Privacy Settings and Outlook 2013 shared mailbox
We just switched to Outlook 2013. There is one vendor who had been sending emails with the sensitivy setting set to "Private" to a shared mailbox. It worked fine until the switch to Outlook. She may also be setting some permssions,
but I could not check that. I do know they cannot be forwarded or replied all to, however, if that clue helps.
Now this setting, or another setting, seems to be blocking the emails from coming through. They do come to my personal email, but not this shared mailbox.
Is the setting the issue and can I do anything on my side to enable to come into the shared mailbox?
Hello,
Please try to add the following registry key and then restart Outlook to check the issue again:
Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. For added protection,
back up the registrybefore you modify it.
Registry data to index shared mailboxes:
Key: HKLM\software\policies\Microsoft\windows\windows search
DWORD: EnableIndexingDelegateMailboxes
Value: 1
Please let me know the result.

Outlook 2013 shared mailbox indexing and search issue
I have 2 Outlook 2013 clients running in Cached Mode, with Download Shared Folders checked and a delegated mailbox opened via the Account Settings Advanced tab. Both clients are accessing the same delegated mailbox. According to this article (http://blogs.technet.com/b/outlooking/archive/2014/04/28/understanding-search-scopes-in-microsoft-outlook.aspx),
they should be able to search the Current Folder via WDS, but in both cases, changing the Search Scope to Current Folder causes Outlook to hang for 10-20 minutes.
This makes searching the delegate mailbox completely unworkable, which is a problem for the 2 P.A.s concerned, as they spend a lot of the day searching for correspondence.
I have tried rebuilding the search index, with no change in the search behavior. It seems that WDS is not indexing the cached delegate mailbox - how can I correct this?
Thanks

Office 365/Outlook 2013 Shared Mailbox Sent Items Problem
I've only been able to find an answer for this problem for Outlook 2010, and that doesn't work for 2013.
I'm trying to make the sent items for a shared mailbox save to the sent items of that mailbox, not my mailbox. I got the deleted items to finally work, I just need to get the sent items to work now.
I've read about this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Conversations
But I don't have the conversations folder, should I make it?
I've also seen this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Preferences\DelegateSentItemsStyle
But that doesn't seem to work with Office 2013.
Any ideas?
ThanksWe have the same problem with a client. We are using Office 365 with Outlook 2013 on a RDS Windows Server 2012 R2. I can't find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
folder in the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ is as far as it gets.
Even when we sent from the Office 365 online mailbox and fill in the from address, the sent mail is stored in the sent items folder from the user instead of the shared mailbox.
I've searched everywhere for a solution, but I haven't found one yet.
Regards,
Steve
If a key does not exist, you need to add it - Outlook doesn't create keys it's not using. :)

Outlook 2010 - Shared mailbox copies sent items into inbox
Good afternoon, I have a customer which recently requested a shared mailbox addition for group emails within his team (all accounts are Exchange). The shared mailbox is duplicating sent items in the inbox of the shared account. The default account
functions normally with sent items only residing in the sent items folder.
All the settings appear normal on the cliet side, what am I missing?
Thanks in advance,
MackHi Mack,
Does this issue occur on all the users who add the shared mailbox or just several users?
If this issue only occur on one user, please recreate Outlook profile to have a try.
You also can use OWA to help you check on the issue:
<1> Grant one user with full access permission on the shared mailbox.
<2> Login with OWA, and use the shared mailbox to send one email, then check if the sent item email will be copied to the inbox.
Thanks,

I am at my wits end. I have got a new PC running Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 simply WILL NOT connect to my work Exchange server. The REALLY annoying thing is that the Windows Mail client inbuilt to Windows 8.1 works perfectly! But I have to have Outlook
for the functionality. The issue appears to be that in Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1, it tries to be clever and auto-detect the settings whereas Windows Mail allows you to input the server and domain names.
I have tried all the suggestions already on some of the boards - manual setup, etc - nothing works! Is it a compatibilityissue with SBS 2008 and Outlook 2013? Any help appreciated!I am at my wits end. There's no issue with O'2013 connecting with Ex '2007. Also not clear about comments of "auto-detect" versus "....have tried all the suggestions ............ manual setup....". On the one hand your stating that only "auto-detect" is available and on the
other that you've tried "manual settings" (which definitely is an option in O'2013 for EX accounts).
This may have more to do with the fact that you're using a new computer trying to connect to the server which it may not be configured for - something your admin will need to address.
Given that your question is in reference to Exchange - you are likely to get a better/faster answer in the following forum which deals with Exchange server related questions:

Cross-forest migration to Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1
Hello! I have two forest: Exchange 2010 SP2 RU5 - resource forest and Exchange 2013 SP1 - account forest. I make cross-forest migration from resource forest (linked mailboxes with account forest) to forest with Exchange 2013 SP1.
I have moved mailbox from resource forest exchange 2010 to exchange 2013 sp1 forest.
Outlook 2010 connect to migrated mailbox without any problem, but outlook 2013 sp1 cannot connect to migrated mailbox.
Error look like - cannot find exchange server.
I created new mailbox in Exchange 2013 organization and can connect to it with outlook 2010 and outlook 2013 sp1.
Someone have the same problem with migrated mailbox? How to solve it?
Truly, Valery TyurinYou can use New-MoveRequest to perform a cross-forest move. Here is a well post and step-wise explanation you can check for cross forest migration from exchange 2010 to exchange 2013(http://msexchangeguru.com/2013/11/03/e2013crossforestmigration/).

Hello Im very confused. I have outlook 2013 and just subscribed for hosted MS exchange account straight on Microsoft site. Now Im lost - I didnt find any simple tutorial what to do now. I have 6 email addresses ( every on different domain) all I need is
to have access to my emails and email history from all my devices ( PC, tablets) I have Outlook 2013 on all my mobile devices. All emails are now managed only locally from my PC and outlook 2013.
1) I need import all my existing emails saved in my computer to exchange - so i can access it from my other devices
2) I need switch from local receiving/sending emails from my computer to exchange so it will be all synchronized - so I can see all emails and old emails from my all devices and send/receive from all devices.
I didnt find any simple tutorial step by step how tro do it. My situation is simpla: NOw I have outlook 2013 with all my 6 pop3 emails configured in outlook 2013. ALso now I have access to hosted MS Exchange . But what now ? WHat are exact steps I should
do ? Any help ?Might help if you tell us where you got the hosted Exchange account, Office 365 or some other provider?
To import the old emails and use the Exchange mailbox as central repository, you can use the Connected accounts feature:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/support/connected-accounts-HA102836325.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA103002943
Or here:
https://support.office.com/en-US/Article/Learn-about-connecting-to-other-accounts-74609141-8b8e-413a-b7db-8ac0a6a36488
The limit is 5 however.
Another option is to export everything to .pst files and import them to the Exchange account.
In the long run, you might consider validating your domains with Office 365 and configuring the addresses as aliases of the new mailbox.
All of the above info assumes that you are using Office 365. -

Using windows 8.1 and outlook 2013 with iCloud Outlook Add-in so that my iPhone 5 will sync with outlook. Now reminders work on iPhone 5, but don't work in outlook 2013. Help, I've tried everything I can think of or found on the internet.
Hi,
Please follow the steps below to make sure the reminders have been enabled in Outlook:
On the File tab, click Options.
Select Advanced in the Outlook Options dialog box.
In the Reminders section, select Show reminders.
Click OK.
I also found a similar thread here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/70bbd99e-6c1b-4a56-b1eb-f1812f96ed56/outlook-2010-reminders-not-appearing-in-outlook-but-appearing-on-iphone
As mentioned in the thread, you can try these steps:
Use MFCMAPI to delete the Reminders Folder, then run "outlook.exe /resetfolders" to recreate this folder:
Download MFCMAPI:http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/releases/view/118446
Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
If the problem persists, try to recreate the user’s profile of the Outlook to check this issue:

How do I set up my devices to wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1?
Hey bwind,
You will want to first create an iCloud account, if you haven’t already:
Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4436
Next, sign in to that iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad, and turn on the syncing for notes:
iCloud - iPhone
http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3c79652c
iCloud - iPad User Guide
http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad995bbafe
Then you will want to download the iCloud Control Panel for Windows:
iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455
You will find your notes in their own section on Outlook:
iCloud: Notes overview
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12081
On your Windows computer, your changes are pushed to Microsoft Outlook in the Notes folder of your iCloud email account. You can see your iCloud notes by expanding your iCloud email account in the Outlook folder pane (also called the navigation pane), then selecting the Notes folder in the email account.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

Hello,
We are currently experiencing some weird behaviour in Outlook 2013 since we added Shared Mailboxes.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
enabled:
- I create a new e-mail and send it.
- The e-mail goes to the outbox, and get's 'send'.
- None of the recipients receives the e-mail.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
disabled:
- I create a new e-mail and send it.
- The e-mail goes to the outbox, but remains there.
Now to make things even more bizarre:
When I switch from 'cached'-mode to 'non cached'-mode, I see all the e-mail that were 'send' in cached-mode stuck in the outbox.
Note: The DNS server configuration in Exchange is correct.Hi,
How about sending on OWA? Does the issue exist?
To troubleshoot the issue, let's run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem sending emails in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Please also disable the firewall and anti-virus program to send the emails again, in many scenarios the protection may cause the issue.
Please also keep Exchange and Outlook patched to the latest.

Outlook 2013 Pro Plus - Windows 7 64bit - Exchange 2007 Hosted by Rack Space - everything fully patched....
every user in our company on Office 2013 now has the same issue: shared calendars won't populate with the following error: "no connection" when they try to see another user's calendar in scheduling assistant, it just shows those diagonal lines
(like they don't have permission)
Based on "research", reaching out to Rack Space and some desperate Googling, I've tried the following to no avail:
run full repair of Microsoft office 2013 and also reinstalled Office 2013
turn off /on cached exchange mode, turned off /on Work Offline mode
rebuild OST and email profile
start Outlook in safe mode with no add-ins running
check auto discover records and add auto discover server address to local intranet zone in Internet Explorer
modify calendar permissions for both ends of the calendar interaction
check Outlook OWA access, confirmed everything is fine there
anyone have any ideas for me? people in Outlook 2010 have no issues BTW; just Outlook 2013....
thank you so much in advance and please let me know if I can provide more info!Hi,
