to date.
3. In regard to the https://lyncdiscover.domain.com, I don't have the lyncdiscover.domain.com published, but it is pointing to the NAT enabled public IPv4 address which is assigned for A/V Edge Services.
4. For the port forwarding, I am using the Cisco Meraki router.
Please advise if there are there is something that I am missing.
